Q: Who are (were) the owners?
A: I think this one is rather obvious, but! They're all supposed to be members of the ghost hunting group (minus Reader). The first owner and constructor is the ghost (hence the gender neutral pronouns and sort of vague description). The second is Vampire. The third is Blackberry. The fourth is Kumiho. The fifth is Truffle. The sixth is Werewolf. And the seventh (and last) is Licorice...and Bat-Cat, kinda, I guess.
Q: How does Reader fit into all of this?
A: Not gonna lie, I had to edit that dumb chapter so many times because my ideas kept fluctuating and I kept changing my mind...Anyways. It's supposed to be that throughout the years, Reader's been reincarnated many times and meets a different owner in each of their reincarnations.
Q: What's the deal with the ghost's speech?
A: Basically, all of the former owners used to haunt the house—though in harmless ways and only sometimes playing tricks on visitors—but one day, the ghost uh...kinda...maybe sorta...purged their spirits? Hehe...Don't ask me how that works. I didn't put that much thought into it, I wrote it in like 4 or 5 hours.
You can either interpret what they say as meaning that they were actually in a relationship with Reader before they both died, or they were simply delusional and there was zero romance between them.
Throughout Reader's reincarnations, they became friends with the other owners and therefore ignored the ghost (not like it's really Reader's fault...how are they supposed to notice a ghost man). They also imply at the end that they're just...gonna kill Reader and make sure they never reincarnate (again, don't ask me how—I don't know, maybe magical ghost binding handcuffs or something? I didn't plan every little detail man).
Q: Who's the ghost?
A: Sort of a boring answer (sorry lol), but no one in particular! Since this was a special I felt sort of bad making it centered around one specific character so I just said "fuck it" and made it ambiguous. So long as the character isn't in the ghost hunting group or a minor, they can be anyone you want! It's sort of hard to write a character as entirely ambiguous though, so yeah the mannerisms fit with certain cookies more than others.
Q: Will there be a part two?
A: No lol.
Okay, fine, actual answer—probably not. Maybe if we're still writing for Sweet Tooth by Halloween next year, but I don't know. I might do something with the same characters and house for Christmas, but we'll see. Might not even have a Christmas special lol, so...many...requests...
