Like a sheep standing at the door of a wolf's house, you would appear in someone's view, if someone was to know of the true reasons that you had ended up standing before this huge gate, with Jungkook by your side who was nothing but a mare stranger to you.
He slide down the window of his car and scanned a card that opened the gate for you and let you through. As the vehicle drove further inside, however, you contradicted that previous thought of yours for you were no sheep. All you were was a fox discussed as one for you weren't planning to get out of this place, without having something big at hand.
This was the biggest opening you had ever had so far and as such, you had decided to make the most of it, even though you were sleep-deprived and you dozed off at least twice while on the road there. Even Jungkook had taken notice of your condition and had stopped by so you could grab a coffee to wake you up a bit more.
Usually, you wouldn't have been like this for when working you were on the move and getting sleepy wouldn't last enough for your eyelids to close for long, but after you had exited that shop he dropped you at to buy a dress and returned to his cosy and warm car, the ambient had stared getting to you.
"Stay as close to me as possible all the time and no matter what, don't leave me alone with that woman." He clarified once more as he brought the vehicle to a halt before a man that you guessed to be the valet, judging from his clothes.
Jungkook stepped out of the car first and tossed to the young man his keys then walked and opened the door for you, which you had waited for him to do, just because you had guessed that he would like to appear caring or something.
"This may sound a bit weird to ask but...how much do you pay your manager for him to be having such a house?" You whispered at him as soon as you stepped out of the car and he proceeded to close the door behind you, before placing your hand on his arm and looking your way.
"Obviously his money income doesn't rely only on his work with me. He usually says that he won this house at a lottery action. I never really believed him though." He spoke lowly as you walked further together, the door before you getting opened by some maids that were standing at each side of it.
"I don't to be the one to break it to you but he doesn't seem reliable to me. Isn't someone' manager supposed to be trusted?" You plastered a smile on your face and slipped those words under your teeth for after the door had opened, you were presented with some other worker that welcomed you and as thus you both bowed to him, before following him to whatever room he was guiding you.
"I have tried changing my manager many times with no success. My company's Ceo favours him way too much."
"And you never wondered why?" You raised your eyebrow at him for if it was you, you wouldn't have rested till you were to find what was the reason his boss favours that person so much, for obviously there had to be a reason and a very strong one at that.
"Of course I did. But I never managed to figure why no matter what I tried." Jungkook admitted and you couldn't help but smirk for you thought that tonight sure was his lucky night for he had brought you along.
My powers better shine tonight.
You thought right before the sound of music started reaching to your ears and as the realization hit that you were approaching more and more to the room - which you imagined to be full of people- you composed yourself and straightened your posture, leaving the momentary feeling of anxiety creep inside you.
Once the worker pushed that door open, however, and the sound of music and chatters splashed against you like a huge wave, you found your anxiety washing away and in its stead settling a simple feeling of disorientation.
You sure had dolled yourself up and were wearing a pretty expensive dress that complimented you perfectly. With its emerald colour and its perfect length, which was short but not inappropriate, the design that was elegant yet eyecatching, you sure had nothing less of any other lady that was present there at that very moment but regardless of that, you felt lost for you didn't found yourself to belong among them however nor you wanted to.
Who would like to party with hypocrites dressed in fine garments, offering smiles before your eyes and knives behind your back? It sure was not your cup of tea but for tonight you were gonna be just like them and you were determined to be the best hypocrite among the best, to the point that maybe Jimin himself would think better of your acting skills.
Oh well maybe that's too much to hope for but anyways, I have to play my cards well tonight.
You spoke to your own thoughts while you had followed Jungkook further inside, him looking happy to be there as he proceeded to greet some people you encountered on your way.
"Oh, such a surprise. I didn't know you would be here too." He claimed as he hit playfully the arm of an unknown to you man and proceeded to give him a huge smile that made you think that he may really like that person but as the guy replied and offered him to join him, Jungkook turned him down claiming that he had to greet the house owner first.
"Are you good friends with that man? He seemed nice." You questioned him once he started guiding you away and he looked your way with a smile and whispered his reply. " As if. He is okay but he is annoying. We don't click but if I am to be sincere I would come off as a jerk."
You couldn't help but crack a smile at his reply, for you could totally see where he was coming from. Not everyone clicks with everyone no matter how good someone may be but the one that mentions that something is off would definitely appear as the rude one. To not say that in his case, people could also think that he is thinking highly of himself because he is famous.
"Oh, there he is. Remember, act natural." His fake smile vanished as soon as he saw his manager at a corner making you aware that he may just be more nervous than you yourself were.
"Please, I may not be an actress but I won't let you down. As a matter of fact, I will solve so many of your problems in a night that you might as well want to thank heaves for meeting me."
"There there, where is all this confidence coming from?" He couldn't help but smile at the arrogant way you spoke which was unexpected for the amount that he knew you.
"I may not fully believe what I say but I need to encourage myself. This is not easy you know." Your sincere reply had his smile turn to a small giggle before he left his hand rest on your back and patted you once and twice, as a way to encourage you silently and you took in a deep breath before you both started walking towards his manager who seemed to have already noticed you two and was looking your way.
"You sure have created a nice atmosphere. This party is gonna be a success." Jungkook played it cool once before him yet strangely the man was staring at you intensely, instead of looking at him.
"Who is this lady you brought along? Are you dating someone and you haven't told me?" He grabbed Jungkook's arm and pulled him closer to him, however thankfully you had still managed to hear what he told him and so you got relieved that he hadn't been staring at you because he had recognised you from the times you had come across him at the hotel.
"I am not dating anyone, I just brought along a date because I like her. What's the harm in that?" He replied and his manager's eyes flew back at you, making you feel slightly nervous but thankfully your phone went off and took you out of that scanning gaze full of judgement that he was having.
"Even if you like someone you can't bring her here. Have you lost your mind?"
"Why can't I, I had an invitation for two." Jungkook kept behaving nonchalantly before his manager strict gaze which he ignored as a waiter passed by and he grabbed two glasses of champaign from him, offering one to you, which you took with a smile on your face, not caring much of the unapproving words of his manager.
"Don't you know that she is here?"
"Don't you know that I don't care?"
As the two started bickering between them in a low voice so the people around them wouldn't hear them, you took a sip of your drink and left your eyes to travel around the room, in order to inform yourself better of your surroundings, but as you did that, you couldn't help but take notice of a certain someone which you weren't expecting to see at this place tonight.
A woman that you knew as Jimin's psychologist and Jin's girlfriend.
What could someone like here want to a rivals party?
