˗ˏˋChoosing The Villainess As My Mother ࿐ྂ
»»🦋»»
Althea Melody 'Fern' (POV)
Mother Cynthia has left, and I've had my breakfast. The place is busy, and I'm staying out of the way. I don't want to cause any problems.
Even though it seems like I've got everyone on my side, I'm still working on making sure they really like me. People's feelings can change quickly, so I need to be careful. Doing something that upsets them could make them not like me, and we wouldn't want that, right? So, it's important to be cautious of the people around us.
Besides, it hasn't been a week that I have stayed here, I still really need to be cautious around them.
At fourteen, I'm pretty clueless about navigating life in this era. I lack knowledge in these matters, you know?
I never imagined finding myself trapped inside my older sister's storybook, let alone the first novel. Despite that, I'm giving my all to survive here. What's more, my mission is to ensure that my favorite character doesn't face the same fate she does in the novel. It's quite a challenge, but I'm determined to see it through.
I have this belief that not all the villains in a story are inherently wicked or bad. Some are just broken and have chosen the path of being a villain because they believe it's what the world expects of them.
I refuse to accept that my favorite character in this world will face a tragic ending just because a female character who has been reincarnated appears in this world. It's something I won't let happen.
I know not all main female characters are bad, but I can't accept having a villain in a story where someone has gone through a tough and unfair life.
In the novel, my lady is wrongly portrayed as a villainess just to make the female lead seem innocent. But my lady is not bad; she was never a villainess to begin with. If only Grand Duke Luk Van De Roos had raised her with care, love, and attention.
If Grand Duke Luk Van De Roos had been a caring father to my lady, similar to how he was a loving father figure to the female lead, things might have turned out differently for her.
She wouldn't have ended up like this, facing the unfortunate end of her miserable life. That day wouldn't have been her last if only she had received the love she needed from the grand duke.
I know what I'm saying because I read my older sister's story first. The novel starts with my lady, who is portrayed as the villainess.
I understand how my lady wanted to convey that she was tired and needed a short break, even if it was just for five seconds.
My lady's life was going well when she was born, but when she turned five, her mother passed away due to an illness.
I don't want to develop resentment towards the female lead in my sister's novel. She's actually a nice character, but I can't help feeling a bit frustrated.
She's well aware that my lady is engaged to Prince Lucien, but being the main character in my sister's story, she seems to effortlessly get what she wants just by acting adorable in front of everyone!
She's the female lead destined to become the Queen of the Lazourel Empire, joining the royal family and taking on the role of queen.
Sure, let's offer her congratulations on her journey to become the Queen of Lazourel. I won't stand in her way, but if she decides to hinder my plans, she should be prepared for me to take action.
Both of us come from the modern world and share a similar background. Unlike this world without technology, I belong to a place where it exists.
Just like in the novel, she has her own goal - marrying Prince Lucien. Be it from their meeting that lasted for three days, whether by accident or coincidence.
I won't interfere with her plans, she wants that scoundrel? Well, she can have him! My main goal is to prevent my lady from meeting a tragic fate.
While I do love the female lead in the story, my affection for her doesn't match the deep connection I have with my favorite lady.
As I mentioned earlier, she is the female lead in the novel, and everything seems to effortlessly fall into place for her, even without uttering a single word. She can obtain anything she desires.
In contrast, my lady, the villainess, faces challenges when trying to acquire things because, according to the story, she's meant to be the character who can't possess the same things as the female lead.
Even Mr. Bosworth finds himself with the female lead, I do acknowledge her ability to navigate her way into someone's heart and I shouldn't underestimate her, considering that we both originate from the modern world.
This reason played a part in Mr. Bosworth supporting Prince Lucien, as he harbors feelings for the female lead. He took the initiative to propose and implement a plan that would incriminate my lady.
Although Mr. Bosworth is a key figure in the novel, his character is shrouded in mystery. The limited information about him in the story adds to his mysterious nature, making him a potentially formidable.
And that's precisely why I need to make sure Mr. Bosworth is totally wrapped around my finger, like he's following my lead.
I can't let him slip into the clutches of the leading lady!
(I mean, seriously, that would be a disaster.)
And in the story, due to the female lead's constant need to win over people she encounters on the street, Mr. Bosworth and the female lead rarely interact in the book.
I really need to keep a tight grip on Mr. Bosworth because my instincts are telling me he's better than Grand Duke Luk Van De Roos. However, being a butler, Mr. Bosworth likely avoids conflicts with his colleagues.
I'm guessing Mr. Bosworth would prefer handling things in a calm, private place, away from any onlookers. It's just a feeling I have, but he can be a bit complex and intimidating with that unchanging cold expression.
It would've been amazing if I could peek into his thoughts, just to get a hint of what's going on inside that head of his. Yet, I'm all about respecting privacy, so I won't go wishing to dive into someone's mind... at least, not at this moment.
Oh, wait a minute! I almost forgot about someone important. I have this mission to snag that dragon and make it my trusty sidekick. Gotta keep that in mind, amidst all the other swirling thoughts.
You wouldn't believe how strong that elder dragon is in the story - it's powerful enough to wipe out an entire country! And here's the kicker: the female lead stumbled upon it accidentally. Now, I've got my sights set on making that incredible dragon mine.
I'm prepared to work my way up, befriend influential people, all to ensure that my lady's destiny is rock-solid. I'm willing to go all out!
"But wait a minute... it feels like I might have overlooked a seriously important character in the story." I muttered to myself.
"I can't remember his name, but I remember how the novel described him," I said to myself again.
"They said he has black hair and deep blue eyes. My sister even wrote in the novel that he looks better than Prince Lucien when it comes to appearance," I said to myself, and then I burst into laughter in my room.
It might sound strange, but my older sister actually made a supporting character more physically attractive than Prince Lucien of the Lazourel Empire.
The whole thing started because my older sister had this idea of turning our father into a character in her first novel. The tricky part is, I can't seem to recall the name of that important character at all.
I get it, Prince Lucien is supposed to be this top-notch guy as the main character, but trust me, I'm dead serious about this supporting character being something special.
Considering the immense power he wields, you'd think he'd be the main character, right? But nope, he's just a supporting character, making only two brief appearances in the novel. That's one big reason why his name slips my mind.
But let me spill the tea - this supporting character crafted by my older sister? He's like the military maestro, a genius in tactics and politics. Plus, here's the kicker - every royal family across different countries is scared of him. And get this, he's in the novel for just two short moments!
Everyone knows him as the God of War, and even the Royal Family of this empire is careful not to upset him. They're doing their best to stay on his good side because going into battle against him would be a losing proposition.
This guy has a lot of important people who support him, and he's so strong that it's making me question everything about myself! Honestly, he could have been the main character instead of that unpleasant person.
"Why can't I remember his name at all?! Why did he only show up twice in the novel?! He's way better! He should've been the main character instead of Prince Lucien!" I said to myself, feeling frustrated.
Anyhow, it's a relief that he and Prince Lucien aren't on good terms. Prince Lucien sees this supporting character as his ultimate foe, especially in the last scene where the supporting character makes his final appearance in the novel.
I recall that Prince Lucien was seriously upset; it was the first time he lost a duel, and it happened against his archenemy. I have this urge to burst into laughter, but I'm holding back because I don't want someone to think I've gone crazy. But seriously, the female lead tried to win this guy over.
So, in the novel, that supporting character finally shows up, and the female lead tries to win him over. But guess what? She ends up with Prince Lucien because the supporting character wasn't interested in her at all. HAHAHAHAH.
"It was the most hilarious moments in the no-" I started saying but then heard a knock on my bedroom door.
" ... "
"My lady???" I smiled upon hearing Mr. Bosworth's voice.
"Mr. Bosworth, feel free to come in!" I exclaimed while lying on the floor, my eyes fixed on the door, eagerly awaiting his entrance into my bedroom.
