Chapter 10
"Come on, Y/N... You're still going to beat my ass... right? So wake up..."
Mikey held her cold hands.
She was in a deep slumber, tubes attached in every part of her body and another tube attached to her mouth.
He was told that she just had a relapse.
"Y/N was a tough lady...", he heard Mizaki murmured under her breath.
"Yeah, she'll overcome this...", Mikey sounded like he was the one who is convincing himself.
"I-I don't think so....", Mizaki choked back a sob. "S-She never complained to me, Manjiro... Not once, did she show her tears. I never know how chemotherapy works, but... I know it hurts like hell.... But she never said anything..."
Mikey continued listening.
"Even when she was only 8 that time when the doctors had said her fate, and still silently grieving for her parents, she did not wail nor cry like the others of her age... She carried this burden throughout her life, Manjiro..."
"She's already in her last stage of Leukemia..."

"A-Auntie... Mikey...", Y/N mumbled. The two almost stumbled on their way to check the girl. Her voice stifled with the tube placed on her mouth.
"I-I'll go call the doctors...", Mizaki excused herself.
"H-How do you feel?"
She did not answer him. Not only because of the extreme exhaustion she's feeling, but she's afraid she'll break down in front of him once she said something.
"...Love..."
And yet, she failed.
A broken sob came from her lips, one after another, until it was uncontrollable anymore.
"...i-it hurts... please.. m-make it stop..."
Mikey gripped her hands tight as his eyes never left hers.
Gone were her lively eyes, it was filled with sorrow and pain.
"...I don't wanna d-die yet...."
Five words. Five words are all that took him.
Two lovers, grieved at the same time. One grieved for the girl he loves, and one grieved for the people she might leave broken once she die.
