Once Jimin comes back to his apartment he finds it too quiet given he has three drunk people in here. Even though Jimin had a glass or two himself he has a great tolerance unlike the red faced hoseok who is passed out on his couch, or the two others who are probably passed out by now.
He found y/n standing alone on the balcony. She looks troubled but beautiful as always.
"I left them in your apartment....they are doing well" she only nodded without looking at him "what is it?..... something is bothering you right ?"
He sighed once he didn't get any acknowledgement, walking towards the door.
"Do you think I am ignorant?" He stopped before he could reach the door, once he turned around he found the girl was finally looking at him with a blank face but somewhat sad eyes.
"What do you mean, Y/n??...I think you are very caring and responsible. What are you talking about?" He walked back towards her and this time all her attention is on him, it makes him feel things he doesn't want to feel right now.
"Yanghi....she is my friend. My best friend, how did I never realise that she was suffering so much all alone by herself?....As a friend I should have known all this shit had a bigger effect on her then she let out ..... I think. I think she likes yoongi...romantically?.....but hasn't realised herself and that's why she is hurt...but I never cared. I am the worst friend ever I am always so ignorant and rude I am-"
"If you don't shut up right now,I'll kiss you quite" y/n's breath hitched at his words, eyes widening but she decided to stay silent.
Jimin really didn't expect to blurt that out, maybe it was the alcohol in his system or maybe it's the look of vulnerability and uncertainty in her face that gave him the courage to continue.
"You aren't ignorant y/n and never a bad friend. You are a good person, a very good person" she just kept staring at him as he continued "you are just very clueless sometimes. Specifically in the romantic department "
"Don't worry y/n it's not your fault. You yourself said she didn't let it out so how were you supposed to know?....maybe now you can help her figure out things " he smiled when she nodded still looking at him
"Wait! ....what do u mean by romantic aspect ?" Y/n brows furrowed and nose scrunched in a cute pout as Jimin began to laugh like crazy at her question, his eyes were shut as tears began to gather at the corner as he clutched his belly laughing "what's so funny !?"
"Oh y/n. You have no idea do you ?" All he got is a huff "do you even know how many .... admirers do you have in our uni alone ?"
"What? What admirer?"
"Hmmm.... people. Who wants to court you. Date you. Ask you out or just simply admire your courage and personality" there is a glint in his eyes which y/n doesn't recognise she is confused hella confused, why in the world would she in all people be admired? There is nothing admirable about her. She is just her and she said as much
"What do you mean there is nothing admirable about you? Do you remember when you were in freshman year of college, very new here and you literally dragged a senior year student through the entire corridor to the principal's office because he was bullying a kid?"
"W-well...yeah but-"
" I have had a crush on you since then, more like half of the boys in the campus did....but then I got lucky to be paired with you to help with your special paper and do you remember how nervous I was that day when I first met you?..... No matter how much I would drop the hint about my feelings you would never understand it. I once even sneakily asked you out for a date and you agreed I was so happy I took 1hr deciding should I wear a black or blue shirt, should I part my hair from side? middle? Or should I just let it fall....my roommate back then, Namjoon hyung, got frustrated and kicked me out ...... I went there half an hour early because I was so excited only for you to come with all the heavy books and notes because you thought I asked you out to discuss the assignment for your special paper" he remembers how she came that day and was slightly annoyed because Jimin went there unprepared when he himself asked her to discuss the assignment, he lightly chuckled at the memory. Back then, it took him a whole week to realise that she didn't politely rejected him in her own (very weird) way but she was really clueless to his advances
"Well...since then the crush grew stronger and stronger as I got to know you more.....figured flirting is the way to go but that too got me nowhere " when he looked up back to her face there are so many emotions in her face confusion, worry,happiness, shyness but the most prominent is the guilt.
" Then w-why are you telling me this now ?"
"You know why y/n"
"Are you .... perhaps...c-"
" Yes I am confessing to you y/n because I don't think your clueless self could ever figure this out on your own" he smiled at her as he noticed the rising panic inside her "Don't worry you don't have to answer right now. I can wait for you to figure it out ..... I am not expecting a 'love you' or something but this time. If you agree, I would like to take you out on a date "

"What is a mate hyung? " Jimin had long left them here and now the bunny is really curious about what caused all this ruckus...it also made his yoongi hyung so sad.
"Jungkook-ah .....I think-"
"It's okay..... I think they should know too" yoongi himself cut off seokjin who was trying to tame the bunny's curiosity because the black cat already seem very sad
" Mate is someone your human side loves romantically and trust and your animal instincts finds them compatible....well that's what y/n told me " he shrugged but it made the rest of them, including jin more confused.
"You mean our ears and tail find them compatible and the rest of us love them?" The blond cat finally spoke up as he was getting more and more confused and this made the back eared cat crack a smile.
"No tae...we are hybrid. We have both human and animal senses both inside and out....like you have some animal instincts right?" The blond nodded in a yes "it's like that too"
"Hyung, how did you know Yanghi is your mate ?" The curious bunny looked at him with wide doe eyes full of curiosity.
"Well .....about that. I am curious too. Sorry, if you don't mind.....it's the first time I saw someone with a mate ...let alone a human" the eldest said looking at the cat.
"T-thats ....that's the thing .....it was a feeling.....I never had earlier....... It's....she started smelling so good ....I mean too good ...too alluring....and somehow it caused my rut but it was ...Different than normal rut.....I ...err....just didn't wanted a relief.....I wanted to claim her and there was this feeling.....but apart from the haze of rut....I had a urge to protect her. To be with her..like forever ....needed her like .....like one needs air.....I mean I still do.....but....yeah....I just somehow...ended up calling her a mate ...also my tail is wrapped around her...so..." he trailed off without knowing how to finish the sentence. How to convey his feelings.
"Oh?....then how would I find my mate?...my tail can't wrap around anyone...it's tiny " jungkook pointed at his small fluffy tail with a sad pout
"I think you will know when you know kook....and now I think it's best if we take-"
"Hyung!!" The blond cat who was quiet till now cut off Jin's attempt to divert the conversation again.
As they looked at the cat's face....there was a look of horror , worry, surprise, disbelief and fear in his eyes.
"But hyung....Y/n ....I trust her a lot and want to be with her forever too"
" I think it's different tae-"
"But I wrap my tail around her every night when we are sleeping.....I wanna live with her forever. And she smells the best in the entire world......i don't like it when she has someone else's smell on her....does that mean she is my mate ?"
"OH MY GOD!!"
"WHAT!!?"
"WOW CONGRATULATIONS HYUNG-" the bunny started until he looked into the eyes of the other two hyung's "oh!...umm... not a congratulations then.... nevermind"
After a while....as the others are still thinking of how to respond. It's yoongi who cleared his throat and looked at his dongsaeng with sad eyes.
He never wished his younger friend to suffer the same heartbreak that he was facing .....well in Taehyung's case things are more complicated than himself (since Tae is age regressed ) but he has to tell him the truth
"I wish it wasn't true tae...but I think it is ...Y/n is your mate....and she should never know that ....EVER!"
