felix's smile dropped the minute he saw the pair sit together, but he pushed the negative feelings that were piling up in his stomach and continued on with his job like it didn't matter at all, and it didn't. or so he thought 'who's she?' he wondered in his head 'why do I care? it's none of my business' he licked his lips keeping his eyes stuck onto the two "felix, we've got customers" a coworker spoke catching felix out of his trance
"oh yea" he replied, he had never wished for some other worker to take his place more than he did right now. but there was no other worker, it was just the three of them, and keeping in mind that hye-jin was busy he had to take the job himself. he took in a soft breath before walking towards the two while putting on a quick forced smile on his lips
"Hello! what can I get you two?" as soon as the voice of the aforementioned boy struck hyunjin's ears he recognized him and quickly turned his neck to look at him, he stared at him for a split second not failing to notice how unreal the latter sounded and behaved although it had been no longer than seconds since the brunette has appeared in front of his eyes. not unreal in an unhuman way, unreal in a fake way
his expressions seemed stiff and forced "uh just a latte" the girl replied smiling softly at felix, she glanced at hyunjin while felix wrote down her order in his small notebook "and for you, sir?" he turned to hyunjin who licked his lips as he gulped down before speaking "the usual" felix hummed "your order will be out shortly" with another soft smile he left
'why does he always suddenly start acting so odd? werido' hyunjin thought to himself as he watched felix walk away "so...why did you pick this place?" riya questioned softly as hyunjin turned around to look at her "their coffee is good" she nodded smiling looking around the place "it's cute it'd be cuter if they painted the walls something more bright, like yellow or pink you know, like a cafe should be painted" she spoke looked around the cafe and pointing to the walls while she moved her hands in motions as she speaks
"are you here to do the assignment or design their café?' hyunjin asked in his basic monotone voice which shut her up quickly "sorry yea, we should um probably get to it" she uttered "so I did take some pictures before you called and am almost halfway done with it but we can just start all over again, I'd be happy to begin a new start with you" she said staring at hyunjin while she took out photos of places from her bag
hyunjin remained silent shuffling through the numerous pictures "we'll start again" she nodded enthusiastically at hyunjin's remarks "so what place do you have in mind?" she questioned. he turned to glance at the brunette boy walking towards them, "here you go, let me know if you need anything else" felix spoke setting their order down while hyunjin had his eyes glued to the boy
"thank you" Riya thanked felix with the same sweet smile and felix couldn't help but return it, 'she's sweet' he wondered in his head as he looked at Riya who stared at hyunjin staring at felix, damn. "can't we do people instead?" hyunjin spoke while felix turned around to leave, riya's sweet smile faded for a second as she furrowed her perfectly made brows "I don't think so, the teacher clearly stated we have to take pictures of places, not people" she replied
hyunjin sighed turning back to look at her as he nodded and held his americano to take a sip out of it and once again turned to stare at the boy who was working on somebody else's order behind the counter 'god this is annoying, he always addresses me as hyunjin why did he call me sir today? what is his problem' apparently, Felix's unknown problem was beginning to become a big problem for hyunjin
he was caught up in Felix's trance that he just couldn't stop staring at him "we should decide on places we like so we can visit them today or whenever you like, the assignment is due next week" riya spoke gulping down her coffee "wow, their coffee really is good" she murmured but not even a single word crossed hyunjin's ears to pass through his head

a few moments later
felix let out a loud sigh as he turned to stare at hye-jin who wouldn't stop bugging him "for the hundredth time he is not my boyfriend jeez! he's just a regular customer" she rolled her eyes "a regular customer that stares at you nonstop" felix stared at hye-jin with eyes half-closed attempting to show her that he was tired of her crap "just like he's doing right now and it's low-key creepy" she raised her brows at hyunjin as felix turned to glance in the boy's direction
and much to his surprise, she was correct. he actually was staring at him, they held eye contact for two seconds before felix looked away but those two seconds were enough to claim something was off "I don't know he just is that way okay? please drop this already" felix whined and she laughed "okay fine sorry I was just messing with you" she replied patting his head and turning around to do her job
felix sighed turning to glance at the pair again, and this time hyunjin was looking at her while he spoke so attractively, felix licked his lips 'why was he looking at me?' he knew what his co-workers kept teasing him with was nothing but a lie, but part of him was confused and curious, the small spark in his chest that kept lightening up and yelling hyunjin's name was very annoying to him
His train of thoughts was put to a stop when hyunjin raised his hand in order to catch his attention, he gulped before looking around trying to find someone else that could take over just for now. His heart gleamed with relief when he saw hye-jin walking towards them
He quickly looked away getting on with the rest of his work, not much was left until he gets off so he was pretty relieved. He didn't understand why he felt what he was feeling, the twisting feeling in his stomach and the sting in his heart every time he started at hyunjin and the girl. But he was aware it was there, and he didn't like it
So he decided, well more like tried to ignore whatever issue was occurring with him at the time and it wasn't that hard due to him being distracted by his busy work

"so we should be done with this in about two days, sounds great! I'm really glad you decided to give this assignment a try. It's so much more fun with you" Riya happily exclaimed and in response hyunjin hummed taking out his wallet to pay the bill "oh you don't have to pay for me!" She spoke with a soft pink shade covering her beautiful soft cheeks while a shy smile wrapped itself over her delighted lips, hyunjin hummed again agreeing almost right away to her humble request, almost as if he never intended to pay for her, she stared at him a bit in disbelief
He paid for his order leaving the rest up to her as she cleared her throat in embarrassment taking out her purse and paying the rest of the amount.

"Off you go?" The black haired male asked felic as he nodded "I've hit the clock" it was now the other boy's turn to nod "you guys! This boy is brutal!" Hye-jin spoke setting down the tray on the counter catching both the boys' attention "who?" The guy behind the cash machine questioned
"Him" hye-jin pointed in hyunjin's direction as she grinned widely "she asked him not to pay for her out of formality and he deadass hummed, he literally looked like he couldn't care less and he never planned on paying for her" she laughed making both of them sigh "you're so mean and so is that dickhead, what a prick" the black haired male spoke as felix stared at the pair who were getting ready to leave
he didn't like how his coworker spoke of hyunjin, he was well aware that hyunjin wasn't a prick, he just came off to be one sometimes, other than that there was another thing he couldn't help but pay attention to 'so paying for people isn't part of his personality?' Felix's thoughts wandered in his mind but he shook it away, he sighed before speaking "I'm leaving, bye!" He bidded his goodbyes to his co-workers and began to walk out the café

Hyunjin's eyes saw felix walk out the glass door of the brown-wall café as he quickly threw his jacket over his shoulder, riya stared at him rush out the door her heart absolutely shattered never has she felt so humiliated before as much as she did in these past hours with hyunjin
But the truth was the truth, she enjoyed these hours with hyunjin better than anything "bye..." She whispered to the lingering smell of the taller male as she watched him run out the door, with a sigh deep she hung her bag on his shoulder and left through the same door as Hyunjin

Hyunjin walked exceptionally fast, practically running to catch up with Felix "Felix, wait" he spoke in an attempt to catch Felix's attention and he didn't fail, as felix stopped in his tracks and turned to stare at him "hyunjin?" He was pretty surprised to see the raven head standing before him
"Let me walk you home? If that's okay?" Hyunjin spoke now finally standing in front of the brown haired male, he made sure to ask if it was okay with the latter due to his odd behaviour earlier "um...sure" Felix responded unsure of why hyunjin would be willing to, but he didn't question it.
"Don't you have to walk your friend home?" Felix questioned as they began to walk "she's not my friend, and she can walk herself home" felix nodded curious as to what the girl meant to Hyunjin but he dared not push it, they walked quietly in the harmony of peace just enjoying each other's company
a few moments passed and felix turned his head to glance at hyunjin only for him to turn his head at the same time causing a beautiful grin to blossom on both of their lips, something was so calming yet so shy in the air and it turned both of their stomach in the most fluttering way possible, chaos was feeding off of their erupting emotions yet there was so much serene
Their wide grins turned into soft smiles as they continued to smile and walk in the night, felix was the first one to break eye contact and look away. something about the subject of intimacy was too intense and he found peace in not being too involved in things he had no control over
Although the two boys were now looking at the ragged ground the smiles on their faces were just as soft as before, but happiness never lasted long enough for Felix. His beautiful smile fell the second he heard an eerie whistle linger over his ears, he stopped in his tracks eyes open wide as he stared in front of him lost in the whistling
His heart began to pick up its pace and his lungs gave up on him, leaving him breathless. Hyunjin noticed the boy that was now left behind as he turned to stare at him "felix?" He asked, voice soft yet concerned. But felix was far too gone to listen to Hyunjin
All he could pay attention to was the whispering whistle
