"Alright, alright hello everyone, hope you are all having a great day, and today I am super excited to make the announcement, the secret announcement I have been talking about for months and its finally here."
A man's face appears in the camera at a low angle jostling back and forth as he walks. Around him the sound of a crowd echoes through a building The lights are bright, and when the camera turns you can see shops lining the thoroughfare, people walking this way and that with their suitcases hovering behind them. The camera finally turns back to the face, still at a low angle.
"So last year Adam Vir gave his big announcement how he is accepting, basically refugees, but mostly any qualified workers from earth, to set up for work the Arcadia system colonies. Providing people with jobs and homes and all of that, and I thought it was so cool that it got me thinking. Why do I need to live on earth? I mean what's the point? Why do I need to be so close to everyone else, and then that thought sort of snowballed and now I am proud to announce that...... drumroll please.... I have moved to Arcadia!"
"Here let me just turn my camera around. Guys this is so big, and I am here to share it with all of you to give you guys an idea of how it is. So I wasn't able to pull my camera out earlier but the arcadia spaceport is pretty standard, a lot of other species though, like more than I have ever seen, and guys drev are like WAYYYY taller than they look on TV. I mean it sort of makes since since the saint of Anin is like one of the most iconic portrayals of Drev and she's not very tall, but guys some of them are like nine to ten feet tall, and the Rundi, like I thought they were supposed to be like short, but they are actually really big, like I sort of thought of them like the size of those tiny dinosaurs, but no they are huge."
The camera follows a Drev discretely as she walks by. She's at least nine feet tall and the camera has to pan up to get a good look at her. Her carapace is a sort of iridescent orange/red like fire, behind her walks a Rundi, sort of shuffling on three limbs as he reads a data pad in the other hand.
"Hold on, ok, this is the port, just coming down from disembarking. Oh look up there they have skylights, I mean, it doesn't really matter, Arcadia doesn't actually have a sun, its like a wandering planet, but look!.... I think I saw soemthing glowing outside, just there."
Overhead the sky is completely dark. The light makes it difficult to see the stars through the open window but the silhouette of space jellies can be seen distantly through the glass as they pass overhead: little flecks of colored light passing by the windows. The camera pans back down to the terminal where hundreds of people move past. Some Security wears black body armor and watched the crowd evenly with cold watchful eyes.
And then there are the NeoSpartans. They stand out even here on arcadia, with their golden shields and Corinthian helmets. They wear green capes off their shoulders for the Arcadia flag. The Camera zooms in on them discretely highlighting one man's well tailored physique
"Soooo many species guys, and like.... Everyone is super ripped. Like damn even the ladies could crush me, and to be honest.... I don't mind that. I was reading somewhere online before I came here as research, and some anthropologist or soemthing has taken a look at the evolving arcadian culture, and its sort of a crazy mashup between Modern Drev, classical Roman, and early 21st century. Like they have a Colosseum where they have massive fight nights, and look over there, they have like statues and stuff I the Roman style. I guess the culture here is big on the celebration of the body, and peak wartime physicality which is a sort of fusion from the Drev and Neospartans. Look at that statue, its beautiful, do you see that, the Drev is made out of some dark stone, and the carapace is like some sort of opal. I mean I doubt its real opal, but you get what I'm saying."
The camera flips back around to look at the rest of the room, and stops on a couple walking quickly down the isle. It's a tall woman with long dark hair and her smaller companion with a blue scaly head and small feet, which work hard to keep up with his companion and her much longer strides.
Oh look over there, you got our first LFIL couple in the wild, cool cool she's like a foot taller than that..... that's a Finnari right? Ok guys here we go, almost."
A voice cuts into the video "Like stahhhhhpppp I can't even."
The camera pans around violently and the camera stops on a figure floating not a few feet behind the cameraman dark black eyes glittering with the interior light of the Arcadian space port. Ribbons flare in a halo around his body.
The starborn wears a black long sleeve shirt and dark blue blazer. He wears pristine Oxford shoes.
"Uh, are you talking to me."
The starborn moves his hands and as he does a voice emanates from a speaker on his person, "Actually I'm mocking you, I thought that would be more obvious."
The cameraman steps back slightly unnerved by the appearance of the stranger and his coal black eyes, "Look man I don't want any trouble,"
"I know exactly what you do and do not want , but I am here to regretfully inform you that you have to turn over our camera to me."
"What no, why!"
"Apparently when you decided to move to arcadia you didn't take a look at our laws, which prohibit public filming without a license or the consent of parties involved, and since I doubt you have the consent of the entire building and I know you don't have a license, you will have to hand me the camera."
"Now hold on, who even are you."
"The director of the Arcadia intelligence Agency. And as an intelligence expert, it seems to me I have found no signs of intelligent life here."
There is a yelp of protest and the camera goes dark.

"Ok, so you guys have been asking me to do this for a long time, explaining some of the interesting laws that we find on other plants and how they differ from that of earth, and I guess I wanted to start off with Arcadia, which is a very interesting planet, now system of planets that we have all probably heard of. Arcadia itself is controlled by a triumvirate, or three ruling heads, Adam Vir, King James of the Neo Spartans and Eris Vir. Now these head positions are in some ways largely symbolic but also heavily powerful. Largely the triumvirate's greatest source of control involves the shaping of the planet. Any new technology, city plans, or the addition of new species must be approved by the triumvirate, so the way Arcadia looks is primarily influenced by Adam vir. Additionally, during times of crisis, the triumvirate has full and complete control over the Arcadian military though there is a clause in the Arcadian' military form that says that a soldier can disobey any order they see as morally corrupt, or unjustifiable which means they don't have to listen to their bosses if their bosses are being dicks."
"Now the real thing I wanted to talk about because it is the most interesting is their laws on domestic violence. It's a very interesting discussion point because what a lot of humans would see as domestic abuse Is actually really common in Drev culture? Let me explain, it sounds horrible when I saw it like that, but from what I understand, on the Drev homeworld combat and war is one of the most important things to them. When you chose a partner, you chose someone who can fight along side you at your same level of experience, so as a proposal Drev will ask for what is called the right of Unarmed Combat. The two will fight each other and if they are equal or if the winner decides the fight was good enough, than they pair off. Drev like fighting each other they find it super sexy. And then you bring in LFIL couples, and occasionally you get a human and Drev pairing like Adam Vir and the Siant of Anin."
"You can look it up on vidtube, there are literally videos of them beating the shit out of each other, and its okay? But yeah, so to deal with this, protect victims of actual abuse but still not discriminate against the Drev culturally, Arcadia has soemthing called the Combat Consent law. So you can legally beat the shit out of someone as long as that person is, of age, consenting, and coherent. I like the last part because basically it means you can't duel someone who you have reasons to believe may be drunk or intoxicated. I asked a sociologist and psychologist friend of mine what this means for children who grow up in the environment and they had this to say."
"So we all know about the bobo doll experiment right, its been cited for a couple thousand years as a big show that huma children are more likely to emulated the behavior of adults through observational learning. If an adult kicks the bobo doll, than a child will do it too. Arcadia was actually concerned about this instance, and Vrul researcher by the name of Riss, heard about the bobo experiment and decided to do some longitudinal studies regarding drev, and human children over a period of time, and you do see in he first two to three years of life that children on arcadia are more aggressive, prone to hitting and kicking, however, this behavior drops off at about three years of age when empathy is fully developed in both groups. The study indicated that fighting did not negatively impact a child if the child was exposed to combat consent. Again, with the bobo doll idea, children see their parents fighting, but they also see their parents agreeing to fight before they do. It is all rather fascinating and kind of hard to believe. You can't imagine how controversial Arcadian culture can be in the professional sphere.

"Ok so a few of you guys posted asks, requesting that I react to the new natural bourn hybrids, talk about them a little explain how that is possible, that sort of thing. So for the past week or so I have been going through a few of the research papers put out by the arcadian scientists kind of to see what we have going on and if the hybrids are actually naturally conceived, and I did some digging and.... Well guys the hybrids are really naturally conceived, I didn't think it was possible but here I am wrong so let m explain. So yu know when the whole void outbreak was going on, and everyone off earth and certain populations on earth had to get vaccinated against the void. Well one of the only ways to do that was to inject a retrovirus into human DNA that gave it Lumin or Mike genetic markers. I don't really know why but for whatever reason they are not recognized by void viruses, but the only way to integrated their foreign genetic code into human genetic code was to use Adaptid DNA which allows for the body to integrate new DNA into itself no matter the source. When this shot was given, the people who took it had their DNA altered by the adaptid DNA and this was primarily in the cells like sperm and eggs. If two different species take it and then mate with each other the resulting genetic code is run by adaptid DNA which changes how the two genetic codes interact creating a viable splice between the two."

He's actually pretty cute, looks mostly human, but you see, an extra set of arms. Wow this kid is going to have insane back muscles. I wonder how all of that works."

Adam shrugged, "Welcome to humanity Conn. Surprised it took you this long to get angry at us."
