Come ride with me, I wanna tell you how I'm feeling
Shawty I fuck with you but it's going down in the city
All these rookies know is shoot and they been killing up the innocent
And before that day come girl, I don't wanna have you with me
'Cause I fuck with you the long way, that's why I keep my distance
So baby, don't take it personal every time I go missin'

11 days later.....

"So tell me something Vino...." Antwan paused, staring him down intensely. "What kind of man are you?"

Vino who was sitting directly across from him, made a face. "With all due respect— what do you mean by that?"

Amiré sat next to him, just listening since he had to stay out of it. The reason Vino and Antwan were meeting was because Amiré approached Vino with a business opportunity to come and join the Black Kingsmen. Of course Vino immediately shot it down as he was proud and loyal member of the 83rd Killaz but after Amiré explained some things to him, he couldn't help but to think about it.

Now here he was, meeting Antwan.

11 days ago.... *flashback*

"You know just like I know that the 83rd Killaz is a regular gang Vino. You're likely burnt out from ducking cops, committing petty crimes likes robberies, taking orders from a small minded nigga, and finding yourself losing yo members left and right. That shit not safe at all. The Black Kingsmen is more than a gang Nigga, we're damn near like the black mafia. The 83rd Killaz not even competition when it comes to the real game. I've seen millions come and go before my eyes, and I never have to touch a corner."

Vino shook his head. "I don't appreciate you speaking on my niggas like this."

"Man I'm tryna put you on game Vino!" Amiré stressed. "This shit is bigger than the gang life. We both knew what we signed up for, I'm just tryna show you there's a better way of living in it. I didn't ask to become Antwan's second in command, the shit just fell in my lap. That leaves my old role open, for any nigga to fill. Expect I get to be the one to find the right nigga to fill it. The first nigga that came to my mind is you Nigga, my cousin."

"What makes you think ima just be able to walk away from the Killaz? Especially since I helped build that shit up with Kilo. I'm not cool with just switching up on them."

"I'm not saying walk away, I'm saying expanding your brand. The 83rd Killaz was just a means to end for you, we both know that. If you come join me, we can take over together. There ain't no nigga in this world I trust more than you, and I know it's vice versa. It was just you and me in Atlanta, hitting licks and having each other's backs. You can even talk to Kilo and explain that we can set up a small partnership, that you can lead. That way you can run with me under BK and still look out for your Killaz. Hell you can have them trap that shit out, giving them a real chance." Amiré smirked, knowing he was sound real convincing.

"You're way too talented to be stuck in that petty gang life V, it's time for you to come fuck with the real streets. Where you gone have real hits, real opportunity for growth, and make hella real money. Like come on Nigga, we're in the grown men league now. Not to mention it's safer. You see how I was able to keep my two identities separated."

Vino played with his chin hair and thought about it, processing everything Amiré was saying. He wasn't lying. At times He did feel like he was stuck in a stagnant situation.

"You think Antwan gone be cool with that? A nigga he don't know from another gang just coming into y'all fold and taking over yo old role?"

Amiré shrugged a little. "Well I'm running point for everything now so it's my job to fill roles. All Antwan has to do is meet you and make sure you straight in his own eyes. He pretty chill, he just real paranoid. But he can't successfully control a whole region without being paranoid. There's a reason he made it to the top, and stayed there. Just know I wouldn't put you in a situation where you'd be fucked up."

Vino blew out some air and crossed his arms. "Man..... ima have a conversation with Kilo and see where his head at. I got too much respect for him to just walk away. Let me hold down my end of things, then ima hit you back about this. Despite the circumstances, I appreciate you reaching out to me about this opportunity. I know you must have a corner boy you could've easily put in yo old shoes— but you thought about me. That's real."

"Of course man. There's a reason our paths crossed again," Amiré smirked. "We're a log way from robbing corner stores. If we signed our rights away to the streets, at least let it make us rich."

"Filthy rich." Vino corrected, smirking back.

"There's no other way."

Vino chuckled and shook his head. "Anyways enough about business Nigga— tell me what the hell been going on with you and Tee? She was pissed off earlier after you left the darty."

Amiré rolled his eyes. "Man...."

*flashback over*

Antwan crossed his arms across his chest and leaned back in his chair. "What I mean is.... are you the kind of man that takes orders or give them? Are you a leader? Or a follower?"

"One thing you'll learn quickly about me is, I've never been a follower a day in my life. I been in the streets since I was 14, getting to whatever bag that was out there by any means necessary. Again with all due respect, that question is weak. Any nigga that tell you what kinda man he is, is likely a fed or a rat. If you wanna know what kind of man I am, just put me to work and you'll see for yourself. I'm not much for talking, I'm about my business. But most importantly I'm about my paper." Vino answered, looking him dead in his eyes.

Antwan couldn't do much but nod his head, picking up good vibes from Vino. "You were right Ace, I like him."

Amiré smirked to himself. "Yeah, I know."

"So wassup?" Vino questioned, raising his hands. "What's next?"

Antwan cleared his throat and unfolded his arms to lean against the desk. "Well since you said put you to work so that I can see what kind of man you are— say less. Amiré here has to do a run for me to cut off a few loose ends... if you catching my drift. These loose ends have allegedly been in contact with the feds and I need them gone. I'd usually send my executioner, but he's on family leave at the moment and I need someone I trust to make sure this gets taken care of quick and clean. I want you to ride along with Ace and help him out."

Vino nodded slowly, understanding exactly what he was asking. "That's fine with me. I don't like loose ends anyway."

"Good," Antwan smirked, turning to Amiré. "Take care of this for me and I promise it's the last clean up mission I'll personally send you on. As my number two, we're on to much bigger and much greater things. And I think Vino will enjoy your old role."

"I gotchu," Amiré chuckled. "And I know he will, cause he gone be making actual bread."

All three men laughed and Vino playfully flipped Amiré off.

"Y'know I can see how you two are cousins, ya sorta look alike." Antwan joked, making them both smack their lips.

•••••

"Damn now I really see why niggas call you the grim reaper." Vino sighed, putting his blood stained clothes into a trash bag.

Amiré stood beside him doing the same thing. He had zoned out a little because it never got easy pulling the trigger and taking a life, but he was damn near used to it. "Yeah." He mumbled, throwing his bag in the trash can and Vino did the same. He grabbed the lighter fluid and poured it inside, before grabbing his matches and lighting one, throwing it inside.

They both just stood in the empty field, watching the last bit of evidence burn away. And just like that, to the world, their hands were clean.

Vino could sense something was off with Amiré, looking at him sideways. "What's up with you bro?"

Amiré kept his eyes on the fire, thinking about everything going on in his life at the moment. He couldn't help but to think about who he who was, who he was meant to be, and who he could've been. They say a persons story is usually pre—written, but he didn't want to believe that.

He couldn't believe that for the sake of his sanity. He wasn't supposed to be a killer.

He lifted his head up to look at Vino. "Does it ever get easier for you?"

Understanding what he was asking, Vino shook his head no and leaned up against the car. "Nah, and it never will man. Every time I pull the trigger I think about how that's another bullet out there for me. When you talked about how the 83rd Killaz was just an means to end for me— you wasn't lying. I know everyday that I wake up and leave my house, it's likely that I might not make it back. But that's the shit we signed up for. We been living and breathing this shit since we was 14-15 Mir."

Amiré let his eyes fall back to the fire. "Do you think this street shit was always going to be a part of your story?"

"Hell yeah," Vino nodded. "I didn't wake up and choose the streets. The streets chose me. I was gone end up here anyway. What about you?"

Amiré shrugged, feeling his heart tug a little. For the first time in a long time, he felt comfortable enough to feel vulnerable. "Sometimes I'd like to think that it wasn't supposed to be. But then I think back to that night I beat my father to death, and how easy for me it was to take his life. I did what I did then out of anger but now? Every life I take— I feel empty inside. I feel like I honestly lost myself to the streets. There's no more line drawn between Ace and Amiré anymore, and that scares me man."

Vino sighed and pulled the blunt from behind his ear, lighting it. "You want me to be honest with you cous?"

"Of course."

"This is exactly why you shouldn't have pushed Taivon away." Vino said, placing the blunt between his lips and hitting it.

Amiré looked up at him quickly, making a face. "What you mean?"

"With Taivon you were able to be yourself man. You were able to have a real good thing in your life because a she didn't see Ace when she looked at you, she saw Amiré."

"She only saw me cause I kept Ace away from her."

Vino scoffed. "You may think that but you bought that girl name brand purses and left a band inside of it. Not to mention my girlfriend, who is her Bestfriend, is nosey as fuck and tells me everything. Apparently she already suspects you in these streets just like me."

Amiré eyes widened a little. "Wait what?"

"Bro you either dumb or slow. You literally dropped 30 bands on shorty birthday and you ain't think she was gone put two and two together?" Vino laughed at him. "You think she think you working grave yard shifts or something? I mean you walk around with a different Rollie on every other day."

"Damn." He mumbled, making a face. "She never mentioned it or asked me any questions about it."

"That's cause she know it's none of her business Amiré. She not like these little ass girls and you know that. Taivon has more street sense than you think."

"Okay but that's besides the point— why you say I shouldn't have pushed her away? I told you what happened. She was getting attached."

"And so did you nigga. You just don't want to be attached. Look— You know I understand exactly why you distanced yourself, cause I've done it to too. Niggas like us don't believe in love, not cause we afraid of it or don't want it, but because we don't believe we deserve it."

Amiré stuffed his hands in his pockets, speechless.

"I tried to fight that shit with Nia for so long bro, but the feeling I get when I'm with her— was too strong to keep ignoring. With her I feel normal, I feel safe, I feel like somebody gone always love me for me, despite my actions and choices. She keeps me feeling alive, so that I don't feel lost in this shit. And it sounds like that's what Taivon was doing for you."

"But you just said every time you leave the house, you know it's a chance you won't come back. How can you be okay with her getting attached to you, knowing the dangers that comes with it or that she might look up one day and you're gone? I've hurt too many people in my life Vino, I don't wanna hurt that girl."

"Which is also how I felt about Nia but then she told me something that shut that shit down. These girls know exactly what they sign up for too, it's not up to us to decide for them Amiré. If Taivon want to still be with you, even after you reveal what you've done, then that's her choice. The only person you need to worry about is yourself, cause not to sound cliche or nothing, thugs need love too." He chuckled, re lighting his blunt since it went out.

"It's not the same for me though Vino." Amire sighed. "I leave for New York in 3 days and I don't know how long i'ma be gone. Things would be different if I had my old role and I was able to stay put but I don't wanna put her— or even myself— through that shit. I'm going full time with this shit. I'm not just smarty pants Amiré with the mysterious life to her anymore, I'm Ace, the 2nd in command of a drug empire. I have killed people and there are people who want to kill me."

"Again that's not up to you to decide," Vino shrugged, ashing the blunt as he blew the smoke out. "At least give her a chance to decide for herself. Everyday I'm thankful that Nia still chose me, because she saw the real me. In a life like ours, sometimes all we need is one person to keep us from losing ourselves."

Amiré ran his hand down his face, not knowing what to do. His mind was telling him to keep it pushing, but whatever that was left of his heart was aching. He missed the shit out of Taivon, and he didn't understand how.

She dead ass came out of nowhere and just set fire to his life.

"Don't leave Austin without talking to that girl Nigga, or you gone look back one day and regret that shit. I'm no telling you to go and tell the girl all yo deepest and darkest secrets, I'm telling you to stop running from the simple fact that you like her. Admit that first and I promise the rest gone be easy."

Amiré just shook his head. "Have you always been this damn wise?"

"Nope. It's definitely the weed talking." Vino joked, making them both laugh.

"I can't stand yo stupid ass."

"Yeah whatever Nigga let's go, I'm tired of being in this empty ass field. It's getting dark as hell."

Amiré smirked at him. "Scary ass."

"Nigga please," Vino snorted. "If somebody's or something fuck with us out here, they gone get tapped in the head."

"Or Something? Nigga you believe in ghosts or some shit? You good?"

Later that night.....

Taivon rested on her couch watching SVU, wearing pajamas. She was put up for the night after returning from the library. She had a big test coming up and had been at the library studying, but got tired of it quickly. She was in school for accounting, which wasn't easy at all.

Her life has sort of paused and school became her main focus again. With the semester nearing midterms, she didn't need any distractions.

The knock at her door interrupted her alone time, forcing her head to turn to the door. Her face scrunched up in confusion, wondering who the hell was at her door. She knew it wasn't Nia cause they just got off the phone with each other.

She kicked her feet off the couch and stood up, making her way to the door. Placing her eye on the peephole she froze in shock, seeing someone she least expected to see.

Truthfully, she never thought she'd see him again.

Not thinking about it another second, she unlocked the door and pulled it open, meeting his eyes. And almost instantly, the butterflies returned.

"Hey Tee," He smiled softly, which shocked her again. He always smirked at everything. "I was wondering if we could talk?"

Taivon just stared at him, feeling every feeling and emotion she tried to push away resurface. She was pissed, because he had the audacity to show his face after cutting her off. She was sad, because he didn't even give them a chance. She was happy to see him again, because she missed him. But she was also horny, because all she could think about is the way he touched her and made her feel.

"Tee?" His voice interrupted her thoughts, bringing her back to life. "You good?" He questioned, making a face.

Tee just took a deep breath and before she could even stop herself, she leaned forward and smashed her lips against his. Shocking the both of them.

Despite being caught off guard, Amiré didn't hesitate to kiss her back as he bent down a little and placed his hands behind her thighs, picking her up.

Tee deepened the kiss and added tongue, wrapping her arms around his neck as he carried her back inside of her apartment, shutting the door with his foot. Somehow he was able to lock it.

Their kiss intensified as he walked over to her couch and sat down, with her straddling his lap. She moved her hands to his face and held it in place as she slid her tongue across his, moaning into his mouth as she began grinding on him.

Amire's hands slipped down to her ass and he gave it a squeeze, inciting another moan. He used that as an opportunity to take the dominance back as their tongues wrestled for control. He groaned a little as she continued to grind against him, feeling himself harden.

By the urgency of the kiss, he knew exactly what she wanted cause he wanted it too.

Without another word or thought, they lost their clothes and gave each other exactly what they were both missing, despite what they were feeling.
