Next morning, I woke up before my alarm went off.
Even though I spent most of the night with Hayul, I felt nervous to see her again today. Everything seemed like a beautiful dream, but it all was real, and that's the best part of it. I've never felt like this before, so excited and happy to see someone.
I took a shower and had breakfast; sitting down on the couch to wait for Hayul, I remembered the sticky notes on her night table.
"Make him smile"
I regret every time I behaved rude with her more than once, and she was only trying to make me feel better, makes me feel awful actually.
Between thoughts, I remembered a conversation I had with her some time ago, a few nights before our birthday.
She told me she wanted to meet the city, visit pretty places and have all that movie girl experience; so, I had an idea.
I took my phone and dialed Chan. I know he's awake, he normally goes to sleep around 8 am after working all night long, so I hope he picks up.
"Hi Hyunjinie!"
"Oh hyung! How are you?"
"I'm good, I was about to go rest a little. How's everything going there?"
"I'm really good too, everything's great" I answered happily.
"I'm glad to hear that. I spent all night arranging the track, it sounds great! You're gonna love it."
"Really? Can't wait to hear it, then!"
"I'll send it to you as soon as I can. Did you need anything?"
"Actually, yeah, kind of." I replied nervously. I'm well aware of my current situation, and that's exactly why I'm calling Chan. I know he'll know what to say.
"Sure, what is it?"
"Um, well, okay. I'll tell you, please don't get mad"
"That means it's something crazy, I guess." he sighed, already worried. I chuckled nervously.
"Remember the girl I told you about?"
"Yeah...?"
"Well, I wanna do something nice for her."
"Hyunjin..."
"Wait, wait. I know it sounds crazy. I just want to know if it's possible."
"Just tell me already"
"I want to take her to Seoul so she can meet the city."
There was a silence, he didn't say anything at first, probably thinking about a proper answer, knowing him. I heard him sigh.
"It's very risky, mate"
"I know... I just wanted to ask you about it, since you always know what's best to do."
"Ahh..." He sighed again, not sure about what to say, I guess.
"But it's okay! I know it's not a good idea, I can get in trouble and-"
"When do you want to come?"
"What?"
"Did you have a date in mind?"
"Um... not yet."
"Listen." Chan said, "It's indeed extremely risky, you can get in trouble and get us in trouble, including the show, being honest with you." he said.
I lowered my head; he's totally right. What am I even thinking? I'm being extremely reckless, and now shame took over me.
I'm letting emotions run over, and it's making me prioritize things that aren't maybe as important as their image.
Mine doesn't really matter anymore, I guess, but I can't be selfish and drag them down just because I'm thinking immaturely.
"You're right, I'm so sorry Chan, I don't know what I'm thinkin-"
"However," He interrupted me. "I don't want you to put the group before your feelings."
"W-what?"
"I know you too well, Hyunjinie" He chuckled, "I know you feel like the group is having it hard because of you, therefore, you want to put your experiences and feelings aside, and that's not okay... for any human being, it's not healthy.
If you're in love right now, I don't want you to restrain from enjoying it, I don't want you to put your personal live on hiatus too; so I think I have a plan for you."
"Hyung..."
"It's fine!" He cheered up, "This is what we're going to do"
"It's not... you're right"
"About what? I'm not done talking!"
"Don't worry about it, I'll just-"
"So! What we'll do is...!" He continued, and I felt like I wanted to cry. He's always so caring, he's the best, no doubt.
"Let me check dates and schedules. I'll see if I can find a day off, so you can come here really early in the morning and take her to meet the city. You can look for not so crowded places, and of course keep your face very covered, we don't want media identifying you."
"But what does the day off has to do with it? I mean work days here can vary."
"That's for you to bring her home so we can meet her, of course!"
"Huh?!"
"You thought you'd bring her from that far and we wouldn't get the chance to meet her? No way! We all want to!"
"What do you mean "all"?"
"I might have told them you had someone..." I heard him giggle.
"You sold me out!"
"You had to tell us sooner or later!"
"Ahh... well. Tha's okay, I'm sure she'll love to meet you guys."
"You guys can maybe have an early dinner here at home and leave by 7. You'll have to check and arrange bus schedules and tickets, though. We can't have the company take you, of course. They can't find out you were here with someone."
"Okay, I'll do that. Just let me know which day and I'll do the rest!"
"Sure! They kids will be happy to know about it."
"Thank you so much, Chanie, really. I don't know how to thank you enough."
"You don't have to worry at all. I want you to use your hiatus to heal, not the other way around."
"Thank you..."
"Well! I'll leave you now, I need to sleep a little actually. Bye bye!"
"Bye hyung! Thank you so much, once again!"
I hung up with my heart feeling very warm, and now I couldn't wait to set everything up and surprise Hayul with it. I'll have to speak with the admin to arrange dates too.
I heard a knock on my door just minutes after the call with Chan, I guess it's her. A nervous feeling got me off guard, excitement maybe.
"Morning!" She smiled.
"Good morning!" I smiled back, about to close the door behind me, but stopped. She looked at my hand on the knob and then back at me.
"What's wrong-"
I pulled her in quickly, taking a kiss away from her. Her face turned red immediately and she let out a slight giggle.
"What was that for?"
"I just felt like it" I shrugged, laughing. She hugged me for a few seconds.
"You smell good"
"Thanks, and I didn't even shower today." I joked.
"Ew!" She pushed me away, immediately rolling her eyes at me as she noticed my still wet hair. "Come on, Let's get to work!" She held my arm and pulled me back outside.
