"How're you?"
"I'm kinda just tired." Shaniyah said honestly
"How so?"
"I feel numb, my life was perfect and in a month it all went to shit."
"It feels like nothing, you've just got to live with nothing. It's shit." She said
"Have you been using again?"
"What? No!" She denied
"I've known you for almost ten years Shaniyah."
"So? What's that supposed mean?"
"It means that I know how you act when you are sober and when you aren't." She said calmly
"Jade froze my accounts."
"They informed me."
"I need money."
"I can't help you with that."
She could and would've gave Shaniyah money because she wasn't just her therapist , over the years they had grown fond of each other but she wouldn't feed into Shaniyahs addiction.
"It's for food for the kids."
"Jade has his ways but I know your kids are being fed." Ashley said
"Well it's for me! I work I shouldn't have to ask when I need to but stuff!"
"They are just looking out for you, we all are."
"You drink whenever life gets hard, how are what me and you doing any different?"
"I never claimed to perfect."
"Doesn't seem like it."
She said sitting back down with a small sigh
"If I ever made you feel like I was acting as if I was better then you I apologise because that isn't my intentions, I'm not better than you."
"Yeah?" She asked
Ashley sighed putting down her notepad
"During a rough time in my life not that long ago I started to question everything, like my faith, friend and family, even my own kids and I refused to believe that and everything was going to shits was because of me."
"Ashley you went downhill?"
"Yes. When I was younger I was a lot like you eventually I grew out of wanting the excitement of that life but every now and then I cringe at how mundane my life is now... I started drinking and went back to that negative place, where all I wanted was to drink and sleep."
"The point is Shaniyah you've been hell and back and I know right now that things are hard but you are a strong women. You're allowed to cry and be hurt because your companion died and that's not something you get over easily I truly don't believe you ever do."
"I just need to the pain to stop."
"Using doesn't stop the pain it just numbs it for a while but the pain of addiction comes crashing down sooner than later."
"W-what if after all I've been through.. something's gone wrong inside of me?"
"Shaniyah don't say that there isn't"—
"I am! If I am not hurting myself, I am hurting everyone around me!" She cried
"Let's face it I am what's wrong."
"No don't say that."
"I'm done. I'm a horrible, I've had enough. How do you keep going? When the worst things happens to you? I'm a problem."
"Looks like our times up." She said with a sad smile, "Shaniyah I can't let you leave if I feel like you'll hurt yourself."
"I'm careless not suicidal."
"Same things."
"Goodbye Ashley."
She whispered before leaving

Neko and Eliana sat across from each other as their lawyers sat besides them discussing what each of them would get, Eliana who had been sitting there quietly and had only looked up twice since she arrived was shaking silent, she felt like her heart was about to explode.
This was really the end.
"Miss Raves?"
"Y-yeah?"
"Do you understand your claim?" She looked over at her lawyer before nodding slowly
"So you're asking for three out of the four houses you two own, all of the cars except for Mr reigns Jeep, Full custody"—
"Wait what? No. I just want my old house. My car and my eldest daughters car."
They looked up at her confused.
"And shared custody." She added
"What about your kids that aren't his?"
"Shared." She said simply
"You can go for so much mo"—
"I-I don't want anymore."
She said her voice trembling.
"Are you alright?"
"Yes I'm fine."
"Elian"—
"Give us a minute." Neko interrupted
"I'm not sure that's the best idea."
"Don't you see her right now? She's clearly not okay. Give us a second."
They reluctantly left the room, the two of them sat in silence for two minutes before she started to sob as her body shook violently.
"I-I messed up." She cried
"Shh, calm down." He mumbled
"I-I'm sorry."
"Listen to me Elle, it's not too late. We can leave here and forget all about this."
"I-I've hurt you too much!"
"No you haven't. I still fucking love you."
"You still love me?"
"Yes Eliana."
"But I keep hurting you?"
"Why do you then?" He asked
"Because I'm selfish." She cried
"A-and because-
"Because I was a afraid of loosing you," she cried shaking her head, looking up at him, "and I can't loose you."
"You're not loosing me."
"Yes, yes I am."
"What do you want?" He asked
"I-I don"—
"I need a answer."
"I do"—
"Times up you can't convince my client to do anything."
Her lawyer said barging back into the room
Shaniyahs house.
"Shaniyah?" Jade called walking into her house but he got no response, "Niyah!'
"You didn't hear me calling you?" He asked
"I-I." She couldn't get out anymore words before she started to throw up, her body began to shame violently and he grabbed her
"Shaniyah?" He called but she couldn't speak

"Shut the fuck up." Neko spat
"Excuse me?"
"You fucking heard me bitch."
"I don't kn"—
"I don't want to leave." She said looking up at neko, "I want to go home with you." She continued
"You foreal?"
"Yes."
Her phone began to ring and when she answered it she saw that the caller id said "Jade."
"What do yo"—-
"It's Shaniyah!!"

"You know you can't stay, right?" He asked
"W-why?"
"Because it isn't your time yet."
"I don't wanna do it anymore." She cried into his chest, "You can't leave them Nie."
He whispered rubbing her back softly
"I miss you! I'm so tired Marcus I need you."
She cried
"One day when it's your time we'll be reunited again and we'll be together but now is too soon. You need to be there for the kids."
"I-I can't."
"Yes you can. I'll be watching you from here and when it's your time we'll be together again."
"I'll be old."
"No you won't."
"I-I love you."
"I love you too."
6 months later.
He sighed looking over at her, she looked dead. She practically was after a whole six months she still hasn't moved or even looked like she was getting better.
He couldn't help the tears that slipped down his face, sitting down in the chair next to his he looked over at her sadly.
"I can't do this shit without you ma," He started letting out a shaky breath,
"I'm trying to make sense of why'd you fall back into that place but I understand and I promise nobody's mad at you Niyah we just want you back."
"I need you. We need you, I can't do this without." He trailed off
He wiped his face as more tears fell but it didn't really help, his vision was blurred
"I understand that your in pain and that you miss him but Niyah if you can hear me please don't leave your kids.. they need you."
"I-I need you."
He whispered before sighing and looking over at once more just to see her laying there pale, wired up with tubes and looked almost dead.
He walked over to the door, grabbing the door handle. Standing there longer than needed,
Specifically 10 minutes before he finally went to turn the door knob
"J-Jade?"

Whew, it's really over!! Disclaimer I made this book around 2 years ago, I've grown so much and have gotten better but redemption will always have a place in my heart because it was one of my for ever books and I know it's not perfectly edited. messy, toxic and so much more but I'll forever love this book.

It's a teen story based in a corrupted rehabilitation facility but let's just say if you thought redemption was toxic you're not ready for this book. It's a short story so it's 20 chapters and there will be 2 bonus chapters.
