(Chapter - 19)
(Niki's POV)
YESS!! Our team won the soccer match, and I was celebrating the win with Sunoo hyung and my other teammates. We were busy having snacks and drinks and having conversations with each other. That is when Sunoo hyung nudged me.
"Niki, go and pick up Y/N. Jay hyung messaged me to bring her back home along with us, so go and bring her over here." Sunoo hyung told me.
"But hyung Jay hyung messaged you to pick her up, not me~" I whined. After all, it was his task.
He stared at me, and that was enough for me to comprehend that I wasn't meant to be arguing about it anyway.
"Okay, I am going! Hmph!" I accepted my defeat and went to the school building to find that rat.
I entered the classroom to find only two boys doing their homework. There was no sign of any other existence in the classroom. I wandered around the place only to find Y/N's bag, but there was no sign of her.
"Have you seen Y/N?" I asked the boys who were studying.
"No, we didn't see her in the past two classes." One of them answered.
"Oh, okay." I abandoned the class like that in search of Y/N.
I asked many of my classmates and my friends, as me and Y/N study in the same class. They all didn't know where the girl went.
I panicked at the thought of what would happen to her. I wasted no time in barging into the control room and discovering that the girl had disappeared for quite a long time. She was last found entering the rooftop and never returned. I immediately contacted Sunoo hyung, informing me about the situation. Something is definitely not okay!!
I wasted no time entering the rooftop...
My eyes landed upon the scene about which I was praying not to happen. Y/N was lying lifelessly on the floor. Multiple cuts, wounds, and bruises were evident on her body, but I panicked when I found blood oozing out of her head. She was losing a lot of blood.
I immediately woke up from my trance and wasted no time in picking up my sister and placing her in my lap. I just couldn't see her pathetic condition as I felt hot liquid coming out of my eyes out of pain and anger.
"Open your eyes Y/N! Oppa is here with you, I am sorry!! Oppa will never play pranks on you from now onwards, but please wake up my sis." I tried waking her up, but got no response from her. I snivelled out. I just couldn't handle my emotions seeing my playful sister in such a lifeless condition.
My phone rang once again...
It was Sunoo hyung.
I put my phone on speaker, not able to form a single word.
"It seems like someone tampered with the footage. It was all blank before she entered and after she left the place... Someone intended to call her upstairs." Sunoo hyung spoke up.
"Hello? Niki, are you there?" Sunoo hyung asked me, who was not able to analyse anything at the moment.
"H-hyung Y/N!" I screamed and cried during the call.
Sunoo hyung understood that something was definitely wrong and immediately ran up to me. He, too, was shocked, observing her state. However, hyung was really practical rather than emotional in such situations, and he wasted no time in picking her up from my lap and rushing to the medical unit in the school till the ambulance arrived.
Yes, he told me to call an ambulance at the immediate moment, and I did so.
Hyung stood there with Y/N, helping the nurse to patch her head wound temporarily to avoid any further blood loss.
Soon, the ambulance arrived, and we carried Y/N to the ambulance, followed by our car, and soon, the girl was rushed to OT.
Something or the other keeps on happening to her, as if someone has an evil eye on her.
Soon after, the doctor reappeared from the OT, striding towards us, and we, too, spared no time in acquiring information about her present state.
"She has a severe concussion and a hefty blood loss too. Thankfully, we have the blood supply, but we need to perform head surgery to stop the clotting of blood after 3 hours because of blood transfusion." We wasted no time in filling out the forms as her guardian and approved of the surgery too.
Soon, the blood was transfused, and the doctors informed us about the proceeding of the surgery.
At the same time...
(Heeseung's POV)
"I know we are all free from mafia work for a year, but still it is not safe to roam around at night. The danger is still out there!" I scolded my siblings who were present at home, teaching them a lesson, as Sunoo, Niki, and Y/N were still not back home. Apparently, they all had unreachable phones.
"Hyung, calm down. They might be hanging out somewhere around..." Jungwon tried to calm me.
"It's literally 9 p.m. in the evening and here you say to calm down?" I lashed out at Jungwon.
"Leave now, Jungwon." Sunghoon instructed him to get out of the living area as he was not helping in the current situation.
Jungwon left the situation in a carefree way, and that added more to my anger.
"How can he act so carefree all the time?" I shouted in anger once again.
"We all should try calling them rather than acting up in the situation!" Jake explained it to all of us. He had a point.
"None of them are picking up their phones." Jay informed them.
"Yeah, same here, but let me try dropping a message." Sunghoon said.
"Wait a minute, Sunoo's phone is reachable now!" Heeseung informed them all.
All the brothers except Jungwon gathered around the phone, and Heeseung, too, put the phone on speaker.
"H-hey, hyung!" Sunoo spoke up from the other side.
"Where are you all?" I asked.
"Are Niki and Y/N there with you?" Jake asked.
"Y-yeah, they are with me... But Y-Y/N..." Sunoo spoke hesitantly.
"What happened to her?" Sunghoon asked.
"S-She was beaten badly hyung. She is currently hospitalized." Sunoo spoke it all in one breath.
The atmosphere got heavy...
