Part 5:-

Anirudh's voice quivered with emotion as he called out desperately, "Kaka... Kaka... Kaka..." The echo of his words seemed to hang heavily in the room, but there was no response. A deep sense of emptiness engulfed him as he closed his eyes, trying to mask the tears that threatened to fall.

Bondita's heart raced as she received the news from the servant, the reality of the situation hitting her like a ton of bricks. She stood frozen at the doorway, her eyes searching for Anirudh. The sight of him sitting in numb silence pierced her soul, the weight of grief palpable in the air.

At the funeral, Anirudh's expression remained unreadable, his eyes glazed over as Kaka's body was engulfed in flames. He went through the motions of the final rituals with a sense of duty, the heaviness of loss weighing him down.

Memories flooded Anirudh's mind, each one a poignant reminder of the deep bond he shared with Kaka. The comforting touch on his forehead, the laughter that rang through their home - each memory held a bittersweet essence of their time together. The void left by Kaka's passing felt insurmountable, a gaping hole in his heart that could never be filled.

It's been 15 days since Kaka passed away. Bondita feels sorrow too, not just because he was her patient, but because she had developed a very good relationship with Kaka. Everyone is sad, and the environment is filled with sorrow. Tomorrow she is going away, back to her house, but she doesn't have the heart to leave.

She feels as though her soul has settled here, and this house has become like her own. What a place this is! Where Anirudh has brought her, she has become unaware of this world. Today, she doesn't want anything from God. She only wants to bow her head before Him.

The place where she and Anirudh have come has generous shadows. They have brought a caravan of dreams here. Their heartbeats are young, and the atmosphere sings. There's something different in her heart, not like before when she first arrived here.

She begins to think that Anirudh is unique. She looks at her engagement ring. The belief is coupled with an inability to feel romantic passion for her fiancé or anyone else. She tends to focus on the positive qualities of her beloved, while overlooking his negative traits. She also focuses on trivial events and objects that remind her of Anirudh, daydreaming about these precious little moments and mementos.

Bondita searched for Anirudh, desperately seeking the connection they once shared before Kaka's passing. Anirudh's silence weighed heavily on her, his usual warmth now replaced with a somber and distant demeanor. She remembered the pained look in his eyes when she had mentioned her imminent departure, sensing his hurt at the thought of her leaving.

Finally locating him sitting alone on the stairs, Bondita sat beside him, determined to have a heart-to-heart conversation. Today, she wanted to share her innermost feelings and hoped that he would open up too. As they sat together, their lips quivering with unspoken words and their silence echoing loudly, they both felt a sense of unease and restlessness engulfing them.

In that moment of shared silence, they longed for some indication from each other's eyes, a sign that they were not alone in their emotions. They yearned for mutual understanding and support to navigate the complexities of life and find solace in each other's hearts. Despite the tumultuous thoughts racing through their minds and their restless heartbeats, they held onto the hope that their hearts would eventually find peace and refuge in their love for each other..

Anirudh: you are going back Tomorrow.
Bondita:hmm..
Anirudh's words hung in the air, heavy with the weight of impending separation. Bondita, her gaze averted, replied softly, "My train leaves at 4 o'clock in the afternoon." The silence between them grew, until Bondita found the courage to break it, her voice laced with sorrow. "I am sorry about Uncle. He was more than just an uncle to me...he was like a father. It's strange, isn't it? We spend our lives chasing after things, only to be left alone in the end. And tomorrow, it will be your turn to leave me."

As Bondita turned to meet Anirudh's gaze, a flicker of uncertainty danced in her eyes. Should she reveal her innermost thoughts, the desire to stay with him, even though she herself couldn't fully comprehend the reasons behind this longing?

"What if I told you I didn't want to leave? What if I said I wanted to stay here, with you?" Bondita's voice quivered with unspoken emotions, her heart laid bare in those words.

Anirudh, his eyes reflecting a myriad of emotions, turned to face her, his own vulnerability exposed. "And what if I told you that I wanted you to stay? There is a voice that echoes in my ears, your voice. Your face constantly haunts me, offering me solace. You are the peace that resides in my tumultuous heart."

His words hung in the air, the unspoken emotions weaving a fragile bond between them. And then, in a moment of raw vulnerability, Anirudh's confession tumbled forth, his declaration of love painting the room with its intensity. Bondita, unable to contain the rush of overwhelming emotions, tears cascading down her cheeks, felt her heart expand with both pain and a newfound sense of hope.

"I love you, Bondita. I can't imagine a life without you by my side. But I know that our worlds are so different, our paths so divergent. You, a beacon of light in a world of darkness. And I...I am the shadows that linger at the edge, a criminal who has stained his hands with unforgivable deeds."

Bondita, her heart torn between love and duty, remembered Kaka's words, the whispers of a past that hinted at a different version of Anirudh. "Kaka said you weren't always like this," she murmured softly, seeking solace in the fragments of the man she hoped lay buried beneath the layers of turmoil and despair.

Anirudh's gaze softened, a flicker of remorse crossing his features. "I wasn't always this way. There was a time when life held different promises, when my heart beat with a different rhythm. But the tides of fate have sculpted me into this person, a mere shadow of who I once was."

And in that fragile moment, as love and duty waged war within their hearts, Anirudh and Bondita found themselves at the crossroads of destiny, their fates intertwined in a tapestry of emotions too intricate to unravel..

Flashback...

Little Anirudh, at the tender age of 9 years old, sat restlessly as his mother lovingly massaged oil into his hair, trying to suppress his irritation.

Anirudh: "Ma, why do you put oil in my hair?"

Mother: "Oil keeps your hair soft, my dear."

Anirudh: "But why do the boys in the neighborhood call me a sissy?"

Mother: "Let them say what they want. They are not you. You will grow up to be a smart and educated man."

She planted a kiss on his forehead as he pouted, still longing for the return of his elder sister, Sampoorna.

Anirudh: "When will Sampoorna Didi come back? It's been a week since she went with Ankur brother-in-law after her marriage. I miss her. I want to bring her back."

Mother: "No, Anirudh. Your sister should never return to this house after her marriage. Her husband's house is now her home. Now, go to school."

Anirudh bid goodbye, unknowingly, for the last time to his mother as he headed to school.

In the classroom, Anirudh remained focused on his studies, particularly math, until he was distracted by his best friend, Saudamini, a newcomer in their village. She struggled with math and often resorted to cheating.

Anirudh dashed out of school with a spring in his step, eager to join his best friend, Saudamini, in their usual post-school playtime. As he approached his father, who sat with his sewing machine - a humble tool of their trade - Anirudh's excitement was palpable.

"Where are you rushing off to, my boy? Come here," his father called out gently.

Anirudh grinned, his eyes shining with enthusiasm. "Baba, Saudamini and I are going to play," he replied gleefully.

His father chuckled softly and reached for an apple from a nearby basket. "There's no end to your playing, is there? Here, take this apple, my dear. You must be hungry," he said, offering the fruit to his son.

Anirudh's face lit up with joy as he accepted the apple. "Thank you, baba. Let's share it," he suggested, already taking a bite with eagerness.

Seeing the genuine happiness on his son's face, Anirudh's father couldn't help but smile. His heart swelled with a mix of pride and concern for the uncertain future ahead. As Anirudh ran off with Saudamini, his father watched them go, silently praying and pondering, "God only knows when my son will be an educated young man! When will I prosper and set up a store."

And so, amidst the backdrop of their simple lives and dreams, a father's love and a son's innocence intertwined, forming a bond that would endure the test of time.

After school, the children rushed out to play, Anirudh included. Upon reaching home, he found his house burnt down, his mother perishing in the fire, and his father severely injured while trying to save her.

His father's injury left him bedridden, forcing 9-year-old Anirudh to take on the responsibilities of the household. With his name removed from the school register, he resorted to standing outside classrooms to secretly continue his education while working odd jobs like clothes stitching, shoe polishing, dishwashing in restaurants, and more.

The burden of caring for his father, rebuilding their home, and sending money as dowry to his sister's in-laws fell heavily on young Anirudh's shoulders, thrusting him into adulthood before his time. Amidst the turmoil, his beacon of peace was Saudamini, who shared her knowledge, food, and even broke her piggy bank to buy Anirudh a new shirt.

Years passed as Anirudh struggled to make ends meet, always keeping the memory of his sister's sacrifices close to his heart. Despite the hardships, he found solace in the unspoken bond between him and Saudamini as they navigated their challenging circumstances together.

Anirudh is 18 years old.his financial condition get little better, his father too now can walk.
Anirudh returned from the city to his village, where an old man called out to him.

Old man: "Where have you been for the past two days?!"

Anirudh replied, "I had to go to the city to sell some wood. I will talk to you soon about expanding the upper floor of our house."

The old man reflected, "You have spent your entire childhood and teenage years taking on so many responsibilities. Now, your financial situation has improved, and your father is able to walk. It is time for you to consider getting married and bringing a girl home who can take care of the household while you focus on your work."

Blushing at the thought of marriage, Anirudh proceeded to enter his house where he found his father busy cooking.

Anirudh greeted his father, "Baba, I'm back."

His father welcomed him, "Anirudh, my dear, welcome back. Did you finish your work quickly?"

Anirudh hesitated, "Yes, the work was completed swiftly, so I returned early."

His father teased him, "Don't try to deceive me, Anirudh. I know you came back sooner because of the shopkeeper's daughter."

Anirudh, feeling a bit embarrassed, replied, "Please, let's not jump to conclusions. I came back for other reasons. I will take care of cooking."

Taking charge of the kitchen, Anirudh began to cook, lost in his thoughts about his future and the idea of marriage.

On a warm afternoon in the village, all eyes turn to the arrival of Anirudh Roy Choudhury as he makes his way to the bustling playground. The air is filled with excitement as Anirudh calls out, "Kabadi... kabadi..." rallying his teammates for a thrilling game.

With skill and determination, Anirudh leads his team to victory, earning the admiration and cheers of the onlookers, including his friend Niloy.

"Wah Anirudh! You are truly a great player and a pride of our village. Not to mention, you always look so handsome. Even the wealthy folks feel your presence," Niloy exclaims with a grin, teasing his friend.

Anirudh chuckles, brushing off the compliments. "You talk too much, my friend. I must be on my way," he replies, an air of humility in his demeanor as he heads towards the nearby hill.

At the hill, Anirudh finds his sweetheart Saudamini waiting for him, her eyes filled with affection and excitement. Anirudh's face lights up as he gazes upon her, feeling a sense of completeness in her presence.

"My day feels incomplete without seeing you," Anirudh confesses, drawing Saudamini closer as they sit together, their souls connecting in a dance of unspoken words.

Saudamini smiles, her warm gaze meeting his. "It's strange, I feel the same way about you," she admits, her voice filled with tenderness.

Anirudh takes her hands gently in his own, the warmth of their touch sending a wave of tranquility through his heart. "You are my sun, and I am your dawn. Let us hope that we never part," he whispers softly, his eyes locked with hers.

Saudamini's words break the silence, her voice carrying a mix of passion and sincerity. "Each time we meet, I forget the world around me. You are handsome, romantic. I wish... to marry you," she confesses, a blush tinting her cheeks.

With a playful gleam in her eyes, Saudamini starts to run off, Anirudh swiftly following in pursuit. Their playful chase is interrupted by the awareness of someone observing them from afar, their love story unfolding amidst the watchful gaze of the village.

As Saudamini wipes the sweat from Anirudh's forehead, a mix of laughter and affection fills the air, their bond growing stronger with each passing moment.

Anirudh: can't you stay more..
Mini:i want to stay all my life with you..
But now you give me permission to leave..
She fold her Hand Infront of him,he smiles..and nod yes.
Anirudh:but tomorrow evening you have to come here to meet me.
Saudamini: promise..
Saudamini run away from there.anirudh lie down on the rock.

Anirudh stood in the bustling village square, surrounded by eager faces and the glint of steel from the swords held by the men gathering around him. One man, with an air of authority, called out to him, “Anirudh, come here! We are having a sword competition and need one more man. You look strong, you should join us.”

Anirudh hesitated, his eyes darting nervously between the sharp blades and the expectant faces of the crowd. “Me? No, I can’t do it. I...I get faint at the sight of blood,” he stammered, trying to back away.

But before he could make his escape, the man grabbed his arm and handed him a sword. “Nonsense! Come on, give it a try. You might surprise yourself,” he urged, pushing Anirudh into the makeshift arena.

Anirudh gripped the hilt of the sword, his hands trembling as he tried to mimic the movements of the other contestants. But the weight of the weapon felt foreign in his grasp, and he faltered, stumbling and falling to the ground with a loud clang as the sword dropped from his hand.

The crowd erupted into laughter and jeers, but Anirudh simply lay there in defeat, his eyes fixed on the blade resting beside him. Little did they know that this timid and clumsy Anirudh would one day undergo a transformation.

Anirudh rushed to his father's side, his brow furrowed with concern. "Baba, what happened?" he inquired, his eyes scanning his father's tense expression.

"I'm not feeling well, Anirudh," his father replied, his voice heavy with worry.

Anirudh's gaze fell upon the crumpled letter in his father's trembling hand. "Sampoorna," he murmured, recognizing his sister's name. "She is suffering from an illness, and your brother-in-law is not providing the money for her treatment?" he asked, a mixture of disbelief and anger in his tone.

His father nodded, a pained look in his eyes. "She lied to us, but now she can't bear it anymore. She told me everything," he explained, his voice filled with sorrow.

Anirudh's determination sparked within him. "Baba, I will do something. I will manage the money for Didi," he declared, his resolve unwavering.

His father's shoulders slumped as he gripped Anirudh's hand tightly. "I have been a selfish father, Anirudh. You have been taking care of us since childhood," he confessed, his voice breaking with emotion.

Anirudh's heart swelled with love and compassion as he wrapped his arms around his father in a tight embrace. "Baba, we are family. We will get through this together," he whispered, offering his father the comfort and support he needed in that moment of uncertainty.

Saudamini was getting ready to meet her beloved Anirudh when her father's friend, Bomik, stopped her in her tracks.

Bomik: "Where are you going, Saudamini?"
Saudamini: "Just out."
Bomik: "Stay home. I have to leave, and some people are coming. Please give them this money. Remember, don't leave the house. Bandits are looting empty houses nowadays."

Left alone at home, Saudamini sadly followed Bomik's instructions and stayed put.

Meanwhile, Anirudh waited for Mini all afternoon, expecting her arrival. As darkness fell and the storm rolled in, Anirudh felt a wave of emotional devastation. Finally, unable to bear the uncertainty any longer, he decided to check on her.

Upon reaching Saudamini's house, he found the door unlocked. Peeking inside, he discovered her asleep, likely exhausted from waiting for her father who had not yet returned. Anirudh approached her, listening to the murmurs she uttered in her sleep.

"Anirudh... Anirudh..."

His touch on her head roused her from her slumber.

Saudamini: "It's you! I thought I was dreaming of you."
Realizing he was truly there, she sat up.

Saudamini: "How did you get here?"
Anirudh: "I have come for you, Mini."

Noticing the open door, Saudamini hurriedly got up to close it. As she turned, she locked eyes with Anirudh, who stood gazing at her. Without a word, she walked towards him and embraced him tightly, finding solace and comfort in his presence as he held her close.
Mini noticed that Anirudh was drenched from head to toe as he sat on the sofa. She quickly brought him a comforter.

Mini: "Anirudh, you have a fever. Please sit down."

Anirudh: "Don't do this to me again."

Mini: "I don't understand..."

Anirudh: "You didn't come, and strange thoughts began to fill my mind. I felt suffocated. Then the storm arrived, lightning crackled, and rain surrounded me from all sides. A storm brewed within me. I couldn't bear it. I came out, stumbling and falling several times. I had lost my balance. All I could see and think about was you."

Mini saw the pain in his eyes, realizing that she was the cause of his distress. Unable to bear the guilt and emotion, she walked away, tears streaming down her face.

Mini:No, without you I cannot live. I say, if I live, it will be with you......and if I die, it will be with you.It is true, even when I die, I will be near you only.If I laugh it will be with you, and if I cry it will be with you.
