As I passed through the front doors of Otonokizaka, I headed to my shoe locker, and as I opened the locker, I saw that inside was a letter. I pulled it out and saw it was unlabeled, and without even needing to open it, I knew that it was from the same person as usual
I began to open the letter when I heard a voice nearby asking "Y/n, what do you have there?"
I turned my head and saw Honoka and Kotori. I smiled at them, since I get along with them really well and I am a big fan of Muse, and said "For a couple weeks now, I've been getting the occasional letter from the same unknown person, saying that they have feelings for me, but are too shy to say it aloud."
"Hey, can I see it?" Honoka asked
"Knock yourself out." I said as I handed it to Honoka.
Honoka looked at the paper, and her and Kotori's smiles started to grow. "I know whose handwriting this is." Honoka said
"You do? Who is it?" I asked
Honoka was about to answer before Kotori stopped her and said to her "If we told Y/n then we'd be going against the wishes of the person who wrote the letter" Kotori then looked at me and said "Sorry that we can't help you, but hopefully you'll be able to find out who it is for yourself soon."
"Right, thanks anyways." I said
The two of them then left, and I couldn't help but wonder who the mystery girl was. They seem to be pretty good with words, and I really do appreciate it, but I feel like once I do find out who it is, I'm going to have to reject them for the simple reason that I already have feelings for someone else. Still, I at least want to know who it is so that rather than just leave them constantly wondering, I can give them an answer. I've been on the other side of pining for someone, and I want to give them the answer I never got myself.
I tried to push down the bad memories that sprung into my mind due to that, not wanting to cringe at old middle school memories, and with a sigh, headed to class.

Umi's Perspective
After having placed my latest love letter in Y/n's shoe locker this morning, I tried to keep a bit of distance between us. I've been told by Honoka and Kotori how my poker face is poor, and since I'm not ready to tell Y/n how I feel in person yet, I don't want him to realize through my facial expressions.
As lunch began, I found myself being dragged to the empty clubroom by Kotori and Honoka.
"Wait, what's going on?" I asked
"We just need to talk to you about something in private." Kotori said
"What is it?"
"How come you didn't tell us you loved Y/n?" Honoka asked
As I realized what Honoka just asked, I felt myself blushing fiercely "Wait, how did you find out?"
"Y/n showed us the love letter he got this morning after he got it, and we recognized the handwriting." Honoka said
"You didn't tell him, did you?" I asked
"We didn't, don't worry." Kotori said "But can you at least tell us why you're too shy to say it to him aloud?"
"I guess I can." I said "I love him, but lately, whenever I want to say anything like that to him, my heart starts pounding in my chest, and I start to get embarrassed, and because of it, I try to change what I was saying into something else." As I say this, I can already feel my heart to increase to that familiar rhythm that always comes when I think of Y/n.
"Come on Umi, I'm sure you can tell him how you feel!" Honoka said, trying to cheer me on
"Thanks Honoka." I said
"Umi, do you think you'll be able to tell him how you feel soon?" Kotori asked
"What? N-no, I don't think so..." I said
"Come on Umi, if you can get yourself to tell him how you feel, then you can be lovers!" Honoka said
I felt myself blush more like that and said "Honoka, please don't be so pushy about this, it's not that simple."
"Come on Honoka, let's stop pushing Umi about this. But Umi, I don't think Y/n will wait forever." Kotori said.
After that, the three of us went to have lunch like we always do, but what Kotori said stuck in my mind. I really do want to be with Y/n, but I know if Y/n gets feelings for someone, then he won't be stopped just because of somebody sending him anonymous love letters. And so I tried to calm myself and prepare to write another letter to him tonight, one that'll force me to convey my feelings to him in person.

Y/n's Perspective
The next day after I got to school, I found another letter in my shoe locker, much sooner than usual. Curious as to what was up, I opened it up and found that whoever wrote the letter wanted me to meet up with them behind the school after classes are over for the day.
I took a deep breath and said to myself "I guess this is it." Today is the day I get to find out who the person sending me these love letters is. I let out a sigh and started to mentally prepare myself to have to reject the person who sent it. Because, unless it's the girl I have feelings for, then I can't accept their feelings.

Once the school bell rang, signaling the end of classes for the day, I packed my school bags and left class rather quickly. I left the class, and decided to head to where I was meeting with this secret admirer a bit early.
As I got to the meeting place, my mind was racing as I wondered who it was. It's a pretty nice day out, so I'll be fine hanging out here for a while until they work up the courage to come.
After only five minutes of waiting, I heard the sound of footsteps on grass, and I turned around to see who it was, only for a gasp to escape my lips, since the person in front of me was Umi. She's my secret admirer?
"Hey Umi." I said "So you are the one who has been sending me the letters?"
Umi was blushing pretty fiercely as she said "Hey Y/n. I need to tell you something." She then took a deep breath in an effort to regain her composure before she looked me in the eyes and said "Y/n, I love you. When I'm with you, my heart races, and this serene happiness fills my heart. You've just been so kind, reliable, and honest, and I couldn't help but fall for you.
I felt my mind start to race as I listened to her. I've been in love with Umi since my first year at Otonokizaka, and I had ended up not believing I had any chance with. I mean she's this diligent, hardworking beauty, meanwhile I'm just a normal schmuck who's not great at reading people's facial expressions, trying his best. But still, if I'm the one that Umi has feelings for, I must be the luckiest fool in the whole world.
I walked closer to Umi and took her hands in mine as I said "I love you too Umi, and I understand how you would be weak when it comes to this kind of thing. But now I want to ask you to know if you'll be my girlfriend."
Umi smiled at me and said "I'd love to."
"Hey, since you have club activities soon, maybe the two of us can walk home together after." I suggested
"That sounds great." Umi said

After club practice came to an end, I waited for Umi by the front gate to the school, and as she arrived, I pulled her into a hug. "Hey, you ready to go?"
"Don't hug me, I'm still a little sweaty from practice..." Umi said
"So? Even if I wasn't in an amazing mood today, a little sweat doesn't bother me." I said
"Right." Umi said "Now, shall we go?"
As I walked alongside Umi, we talked about whatever came to mind. It's weird, even though we're going out now, this doesn't feel that different compared to before, but at the same time, the vibe that our time together has feels so special.
When we reached the front door to Umi's home, Umi looked around, and after making sure it was just the two of us, leaned forward and gave me a peck on the cheek before blushing again, and she said "I'll see you tomorrow Y/n."
"I'll see you then Umi." I said
Umi headed into her home, and I headed off myself, content now knowing that the girl who was my secret admirer is not only not so secret anymore, but is also the girl I love most.
