Quick Recap. On: A New Age of Warfare
Last time on...... eh I'm lazy check the last chapter. If not, let me explain. Our main boi is now tasked to protect the Grizalan Kingdom from its enemies. He trained for 6 days when a messenger arrives and brings grave news, The Quan Dynasty and the Ushia Kingdom started the attack on the Grizalans. While the Eastern Front is stabilized, the Western Front is not. James, Samantha, and his men were teleported to the Western Front to assist the remaining two forts. He then saved a person and his men from death. Now they are going back to the fort to plan something...
This is where he will turn the tide...
For he will bring his enemies to their knees...

Samantha puts her hands in her mouth as she gasps at the map, "They took so much!"
I nodded at Samantha solemnly, "Indeed," I then looked at the map, "But don't worry I have a plan for The Upcoming War."
I have learned something while I was back at the castle, apparently the Grizalan Military had 30,000 - 40,000 troops stationed at each region capital city. So it means that the Grizalan Military has 120,000 - 160,000 troops stationed at each region. While the forts hold 11,000 - 35,000 troops each, they have a total of 22 Forts scattered around the country:
Ardwood - Kingdom Capital City - No. of Forts = 5
Vlares - Western Region Capital City - No. of Forts = 3
Olkford - Southern Region Capital City - No. of Forts = 6
Polis - Northern Region Capital City - No. of Forts = 5
Valkras - Eastern Region Capital City - No. of Forts = 3
With 22 Forts, that there is more than 240,000+ total troops at all Forts!
Which means that the total strength of the Grizalan Military is estimated to have 400,000+ troops in total. That's not even counting on local militia, if they called are in, I estimate that the troops are totaled at 500,000 to 700,000+ troops.
Now that is a lot of troops, especially the when the kingdom is a medium sized nation, not to small, not to big, just a regular sized nation.
I looked at the map and see the battle lines drawn from the map. The front seems to be stabilized for a bit, the 3rd fort at the bottom looks like they can hold out long since they got the river as a barrier and are probably getting reinforcements at the Southern Region.
While the 2nd Fort at the top is in a... not so good state. The front line seems to have totally collapsed which left a big gap in the line, wide enough to push through. It seems that they want to take the 2nd fort since its connected to the Northern Region and that the 2nd fort is getting reinforcements every month or so.
"So that's why they want to take the 2nd fort. They want to cut the supply lines and extend the front lines to the city," I deduced the plan that this Quans are doing.
Samantha gasps at my revelation, "If that happens, we could potentially lose the Western Region!"
I nod at Samantha, "I know, I need to think of a strategy now. But we need to go back to the fort."
Samantha nods at me.
I then walked up to Captain Will, "Captain Will, ready to move out?" hoping that we might begin to move out since the enemy might come at us at any moment.
Captain Will looked at me with a nod, "Yeah, I'll get my men sorted out, you should to," he got up from the ground.
"You got it Cap."
As we departed to our respective armies, I got to a position, then shouted commands.
"MEN! FALL IN! COLUMN FORMATION!"
Just like that the whole brigade performed a column formation in 3-4 minutes. I also decided to use up all of my unit cap to max my units. I summoned:

He then added some new units into the mix:
10 American Heavy Machine gunners with is standard equipment carrying Browning M1917 Machine Gun. While 1 person carries the Gun, the other person carries the ammunition.
10 British Snipers with its standard equipment but wearing camo clothes: All of them uses the British Pattern 1914 Enfield with scope.
10 German Flamethrowers with its standard equipment: All of the uses the Wechselapparat (Wex) which is a portable flamethrower that can be carried by 1 person.
25 German Heavy/Light Machine gunners with its standard equipment: 15 carrying MG 08/1 While 1 person carries the Gun, the other person carries the ammunition. 10 Maschinengewehr 08 that can be carried by 1 person.
I then promoted the 2 First Class Sergeant and 1 Sergeant Major into officers for the Brigades, I promoted them for the 1st Army Brigade:

As I summoned my new officers for the brigade, I told them that they command the 1st Infantry Brigade, they saluted and positioned next to him with the division army officers. He then addressed his new soldiers to go to their respective nations.
"ALRIGHT! FRESH MEAT! MOVE TO YOUR RESPECTIVE COMPANIES FOR EACH NATION! NOW MOVE IT!"
Then all of the new soldiers moved to their new companies that just formed today, I then promoted the last 4 Sergeants into Majors for each company.

Now that my unit cap is maxed, I checked the formation, one last time. I was satisfied with the formation, I then walked to Captain Will who is... shocked on what was happening in front of him, his men was also gob smacked on what happened in front of them. Captain Will then shook his head and shouted, "YOU CAN SUMMON SOLDIERS!!!"
I was visibly surprised by Captain Will's sudden outburst, "Geez, calm down. My division is still small, so don't be exaggerated," I waved my hand.
Captain Will shook his head, "Small or not, you can summon soldiers at your will!" he still shouted at me, his shouting is making my ears bleed.
I put my hands on his shoulder while calming him down, "But I have a downside though, I am limited on how many soldiers I can summon. Right now, I have reached my soldier limit," hopefully this shuts him.
"Still, it's still impressive. It's not common to see someone who can summon an army out of thin air," he said.
I removed my hands from his shoulders as I smiled at him, "Well thank you" "Come on now, we need to move out before an enemy scout or enemy battlegroup sees us."
Captain Will nods at me, "Right, let's go," he then left me as he moved to his regiment, "MEN! PERFORM COLUMN FORMATION!" there he shouted at his men.
As he said that, his men performed a column formation of some sort. As we were preparing to depart, I noticed a small detail that needs to be addressed.
"Uhh, Captain Will"
Captain Will looked at me as he walked towards me, "What is it Sir James?"
I looked at him sheepishly while rubbing my head, "Can you... uh... be first at the march."
Captain Will looks at me with a confused expression, "But why Sir James?"
"Well... I don't think a foreign army arriving at the front door of a fortress would be a good idea."
Captain Will caught my problem, "Oh your right, I'll be at the front then."
I smiled at Captain Will, "Nice."
As he positioned his men at the front, I positioned my men at the back of his regiment.
Captain Will then shouted, "FORWARD!"
Then his regiment moved, looks like it's time to move, "FORWARD MARCH!" I also shouted while my six officers were behind me and Samantha beside me. We were positioned at the front of my division as we walked to the fort up ahead.
Just like that my men walked forward, more than 2,000 men moved in sync, looks like this is a long walk.
While I was walking, I was in deep thought. I mean the war was sudden and the Grizalans were caught off guard and is taking a beating from two fronts.
I looked at Samantha who was beside me as always, the 6 officers at the back and my army further back, the men at front with Captain Will. Looks like this will be a difficult war, like hell I would let them take them away from me. After all, I made a promise at the Castle a while then...

1 hour and 10 minutes Later
We have been walking for an hour now, I can see the fort up ahead, we should be arriving in 10 or 20 minutes. The journey to the fort was kind of relaxing actually, yeah there is a war going on, but admiring the landscape is breath taking to be honest.
The country's landscape is quite gorgeous; huge lakes, vibrant green forests and green open fields is just a sliver of the brilliance that the Grizalan Kingdom has to offer, which is why the country is admired among foreigners. The people of Grizalan are loving towards foreigners and tend to welcome them with a feast. They feel foreigners could promote the country's wellbeing.
There is no pollution anywhere, it's like this place was untouched by civilization, it's beautiful.
We then walked into a natural landscape chokepoint. Huh this place would be perfect to create a trench line if we are positioned here.
10 minutes later, we arrived at the fort... huh what a big fort... a very big one. If all the forts are like this, how the hell did the Quans managed to defeat one?!

We then arrived at the main gate of this epik fortress, a guard then appeared at the gate tower and then shouted, "WHO GOES THERE!"
Captain Will put his hands in a shouting manner, "IT'S ME, CAPTAIN WILL!" he waved.
The gate guard looked surprised and confused at Captain Will, "CAPTAIN?! I THOUGHT YOU WERE GOING TO FORT VALK?"
Captain Will shouted, "I NEED TO SPEAK TO COMMANDER ABOUT FORT VALK! NOW OPEN THE GATE!"
"I WILL, BUT WHO ARE THEY!?" The gate guard points at me and my division
Captain Will looks at me and I nod at him, "OUR NEW ALLY! THEY WERE SENT BY THE KING HIMSELF!"
The gate guard put his hand on his mouth, "Oh..." he then looked at his side, then shouted, "STAND BY FOR THE GATE OPENING!" he then left the post.
As the guard left his post, we then waited for a minute before the gate began opening. We then proceeded towards the fort and I see many people doing their tasks, they then stop to see not only that the 31st Light Infantry Regiment came back early, but they also brought new comers who was with him at the back of his division.
Many soldiers or officers stopped and looked at the new arrivals, others started to whisper and giving me weird and very rude comments.
"Hey, do you see those people?" one of the garrison soldier said while pointing at me and my men.
"Yeah, but who are they?"
"I don't know man, but there clothes is weird,"
"Yeah, but what are those sticks they carry?" "
They look like wands of some sort, whatever they carry, there are others who carry big ones too,"
"Heh, weird clothes and weird wands. They look so weak,"
"Yeah, they don't have any armor, they can be so killed easily,"
"I don't know man, they look experienced to me. The look they're giving off, it's like they've been to a war before"
As they keep commenting about my units, Captain Will showed up and walked to me, "I have to tell garrison commander about the fort and you guys, can you stay here while I call him?"
I looked at Captain Will and nodded at him, "Sure, I'll wait here."
Captain Will then nodded and turned away to leave me and go towards the fort. I then looked at Samantha looking uncomfortable for some reason.
"Samantha, are you alright?"
"I'm fine, but the these men look at me for some reason, it's making me uncomfortable,"
I then looked at the soldier of the fort and I see some of them look at Samantha... lustfully. So they are looking at Samantha like that huh, yeah I have to admit, Samantha has a nice figure, a cute personality, and a hardworking woman, a definite wife material in my opinion.
As I was saying that in my head, a person then walked at my direction and just ignored me and starts flirting with Samantha.
"Hey girl your cute, want to go out?"
Samantha shook her head as she waved her hands, "No thanks"
He didn't get the memo as he continues to flirt her, "Come on now, you can come with me you know. I have money and power that you can imagine. Leave that weak looking guy, I'm better than him," he points at me. I then get very pissed off about this guy.
Samantha looks visibly uncomfortable about this guy, "No thanks... I'm... fine..."
The soldier then grabbed Samantha and starts saying things like 'date me' and 'marry me', dang he must be desperate. He sounds like a virgin to be honest. Samantha looks visibly troubled at the soldier as she desperately wants to remove his arm of off her, the soldier then grips so tightly at her arm that she is showing signs of hurt in her eyes. Time intervene now, this is gone too far!
I then looked at the soldier and gripped his shoulder.
"Oi! She said no right, so get the hell out here!"
"Get the fuck of me!" he lets go from Samantha and starts gripping my hand, "You don't know who you're dealing with right now!"
I removed his hand from mine as I glared at him, "Huh, I may not know. But you don't know who you're dealing with."
"So what, your jealous that I was about to date a cute and sexy girl huh!"
I scoffs at him as I crossed my arms, "Heh, looks like your pickup line is shit, she said no bruh, then you started saying 'date me' or 'marry me'. You sounded so desperate, you sounded like a horny virgin who wants some action."
The soldiers around us then started snickering and chuckling about the soldier in front of me, even his buddies started snickering. The soldier in front of me starts to go red from the embarrassment he received, he then suddenly looked angry at me.
"YOU!" he points at me, "YOU DON'T KNOW WHO AM I!!!" he shouted so loud, it can be heard from the building.
I decided to play dumb, "Uhhhh, an ordinary human?"
Samantha looked at me with a deadass deadpan look, "Wot?"
"What," I shrug, "He asked who he is, so he is an ordinary human. What am I, supposed to say, you're an alien?"
"YOU PEASANT! I'M A SERGEANT OF THE 12th LIGHT INFANTRY SQUAD!"
That raised my eyebrow, and I'm the general of an army that petty rank does not scare me, "So what?" I looked at him with a smug ass look, "I'm a general of the army, your petty rank does not make me scared"
Okay, he then looked very red now. Like he's about to explode into a million pieces, "ENOUGH! You think your better huh, well..." he unsheathes his sword, this caught me and Samantha in an anxious stance, "How about a little fight on who is better," he points at me, "You? Or..." he then points at himself, "Me?"
Then another garrison soldier moves in front of him with a defensive stance, as he attempts to cool down the situation, "Whoa! Man calm down, I get it you are angry at him, I'll be angry too if I was in your shoes, but fighting is not the answer!"
The soldier who was looking at his fellow comrade with an irritated look said, "Jake! Move out of the way! I'll teach that guy a lesson!" The person in the front of him now identified as Jake.
The person, Jake, tried to calm down his friend, "Calm down Jacob or else!" Oh looks like the person who is angry at me is now identified as Jacob. "Or else what?!"
"Or else you will be demoted to Private..." an unknown voice then was heard from the entrance of the building.
We then looked at the direction where the voice originated, a person who looks like they're in their 30s or 40s, whatever he is, looked pissed. I then saw Captain Will right behind him shaking he's head, huh, when did they get here?
20 minutes earlier before Garrison Commander and Captain Will appeared
Will's P.O.V.
As I left Sir James at the front door of the command building, I needed to meet with the garrison commander about Fort Valk. After 3 minutes of navigating the building, I spotted a door which has the name Garrison Commander Paul Harvey. I then knocked at the door 3 times and heard a muffled 'come in', I opened the door with Commander Paul at the table doing some paper work.
Garrison Commander Paul then noticed me, he then looked confused for a second as he starts questioning me.
Garrison Commander Paul looked confused at me, "Captain Will? Why are you here? I thought I ordered you and your regiment to assist Fort Valk?
"Sir, I have bring some news regarding to Fort Valk," sadly, I have to say the bad news to commander.
Garrison Commander Paul looked visibly worried for a second, "News? What happened to Fort Valk?"
"Commander, Fort Valk has fallen to the enemy."
Garrison Commander Paul looked visibly shocked at the news that I said, "Fallen?! How do you know this?!" he demanded an answer.
"Commander I and my regiment had encountered an enemy force while we were going to Fort Valk, I then concluded that they have managed to destroy or captured the Fort."
Garrison Commander Paul brought his hand to his chin as he scratched it, "This is troubling news, are you and your regiment alright?" he looked at me while fixing his monocle.
I nodded at him, "We're fine sir, but we lost more than 250 men. We would've been wiped out or lose more men when another army came and saved us."
"Another army? Who is it?" Garrison Commander Paul looked interested about the army that saved me and my regiment.
"Sir, the so called 'General of the Army' said that the king ordered him to assist the Western Region."
Garrison Commander Paul then looked happy for a second, weird, "Oh, I think that's guy! The higher-ups said that a friendly army was supposed to be transported here at the Western Region."
I was surprised at this, apparently he knew James' army was here, "Wot? You knew there was a friendly army coming?"
Garrison Commander Paul nods at me, "Yeah, but there was two problems, we don't know where they are and what they are. But it seems you found them."
I looked at the commander with confusion, "How did you know though?"
Garrison Commander Paul then points at the floating blue crystal in the corner of the room which is floating at a table, "They communicated with me with this crystal, they just said that to me an hour ago."
"Huh, neat crystal"
"Indeed," he looked at me, "Now, where is that 'General of the Army'?"
I pointed outside of the window, "He's at the front entrance of the building."
Garrison Commander Paul nods at me, "Good, now before we meet him, let's talk about the problem at hand," he said as he looked at the documents and the problem at the front.
As we talked for 16 minutes about the problem with the Western Region, as we discussed some stuff about tactics and logistics. A loud shout was heard from outside of the building.
"YOU PEASANT! I'M A SERGEANT OF THE 12th LIGHT INFANTRY SQUAD!"
Dang, that shout was loud.
Garrison Commander Paul looked at the window from his table, "Who's that shouting?"
I shrug, "I don't know sir, I should check it out for you," I then moved towards the door.
Before I left the room Garrison Commander Paul then said, "Wait, I'm coming with you," he said while getting his coat and sword.
"Sir, with all due respect, you have paperwork and other duties to attend."
Garrison Commander Paul waves at me as he puts on his coat, "The paperwork is done, although for the other duties I'll do them later. Something in my gut is telling me that this will be an interesting day," he then put his sword to his side, "Alright, let's go."
I nodded at him as we moved out from the office, "As you wish sir, let's go."
As we walked out of Garrison Commander Paul's office to find the source of the shouting we then reached at the entrance of the building, then the shouting became louder and louder as we almost reached the entrance of the building. We then see a fellow garrison soldier shouting at James for some reason. "Calm down Jacob or else!" While another fellow soldier said to try and calm him down, "Or else what?!"
That's when Commander Paul intervened, "Or else you will be demoted to Private..."
As he said that, all people looked at Garrison Commander Paul and all of the soldiers at the fort moved away from us and resumed to their jobs. That only left James, Samantha, Sgt. Jacob, and James's Army. Garrison Commander Paul then walked at the middle of James and Sgt. Jacob and asked.
Garrison Commander Paul moved in front of the two fighting men, "What's going on here?"
Sir James then looked at Commander with a salute, "Nothing sir"
The soldier who was angry at James was now identified as Jacob, he then saluted at Commander, "Nothing Commander."
Garrison Commander Paul raised an eyebrow while looking at the two, "Then what's with the shouting?"
Sir James shakes his head, "Nothing sir"
Then Jacob shouted and points at Sir James, "It's him that started it commander!"
Sir James took offence at that as he starts shouting and pointing, "That's bullshit! You started it!"
Sgt. Jacob shouted, "No! You started it!"
James then shouted, "No! You started it!"
"No! You started it!"
"No! You started it!"
"No! You started it!"
"No! You started it!"
"No! You started it!"
"No! You starte-" then a whack was heard and a thud.
James then got smacked by Samantha... ouch... that looked it hurt. Andddddddddddddddd...... James then fell to the floor face first... double ouch...
Garrison Commander Paul looks at the now unconscious James on the ground, "Uhhh, is he going to be alright?" he looked at him with worry.
Samantha then looked at commander with a smile, "Don't worry, he'll be alright."
That smile is scaring me... I think the people that saw it was also scared. She then looked at Jacobs who is currently walking back slowly, "You want?" she said as she raises her fist with a visible red mark.
"Uhhhhhhhhhhh... yeah... no... He can keep you, BYE!" he then runs far away from her, leaving a dust trail at his back.
Garrison Commander Paul then looked around at James' army, "Okay... now that's done. Where is the Second Officer of this Army?"
A dark grey coated person with three stars then stepped forward, "Here sir," he then walked to Commander Paul.
Garrison Commander Paul smiled at the person who is now walking towards him, as the dark grey coated person stepped in front of Commander Paul, the commander then said, "Well then, while some events have... happened today," he looked at James who is still unconscious then looked back at Lutz, "It's pleasure to meet you," Commander Paul raised his hand.
"Indeed," as the three star person shakes his hand, "It is very welcoming."
Garrison Commander Paul smiles at him, "Well then, Welcome to Fort Krass," he said with open arms.
