El's pov
Everyone woke up except max. She must need sleep since she didn't sleep well last night. I went to the kitchen, the boys were sitting thete eating cereal. Mike's parents have gone to work so it was just us and Nancy upstairs. "good morning" they all said to me. "good morning" I replied. "how did you sleep?" Mike asked. "good" I said. I was actually worrying about max but I didn't tell them that. I didn't sleep much. "is max better?" Dustin asked. "yeah, I think so, I hope" I said. They nodded. While we were eating and chatting Nancy came downstairs about to leave. "where are you going?" Mike asked. "I'm going to Jonathan's place and then we'll probably go for bowling" Nancy replied putting on perfume. We all looked at each other, especially the boys. They were excited about something which I had no idea what it was so I just wanted to see why they're excited. "can we come with you!?" Mike said. The fact is that I had no idea what bowling was. I always feel bad because I don't know many stuff like the others and feel dumb but the others don't make fun of me. They always help me understand things and explain. Will must have understood my confused expression. "bowling is a game which you roll a ball towards pins or another target and you have to score. You'll see when we get there, if we will" he said quietly explaining the game to me in private while the others were arguing with Nancy. "why dont you let us come with you?" Mike said annoyed. "because i don't want you kids with me, I'm going with Jonathan" Nancy replied. Without letting any of us say anything else she left leaving the boys annoyed. "how about we just tell Steve to take us there?" Dustin said. "can't we just go there by our bikes?" lucas said. "no you dumb, the bowling place is far away from here, except you want your legs to hurt for an entire month" Dustin said. Lucas rolled his eyes. These two always argue about random stuff. I just sit there listening to them. I just laugh because they're funny. Me and max make fun of them. "alright alright, shut up, we'll ask Steve, let's hope he says yes" Mike said. "alright let's wake up max, it's 11 am" Mike said. "Mike,let her sleep, you know.. Remember last night?" will said quietly at the end. Mike zoned out for a second trying to process and remember about last night. "ohh, yeah, I forgot I was a bit sleepy but now I remember, sorry yeah you're right" Mike said. "it's fine" we all said. We sat on the living room playing uno and waiting for max to wake up. I love the company of the boys but I want max. The boys are just always yelling excited or arguing. But we love them. I finally understood how to play that card game called uno. I really like it. It has simple rules and easy to play. Dustin keeps complaining about how we beat him most of the times but we still have fun. About an hour later, still playing uno max woke up. She appeared to the living room. "good morning" she said. Her morning voice was so attractive I don't know why,weird but I do. As soon as I heard her voice. I threw the cards on the table not really caring about the game. "El, don't just throw them like that, we're not done yet" Dustin complained. I jump above the couch and hugged her. She laughed and hugged me back tightly. "good morning El" she said and giggled. I think I caught her off guard. "good morning" I replied. "so excited to see me?" she said smirking. "it was boring without you" I said smiling. "hey, we're not boring" Dustin said. The boys laughed,so did we. Max stung her tongue at them and making fun of them. Mike pointed his middle finger at her for revenge. She did the same. They're acting like little kids. I still don't know what that means but they just said it's a bad thing. So I don't do it. I giggled. She turned to me. Softly kissed my lips. "love birds ew, not here" Mike said to mock us. Dustin fake gagged. "it's just a kiss jeez, we're not gonna like-" she cut herself off. The others bursted out laughing. Of course me the confused one didn't know why they were laughing about. Max's face was red for some reason. The boys couldn't stop laughing. What did max say that made them laugh so hard, I don't understand. "why are you laughing?" I asked confused. Max stayed quiet, the others still couldn't stop laughing. "is anyone gonna tell me?" I asked getting a bit annoyed. "go ahead max" Dustin said through laughs. "um-it's-nothing, they're just making fun of us" max said nervously for some weird reason. "fun of what?" I asked. They've seen us kiss before, they do make fun of us for fun, mocking us. But this time when max cut herself off, she was about to say something. Clearly it was something I'm not supposed to know?. "what were going to say?" I asked confused. "it's-nothing" max said, her face still red. Max gave the others a death stare and they stopped laughing. "well-um-I'm going to eat some cereal" max said changing the subject,leaving me confused. "El" will said quietly. I looked at him. "it's nothing bad, okay? You're just too innocent to know, I promise you it's not a secret anything" will said smiling. "okay, if it's not bad then why don't you tell me?" I asked. They didn't say anything. "okay, whatever" I said. Why can't they just tell me. I let it go for now. I went into the kitchen with max. She was already sitting eating. I decided to eat some eggos. I just wanted to sit with max, so she doesn't eat alone. I sat down. There was silence, a comfortable one though. I was putting whipped cream on my eggo. "hey um-what I was about to say earlier was just a joke" max said. "what joke?" I asked. "um, you know when they started mocking us about the kiss,i basically told them we're not gonna like go further than kissing you know as a joke that's why they were laughing, it's not a bad thing okay? I just wanted you to be sure, so you don't think I'm hiding something "max said nervously." what do you mean, further? "I asked. She looked down." um, did hopper did you, the, you know-um-the talk? "max asked. I was trying to remember." the thing couples do to have babies? "I asked. She nodded." that's what further basically means, but it was just a joke, you know I told them like, since they said that kissing in front of them is gross, I said 'it's not like we would go further' or something, just a joke that's why they were laughing, can we just change the subject please, this is awkward " max said, her face was red and clearly embarrassed." well, why are you embarrassed" I asked giggling. She looked at me laughing as well. "didn't hopper feel awkward when he told you?" max asked. "yeah, he was a bit nervous for some reason, but I understand what he means, so you don't have to explain more" I said smiling lightly so she doesn't feel embarrassed. "okay, good, thank you" she said nervously laughing. She continued eating cereal. I took her hand. "guess what!" I said excited changing the subject. "what?" she asked smiling. "we might go somewhere, uh, I forgot the name, I think it's bo-wling, I-I forgot, its something with rolling balls to score, I-sorry I don't remember the name-" max cut me off giggling. "you mean bowling?" she said. I nodded. "ooo we're going bowling?" max said smiling. "yeah! Bowling that's the word!" I said excitedly.
Max's pov
El was struggling to find the word bowling. It was adorable. "how are we gonna go there though, we can't go by our bikes" I said. "we will ask Steve to get us there, since Nancy refused, she said she will go with Jonathan today but she doesnt want to take us with her so we might go by ourselves" El said smiling. "yeahh that's amazing" I said smiling too. We suddenly heard the voices coming from the living room. "come on Steve, just take us there, it's not big deal, you won't be late on your date" we heard Dustin yelling obviously talking to Steve through the phone. Me and El looked at each other for a second and bursted out laughing. They've been yelling at each other for a minute until Steve finally agreed to take us there. "do you feel better from last night?" she asked me softly. I looked down for second. "yeah, I'm fine, thanks" I told her smiling. "you can talk to me" El said. "yeah, I know, im just tired of that but I'll be fine, okay?" I told her making eye contact. She nodded. "did you eat already?" lucas asked us yelling from the living room. "jeez yeah, we're done calm down" I yelled back. El giggled. I laughed along with her. I smiled at her and said "alright let's go" taking her hand pulling her. As soon as we stood up she immediately wrapped me in a hug. "I'm not gonna leave El" I said laughing hugging back. "I know, I just wanna hug youu" El said in a cute voice. She's adorable. We pulled away and went to get ready. I put on a red flannel shirt open with a black cropped top underneath it with blue skinny jeans and my black converse. I've been trying to fix my hair for about 5 minutes in the mirror while El was still changing behind me. I began to look annoyed casue my hair wasn't so good today. El finished changing and stood up behind me staring at me in the mirror. I noticed and looked at her through the mirror. "maxiee, you look amazing stop fixing your hair, you look amazing" El said kissing my head. "I can't fix them, they got messed up while I was sleeping" I complained. "they're fine max, you look amazing" El said smiling at me. I blushed. I then looked at her. She was wearing a baby blue sweatshirt I bought her with blue ripped jeans and her white converse. She was so cute. I didn't realise I was staring until I heard El giggling. "you're staring, do I look bad?" she asked softly smiling. "no-you look-so cute-I mean beautiful-" I stuttered blushing. She's so pretty I don't know how but she is. She gigled again by my reaction. "you look amazing too" she looked at me up and down. Then she looked up to me. "pretty.."she whispered. I got chills and blushed like crazy. She slowly grabbed my cheek and gave me a soft kiss on my lips. I kissed back immediately. I put my hand on her weist while kissing her. Someone bursted in. Why do they keep interrupting us while kissing. It was Mike and Dustin and the others behind them. I groaned annoyed. "what the hell guys!" I said annoyed. "sorry to interrupt you love birds but we have to go, Steve will be here in 5 minutes and you're not ready yet" Dustin said. "yeah, what took you so long" lucas complained. "girls.." they all said at the same time. "we at least look better than you, and we only took 20 minutes to change that's not too much" I replied. They rolled their eyes. "20 isn't enough?" Mike said annoyed. "they are just stop pissing us off, we're ready jeez" I said. El and will giggled for some reason. I turned to look at them confused. El looked at me for a second and stopped laughing. So did will. "what's so funny?" I asked confused. Both will and El looked at each other for a second and started laughing again. "you all are just so funny" El said. Will nodded agreeing with her. "whatever" lucas and the others said. I took el's hand smiling at her and left the room. We all sat in the living room waiting for Steve to arrive. Of course he's late. It's been 10 minutes. We had Dustin and lucas complaining as usual. Me and El were talking about random stuff. Steve finally arrived. "you're late" Dustin told Steve annoyed. "there was traffic plus Robin took hours to get ready" Steve said. Robin came with him. They're best friends now so they're always together. We got into Steve's car and headed to the bowling place. In the car, El was sitting on my lap since we couldn't all fit in one car but we made it work. My hands were around her weist and her hands on top of mine. She fell asleep, her head my chest. She was basically melted on me but I didn't mind. Robin looked back at us smirking. I rolled my eyes playfully and smiled. The place was far away so most of us just fell asleep in the car. When we got there I softly shook El to wake up, she refused to get up. The boys waited for us out of the car. "what's going on?" the boys asked. They got out of the car but we didn't. Robin came to look and smirked."el doesn't want to get up" Robin said chuckling. I tried again but she doesn't want to. "alright fine" I said. I took her gently on me and carried her. We got out of the car. The others laughed at us. "shut up" I said playfully laughing. "aww" I heard will and Robin. "ellll wakey waeky, you gotta get down, max isn't strong enough to carry you all day" Mike said joking. I faked an offended look. "I am strong wheeler " I said back. The others laughed as usual. El slowly opened her eyes. She looked at the others confused and then she looked at me. I smiled at her. She smiled back but confused. I heard the others laughing. "why are you carrying me?" she asked confused. "well, you refused to get up to I got you" I said. "oh okay thanks" she said shyly. She was blushing too. I set her down since she woke up. We got into the building. "alright El, time to learn how to play" Dustin yelled excited. Dustin was showing El how to play. I was playing with Robin. "what you did before was so cute" Robin said. I was a bit confused to be honest. I then remembered what she was talking about. "that I carried her?" I said. She nodded. I blushed. "yeah,um I didn't want to wake her up" I said. She giggled for some reason. "yeah I know, I just wanted to say it, you're so soft to her, it's so cute, I'm kinda jealous to be honest" she laughed. I reaised an eyebrow. "well, we're trying our best to keep the relationship strong but anyways enough of me and El" I said. "sooooo Robin" I continued smirking. She looked at me confused, probably on why I'm smirking. "do you have a girlfriend??" I asked still smirking and whispering so no one hears us. She looked down. "um, no I don't" she said. "what?! How?" I said. "I don't know, I guess I'm not good enough" she said sadly but smiled. "you're way better than just good enough, I'm sure you'll find someone" I said smiling. "wanna talk about your life? You can talk to me, if you want" I told her. She nodded. "hey guys, me and Robin we'll sit there for a few minutes, continue playing we'll be there in a bit" they all nodded. So did El. They were still teaching her how to play so they're were still busy. "well, um, I realised that I like girls when I was about-uhh-14 I think, I was confused back then so I took my time before coming out, it was so, you know scary but one day I finally decided to try and tell them, I was 15, they didn't like it at all, they hated me" she said. I wasn't really expecting this kind of story. She's always the happy friend and everything. I'm glad she trusts me enough to open up to me. "they, um, called me bad names like faggot, queer, saying I'm disgusting, that people like us shouldn't exist and so many other homophobic slurs, started hitting me, mostly slapping, they only let me stay in the house to 'change' but that's impossible, but one day they saw me kissing a girl on accident and took me home, started yelling at me as usual and kicked me out" Robin told me I had tears in my eyes, I felt so sorry for her, mostly because I'm sure that's how my story would be like if hopper didn't arrest Neil and stuff. I took her hand for support. "what did you do after?" I asked. "um, I told my ex girlfriend what happened and she immediately let me stay over at her house, her parents accepted her, I wish it was the same with mine but it wasn't unfortunately, I started working these past few years and got my own apartment, and yeah we broke up" she said. "well then I had a massive crush on a girl named tammy Thomson, who was definitely straight and having a crush on Steve back then, you know when he was the cool popular kid" she said laughing. I laughed along with her. "this year he confessed his feelings about me but I told him about my sexuality and immediately accepted me, now we're best friends and I'm.. quite sure he still has a crush on Nancy but doesn't admit it" she whispered the last part. I giggled. She continued telling me about some girls she found attractive at her school. Until I felt hands around my neck from the back. It was El. She rested her head on my shoulder before kissing the side of my head. I blushed. I love when she gives me hugs from behind, I don't know why they just hit different. Robin smiled at us. "maxiee i learned how to play!" El said excitedly. I smiled staring at her. She's so adorable when she's excited about something. "that's awesome!" I replied. "even though I suck at it" El said her smile fading away. "its alright baby, we're here to have fun" I said smiling at her. She then realised there were some tears in me and Robin's eyes. "what's wrong?" she asked worried. "oh um, we just had an emotional conversation we're fine" I said smiling. She gave me a quick hug and then went over to hug Robin as well. "aww so cute, thank you El we needed that" Robin said smiling hugging El back. She didn't ask about what the conversation was about. She probably knew it was private stuff so she didn't say anything to respect us. We stood up and went over to play. The boys smiled when we got there. "oh shit, max is coming" Mike said annoyed. I heard him and laughed. "what wheeler, excited to see me?" I joked. He rolled his eyes. "you're always scoring at bowling I don't know how but you do" Mike said. "yeah I know" I replied proudly. Me and El rolled the balls towards the pins. I was helping el to pick up the ball since it was too heavy. She knocked out some pins. She was getting better and better. I was so happy with her. Steve was playing with us as well. We then sat down for a bit to take a break. We bought milkshakes. Me and El shared one. While we were chatting, El randomly took some whipped cream from the milkshake and put it on my nose. "boop" she said giggling. "oh you're gonna pay for this" I said smirking and giggled. I put whipped cream all over her cheek and some on the around her mouth. She gasped annoyed but giggling. The others turned to look at us confused. "are they high or something?" Dustin said. I don't know why but me and El couldn't stop giggling. "probably" will said laughing. "they're having a romantic milkshake moment" Robin joked. I heard them. I finally managed to stop laughing.
