Monday, october 5th 2019 Joe POV
It was an ordinary monday morning. I got up took a cold shower, brushed my teeth and went downstairs. Upon arriving I saw all of KDA already awake. Ahri was checking new outfits online, Akali was scrolling on her phone and Eve was reading while Kai'sa was cooking breakfast.
Joe: Morning.
Akali: 'Sup.
Evelynn: Good morning darling~
Ahri: How'd you sleep?
Joe: Good. What's for breakfast?
In the past week the girls and I have gotten pretty close to the point where we eat breakfast together.
Kai'sa: Pancakes.
Joe: Can't wait.
Ahri: Hey Joe, you got any plans this afternoon?
Joe: Not really. Why?
Ahri: We're going shopping.
Joe: And you're telling me this why?
Ahri: You're coming with us of course.
Oh brother.
Joe: Do I have to?
Evelynn: Of course you do, that wardrobe of yours is just horrendous.
Ahri: The pants are fine, but the oversized hoodies need to stop.
Akali: And you need a haircut.
Seeing that there was no way I was gonna win I just sighed.
Joe: Fine, when are we leaving?
Ahri: Between 2:30 and 3pm. That good with you?
Joe: Sure.
Kai'sa: Breakfast's ready!
We all headed to the kitchen to see five plates filled with pancakes, sat down and started eating.
Joe: Kali, stop hogging all the syrup.
Akali: Sorry smokey.
Joe: Smokey?
Akali: Yeah, it's your nickname. Don't like it?
Joe: No, it's fine. Just don't overuse it.
After breakfast I sent a text to Taric,
Joe: How's Fight Back coming along?
Taric: Should be out today, anything else planned?
Joe: One more then we'll take a bit of a break.
Taric: What do you have in mind?
Joe: It's time for the king to take his crown.
Taric: I like the sound of that. I'll get it done, have a good one.
Joe: You too T.
I put away my phone and went to class. After four hours of lectures I returned to the dorm, ate some samyang x2, downed a pepsi and went to my room. I grabbed my guitar, plugged it in, turned on the amp and cringed at how out of tune the guitar was.
One tuning session later
After the dreadful task of tuning my guitar I put on my headphones and started shredding. After fifteen minutes or so I decided to make a guitar cover of
POP/STARS. I plugged my laptop into the amp and started up the song and played along.
After I was done I looked up to see the girls standing in my doorway and recording me. I instantly became a blushing mess.
Joe: How long have you been standing there?
Evelynn: Since Gumiho's first part.
Wait, but I have headphones on! I looked at my amp to see that my headphones....weren't plugged in. Great.
Akali: Don't look so embarrassed that was lit.
Ahri: She's right. It's a compliment to hear someone play to our song so well.
Kai'sa: So what are you gonna play for us next?
Joe: Nothing. I can't really play when people are watching me.
Akali: So talking is fine, but playing guitar is a big no no?
Joe: Kinda. You guys are the first to watch me play guitar.
Ahri: Not even your family?
Joe: Nope. So when are we leaving?
I just got confused stares.
Joe: You wanted to go shopping?
Ahri: Right! We can leave whenever you're ready.
Joe: Let me just pack all this stuff up and I'll be downstairs in a minute.
One by one they left.
Ahri: Keep up the good work.
Evelynn: That was lovely darling~
Akali: I'll get you to play for us one day.
Kai'sa just gave me a thumbs up.
I packed up and followed them downstairs.
Joe: So at what time is the bus coming?
Ahri: Bus? What bus?
Joe: To get into the shopping district. Unless you wanna walk there?
Evelynn: We're gonna use my car darling~
I didn't even know she had a car. Welp, that's gonna be an uncomfortable ride...
Akali: You guys use the car, I'll use my bike.
Can she read minds ir something? I was so focused on my thoughts that I didn't notice them start to leave.
Evelynn: You coming darling?
Joe: Coming.
We made our way into the garage, I didn't know we had a garage. Where I saw a beautiful charger with the license plate 'DIVA' guess that's Eve's car. Next to it stood an amazing ducati.
Akali: What do you think?
Joe: They're beautiful.
Akali: Wasn't what we asked, but thanks anyway.
Joe: Did I space out again?
Kai'sa: Yeah, we just asked what kind of clothes you'd like.
Joe: I don't know, I'm not the pickiest when it comes to clothing.
Evelynn: Yes, we've noticed.
Ouch.
Akali: Relax. That's why we have Ahri here. She's got an eye for that stuff.
The car ride was smooth and as we got to a mall the girls had to sign the occasional autograph and take a few pictures, other than that it was quiet. We entered a store that was a bit more on the expensive side and Ahri took a long look at me.
Ahri: Hmmm.
I looked to the rest.
Joe: Is she always like this when it comes to shopping?
Akali: You get used to it.
Ahri: Okay, the pants are fine. You're gonna need some jackets. A denim vest would also work.
Ahri started running around all over the store.
After a while we all went to the dressing room and Ahri handed me clothes before pushing me inside.
Ahri: You try out the clothes and we'll be the judges.
Stepping into the changing room I looked at the pile of clothes. There were two red flannel shirts. A red jacket, a white jacket and two denim vests. Putting on the first set I stepped outside to see the judges.
Joe: How is it?
Ahri: It's good but....
Evelynn: Something's missing.
Akali: I got it! Be right back!
She dashed out and returned not two minutes later.
Akali: Here.
She hands me a red beanie and I just put it on. I looked at the girls and they gave an approving nod. I headed back into the changing room. I changed into the second set and stepped out, giving them a bit of a show earned me a few laughs.
Ahri: Looks good, get changed an we'll head to the register.
Stepping in and out of the changing room for a final time. I headed to the register, handed the employee the clothes and he scanned them before putting them in a bag.
Employee: That will be 420 dollars sir.
I pulled out my credit card before Ahri put her hand on my arm.
Ahri: Can you really afford that?
Hey! What's that supposed to mean?
Joe: Uhm....Yes?
Ahri: No way. We brought you here so we're paying.
Seeing as she wasn't letting go of my arm and kept strengthening her grip, I knew I wouldn't win.
Joe: Fine....have it your way.
Ahri: Thank you!
She gave me another one of those cute smiles. I just grabbed the bag and we got out of the store.
Joe: What now?
Akali: Haircut!
She started pushing me towards a barber shop. I sat down on one of those fancy chairs and the barber asked me how I wanted my hair.
Joe: Short, but not too short if you know what I mean.
Barber: I gotcha. Just tell me when It starts to get close okay.
I just nodded and he started cutting my hair. His flirting with the girls was a bit annoying, I would've preferred if he focused a bit more on his work, but it worked out in the end. As I went over to pay Kai'sa beat me to it. This is gonna be a recurring theme today isn't it?
Joe: Now?
Evelynn: Shoes.
We entered a shoe store and a worker came up to us.
Worker: Hello ladies...and gentleman, how can I help you today?
Evelynn: Bring me some Nike Air Max Plus.
Worker: Size?
Eve just looked to me
Joe: S-S-Seven.
He disappeared into the back and came with a pair of black and gold shoes. I started walking to the register only to see Eve already standing there. She just stood beside me, how did she get there so fast?! We exited the store and I looked at the girls.
Joe: So where to now?
Kai'sa: You need a watch.
I do?
We walked to a watch store and as I looked at the name I froze. We are NOT going in there.
Joe: Okay, no. We are not going in there.
Ahri: What do you mean?
Joe: 400 bucks for clothes or 180 for shoes I can accept, but I am NOT going to let you buy me a Rolex.
This is where I draw the line. I'm not gonna let anyone buy me a 30 grand watch.
Akali: Fine....I'll just buy you something else then.
Wait...did she just say that she was gonna buy it for me? Not them, but she? How much money do they have?! I knew I shouldn't have released my songs copyright free.
Joe: So, where are we heading instead?
Akali: Bike shop.
I don't like the sound if that.
Joe: Please tell me you're not gonna buy me a motorcycle instead.
Akali: No, just a helmet.
Ok?
Joe: But, why?
Akali: We're gonna go on a ride later and I don't have a spare.
Oh.
Joe: Ok.
I just picked a random all black helmet and she payed for it. We were about to go back to Eve's car when my phone rang. I looked at it and saw Vero was calling.
Joe: Hold on guys, I gotta take this. Hello?
Veronica: Hey, I'm currently in Piltover. Wanna meet up?
She didn't sound all too happy.
Joe: Sure, but why do you sound so upset?
She let out an exasperated sigh.
Veronica: I was supposed to have a photoshoot/fashion show for Leblanc, but my partner bailed so now everyone is getting ready to pack up. God this was such a waste.
Joe: Don't pack up yet. I might have a way to help.
Veronica: What do you mean?
I looked at the girls to see that they weren't paying attention.
Joe: How does a photoshoot with KDA sound?
Veronica: Kid I swear if you're pulling my leg on this I'll make you regret it.
Joe: No joke. Just stay on the line.
I muted the phone and asked the girls.
Joe: Hey girls? How would you feel about doing a photoshoot for Leblanc?
They all stared at me with eyes as wide as dinner plates.
Ahri: Are you serious?! I would die for such an occasion.
Joe: Well then, you should be glad you won't have to die then. You see my sister was supposed to do that big photoshoot/fashion show today, but her partner bailed. If you want you can take her spot.
I was bombarded by multiple 'yes'. I then unmuted the phone.
Joe: Okay just send me the address and we'll be there asap.
Veronica: Thanks little bro, I owe you big time.
I hung up and she sent the address.
Joe: Well, then let's go.
We went to the car, put everything in the trunk and sped towards the address. We soon arrived and I saw Vero pacing back and forth. She noticed me and rushed over to give me a hug.
Veronica: Good, you're here. Did you really manage to get KDA here.
Joe: Look behind me and find out.
She looked and saw them standing there with nervous expressions on their faces.
Veronica: Thanks a lot for doing this, we thought it was over. I'm Veronica, Joe's sister.
Ahri: We're just happy to help.
What followed was the hardest forty five minutes of my life. Seeing the girls in all those fancy clothes really got to me. I'm sure Veronica saved the best outfits for the girls.
After all was done the girls looked exhausted.
Veronica: Thanks a lot Joe. I owe you one.
Joe: Not me, them.
I pointed to the girls.
Akali: Nonsense, You don't owe us anything.
Ahri: She's right, this was a big opportunity for us, so here is a token of my appreciation.
She handed Vero a black card.
Ahri: Joe told me you like my perfume, so here is a VIP card that gives you 50% off of all 'FOXY cosmetics' items you buy.
Veronica: Thank you, both for the help and the card. Whenever something like this comes up again I'll give Joe a call, sound good?
Ahri: Yeah.
We said our goodbyes and we headed back to the car.
Akali: Hey Joe, grab your helmet and we'll go on that ride.
I just nodded and grabbed the helmet.
Kai'sa: We'll leave your stuff in your room. You two have fun.
I put on the helmet and got on the bike. I held onto Akali and she sped off. A few minutes later she stopped at a hardware store.
Joe: What are we doing here?
Akali: Buying spray paint of course.
I couldn't help but smile. This was gonna be fun.
After buying the paint we drove to a more deserted part of the city. We hid the bike so no one would steal it and we left the helmets there as well. We walked around a bit until we found an empty wall, ripe for spraying.
Akali just handed me a can.
Akali: You go first.
I grabbed the paint and just stood there. What the hell should I draw!?
Akali: You okay there?
Joe: Yeah, it's just...I don't know what to make.
Then it hit me.
Joe: I got an idea! Name two things and I'll spray a fusion of them.
Akali went quiet and started thinking.
Akali: Okay, how about rebel and....my little pony.
What? No actually that isn't that bad now that I think about it. I shook the can and got to spraying. Akali just watched the whole time.
Joe: Aaaand done.
Akali: Holy shit...that's awesome. Didn't think you'd actually make it. Now me, gimme two things.
Joe: Hmmm. Lightning. Dragon.
Akali: Jokes on you, dragons are my specialty.
She got to spraying and I just watched amazed. She was much faster than I was.
Akali: How's that?
Joe: That's sick.
So we just played this game of naming two things then spraying it for a couple of hours. We also did some regular tagging. Sadly all good things must come to an end, we heard sirens. A police car stopped in front of us and the cop stepped out.
Cop: Stop! You two are under arrest.
Akali: Run!
So we did just that running down the street with a cop hot on our tails. Eventually we arrived on a construction site. Now for me it would be easy to lose him here, for Akali probably not so much.
We climbed the scaffolding of a building until we reached the top. The cop was still onto us so we started jumping from building to building. The cop seemed more hesitant to hop between buildings, but followed nonetheless.
After a while we came to a halt. The next building was quite a way away and it was a long way down. There was no way we could make this work...unless. We turned around to see the cop a couple of buildings away.
Akali: What are we gonna do? We're screwed.
Joe: We jump.
Akali: Are you crazy!?
I looked back at the other building it was far yes, but with my smoke thrusters I could make it thanks to the height difference between the two buildings.
I looked to Akali to see the fear in her eyes
Joe: Kali, do you trust me?
She looked at me before nodding rapidly.
Joe: Then we have to jump. Hold onto my hand.
Cop: Got you now. Nowhere left to run.
We took a couple of steps towards him before looking at each other. I nodded.
Joe: Now!
We turned around and ran to the edge. Akali grabbed my hand and we jumped. I pulled her closer and she clung to me.
I smoke dashed once and then activated my smoke thrusters to glide toward the other building. As we got close enough I smoke dashed again and we landed on the other building, sadly we had too much momentum and I tripped. I quickly turned myself around and pulled Akali close to me so I would take the fall and she would just land on me.
For a couple of seconds we just laid there breathing heavily. Then we looked at each other and Akali cracked a smile.
Akali: What a rush.
Yeah, if the adrenaline wasn't flowing before, now it definitely was. We looked each other in the eyes, before inching closer and closer before our lips inevitably meet. Was this really happening?
And as soon as it happened it ended. We looked at each other again.
Akali: Wow.
Joe: Yeah, wow.
I snapped out of it quickly enough.
Joe: We should get out of here. I don't want to wait until that guy shows up again.
Akali: He probably won't.
Joe: Maybe, but I don't wanna take that chance.
Akali: R-Right.
We made our way back to the bike, but now that the adrenaline wore off Akali tumbled a bit, probably due to fatigue.
Joe: Hey, want me to drive?
Akali: You know how?
Joe: Yeah, I have a bike at home.
Akali: Okay.
We put our helmets on and got on the bike.
Joe: Just hold on and don't fall asleep.
She wrapped her arms around my stomach and leaned onto my back. I rode off and decided that it was enough adrenaline for today so I iust took it slow. Taking in the scenery, I kept thinking back at that kiss. It was just a heat of the moment thing nothing more right? Or am I overthinking it? After twenty minutes we were back in the garage and got off the bike. I handed the keys back to Akali.
Akali: That was a good ride, been a while since I relaxed like that.
Joe: No problem.
I wrapped an arm arround her and started walking. As we arrived back at the dorm we saw Ahri and Kai'sa sitting at a table with Eve pacing around.
Evelynn: But what if they are hurt, or worse...
Joe: Hey guys. We're back.
Evelynn: It's 10pm where were you?!
Damn, time flies when you're having fun. She then looked at Akali who was clinging to me and Eve got a serious look on her face.
Evelynn: What happened? Who do I have to murder?
Joe: Eve relax. We got lost in the fun and didn't check our phones, then we had the adrenaline rush of our lives. She's just exhausted.
Evelynn: Thank goodness you two are okay.
I get why she's worried about Akali, but me? A couple of weeks ago she hated me.
Joe: Hey Eve? Don't take this the wrong way, but why were you worried for me?
Ahri and Kai'sa just laughed.
Ahri: You're quite dense aren't you?
Hey!
Kai'sa: You've grown on her, on all of us these past weeks. Not to mention that you're the only one in this team besides us that managed to befriend Eve. And while Eve may seem like the tough, bad girl, she is very protective of her friends.
Ahri: To put it another way, you're stuck with us.
A smile made it's way onto my face.
Eve just looked away.
Evelynn: I don't know what you're talking about.
Despite saying that, she had a smile on her face.
I love these guys. More importantly though....I'm starving. Then I heard a stomach grumbling and looked around and saw the girls blush. Did they wait for us for dinner. I looked at Akali.
Joe: Wanna eat or go to bed?
Akali: .....Hungry.
Kai'sa: I'll reheat the food.
I raised an eyebrow.
Ahri: We ordered from that ionian place again, but since you took so long to get here it's cold now.
I went to pull out my wallet, but Akali stopped me.
Akali: Don't. It's on me, you saved my ass after all.
Evelynn looked at us.
Evelynn: You said nothing happened, what do you mean he saved your ass?
Joe: I'll tell you when the food's ready.
A couple of minutes later Kai'sa walked out of the kitchen with our food and Ahri carried drinks. She handed me a pepsi and we sat down at the table. Akali sat next to me and by next to me I mean she almost sat on my lap.
Evelynn: So, what happened?
So I told her everything, from us buying spray paint, to the graffiti, to the chase and finally I told her about the jump. The kiss was a secret she didn't need to know.
Ahri: I'm surprised you got her to jump.
Joe: What do you mean?
Kai'sa: Akali has severe acrophobia.
Joe: She has a fear of heights?
Ahri: It happened a couple of years ago, we were at the amusement park and Akali was walking on a wall.
Evelynn: She tried to do a backflip onto the ground, but she slipped and fell. The fall almost broke her neck and she was immediately rushed to the hospital.
Joe: Then why did she have no problem climbing a building. Or jumping from building to building for that matter?
Kai'sa: Her problem isn't really the way up, but down. As long as she doesn't look down, she's fine.
Akali then snagged a piece of my beef.
Joe: Hey!
We all had a good laugh at that.
Evelynn: Back to the point, if she really jumped, then she trusts you a whole lot. You two having a lot of things in common probably helped.
Joe: We don't have that much in common do we?
Ahri: You both like music, spicy ionian food, pepsi, graffiti.....I could go on.
Kai'sa: And judging by how exhausted she is, she wasn't the one riding the bike on the way back.
Joe: I guess.
We all went quiet as we went back to eating, with Akali occasionally stealing another piece of beef. After dinner was done Kai'sa put the containers and the cups in the trash and we went upstairs. Akali was still clinging to me every step of the way it's as if she would fall if she let go.
I volunteered to tuck Akali into bed as the others said goodnight and went to their individual rooms. I entered Akali's room and closed the door and went to her bed. The entire place was a mess with ramen cups everywhere. I arrived at her bed and tapped on her shoulder.
Joe: Come on Kali, you need to let go now.
Akali: No! Sleep with me.
Seeing as there was no other way I slipped out of my shoes and laid down on the bed next to her and pulled the cover over us. As I went to turn my back to her she pulled on the hem of my shirt.
Akali: Can you uhm..can you hold me?
Hold?
Joe: Hm?
Akali: I usually prefer to be big spoon, but can I be little spoon this time?
This time?!
Joe: S-Sure.
So I turned around and held her.
Akali: Thanks.
Then she whispered.
Akali: Thanks for the date, I had a lot of fun.
Joe: No problem, we can do it again if you want.
Akali: I'd...like...that...zzz
Just like that she was out like a light. Wait....did she just say date? THAT WAS A DATE?!
I hugged her closer.
Joe: Sleep tight, Rogue.
I just laid there thinking about the past couple of weeks, until dreamland eventually claimed me as well.
Chapter 3 done. I wasn't really sure if I should leave the part with Veronica in or not. Tell me what you guys think. Feedback is always appreciated and I'll see you all in the next one. Prime out.
