Isadora stood in shock. The children were hiding behind her. Aro dodged a blow from Caius. Marcus was between them yelling at them to stop. Isadora took the children to the master bedroom. They were all sobbing their little hearts out. It took a while to calm them down, but they were now fast asleep with Milo curled in Odette's arms, purring happily, completely oblivious to what had just occurred.
This was not how this day was supposed to go.
They day started as it usually would. The children giggling as the kings and Isadora pretended to be asleep. Isadora smiled as Aro and Caius picked the children up and peppered their faces with kisses. Marcus chuckled as they squealed and laughed.
Isadora took the children to get dressed while her mates got ready. Once Marcus, who was ready before the other two.
"You look frustrated." Isadora said to Marcus as she cupped his face.
"The drama kings are bickering."
"Why?"
"I don't know. They get like this sometimes. They'll fight it out, one will leave. They come back and they go off the grid to-" Marcus trailed off as little eyes stared at him
"Make...up" he said. Isadora smiled and kissed him quickly before going to change.
"And yet here you stand pretending to be this big thing that your not."
"For gods sake Aro. Can't you just shut up for a minute. I cannot think with your useless chatter" Caius snarled. Isadora whipped around.
"Okay. That's enough. Both of you. If you can't get along, then don't talk to each other at all. Aro, stop antagonising him. Caius, do not snarl at your mate." She said sternly as the two men glared at each other. Isadora sighed before going to get changed.
"Yes well your blonde, so it makes sense that you are a bit slow."
"My son is blonde. How fucking dare you!"
Isadora sighed and walked straight passed them and found Marcus with the children.
"Mamma! Papa said that we can go and buy presents for papa Aro and Papa Caius. Can we can we can we?" Eugene begged
"Of course"
"If we leave now then we can surprise them with their presents later" Marcus smiled.
"Let's go mamma" Odette said with her stuffed animal in her arms. Isadora smiled as the boys took her hands and pulled her towards the garage.
Odette held her arms up for Marcus. He held her and she hugged him.
Once the children were strapped in, Marcus began to drive to the nearest city centre.
"Have you noticed that Odette is becoming quite shy?" He asked Isadora as she looked at the countryside.
"I have a little. I don't know why though" Isadora shrugged.
"It is rather adorable" Marcus chuckled as they drove into the small town.
The children beamed as they were let out of the car.
"Okay. What should we get for Papa Caius?" Isadora asked them.
"Ummm-"
"How about a new art kit?" Eugene suggested
"Yeah!" They smiled
"Alright. Let's go get it" Marcus said as Odette reached up for him. He picked her up and kissed her cheek as they walked down the street, the two boys practically dragging their mother.
"Papa?" Odette poked Marcus.
"Yes little princess?"
"Can we go and get mamma a gift. Euge and Euli are causing a dis- a dis-"
"A distraction?" Marcus asked. Odette nodded. Marcus chuckled and nodded.
"Alright sweetheart. What should we get your mamma?"
"I think that mamma would like a new sewing machine."
"You know my sweet little flower, I think you are absolutely right. Should we add some fabric to that?" He asked. She nodded eagerly. He smiled as they made their way to get Isadora's gift.
Marcus met up with Isadora and the boys in the town square.
"Where did you two go?"
"Oh. That is a surprise my darling" Marcus smiled as the children came up with a present idea for Aro.
"Papa Aro might want a new pocket watch. His one keeps getting repaired" Eulises said. Eugene high fived his brother while Odette dozed off in Marcus' Arm.
Isadora held Marcus' hand as the boys walked just in front of them, not going to far ahead in the busy crowd.
"You are worried about Aro and Caius" Marcus stated.
Isadora nodded.
"You shouldn't. They do it all the time. I actually have seen it as a blessing in disguise. Once they have made up, they'll realise that they have been completely neglectful of us and you can imagine how they will make it up to us" Marcus winked. Isadora became bashful, Marcus wished he could see her blush.
"Well I suppose that's something to look forward to" she smiled shyly. Marcus chuckled and kissed her cheek as the boys ran over.
"Mamma we found the perfect watch for Papa Aro"
"Let's go and get it then" Marcus chuckled at the boys as they pretty much ran to the shop. Isadora frowned as a woman walked over to the boys. She headed over.
"Boys. Is everything alright?" She asked. At the sound of their mothers voice they hid behind her.
"Who are you?" The strange woman asked
"I'm their mother. A better question is who are you?" She hissed as Marcus came to her side.
"I was just offering them some candy" the woman said. Isadora turned to the boys
"You didn't take anything from her did you?"
"No mamma. Stranger danger" Eulises said, remembering the talk their parents had with them.
"Come on darling" Marcus said as the boys walked right in front of their mother and papa
As they walked, Marcus told her that Heidi and Felix were going to deal with her. She nodded as they walked into the store.
That night, the family were sat in the private living area of the castle. The children were watching a film on the TV whilst Caius and Aro bickered. Isadora was curled up on the sofa beside Marcus as he read a book with Milo purring happily as his owner stroked his fur.
"You know what! Aro I am done! Done with your endless snide comments, insulting me and MY son while I am left alone to defend him." Caius eventually roared. The children jumped up and ran over to their mother and Marcus.
"When have I ever insulted OUR son? Caius you are now saying things to make me look bad when you are the one who has been causing everything to go wrong lately. Tripping me over all the time, not looking me in the eye when we talk. All I asked was what you have been planning, clearly you must be planning to hurt us all because you never keep things from us!" Aro yelled back. Caius snapped at Aro's remark and punched him. Aro went flying across the room. The children began to sob while Marcus stood up and went over. The children stood beside their mother, who was holding them all in her arms.
Aro sped over to Caius and pushed him through a wall. Caius was quick to get back up.
After a while, Marcus came upstairs and hugged Isadora as he saw venom tears in her eyes
"Oh mio tesoro, per favore non piangere. Andrà tutto bene. Ti prometto la mia dolce Isadora. (Oh my darling, please don't cry. Everything is going to be alright. I promise you my sweet Isadora)" Marcus spoke softly and looked to the children, their eyes were all red and puffy from crying.
"Is everything alright down there?"
"Caius left. Aro is cooling off. I told him that I don't want to see him until he and Caius have made up. It isn't fair that you and the children had to see that."
"There is a few days until Christmas. I am going to find Caius. He shouldn't be alone."
"Alright. I'll deal with Aro." Marcus said as Isadora grabbed a bag and put a few clothes in it.
She kissed the children's head and gave Marcus a kiss.
"Ill bring him home" She said before speeding off.
"Caius, you better not have gone far" She said to herself
