ASTRIA REGULUS BLACK handed her father a cup of peppermint tea, which he took with a pained smile. She sat down next to him, the old couch creaking a bit. It was a full moon tonight, and even with the Wolfsbane potion Remus still fell ill each time. Astria did her best to help him, but there wouldn't be much could do until a few months from now, so instead, she offered whatever comfort she could and helped her dad without anything he needed.

"You know you'll have to go to class at some point right," Remus nudged his daughter, from where they both sat on the couch in his chambers the school provided for him and the other professors. The room was cozy, the way Remus liked to decorate. Plants hung everywhere and candles burnt giving the room a sage aroma. The man looked beyond tired, but the girl knew even if he tried to sleep he wouldn't have much luck with it.

Astria shook her head, "Yes, but I don't want to," she pushed back because the class she was supposed to go to was DADA, which her father told her was being taught by Snape while he was gone. And Astria was not fond of Snape at all, and to make it even better he positively hated her.

"Understandable dear, but yesterday when I informed you and Ace that Severus was teaching," The man started, shakily bringing his tea up for a sip, "Ace made you promise you wouldn't skip," He pointed out, "And you told him you wouldn't," he tried to take another sip of the tea, but his hands shook so much he sighed and bought the cup down into his lap.

It had been a month since they had told Ace about his parents, and it had been bumpy but they had all done their best. Ace struggled with everything he had learned for a time after, and he still did. But the boy had also spent a lot of time with his new family, even sitting down and talking to Draco about how they were related.

However consequently Ace had been going to see Remus one day during lunch, which he and Astria did most of the time. But this time Astria had been with Sage, Goerge, and Fred, setting up a prank in Snape's office, while he was out doing something. However unknown to them the thing he was doing was giving Remus his monthly batch of wolfsbane potion. Which resulted in Ace walking in on their conversation. In the end, Snape left looking full of himself, and Remus explained to Ace what he was, and how it happened. The boy took the information with grace, and Astria was starting to notice he did that a lot. Even when they told him about his parents, he didn't just react. He responded instead, thinking his situation through and seeing the good in it.

Since this was the first full moon, he had spent much time with Astria researching something she planned on being done in a few months. Vowing to help, and even join her. Beyond that he also did what he could to help Remus, and most likely would be with her now if he hadn't spent his breakfast helping Neville pot his Monstera.

Before Astria could respond there was a knock on the suit's door, and even though it seemed to the person had been purposely soft about it, Remus still flinched, "His ears must have been burning," The man spoke, his voice wavering as Astria went to open the door.

"Hello Ace-" She tried before getting cut off.

"You-" It pointed a dramatic finger at her, "said you wouldn't skip,"

Astria gave him an innocent smile as her father laughed a little in the background, "Well technically class doesn't start for," She checked the large clock on the wall across from the couch, "A minute,"

Ace rolled his eyes, running a hand through his hair, "If I'm going, you're going Tria," He said as he walked in and grabbed Astrias bookbag from the kitchen counter, sending his uncle a wave, "Remus, are you sure you don't need anything-"

The man smiled the best he could, his voice raw, "I promise I'm fine, In fact, I think I'll try to sleep. You both head to class before you get another detention from Snape," he warned, which Astria sighed at. It was true she had probably racked up more detentions from Snape this last month than anyone ever. With the number of times, she skipped, spoke up, or ignored his rules. However the number Fred, Sage, Harry, and George had been getting could rival her number.

"Okay, but only if you are sure," Astria tilted her head to the side, ignoring the fact the class had just begun and they hadn't even started heading there yet. However it wasn't a far walk, so she didn't worry about it. Ace seemed to be disagreeing with that stance, as he stood impatiently by the door.

"Positive," The werewolf promised, and with that Ace grabbed Astria's arm, tugging her out of the room, saying goodbye to Remus as he went.

"Love you dad" She chuckled as Ace went to shut the door behind then, the last thing she heard being a 'Love you too'

☽☽————- ★ ————-☾☾

They entered the now, oddly dim classroom, with Snape nowhere to be seen. And Astria half hoped he had decided not to show, but he most likely just wanted to make a dramatic entrance.

"You found her," Draco chimed up from the corner of the classroom her friends had camped out in. Draco was sitting at his normal desk, with Lysandra criss-cross on top of it. Pansy was sitting parallel to the Cights girl, legs hanging off the edge. Neville was sitting at the desk in front of Draco's, chair flipped so he was looking at his friends. And lastly, Blaise was leaning up against the desk next to Neville, facing Pansy.

Astria smiled at her friends, looking around the classroom to find Harry. Who was sitting next to Ron as the red-head said something to him, but he was staring right at The Lupin-Black girl. Curly hair wild as ever and eyes so happy to see her. Astria felt this warmth wash over her and any dull ache in her bones faded away.

They had put it together a few weeks back, the bruises only appear if they were away from each other for a long period. Which had taken many new bruises and sleepless nights to figure out. Astria had learned to feel them coming on, a dull ache to her bones and dizziness taking over her head. If it was the night she couldn't sleep, and if it was the morning she wouldn't be hungry. Her head would be light and her arms heavy. Harry said the same thing, but it was almost worse for him. His bruises were brighter and his skin more uncomfortable.

And another thing she had started to notice was the pain, whenever he got hurt, or she got hurt, it's as if the other could feel it as well. But that was beyond anything she had ever thought of. Honestly, she didn't know what the reason was for any of this.

But once they saw each other, at least just stood in a room together it would all fade away for a day or two. And if they touched it would last even longer. But Astria wasn't even slightly sure what this would mean for them if they weren't at Hogwarts, because here they see each other daily, and many times a day. But during summer or Christmas-

Well, they would build that bridge when they had to.

Ace went to sit on top of Neville's desk, snapping Astria out of her head as Neville turned his chair around to face Ace. So she gave Harry another small smile and went to follow her cousin, sitting on top of the desk on the other side of Lysandra.

"Wait, how did you know where to find her?" Lysandra questioned, pushing some hair behind her ear. Causing everyone but Astria to turn to Ace
in interest.

"I'm just smart like that," he smirked, giving Neville a wink, which the boy rolled his eyes at, his cheeks dusted pink.

Blaise looked around for a second before turning to the dark-haired girl, "Where's your dad Sunshine?"

Astria, who had definitely not been watching Harry try to build a tower with papers as Ron helped him, sighed, "He's not able to teach at the moment,"

No one asked why, knowing she wouldn't answer. (Excluding Ace and Neville who already knew), "Wait you don't think the sub will be-" Neville started,

Astria fiddled with the tiger eye necklace she wore, "Snape," She confirmed, earning herself a large number of groans and complaints from the class, who seemed to always be listening in on their conversations.

"This is going to be painful," Pansy, a Slytherin, declared. Which said a lot about Snape and his popularity among the students as of late.

As if Astria could feel the doors about to open she jumped down from atop the desk, sliding into the seat, "I already miss Remus," Ace mumbled as he did the same thing, her friends knowing when Astria did something like that it was most likely because the teacher was coming. They didn't ask how she had such good perception, they just went with it.

A beat later the door slammed open, and everyone scattered to the nearest seat. Astria watched as Ace ruffled Neville's golden hair and dropped gracefully into the seat next to him. And as Lysandra smirked and flipped her hair behind her as she jumped into the seat next to Blaise, earning herself a glare from Snape. Nothing more, of course, she was a Slytherin, after all.

He knocked down the paper tower on Harry's desk as he went, mumbling something about 'Brainless Potter boys'. Before aggressively pulling down the screen over the blackboard and dimming the lights.

"Merlin, he's extra dramatic today," Blaise whispered, throwing a little paper plane at Draco's head when the professor wasn't looking. Who caught it and threw it at Lysandra's head, who then threw it at Neville.

"Turn to page 394," Everyone watched Snape with confusion and the normal tint of annoyance. And when he finished talking the paper plane had made its way back to Draco, after Astria passed it to him, who threw it back at Lysandra, hitting her in the side of the head. The girl then grabbed a quill doodling something on the paper.

Harry cleared his throat, "Excuse me, sir, but... where's Professor Lupin?" and he snuck a glance at Astria as he did so, which wasn't uncommon.

Just then Lysandra crumpled the paper up, turning to wink at her friends before opening her hands. And a paper moth fluttered from her hands when she did so.

The professor looked overly annoyed at that question, "That's not really your concern, is it, Potter? Suffice it to say, your Professor finds himself incapable of teaching at the present time," He growled, and Astria was already ready to leave, "page 394," and as he finished the moth flew into his face, and he did his best to wave it away before turning to blow the candles in the room out.

Astria turned to the page in the worn textbook, her head snapping up the second she read the title, eyes meeting Ace's and Neville's.

"This absolutely fucker-" Ace muttered, glaring holes into the greasy-haired man's back. Astria just sat there, eyes blinking. Because who does this man think he is, he knows Astria, Ace, and most likely Neville knows about Remus. And her father is kind and gentle and full of love. But here's Snape being his usually bigoted self and teaching about werewolves the day her father couldn't come him because he was sick from the full moon.

The show turned on, flickering brightly before a picture of a large creature showed up on the screen-

     A werewolf.

"He's got to be kidding," Neville deadpanned, staring blankly at the screen. He had just opened his book, reading the title, only to close it in protest.

Lysandra, Draco, Pansy, and Blaise looked lost, "Wait why?" The Parkinson girl asked, not getting an answer from any of the angered three.

"Werewolves?" Ron called out from the other side of the classroom, confused as everyone else.

Everyone nodded along, Ace, Neville, and Astria looking very unamused, "But, sir, we've only just begun learning about Red Caps and Hinkypunks. We're not meant to start nocturnal beasts for weeks-"

"QUIET!" he shouted at the Granger girl, who had once again come out of nowhere,  "Now. Which of you can tell me the difference between an Animagus," Ace and Astria gave each other a knowing look, "and a werewolf?"

The slide switched to another werewolf, but this one was attacking. No one said anything, the class sitting in silence. The aura radiating off Astria as of the moment was enough to shut anyone up.

The moth was now flying to Harry's desk, the boy reached his hand out, pinning it to his desk. And in a dust of magic the original paper Lysandra wrote on appeared.

Snape looked full of himself, "No one, how disappointing,"

Ace rolled his silver eyes, "Yeah he doesn't seem very disappointed," he murmured, crumpling up another paper and throwing it at Neville to get his attention. Only to smile and wave innocently.

Astria sighed, her voice steady, "An Animagus is a wizard who elects to turn into an animal. A werewolf however, has no choice in the matter," She explained, a double meaning to her words. And by the look on Snapes face, he heard it.

He squinted at her, seeming very offended by her voice, "Black, who gave you the right to speak out of turn, because-"

"Well I do apologize, but you asked, and I just answered," She smiled, folding her hands together on top of the textbook. Looking over to see Harry's eyes drawn to the paper Lysandra drew on. And from the other side of the classroom she could make out a drawing of him getting struck by lightning while on his broom. The girl shook her head at her friends, bringing her attention back to the class.

He set down the book he was holding, slamming it down on her Fathers desk, "you are incapable of restraining yourself or-"

"Or what?" Draco snarked in his aristocratic way, knowing Snape wouldn't treat him the way he would her. His prejudice blatantly obvious.

Snape shook his head, swallowing thickly, "Don't speak out of turn Malfoy, and five points from Gryfindor," was all he gave, moving on from the matter after that.

Astria turned to look at the blonde, sending him a thankful smile, "As a antidote to your ignorance,  I prescribe two rolls of parchment on the werewolf by Monday morning," He stared dead straight at the Lupin-Black girl, "With particular emphasis placed on recognizing it,"

"This is bullshit," Ace grumbled at the interaction, shaking his head in protest. And Astria couldn't help but completely agree, even though she would have said it in different words. Most likely something about how this was Snapes version of a power play but really he was just proving himself ot be the bigoted, obessed, man he is.

Nevillve nodded at the boy, "Positively,"

Snape grabbed the note off Harry's desk in the background yapping on about Picasso and Quidditch, "Are you three planning on elaborating on the vague bitching you all are doing," Lysandra questioned, raising her eyebrows at them in a very Lysandra way, while getting nods from their other friends.

The three just looked at their friends, of course they didn't wanna lie but they were absolutely not telling them this, "No," Neville and Ace said at the same time, turning to watch Snape snap at Harry some more.

They all turned to Astria, who just smiled and looked back to the front of class, toning back into whatever the professor was saying, "...Until that time, however, you'll forgive me if I don't let you off homework.  Should you die, I assure you... you need not hand in."

The class rolled their eyes, and Astria assumed he was referring to the next quidditch game, which even without the snow they had been dealing with for the last couple weeks, it still looked terribly rainy. Astria however loved storms and she was actually excited for the change in weather, even if snow was supposed to come back soon after.

"Now in this film it will be focusing on Werewolves on a full moon, furthermore-" Snape started once the students calmed down a bit, but before he could go on the doors to the classroom doors burst open and one calm looking Dumbledore was now standing in the entrance.

Everyone whipped their heads to look at the old man, because it was very odd for Dumbledore to interrupt a class, much less burst through the doors uncalled for.

Serverus looked alarmed, "Albus sir, what's the meaning-"

The headmaster waved him off, shutting the man up, "I need to pull Astria away from class," not even bothering with the last name, everyone knew who he was talking about. They all went to stare at her, curious gazing burning holes in her skin.

Snape shook his head, "Sir, it's the middle of class, we were about to-"

Dumbledore smiled, "Serverus that wasn't a question," He looked at the curly-headed girl, who was sitting still as possible in her seat, ignoring her friends gazes because she was as clueless as them, "Now dear we must go, it's important,"

Astria nodded, her thoughts running fast, trying to come up with an answer to what was happening. She spared her friends a single glance, giving them a look that showed she didn't know either, before the doors shut behind her.

The hallway was cold, airbrushing over her in waves. Her fathers classroom was always warmer than the other parts of the building, "Sir, if I asked," Astria spoke as she caught up with the speed walking man, "Would I be given an answer?"

They rounded the corner, seemingly going in the direction of The Great Hall, "No need to, In a moment you'll see," He answered, and Astria did not push back. Ignoring the glances she was getting from any lingering students.

When Astria and the headmaster entered the great hall, the first thing she noticed was that it wasn't empty. A few students sat by their lonesome doing some sort of school work, the biggest group being about three 7th year Hufflepuffs. She watched for a second as the girl of the group charmed a teacup into a Snakeplant, all three quickly going to write something on their papers.

But what really caught her attention was, in the middle of the room, between two of the tables, was an elegant looking boy. His face was far away, but something about it was vaguely familiar. He sat reading a book and leaning against one of the tables. She couldn't clearly see his features, but his aura was radiating throughout the room.

It reminded Astria of Harry or herself, not that she could say much for herself. But Harry also had that aura about him, one that radiated some sort of power. It was partly built by the people around him, and the things he had fought through himself.

"I must part with you now," The old man said as he stood in the large doorway, "But that boy there is a transfer from Durmstrang, and he has something I think you'd like to hear. Well dear maybe not like, more need," And with that he was walking away, robes dragging on the floor behind him.

Astria blinked, processing what he said, before turning to look at the boy he was referring to, which happened to be the one she just pointed out.

As she walked closer Astria could see him better now, he was wearing black dress pants, an off white button up with a tan sweater vest over it, and a belt. His features were elegant, shape jawline, black curly hair, long eyelashes, strong nose, and thick eyebrows. He was around her height, probably around 14, like her, and he looked like a-

Not again, you've got to be kidding.

He noticed her as she got closer. The boy stood up straight, setting the book, simply called, 'Latin' down on the table.

Once she stopped a few feet in front of him, they stayed silent for a second, observing each other. The girl was able to notice more that he was standing in front of her, one being his deep brown eyes that were studying her slowly.

It felt as if she had seen his face before, but she couldn't place where. But what was more striking, was those brown eyes. They held a look as if he knew something huge, something that could burn the walls down around them.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Astria Regulus Black," His voice was level and formal. He seemed almost distant socially, like he wasn't blending with anything, which is something she could appreciate. She also noted how he didn't reach his hand out in greeting. It wasn't that she minded, but the little things tell you the most about a person.

The girl smiled softly, eyes warm, "And you might be?" The dark haired boy hesitated at that, and Astria caught him stimming his fingers in a pattern out of the corner of her eye. And now she could feel the stares of many students in the great hall, but they felt different this time, as if shock was laced in every one. And she might have been mistaken, but Astria thought she heard the small shutter of a camera go off somewhere in the hall.

He looked a very certain way, the same way Astria looked when someone who didn't know who she was by her face asked her name. It hardly ever happened, and if it did it was a child, or a very old person. But it was the look that showed you the person knew their name held power, good or bad, people knew it for some reason. And it was the look that showed sometimes it's better off staying silent.

His curly black hair contrasted against his fair skin, and his gaze was nothing short of calculating.

"Morpheus Monocerus Tonks," Merlin, she knew that name for more reasons than one.

Tonks, the son of Andromeda and Ted Tonks, which she was more than sure of. Because she had heard his name many times before. Not only was this boy her cousin, but he was Morpheus Monocerus Tonks. Under Astria and Harry, he was one of the most famous children- scratch that, people in the wizarding world in the last year. And now she got why he drew her eye so swiftly, she hadn't seen many photos of him. However if she didn't avoid the papers like the plague, she would see photos of him constantly. Of course not more than herself and Harry, which happened to be why she avoided the things. Even before the bombings a year ago, he was known for being one of the brightest minds in the wizarding world. Now he was spoken of as a hero, after what he did and went through, his name was known by many people.

Astria had heard about him after it all happened, she had been at school during the time and it was terrible, and it was probably the only couple weeks in her years at Hogwarts her name was the face of the papers at least three times a week. Instead she one the second page, as the first page was all her aristocratic looking cousin, a young boy who had just done the impossible.

But Astria always knew, the second it had all happened, there was something more to it than what they told everyone. There always was. And the look in his eyes, told her she was right.

"And I know Bellatrix Lestrange is your mother,"

   Here we go again.
