Y/N and Miguel walked into their apartment complex to find Johnny balancing on one leg with the other raised high, mimicking the crane kick. "Oh, hey. Good timing. Think I've got a counter to LaRusso's bread-and-butter. I make like I'm gonna walk into it again and then at the last second, I slip under, shoulder check him in the balls, take him to the mat, elbow, elbow, elbow." Johnny rambled, panting as he showed his plan. "Point, Lawrence, winner."
"Got ya." Miguel said slowly, staring at the blonde with wide eyes. "All right. You be him so I can try this at game speed and Y/N you be the ref." Johnny instructed, patting Miguel on the shoulder before turning around. The two kids exchanged a look. Johnny glanced between them. "You guys gonna help me win or what?" He asked, raising his arms. "Uh, honestly we kind of just wish you weren't fighting at all," Y/N admitted, fiddling with the strap of her backpack.
"Yeah. Well, too bad, 'cause it's go time." Johnny said, jumping up and down. "You guys will thank me when we're done with all this kata crap and I can prepare for you for an actual fight," Johnny added, walking towards the two. "So if you win, we train Eagle Fang. There's no Miyagi-Do?" Miguel asked. "You got it, Pontiac," Johnny replied. "But what if I...don't want to stop learning Miyagi-Do?" Miguel questioned.
Y/N felt bad for Miguel. He wanted to stay loyal to Johnny and follow his teaching but he was starting to enjoy Miyagi-Do karate and how Daniel taught. Y/N was fortunate enough to receive both teachings at the same time and she knew that both men had very different methods that when put together actually balanced out. It was like the two sides of a coin. You couldn't have heads without tails and you couldn't have tails without heads.
"What the hell are you saying? You want him to win?" Johnny asked angrily, stepping forward. "No, dad, what Miguel is saying is that no matter who wins the fight, nobody really wins," Y/N replied. Johnny looked at her. "Somebody always wins. That's how fights work. All right? No matter what ancient philosophical bullshit LaRusso's been feeding you." Johnny stated.
Miguel quietly scoffed. "Ok, Sensei. Good luck." Miguel said before walking away, leaving Johnny and Y/N alone. "You gonna say something too?" Johnny asked. "No, I think I've said all I've needed to say on the subject," Y/N replied. "And what is it that you are saying?" Johnny asked. "That in the end, no matter who wins, there will be consequences. There always is." Y/N answered before turning around and walking into the apartment, slamming the door closed behind her.

Night had fallen as Johnny walked through the canvas doors of the dojo towards the sparring deck. The students all crowded him, some holding up their phones to record. "Here's here! He's here, he's here!" Chris exclaimed excitedly, brnadishing his phone in Johnny's face. "Anything you wanna say to the camera, Sensei Lawrence?"
Johnny just ignored and marched up to the sparring deck where Daniel was kneeling, dressed in his white gi and signature headband. "What are all the kids doing here?" Johnny asked as Daniel got to his feet. "That's what happens when you broadcast your life all over social media." Dnaiel replied. Johnny looked dwon at his feet.
"Alright, look, maybe there's a better way."
"there is. You just won't admit it."
"Don't you ever think you might be wrong about anything?"
"What are we doing here? You wanna rehash your entire baseless argument from last night in front of these kids?"
"No. I want what's best for them."
"What's best for them is Miyagi-Do. If fighting you is the only way I can get there, then let's just get this done."
"All right, LaRusso. Let's finish this."
Daniel nodded and walked to the edge of the deck. Johnny walked off and changed into his gi before coming back to the deck. Y/N and Sam were in charge of referring as they each held a red and white flag in their hands. "Face us." Y/N instructed. The two men turned and faced the teenagers. "Bow." Y/N said. The two bowed at them. "Face each other." Sam instructed. The two turned to each other. "Bow."
The two bowed before getting into their fighting stances. "Ready. Fight." Y/N and Sam said before jumping back. Johnny was the first to strike as he shot forward, trying to kick Daniel. Daniel blocked it easily before Johnny tried to punch him. Johnny kept throwing ounches with Daniel blocking all of them. Johnny went to throw a high punch but Daniel brought his arm up, leaving his whole chest exposed. Johnny took advantage of this and used his other fist to punch Daniel. Daniel winced in pain as the kids made noises.
"Point, Lawrence." Sam said, holding up the red flag. Daniel glanced at her before moving back to the center of the deck. Johnny got into his stance, raising his eyebrows challengingly at Daniel. "Score, 1-0 Lawrence. Ready! Fight!" Y/N said before her and Sam backed away.
Johnny brought his leg up to kick Daniel but Daniel used his leg to block it, catching Johnny by slight surprise. Daniel moved forward, acting like he was going to hit Johnny but Johnny backed away slightly. Daniel threw a punch but Johnny blocked it, using one of the moves he learned from Daniel. Johnny went to throw a punch but Daniel blocked it before bringing his foot up and kicking Johnny in the stomach.
"Point, LaRusso." Y/N announced, holding up the white flag. Johnny turned and looked at her, pain evident in his eyes. He obviosuly wasn't enjoying this. The two got back into their postions with Sam and Y/N standing between them. "Score is 1-1. Ready! Fight!"
Johnny went forward to kick Daniel but Daniel dodged it and spun around, making Johnny nearly fall forward. Johnny quickly turned and went to send a spinning kick but Daniel dodged it. Johnny tried to use a high kick as well but Daniel quickly ducked, making Johnny miss. Johnny lunged forward, trying to use his elbows to hit Daniel but Daniel dodged them.
Daniel shoved Johnny backward before ducking as Johnny swung his fist at him. Johnny brought his leg up to kick Daniel in the side but Daniel caught it before punching him in the stomach. Johnny let out a cry of anger before backing away. Y/N held up the white flag, signaling Daniel had won the point.
"Score is 2-1. LaRusso." Y/N announced. Daniel took a deep breathe before doing his kata while Johnny watched him, his fists raised in anticipation. "Ready! Fight!" Sam yelled before backing away. Johnny went to land a spinning kick but Daniel dodged it. Johnny then tried to swing but Daniel blocked his fist. Johnny tried to use his other hand but Daniel caught it and brought his hand down, hitting Johnny on his bicep.
Daniel then used his knuckled to hit Johnny's nerves, using the technique he had picked up in Okinawa. Johnny groaned in pain as his arm went completely limp, making Y/N watch in horror. What the hell did Daniel just do? "What the hell, man?" Johnny questioned. Daniel didn't care though and ran forward. Johnny went to kick his thigh but Daniel moved out of the way. This didn't deter Johnny though as he jumped up and wrapped his legs around Daniel's torso.
Johnny brought them both down before using his heel to hit Daniel in the chest, causing him to groan in pain and the kids to go crazy. "Point, Lawrence." Y/N said, holding up the red flag. Johnny rubbed his arm in pain as he rose to his feet. "Got any more dirty tricks up your sleeve?" He asked. "I'm not the one who fights dirty." Daniel spat.
Johnny rolled up the sleevs to his gi as Daniel got into postion. "The score is 2-2." Y/N said. "Next point wins. Ready! Fight!" Sam exclaimed before her and Y/N jumped back. Johnny jumped forward to kick Daniel but Daniel spun around. Johnny turned and went to throw a punch but Daniel blocked it and grabbed Johnny's arm. Daniel shoved Johnny down but Johnny quickly rolled onto his feet. He balanced on the balls of his feet as he swept his leg under Daniel's but Daniel jumped out of the way.
Johnny shot up to a standing postion and the two exchanged punches, with the other blocking. Johnny finally got a hold of Daniel and pushed him back, making him fall into one of the wooden supports holding up the deck. Daniel turned around, his nostrils flaring. Johnny went to kick him but Daniel ducked, and ran over to the side, raising his fists.
The two circled around each other until Johnny threw a punch which Daniel blocked. Johnny kept trying to throw punched but Daniel kept his gaurd up, not letting a single one land. Johnny brought his knee up to hit Daniel in the stomach but Daniel blocked that as well. Johnny went to kick Daniel in the head but Daniel blocked it before he brought up his own foot to kick Johnny.
Johnny blocked it, staring at Daniel in anger. Johnny brought his fist back just as Daniel brought back his. The two shot forward and hit each other in the head before falling to the ground. "Point, Lawrence!" "Point, LaRusso!" Y/N and Sam said at the some tome, holding up the respective flags.
The two turned and looked at each other. "Are you sure?" Y/N asked. "Are you sure?" Sam asked back. "Of course I'm sure I'm not an idiot." Y/N scoffed. "Let's check the replay." Demetri suggested. Everyone gathered around Chris as he showed the video. Johnny and Daniel but hit each other at the same time before falling over, just like they had witnessed. They both scored at the same time.
"Go to another angel." Johnny panted. "There is no other angel." Chris replied, staring at him. "Don't you guys have another phone?" Johnny asked. Y/N looked up at the sound of crunching grass to see Hawk walking up, his hood on his head and tears pooled in his eyes. "Hawk?" She questioned, jumping off of the sparring deck.
"Shit, Eli, what happened?" Demetri asked, worridely. Hawk reached up and pulled off his hood to reveal his purple mohawk to be gone. Tuffs of purple were still visible, showing evidence of what he used to be. The kids all gasped in surprise at this as he looked down at his feet in shame. "Who did this to you?" Johnny asked. "Cobra Kai." He answered meekly.
Johnny closed his eyes with a sigh. "Kreese and Silver did this. They need to pay." He stated. "Jesus, Johnny. Please. Kreese tried to kill you last time. You wanna fight them both?" Daniel asked incredulously. Y/N moved to Johnny's side, slightly glaring at Daniel. What is it with people and using their suffering against them?
"Damn right I do. Look what they did." Johnny spat, pointing to Hawk. "Dousing the fire with gasoline, that's your answer? Why am I not surprised?" Daniel questioned sarcastically, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Sensei, stop." Miguel demanded, looking at Johnny. "You still think your way is the only way. You were so proud when they pulled their little sprinkler prank the other day. But if they stood their ground and kicked some ass like I taught them, this never would've happened." Johnny stated angrily.
"And if they fight every time they're provoked, where does that lead? Back to the hospital? Or to jail? Just 'cause you spent your time in both-" Daniel started. "Enough, Dad." Sam stated, cutting him off. Daniel turned to her. "What?" He questioned. "Johnny's right. It doesn't matter how many times we stand up to Cobra Kai, if we don't strike back, they're gonna keep coming at us." Sam replied. That might be the most reasonable thing you've ever said, Sam.
Daniel looked down angrily before glaring at Johnny. "And you were worried about my influenve on your kids? Is this what you want, Johnny? To have my daughter and the rest of my students acting like you?" Daniel asked, tears brimming in his eyes. "You don't hae to worry about it anymore. 'Cause we're done." Johnny replied. "Works for me."
Y/N knew it would happen, she knew their fragile relationship was at it's tipping point but she was still hopping the two would stay together. They may not realize it but they needed each other. They needed to stick together to finally get rid of Kreese once and for all. And to deal with Terry Silver who's presence was becoming more and more prevalent in their lives. More than they could ever realize.

A/N wow this was a super long chapter but I hope everyone enjoyed. TBH I don't like writing the fighting scenes because they are tedious but I kind of enjoyed this one. I had to keep rewatching the clip over and over to get it right though. Anyway hope you all enjoyed and remember to stay hydrated.
