Semblance: Healing tears: The tears you produce can help heal people of their energies like a broken bone, bruise or any other small injury. It isn't as successful on big injuries like having your arm chopped off.
(3rd POV)
It was all supposed to go down so simple. Cinder would get help from two individuals whose power or skills would make them useful to her. Next she would get a Grimm beetle that would absorb Maiden powers from the fall Maiden and become one of the most powerful woman in the world. It wasn't supposed to go down with her only half getting half Maiden powers and her needing a whole new plan to get the rest because of Qrow Branwen.
Cinder then put a lot more diabolical planning in her next scheme to get the rest of the Maiden powers while also turning the world against each other. It would involve Roman Torchwick, the White Fang, Grimm, the Vytal Festival, and exposing secrets of Atlas. A factor she wasn't ecstatic about was the fact that Salem assigned you to watch over Cinder and make sure she didn't fail like last time. It was as if you were assigned to be her male nanny.
She sucked it up and persevered as it was fortunate for her any way you joined and were young as one part of the plan was to infiltrate Beacon and in order to do that she need a four person team. It was originally going to be her Emerald, Mercury and Neo who was the team, but you replaced Neo on the team. Cinder would consider this good since Neo wasn't exactly loyal to her as she was too Torchwick.
With the two of you spending time together at Beacon, Cinder and you got to know each other pretty well. Cinder got to learn how a sweet guy like you got involved with people like Salem. You learned how she sees the world and the people in it. And both of you got to learn something about yourselves. One of things you both learned was when you noticed how both of your heartbeats went off like someone playing the drums just by seeing talking to each other even the stupidest things.
Cinder didn't know what to do with this information. Ever since she was near old enough to be a Huntress in training she wanted more power than her opponents because she never wanted to be weak again. And yet being with you she felt... strength. Usually when people are around her she had them wrapped around her finger like Emerald. And yet she felt as if you were both on equal grounds despite not much other power.
You were the only person that Cinder felt like she needed. She made her feel things that did make her feel moderately weak and even though she wanted to be strong she didn't mind this. With this she felt like she had to get stronger even aster for not just herself, but for you as well.
Emerald and Mercury got a long pretty well with you. The main reason you got along with Emerald was because you were able to bring out a nicer side to Cinder that treated Emerald well. Mercury and your got to be good friends thanks to you like similar movies, games and other activities. You were pretty sweet to everyone in the group overall. Which could be surprising since you were having a hand in bringing down Beacon.
Anyway, around present time the four of you were able to trick people into thinking Yang attacked Mercury unjustifiably. Next you got Pyrrha to destroy the Penny girl, who was a robot and called out on the lies of both kingdoms which brought so much fear the Grimm couldn't help, but be attracted to all the negative emotions in the air. It was like a buffet of depression, confusion, and worry.
The Huntsman and Huntress and the ones in training obviously tried to fight back, but with the White Fang helping out the Grimm the odds were not in their favor and they got overwhelmed. Then we got a Grimm dragon to wake up and circled around Beacon bringing in even more Grimm. Seeing it was a hopeless attempt to save the school everyone knew they had to retreat into the city.
With the kingdoms divided, Ozpin dead at the moment, Cinder gaining the Maiden powers, the whole thing could be considered a flawless victory for Salem and her syndicate. That would be the case if not for Ruby unlocking the power of silver eyed warriors and seriously harming Cinder.
The legends were not easy not to know about when you work for Salem, but you were still surprised to see Cinder in the state she was in given she is mostly human. Thanks to the little red riding hood she now was missing an eye, lost her voice, and even an arm. After finding her at the top of Ozpin's tower you brought her to your own Bullhead and transported her back to Salem's land of Grimm.
You did your best to heal her, but your semblance wasn't useful with her biggest injuries and were only able to heal a few of her bones, get rid of her bruises, and help her regain part of her voice though it sounded a bit scratchy and dehydrated whenever she spoke. Salem used some of her magic and fixed most of her alarming concerns by making her more Grimm. It wasn't pleasant for her. You could tell by how much she screamed during the process knowing that it would hurt her throat even more.
Waiting until Cinder could heal and find out their next move Salem began planning what to do at Mistral Academy and how she would find the Spring Maiden to unlock the Relic of Knowledge. Until then all you could do was wait. Just wait until Cinder could adjust to her new arm and increased powers.
XXX Time Skip XXX
You slowly opened your eyes as you were wrestling to open your eyes after such a restful night of sleep... Or day of sleep. It was hard to tell if it was day or night in the land of darkness that had no sunlight. As you began to sit up you slowly stretched and yawned, fully waking you up.
To start the day off you did what most normal people would do and did slight chores like take a shower, make your bed, put some time into your personal hygiene and appearance after putting on your clothes. The next thing you did was walk down the halls of Salem' castle ignoring any weird Grimm or a psychotic Tyrian to go make yourself some breakfast.
Being in a land where most of the population is Grimm you couldn't exactly go to a store and make yourself a fancy meal so you made the most basic bowl of cereal. Everyone in the castle had different schedules and tasks, so it was rather rare to see anyone in there with you.
After a few minutes of eating you went to the kitchen sink to rinse your bowl and heard the door slowly open. Turning around to see if the individual was any risk to you, you turned and were surprised to see Emerald standing there with a solemn expression. "Hey y/n, good to see you." Emerald said, giving a wave. "Hey Emerald." You said, giving a slight wave back to her.
Emerald walked to the pantry of the kitchen and looked inside. "Cinder wanted some bread since she was hungry from training." Emerald said. "Good to know." You said giving a slight nod despite the fact she didn't see it. "Is she doing any better with her new arm?" You asked, dreading the response. "No, it still hurts her using her semblance or Maiden Power whenever she uses that arm so she still is trying to get a natural resistance from those powers." Emerald said. You couldn't help, but imagine how painful that must feel considering Cinder has been trying to do this for weeks, but it seems she still needs time with the new Grimm arm Salem gave her.
You barely saw Emerald anymore after you returned from Vale because she was like Cinder's personal care taker. After Ruby started that light show Cinder became heavily injured and needed to watch over to see her return to good health. You volunteered, but you were told Cinder requested for Emerald and for you to not disturb her at all costs. Hearing this hurt your heart more than ever as the girl you cared for practically wanted to cut you off completely while she was hurting and you were unable to heal her or make her feel better.
Every morning you hoped you would hear Cinder was back to full health and wanted to see you again, but instead you went to night each day sad to hear no such request. Right now your only way of knowing how she was doing was from Emerald, who barely left Cinder's side so not an easy task.
Emerald no longer looked in the pantry and pulled out a loaf of bread before turning around. "I guess I should go. Cinder doesn't like it when I am late." Emerald said, looking a little fearful. The looked Emerald had reminded you of when you first met Cinder, Emerald and Mercury. Cinder treated the two as if they were merely pawns that served one purpose and that was to please her.
Things changed after Cinder met you with her acting more nicer to the two of them, but you assumed that without your presence and being in immense pain reverted Cinder back to her old wicked ways. Never more than ever did you want to be the one to see her and make her feel better and act better but despite this you respected her wishes and left Emerald to return to your fiery crush. You didn't know if you could ignore this forever and just hoped that Cinder wouldn't work herself into the ground just for her to use her powers.
XXX Time Skip XXX
Cinder huffed and groaned at the amount of pain in her body because it apparently decided to make it so whenever she used her Grimm arm it would hurt her entirely. No matter how much effort she seemed to put in mastering the abilities it is like she has to restart the cycle of learning her powers, but it is now one hundred times harder.
What would help is if Emerald came by with her food so she wouldn't had starvation to the list of things she is experiencing along with dehydration, insomnia, and just unimaginable pain that Cinder rather be left imagining than experiencing. As the last bit of pain seemed to settle down Cinder got off her knees just as she heard the door to the little training room open.
Cinder growled as best she could, wishing she could speak better so Emerald could hear her from a distance. She turned around on her left side to glare, but stopped mid way when she saw it was you. Seeing you were the one who brought the bed Cinder turned forward and thankful she was wearing a cloak and hood to hide her hideous features.
"I told Emerald I would bring this." You said holding up the bag that contained the loaf. Cinder was silent as she hoped her cold expression would make you leave since she couldn't scream or do anything to you with you noticing how much she has been hurt. She couldn't deal with you knowing she was hurt and how much worse she has gotten.
You sighed as you didn't get a response from her, so you sat the bread on the ground and took a step forward which was the only sound in the room until it was accompanied by the sound of Cinder taking a step forward. "Look Cinder if you just face me and tell me you are OK and mean it I will leave, alright?" You asked hoping to get some form of a response.
After a minute, or what felt like an eternity to you two, you saw Cinder make no gesture for you to leave so you just walk forward and put your hands on her shoulders. You then turn her around as you gave a silent gasp at how many burn and scratch marks she has. "Why didn't you tell me you were hurting this bad?! I could've helped you! Healed you!" Cinder refused to look you in the eyes as you said those statements and turned her head away.
Cinder then opened her mouth and tried to fight through the pain her vocal cords felt even if she gave the quietest whispers. "You... see me... as... monster." She said as best she could. Though it would be hard to hear her voice given her condition you understood each word. You put your finger under her chin and directed her head towards you as she saw the tears in your eyes.
The tears streamed down your cheeks and then feel on Cinder as some of them landed on Cinder and her small injuries started to heal. "I never once saw you as a monster or anything bad. Remember that and please let me help you because at this rate you are only hurting yourself." You said as Cinder joined in on the crying as you smiled seeing she was now opening up.
It was from then on Cinder would let you stay and help heal her if she got hurt during her training. Thanks to this Cinder was starting to get a better control of her Maiden powers again. And because of that Cinder made the promise she would grow stronger for the both of you because you deserve everything she knew she couldn't give you. Except her protection and a new place in the world.
