Malia POV:
Mom and I rushed to the hospital after what did Jessan told me. And right now while we're waiting for the doctor for they did a surgery kay Oliver daw, I asked Jessan and Oliver why did Oliver got into an accident.
"Lahat kami gustong isurpresa ka kaya't hindi namin nasagot ang mga tawag mo. Akmang pupuntahan na kami ni Oliver sa pinag usapang lugar namin para sabay na makapunta ng bahay niyo, hindi na siya nakaabot dahil malayo pa lang ang lugar ay naaksidente na siya. Kung walang ambulansyang dumaan sa harapan namin kanina ay hindi rin namin malalaman ni Keirt na may nangyare na pala kay Oliver. Sana kung sinagot lang ni isa sa amin ang tawag mo ay hindi mangyayari ito, kasalanan ko to Lia" she state as she sob.
"Shh, no one should be blamed for what happened Jess. I know Oliver is strong and doesn't give up that easily. He'll live, moreover if one of you guys did really answer the call. Malamang ay mas malala pa ang nangyare at pati kayong dalawa ni Keirt ay nadamay"
I concur while comforting Jessan and Keirt beside me. Si mommy naman ay hindi ko alam kung saan nagpunta, awhile ago ay magkasama pa kami. Maybe someone called her, she can't leave me alone naman here.
"Where's my son! Where is he!?" most of the people we're alarmed by that voice in the information which is vaguely familiar to me and discovered it was Oliver's mom.
"Ma'am please calm-" the nurse's trying make her calm but she cutted her.
"Paano ako kakalma kung nag aagaw buhay ang anak ko. I'm asking you, all of the nurses and doctors in these hospital where is my son!" she once proclaimed.
"Ma'am I need the name of your son first"
"O-Oliver De Guzman" she answered na kaagad ko namang tinawag.
"Tita!" I said and she hurriedly came to me.
"Hija, where's my son?"
Then all of us were taken aback nang biglang lumabas ang doctor ni Oliver from the operating room .
"Are you the mother of the-"
"Yes I am doc. How's my son. Please do everything just to make him alive" tita Cathy stated and cannot help to be in tears.
"Ma'am we did a brain surgery awhile ago for your son's frontal lobe literally was damaged and he's a fighter for he did make it. He'll be awake in just a few hours and after that we'll perform another surgery for his internal injuries and bleeding. We just need him to be awake to rest his brain and know that if he can still remember everything ma'am"
"And what if he can't remember us doc?" daig ni tita and believing that Oliver will forget us.
"Tita, he can still remember us. Just think positive I know him" I note and held her arm.
"There's no need to worry ma'am for in case that he can't remember. Babalik na babalik ang ala-ala nito but it takes a month or year to return" pagkasabi ng doctor lahat naman kami ay nahimasmasan but with a blend of sadness for we'll wait a month or year to him, just to know us again incase he'll lost his memories.
"T-thank you for that doc. But can I visit him right now?" tita quote.
"Of course ma'am" the doctor answered and left us.
"Tita bisitahin niyo na po si Oliver" Jessan stated and tita Cathy answered her with a nod then proceed inside the room where Oliver is.
Tita was the first who entered the room at hinayaan muna namin siyang bisitahin si Oliver na mag-isa. Then I was taken aback when mom's already beside me.
"M-mommy"
"I got a call from your dad lang. He said if he'll finished the pendings in the office susunod siya rito. Bigla kasing may nagpatawag sa kanya" mom note.
"O-okay lang po mommy, can I ask who's with him?"
There was silence between us ni mommy. I think I know who's with dad na.
"I presume it's Eva?" I concur.
Mom just nod and held my arms, I don't know kung may namamagitan ba talaga between dad an Eva. Napaisip lang ako why every time na may mga meeting sor business trips ay palagi nitong kasama si Eva. Moreover when I asked mom a second ago it's like she already know what's happening upon them. Does dad has a mistress? Sana ay wala naman for I don't know what will happen again to our family.
"Anak" nang bigla akong natauhan sa boses ni mommy.
"Y-yes mom?"
"Are you okay? It's look likes you're lost in your own thoughts"
"I-I'm fine ma. By the way Oliver will be awake in just a few hours, kakaopera lang sa kanya ng mga doctor and when he's awake, I don't know if he can still remember us or forget us then he'll proceed for another surgey" I declare and was about to cry.
"Is he your boyfriend honey? Mommy will not be mad"
Hearing those words from mom made me too stunned to speak as if Jessan and Keirt na nasa likod ni mommy.
"Uhm more likely to be my-" when the door suddenly opened and it was tita Cathy na kalalabas lang.
"You can visit him na Lia and friends" tita declare while sobbing.
"Oh Irene, you're also here. Sorry for my look as of now" dagdag pa nito.
We just proceed sa loob while mom's comforting tita Cathy outside.
"Magpakatatag ka Oliver. Maglalaro pa ulit tayo ng habulan at babalik pa sa lugar kung saan mo kami dinala nila Lia diba? Sana pag gising mo ay m-maalala mo pa rin k-kami. Kami to, mga kaibigan mong nagmamahal at nagmamalasakit sayo oh, hindi kompleto ang barkada kung wala ka. Sayang naman kung sa paggising mo ay k-kakalimutan mo na lang ang masasayang m-mga ala-ala na ginawa natin"Jessan spoke and Keirt followed naman na mas nagpaiyak sa akin because of what he said.
When it's already my turn, Jessan and Keirt want me to be with Oliver alone. They suggest to left me just to be peaceful of what I'm gonna say to Oliver.
"S-sure Jess. If he's already awake I'll call you na lang outside" I quote and they're already gone inside of this room.
"H-hey" I remarked upon him and hold his hand.
"I don't know if you can hear me or what. But I just want to tell you that you're God's strongest warrior I've ever known. If you can't remember us when you wake up, it's okay. For we're going to make new memories until makakabalik na ang mga ala-ala mo. We're going to dance under the stars and moon right? And you know what? When we met, it's not love at first sight for me exactly, but familiarity. Like oh, hello, it's you. It's going to be you. And when we're already bond, I already feel the serenity upon you. Because you make me feel things I didn't believe in anymore. I didn't want to fall in love or need someone at the first place naman talaga, and I didn't want anything. But then, you appeared and I started wanting everything. And there's something about you I literally can't explain. But whatever it is, it makes me want you in ways I can't describe" banggit ko and was shocked when his eyes slowly opened with tears. He can hear me pala, and wen I was about to call the doctor telling that Oliver's already awake. He suddenly hold my hand.
"Hey, I'll just call the doctor. Everythings going to be fine" I stated pero pinigilan pa rin ako nito then he wrote something with his fingers on my palm. Perhaps he wants something to say.
"Zero, z-zero, seven. W-what? Why-" then he wrote it again.
"Zero, zero, seven?" I asked upon him and he respond just with a nod.
"What do you mean-. Oh God!" I declare and aggressively let go of his hand to call a doctor.
"He's awake!" I remarked and didn't care if I'm that loud in the hospital at ang doctor na nakasalamuha namin kanina ay kaagad na pumunta sa loob. On the other hand tita was already happy for she thought Oliver's state is already stable, but she's absolutely wrong.
Seeing Oliver in his state right now made me down into sadness. But what else can I do, for just to have faith and pray that he's going to be alright.
"We have you here Oliver, hear me we have you. We'll fix this just stay with us" the doctor concur that made of all us alarmed specially tita Cathy.
"W-what! Wait! What happened to my son doc? You said if he's already awake everything's going to be alright but what is this!?" sambit ng mom ni Oliver na may halong pangamba na tila ba halos lahat kami ay nanginginig na sa mangyayare.
"Oliver!" tita said and was about to approach Oliver but the nurse abruptly stopped her.
"Ma'am you need to calm down and halina po kayo sa labas and let us do our job lang po. We promise you that we're going to do everything just to be sure that your son is going to be okay" the nurse remarked at pinalabas na kami ng room for the doctor's are already attaching some tubes to Oliver. Then his gaze shifted upon me, nabigla ako when his tears are already falling while looking at me. I can't do anything but signaled him that please stay and you can do it. Nang unti-unting nawala ang paningin nito and fall asleep which made me pity him.
"BP and pulse ox are dropping. We need to perform the surgery right now" the doctor said pero pinigilan ito ng isa.
"No! There's no chance to make him alive if we're going to perform a surgery. He's already in comma right now" then a lot of nurses came to the room.
"His heart's not beating"
"Check the pulse"
"There's no pulse rather" all of with me right now dito sa labas ay nagsi iyakan na while mom's still comforting to tita Cathy. God please don't take Oliver this early.
The nurse inside is just continuing to cpr Oliver.
"How much longer till the next pulse check?" the doctor asked.
" 30 seconds doc"
"Oliver!" hindi na napigilang sumigaw ni tita Cathy while Oliver's fighting for his life.
"Check pulse, the next pulse check if there's still no pulse. We're gonna shock him. Gonna try something shock it hundred and fifty joules" the doctor declare.
"P-please s-stay Oliver" I quietly whispered to myself and coudn't hold my tears anymore. On the other hand, Jessan is comforted by Keirt.
"Preparing to shock" the nurse stated and turned on the defibrillator.
"2 minutes. No pulse"
"Everyone clear? Shocking!" then Oliver's body came up and I thought his already fine pero his pulse's still not functioning.
"Still no pulse doc"
"Clsi temperature?"
"Low fifty's doc"
"Temp is up to ninety degrees"
"Care to get that epinephrine?"
"Epinephrine is in" the nurse answered.
"Epinephrine 0.38 milligrams" the other nurse state.
"Please fight Oliver" the doctor declare.
"How much EPI we've given?" dagdag na tanong nito.
"8 dosage doctor"
"Still no pulse doctor" then the doctor was too stunned to speak for even they already did everything Oliver's still unconscios.
"Prepare to shock again" he declared.
"Two minutes" the nurse note.
"Still no pulse doctor"
"Everybody clear. Shocking!" and here it is again, Oliver's body came up because of the electricity that supposedly to awake him.
The nurse was about to cry when she said there's still no pulse.
"Temp is up to 95 degrees" the other one remarked.
"Total time is 45 minutes doctor" she added and even there's no pulse to be found on Oliver, the other nurse didn't stop to perform cpr upon him.
The doctor was quiet for a second until one nurse called him to what more they can do.
"Doctor Omaley?" daig ng nurse.
"T-there's uh, there's nothing more we can do" the doctor replied while shooking his head which made me shattered into pieces. But the other nurse's still continue doing cpr upon Oliver while he's on tears already.
The doctor take a deep breath to state the final sentence.
"Time of death 11:11 pm" he said.
"No!!" tita Cathy shout and aggressively went inside the room while all of us here, can't believe on what just happened.
I was too stunned to speak and cannot concur of what I feel right now. I'm in pain again, I lost someone who made me feel I'm special and rooting in me to the things I believed I couldn't do. I just want to vanish at the moment also.
"A-anak" mom was in tears also while came to me and suddenly hugged me.
"M-mommy" I respond and hugged her back while crying also.
