I didn't count the time that passed until V can move his body again. The birds are chirping when I opened my eyes. I fell asleep. I tried to move my legs but it was heavy, that is because V is sleeping on my lap. And now, my legs are numb.
"Did you pack your things?" V asked in a hoarse voice. So he was awake.
"I did.." I answered while I put my hand on top of his head.
"Rest. We will leave later.." he scooted and curled like a fetus while covered in blanket. Cute.
"I think I rest enough, but have you?"
"I'm fine.."
"Then...I'm glad.." we fell in silence after he refused to speak. I rest the back of my neck on the sofa and enjoyed the quiet morning. The birds chirping. The leaves falling on the ground, it is so peaceful that I can even hear that.
"Thank you.." V whispered.
"What's that?"
He hid his face with the blanket. "I said thank you....you didn't leave me last night.."
"You're welcome.." I said with a big smile plastered on my face. This is the first time I hear him thank me. I must say, it made me happy. "Why are we leaving?" I asked.
"The devils are coming for you. This place is not safe anymore.."
"Why me?"
"Because you are Satan's child. The devils that attacked us hold grudge against your father. The former king is dead already, that's why they want to kill his child.."
"Wow, I'm unlucky.." I bitterly smiled at myself. "So why are they approaching now? Why didn't they kill me when I was a kid?"
"Because your mother is secretly protecting you. She makes sure to kill the devils that are targeting you even before they lay their hands on you. I saw her fight once, she's a very quiet and trained assassin.."
"I-is that so?"
"Yes. Don't cry.." he warned me and I laughed. A genuine one.
"I'm not going to. I'm even happy now after hearing that. My mother deserves the most outstanding award for being the best mother. I wish I saw her fight.."
"You would not want to. Unless you want to watch a bloody killing with devil's insides flying and scattered on the floor. Your mother is ruthless in battle field just like your father. Her brutality is even worse. She don't know how to feel pity..." V shook his head as if it was just yesterday when he saw my mother fight. "They really deserve each other. Your mom and your dad."
"Yeah.."
We rest for a bit until he decided to stand up. He said that he is now fully healed though I can clearly see that he can't even stand straight. I laughed at him while he glared at me. We don't have a car for transportation so he use his teleportation power to go to the restaurant. I asked him a favor if I could at least say goodbye to my friends. He said just make it quick.
"Jin hyung!" I hugged him from behind. He's the only person I spotted inside the restaurant. I guess we went here a bit early. Jin hyung is currently tying his apron and was shocked because of my sudden outburst.
"Kookie? Why? Are you crying?" He asked concerned.
"I'm sorry if I worried you always. I'm sorry for giving you a hard time. I'm sorry if I was not a perfect boss. I'm sorry. I just want you to know that you are the best. Thank you for your concern to me. I love you and will love you as my hyung always.." I started spitting nonsense while crying.
"What are you saying?" He faced me with a hurt expression. I think he guessed what I'm doing. "Are you leaving?"
I sniff first and nodded my head. "Turns out my dad is still alive and he wants to take care of me after hearing that my mother died. He lives far away from Korea and I fear that we might not see each other again. I'm sorry if this is so sudden." I'm a little guilty for telling him a lie. I'm sorry father if I used your name.
His eyes started to water. "Can't you just stay here with us? I can take care of you if that's what you want.." a tear scaped his eyes and followed by another until it became nonstop. He hugged me while both of us sobbed.
"I'm sorry, Jin hyung but I also wanted to get to know my father.."
"Have your mind already made? Is this your final decision?" He grabbed my shoulders and faced me. I nodded. "Then it's fine. Do whatever you want if that will make you happy. If you have time, come visit us okay?" He hugged me again.
I told him everything that I planned last night. I want them to still managed the restaurant. This is theirs now. I also told him that the mansion is always open for them. I gave him the key of the mansion. Though he didn't want to accept it, he doesn't have a choice. After everything is settled, I gave him one last hug and I left.
On my way out, I bumped into Hobi hyung. I told him the same thing. That I'm leaving with the same reason. The same lie. I thanked him also for being a good hyung to me and for helping me with lot of things. He didn't cried because he is the type of person that understand. He just sent me off with a big smile.
I was met by V exactly after coming out of the restaurant. He immediately grabbed my hand and we teleported to somewhere I don't have any idea. Before I realized it, we were inside a big house. The walls are made out of glass. I was mesmerized by the design that I didn't realize I was wandering around the house.
"Jackson!" V shouted that echoed in the house.
In a blink of an eye, there's now a man floating in front of me and our faces are very close.
"Yes?" The man said.
I quickly ran back to V and hid behind him. Why is that man floating? I scanned him from head to toe. He wears a full black outfit. His skin is pale. His eyes are red. Lips are stained by a red liquid. His long fangs are showing.
"You fucking told me that the devils are in Paris yesterday! Then how the fuck did they reach Seoul that quick!?" V angrily said. Veins are showing from his totally gripped fist.
"I wasn't kidding when I told you they were just at Paris! Did devils attacked you?"
"Yes! And I want to know how!"
"Wait here. I'll go check.." and with that, he vanished. Literally.
My eyes widened. "How can he do that?" I asked, curiosity evident on my face and voice.
"He's a vampire, of course he can do that.." V boringly said as if the sentence isn't a big deal. Maybe for him it isn't but for me, seeing an actual vampire up close is shocking.
That's when my jaw dropped but I was quick to paste it back. So I was right about my suspicion that vampires do exist! And I just met one! So if he is a vampire, that means the red liquid on his lips is.....shit it's blood! Cool.
"Why do you look like you want to study him?" V stated, eyeing me with squinted eyes.
"Can I?" My eyes glistened when I looked up to V. He looked me like I'm unbelievable. What!?
"Of course you can, cutie. If you want.." the same man appeared in front of me again. A wicked smirk plastered on his face. Fuck, he looks like a pervert! And then V laughed. The fuck is wrong with him now? Oh wait, maybe he read my mind. "I wasn't wrong about the devils in Paris. My allies saw them with a witch that's why they reached Seoul fast. The witch teleported them here.." the pervert vampire said.
It's as if a something ring in my head when I heard the word 'witch'. Damn! So they are also real? My body is itching from wanting to see one in person but if the witches are helping the devils kill us then they are bad news. If they were to see us, then it's danger for V and I. But I really wanted to clarify my suspicion and I wanted to see if the information I have about witches are all true.
"So they have a witch in their side now as well?" V replied trying to act serious when I can clearly see that it is hard for him to contain his laugh.
"That would be the case.." the pervert vampire answered with a sigh. How did they become allies? V and this vampire? Suddenly, I'm curious. "Say, who is this cutie with you?" The vampire reached for my face but I immediately back off and hide behind V.
"This is my bunny. Bun, his name is Jackson. We met when I first step in this realm. I lived here once and yes, he's a vampire.." V introduced.
Though I was hesitant, I still offered him a handshake. He grabbed my hand and it feels like I shook hands with an ice. He is so darn cold!
"So... vampires exist?" I asked.
Jackson smiled at me. "Yes. Does it shock you?"
"Uhm...yeah. I was not expecting I'm going to meet one up close.."
"Well then, you're lucky.."
"Yes. I guess so. Are werewolves real too?" I can't help but ask.
"Do you want to see one?"
"If possible. Yes. I would like to see one."
"Yeonjun!" The vampire shouted, made me jump.
A minute passed until a handsome boy walked down from the second floor. He's wearing a white sleeveless shirt and black trousers. He looks as if he just get up from bed.
"What?" He boringly asked while scratching his side. When his eyes found me he jumps in shock. "Why is there a human at my house, Jackson!?" He angrily said and repeatedly hit Jackson's head.
"Shift.." Jackson ordered.
"The fuck are you saying? Now? In front of that human!?" He pointed at me, veins showing out of his forehead. He have serious anger issues.
"Yes.." it was V who answered him. He shut his mouth after hearing V. Seems like he was afraid of him.
"Fine. Damn it.." He walked behind Jackson and when he came out, he turned into a massive brown wolf. My hands clapped on it's own with eyes shining because of amusement.
"Can I touch him!?" I asked jumping in joy. Jackson signaled him to come to me. Though the wolf hate it, he just followed. He approached me and I quickly touched his fur. Fluffy! I squeal and before I even realize it, I was hugging the wolf. When I realize I got too carried away, I cleared my throat and let go of the wolf.
"Sorry. I got carried away." I said and still squealed after while petting the wolf! So cute!
