Chapter 21

Carters pov (1 month later)
I'm walking to the park when I hear someone screaming. I fallow the screaming untill I can see a little girl being beaten.
"STOP!!!!!" I scream
The two people still keep kicking the little girl. I run up to them and punch the first person in the jaw and that makes them black out and fall I can tell that the second person is a guy by the position he is standing in. I kick him where the sun doesn't shine and he falls to his knees. I look over my shoulder to see the little girl crying. Her face is bruised, and her nose is bleeding, she has a black eye and her knee looks bad.
"Hey it's ok I'm not going to hurt you I promise. I want to help you." She nods. I pick her up and fast walk out of the ail. As soon as we are out of danger I call 911. I tell them that we need an ambulance and I tell them our location. Once I see the lights of the ambulance coming I say "it's going to be ok I promise you that you'll be fine and we will find your parents. What your name?"
"Emma, and I don't have any parents." She says then she starts to cry again. "Hey it's ok you can stay with me." She nods as they load us into the ambulance.
Ashton's Pov
We are just practicing when I get a call.
"Hello?" I say into my phone
"Hello. Yes is this Mr. Irwin?"
"That's me."
"This is Dr.Jameson at Maryland High Hospital. We have your daughter Carter Samantha Irwin here she was in a muggle today at the Westside Park."
"IS SHE OK?!?!?" I scream into the phone
"Yes she seems to be okay. But she was practicing a little girl and that girl is in critical condition."
"Ok we'll be there in 5 minutes." I say and then I hang up the phone. U walk over to the counter and grab my car keys, and my wallet. The boys do the same as me when we get in the car Luke asks. "Ashton where are we going?"
"To the hospital."
"Why?!?" He says kinda yelling
"Carters there," was all I said
Carters Pov
They're putting IVs into Emma's arms and running test on her. They've been working in her for what seems like forever now and now there finally done. As everyone starts to leave the room the doctor comes over and sits next to me.
"We called your family to tell them that your here. Their on there way. We have Emma some medicine that'll make her sleep for a while. You should get some rest we'll send your family in as soon as they get here."
I nod and he leaves. I grab a blanket and lay down in the chair and fall asleep.
Ashton's pov
When we get there we tell the nurse that we are looking for Carter and she tells us that she's in room 35. When i open the door I see Carter asleep in the chair by the bed and in the bed is a little girl with bruises and IV and stuff like that on her.
The doctor walks in a few seconds after us.
"Carter said that she was just walking and she hears screaming so she fallowed it and found little Emma being beaten by two older people. She said that she beat them up to protect Emma. She grabbed Emma and ran. Once she got to a safe place she called 911 and here they are now. Emma has no parents. She ran away from the adoption center a few weeks after she was sent there. She's been living on the streets ever since."
"Wow they've had a bad day today." Michael said
"Yes they did you can take Carter home whenever you'll like." The doctor says and with that he's gone.
