Plot Summary: It's been more than a month or two that Ran had been assigned to assassinate you by the orders of a kingdom nearby for the king's own benefit. But during his stay with you, he tried to find ways to assassinate you like he always would in less than a day but he couldn't bring himself to and much to his fears he had developed feelings for you. Then the day came where he found the perfect opportunity to do so but he was hesitant and is very conflicted.
Small Info: The Reader would be the king's younger sibling who is a few months younger than Ran who is 17 and the Reader is 16! Also I may or may not have taken a bit of inspiration from an AO3 fic known as Bishop's Knifetrick by bovinedaemon which is a Ran x Jackie fanfic and by Ran and Jackie I mean the characters from TFTSMP: The Pit! I also took a bit of inspiration from -R4NBUTLER's book called The Flower Garden which is a Ranboo x Reader AU! Oh and the art above is an illustration of the Ran and Jackie Fic! Also Tasmin is a Tommy inspired character made by the AO3 author! I suggest you read those books cause they are amazing!

Ran's Point of View~
Where can I begin...? The best place I can start with is how I am an assassin to the king from a kingdom which is not so far yet not so close to the Subbin Empire. I was assigned to kill somebody from the Royal Family from the Subbin Empire. That supposed someone was a princess who happened to be the little sister of King Porkius VII.
King Porkius happens to be a Human-Piglin hybrid who is a just and prosperous ruler of the Empire. His sister, the princess is only a human with no piglin features but the two are blood related. The Subbin Empire was filled with humans, hybrids and mobs that lived peacefully together.
The cover I had to take was to be the princess' body guard so I could get close to her so I could earn her trust. The king however was delighted to have me be his sister's bodyguard after I told him that I am very good in combat and can defend very well. I did however use my real name cause nobody knows who I am so I was in the safe.
It took me two months to get close to the Princess whose name I learned was Y/N. The name fit her well. She was pretty nervous when she met me. We got to know each other well and I basically made sure that I don't get attached. My mission was to to kill her.
Killing her wasn't easy. It wasn't her, it was me. I wasn't able to get the right moment to do so. I would always see that someone else would be here with us or anywhere near so it would have been no use and I would be caught red handed.
Two more months had passed and I still wasn't able to do my job. I really wanted to be over with it. I was glad that I was given 6 months to do this but I started to feel weird around her. Not anything in a bad way. I always get this feeling in my chest whenever she says my name or whenever she smiles or just talks to me.
I brushed it off thinking it was nothing. But I was wrong. A month later, I later learned that this feeling was 'love'. One of the maids in the palace told me about this. I was able to keep my composure and bid her well after she said this but inside I was screaming. I wasn't supposed to fall in love. I dreaded this. I got attached to her.
I realized that if I stayed any longer near her, I would not be able to get my job done. I have to kill her when the moment is right and if my wish hadn't already come true, I heard that Y/N's birthday was around the corner in the coming week. I knew that this would be perfect cause I could take her to an isolated place in the palace and get my job done.
But... did I want this? My gut told me that I have to do this since I always complete my missions but my heart was telling me otherwise. At this point I was very much torn. I wanted to scream but I couldn't. I wanted to run away but I couldn't. I didn't know what to do. I took a few deep breaths and made up my decision. I had to do it. Even if it pained me so.
A week later~
Today was the day. It was the day that a huge celebration was prepared for the Princess' 17th birthday. I couldn't have felt any more worse than I already was feeling. But I have kept them aside till I was done with what I was told to do originally.
Right now, I was in the ballroom where the party was being hosted. I stood beside the buffet as I watched the guests pile in while I drank what was appropriate for me. I wasn't an adult to even drink wine or any alcohol so I didn't even touch any of that.
The King and the Princess haven't arrived yet. I saw that here were many royals such as kings, queens, princes, princesses and dukes and duchesses in the area. There were other Nobility as well. I was glad this room was bog or I would have felt compacted here.
I swirled my drink in the glasses as I took a sip. I was so lost in thought that I didn't pay much attention to what was happening until I heard a loud voice from my side which snapped me out of my thoughts.
"Hello? Anyone in there!" I noticed a hand wave in front of me as I looked down to see a boy who was pretty short like 5'6 but he looked about the same age as me. I was like 6'10 so I was very tall.
"Sorry. I wasn't paying attention." I said apologizing.
"I could see that. My name is Jackie. Who are you?" He short blonde asked.
"My name is Ran. I am the bodyguard to the princess." I said as I saw his eyes light up in excitement.
"Wait really?! That's cool! But why aren't you with the Princess now?" He asked quizzically.
"I would have been but I have been told that I am not needed at the moment. The King told me this himself so here I am." I explained.
"Woah!" He said and before he could speak another voice came from behind him.
"Jackie! What did I say about running off like this?" An older voice said from behind as I looked at them. He happened to have beach blonde hair and seemed pretty old but I wouldn't say he's that old but he was slightly young looking too.
"Sorry!" Jackie apologized as the man shook his head.
"It's alright but you're literally in a different place and could get easily lost and I know you're capable but still." He said to Jackie as the younger one nodded.
"I know." he said looking up and I noticed him perk up as well.
"Hey I see Tasmin over there! I'll be with him! Bye Ran!" he said bidding me farewell as he ran over to a person who was a hybrid that was waving over at Jackie.
"So Ran huh?" I heard the older person say as I nodded slowly feeling slightly nervous. He then offered his hand out.
"Name's Watson. I am a good friend of Porkius. He told me a lot about you. You are a good kid." He said as I took his hand and shook it slowly.
"It's a pleasure to meet you sir." I said as he chuckled and shook his head.
"Please call me Watson." He said.
"Okay then Watson. Say are you Jackie's father?" I asked as he let out a small laugh and shook his head.
"No no. He's a general from where I am from since I am a Duke of Minecraftia. But yet I treat him like a son." He said as I nodded.
"I see." I said as I drank a bit more and started to talk to each other.
To be honest, he was really nice to talk with. He seemed to be very fatherly and nice. he even told me that he has a wife and a son who was in his 20s. The son happened to like music apparently and wrote songs.
We then took a break from conversing as Watson drank some wine while I just looked around. As I was, I heard a conversation being exchanged between two Princes and they weren't even that far away so I could hear them well.
"I heard that the princess is very beautiful and many people have wanted to escort her. I can tell the Princess would be head over heels for me the minute I come up to her." I heard one of them say.
"Oh please! Like she would fall for you. I know what the princess really likes. I have seen her around in flower shops looking at a certain flower and I know what she likes eating too." I heard the other say and I swear he was a literal stalker.
"You sound like a creep! I have the higher ups on getting her so don't even think of getting close to her." The first one said as I rolled my eyes.
A bunch of a**holes. There was no way in hell I was gonna let these simpletons near the princess. I was so busy thinking about bashing their heads that I didn't notice Watson was smirking at me until I heard his cough.
"You alright mate? You looked pretty irritated or should I say jealous." He said trying not to laugh as I slightly blushed.
"What? Me? No!" I said quickly taking a sip of my drink to avoid anymore question as as Watson was giggling at my flustered self. I didn't want to believe I was jealous but I didn't know anymore.
Third Person Point of View~
As everybody had arrived it was also the time for the King and Princess to make their way to the ballroom. After the Royal Advisor had checked to see if everything was in order, he made his way and got everybody's attention as they stopped doing what they were doing and turned their attention towards him. The doors then opened to reveal the king and you.
"Welcome! His Royal Majesty, King Porkius VII and her Royal Highness, Princess Y/N." The Duke announced as everybody were in awe after seeing the royal siblings walk in elegantly.
People were mostly awed by the you who looked as beautiful as ever in your white and silver dress which she wore gracefully and on top your head was a tiara which was made artificially to look like a flower crown.
Ran would be lying if he denied that you looked beautiful. Ran's breath hitched the moment she saw You come in wearing that dress as your hair was tied down from the side with two french braids as your hair laid loose in the back which shaped your face well.
He was a blushing mess. Watson saw Ran's state and silently chuckled leaving the blushing boy be as he went over to greet his friend. Ran could feel his face burning so he first calmed himself down before he could make his way over to you.
He saw that you were talking to a few princesses and royalty, se he waited till you were left alone. After a while, he saw that you didn't have anyone else coming over to you, so he straitened up his maroon coat which he wore over his Victorian Shirt and started to walk towards you.
Before he could come any closer to you, he saw the two princes that were speaking about you earlier. This made him a bit annoyed and by the looks of it they seemed to be making you uncomfortable so he made his way over to you three.
"Ahem! Hello your highness." He said as he came to you three and by the looks of it, you seemed very relieved to see him.
"Oh hello Ran!" You said with a happy tone while the Princes seemed to be pretty offended.
"And who might you be?" The first Prince asked trying to sound nice which Ran picked up to be fake.
"I am Ran. Her Highness' bodyguard. It is my duty to keep her safe or to see if anyone is bothering her. But I did promise a dance to her Highness." He said as he glanced over at you as he saw you smile and nod.
"I remember well." You said as Ran offered his hand to you as you took it and he walked off with you.
"Wow! Sucks to be them!" Tasmin said from a distance as he looked at Jackie nod.
"Yep!" he said agreeing with his friend.
"Who does that lowlife of a hybrid think he is?!" The first one said.
"I think we should do something to get rid of him." The second one said and before they could speak a voice came from behind them which instantly made them freeze up.
"Is something the matter young princes?" The princes turned around to see King Porkius and Duke Watson.
"N-no. We're good!" The second prince said as the first one nodded.
"Good! Then I suggest you two run off somewhere and not cause problems for my people." The King said as the two princes ran off without saying a word.
"I honestly never liked those two. I heard their conversations about courting your sister and all but it was unsettling." Watson said as Porkius nodded.
"Yes I didn't like them either. They aren't worthy of my sister anyways." He said.
"Though I think Ran is a good match for your sister, don't you think? He seems well behaved and responsible." Watson said as Porkius hummed.
"I always thought of Ran as a well behaved kid. I guess you could say I agree with you on this." The king said agreeing as a smile formed on her face as he looked over at you and Ran who were getting ready to dance as the music shifted.
Ran's Point of View~
As I led Y/N over to the dance floor, the music shifted and I saw everybody finding a partner and getting ready to dance. Me and Y/N both got into position but then I noticed that she looked nervous.
"Is something wrong?" I asked as she looked at me and then down at her feet.
"I should have told you that I am not really great with ballroom dancing." She said but I smiled.
"It's fine. Just follow my lead and you'll be fine." I said as we both started out slowly and she seemed pretty tense thinking that she might step on my feet by accident but I told her to look at me so she would be less tense. She didn't make a single mistake and seemed to be at ease.
"See? I told you that you would be fine." I said as she smiled.
"I guess you really know what to do Ran." She said as I lightly blushed at her words and her smile.
"It's nothing really." I said as we continued dancing but then Y/N spoke up.
"Do you want to get away from the ballroom with me?" She asked as I looked at her a bit surprised.
"Why? Don't you want to stick around for your party?" I asked as I mentally cursed as to why I even said that cause that would be a perfect opportunity to do my job but I was hesitating as well.
"I never really agreed to this plus I need some time away from people here." She said as we stopped dancing and she grabbed my hand and dashed towards the exit without anyone noticing.
We continued running until we came to a stop at the gardens. I always remembered that it was Y/N's favorite place out of all the areas in the palace. I always remember how she passionately talk to me about them.
I saw her run over to a patch of flowers as she sat down close to them. When I saw her sitting down in the field, she reminded me of a flower. Very sweet, innocent and fragile. One wrong step and she would be no more...
The dagger in my right pocket felt heavy. I don't want to do it but I don't think I have a choice. I got roped into this mess and now I have to do this. The fact that I have grown attached to her makes it worse.
Then I remembered something. I took out a single F/C colored rose and walked over to Y/N who was getting up slowly and when she turned around to look at me, I offered the flower to her.
"It's for you. You told me that these are your favorite so I am giving it to you." I said as she looked shocked and took the flower from my hand and looked at the flower as I noticed a small blush form on her face before looking up to me.
"Thank you for the rose but..." She said but stopped herself before speaking again.
"Why'd you get me this?" I heard her say in a soft voice as I looked at her with a feeling of dread washing over me.
"I'm scared about everything right now when you think everything is fine."
"I'm mournful that you'll be dead soon because of me."
"I'm sorry."
These thoughts ran over my head before I mustered up the courage to say what I really wanted to say after taking a deep breath.
"It matches your eyes." I say as a small blush forms on my face looking down and then at her flustered self. Your E/C eyes were something she adored.
"T-Thank you Ran but you didn't really had to get me this." She said still flustered as I a small sad smile formed on my face.
"I wanted to do. I heard you say one time that you wished someone would give you a flower like this so it's the least I could do..." I trailed off.
"The least I could do before you die in my arms."
I saw her smile as she sniffed the rose I gave her. She then came up and gave me a small hug before planting a small kiss on my left cheek and I swear I was a blushing mess right about now because of this.
"We should head back. My brother would be worried as to where I had run off." She said turning around to leave.
I could feel my blood run cold. Part of me wanted to scream and just run away from everything and completely fail my mission while risking my life and hers while the other was screaming to complete my mission.
The thought of her kissing me on the cheek made my heart beat fast. I was in shambles. For a few seconds I thought I couldn't breathe. Without thinking, I quickly grabbed her wrist to stop her from going any further.
"R-Ran! I-is something wrong?" I heard her ask me. I could just kill her right here right now but I can't.
"Do it."
"I don't want to..."
"Do it Ran."
"I can't..."
"Don't you want answers?!"
"I..."
"Don't you want to know who killed your family?!"
"I do but..."
"Then do it!"
"..."
I pulled her close to me as I leaned and kissed her passionately on the lips as my left hand rested on her cheek. I felt her tense up before relaxing and kissing me back. I didn't want this moment to end.
But my right hand slowly moved down to my pocket as it got it's grasp on the handle of my blade as I brought it out and slowly and carefully wrapped my arm around her back still grasping on to the handle.
I could feel tears running down my face. I pulled away from the kiss and Y/N instantly noticed that I was crying. She got instantly worried as put a hand on my cheek wiping away the tears.
"Ran? Why are you crying?" She asked worried and the only thing I could do was choke out a few words.
"I-I'm s-sorry..." I choked out what I wanted to say which made her have a look of confusion as I raised the dagger from behind her back ready to strike.
"Why are you sorry? What's wro-" Her words cut off as I had already plunged the dagger in the back. Straight where the heart was.
I couldn't bare to look at her. I knew she was going to have a look of shock and betrayal but when I looked up at her, I only saw a face of sadness and pity as blood flowed down from her mouth.
I took out the dagger from her back and as I did I saw her lose her footing and was about to fall backwards but I caught her and slowly laid her down on the grass as tears flowed down my face. I couldn't even bare looking at her now.
"R-Ran..." I heard her speak weakly as I slightly looked at her as she slowly lifted her hand as it softly and barely touched my cheek trying to wipe my tears. This broke me even more.
"WHY?! WHY AREN'T YOU MAD AT ME?! I BETRAYED YOU AFTER EVERYTHING WE HAVE BEEN THROUGH!" I screamed at her channeling my anger and sadness into everything and myself.
"Why are you so nice to me after I stabbed you in the back...?" I whispered and the only thing she could do was have a weak smile form on her face as I teared up even more.
"I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry... I didn't mean to... I didn't want this..." I said rambling as I cried even more.
"I-it's okay Ran... I know you never meant to harm me this way..." She said to me as I put my hand on hers. I didn't want to let her go.
"Ran... please tell my brother that I was glad to have... a great brother like him..." She requested. I didn't know how to respond to this but I felt her hands slowly slipping as I knew she was slowly dying.
"Ran...?" I heard her whisper as I looked at her.
"I-I want you to know... that I... love you..." She said in her last breaths as her hand slipped away from my cheek as her eyes had closed.
I didn't know what to do other than sit here while having a feeling of shock and guilt as I looked at the girl who I had fallen in love now asleep forever in this field.
"Y-Y/N...? Please... wake up... Please let this be a bad dream..." I said closing my eyes shut hoping that when I wake up I would see her laughing and smiling but none of it knowing that this was reality and she was gone. Never to laugh or smile ever again.
I saw that she still held onto the rose I had given her. I couldn't bare looking at that either. It only reminded me of how I had betrayed her like this and yet she still loves me. I wiped away my tears and before I could get up, I gave her one last kiss on the forehead and picked up my dagger.
I knew I had to get away from here as soon as possible without anyone noticing. It would be a matter of time before they found her cold dead body on the field. I quickly went over to the stable and I was happy to see the coast was clear and took my horse and galloped away from the empire and towards my destination to the kingdom where the king had assigned to this mess.
The ride back to the kingdom was a very silent one. I did not know what to think anymore. luckily I was able to react the empire safely considering it was night time. I got off my horse as I left it off in the same place I usually do and made may to the palace.
I walked over to the throne room to see the king was waiting for my arrival as he had a menacing smile which I despised seeing since now.
"Ah! Ran! Back so soon? I thought I wouldn't see you after another month." He said as I let out a sigh before speaking.
"I did what you had told me to do. Now, our deal. You told me that you know who killed my family and would tell me who it was." I said looking at the king.
"Ah yes! The deal! I remember very well. But..." He said as he got of his throne and made his way towards me.
A part of me was telling to run and never come back here again while the other was scared to even do anything. I saw the king come towards me still having that sinister smile on his face.
"... You see Ran? All stories do have some twists in the end." He finished as I looked at him shocked and confused.
"What are you...?" I started but was soon interrupted by the king laughing.
"Oh Ran. So sweet yet so naive. You should know better on who to trust." He said as I stood their shocked as realization hit me.
"So it was you?!" I burst out as the king just smirked evilly.
"Isn't it obvious?" He said as I felt dread and anger building up in me.
"I'll be honest with you on another thing. I was also the main reason the former king and queen of the Subbin Empire are dead. I would have killed Porkius when he was crowned the new Emperor but I have seen how brutal and great he is in combat which makes him the strongest. But I had learned that he cares about his sister more than anything that he doesn't want to lose her. She was his greatest weakness and now it will be much easier to defeat him even though I told you about all this before." I heard him explain.
I didn't know how else to react other than get out my dagger and killing him here right now. But I couldn't even move my own hand. I was too much in shock. How had I not seen this coming? Why have I been so stupid!?
"Oh and one more thing." He started while walking back to my harshly grabbing my shoulder and making me lean down to his level.
"I knew about your arrival. Porkius knows that you had killed his sister and he's on his way here." He said as my blood went cold.
"H-how...?" I started as the king chuckled.
"Did you think that I would let you go alone? I stationed some of my men that I had hired to spy on you to see if you would do your job. I must say, they even know the exchange you and the princess had. I must say, it was quite a sad love story." He said mocking me and this made me grit my teeth and ball up my fists. I wanted to beat the crap out of him but I just couldn't move.
"Guards! Seal all the exits to the palace and only let the Emperor of the Subbin Empire enter! Put him in the prison cell!" I heard him say which sent me into a panic and before I could act, I was already kicked to the ground as my dagger had fallen out of pocket.
I tried to reach for it but it was far away from my reach as the guards had binded up my hands as they took me away and threw me into the prison cell. I knew that trying to escape was futile at the point for me as the rope that binded my hands were burning my wrists and the fact that I deserve death after everything I had done. I wouldn't care if I had went to hell cause of it.
After a while, I heard the prison cells open as I was harshly picked up from the ground and was once again brought to the throne room but I saw two new faces which made me scared instantly.
It was King Porkius and Watson. When I looked at the King, all I could read was 'betrayed' and 'disappointment' and from Watson, all I could see was sadness. I was roughly pushed to the ground as I knelt in front of them.
"I am very disappointed in you Ran. I had better expectations from you. After everything I had done for you! You lied to my sister and killed her and you decided to run away like nothing bad had happened!" The king's voice boomed in my ears as I tried to explain myself and to warn him.
"Y-your majesty! Please listen. You can't trust the king of this place. i was forced to kill Y/N because of him. I loved her- agh!" I was instantly interrupted as I was kicked in the stomach and fell to the side.
"Don't you dare speak her name! You aren't worthy to speak her name after what you did to her! She was the only family I had and cared for and now she's gone!" Porkius bellowed.
"Porkius I-" I heard Watson start to speak but was also interrupted.
"Not now Watson!" Porkius shushed him.
I didn't even dare move. I felt too numb to even do anything to save myself. I glanced over at the king to see him stare at me with cold and angry eyes before looking away.
"Finish him off Watson! I don't want to see or hear him at all." He said as Watson reluctantly nodded as I roughly pushed to the ground on my stomach as my hands remained tied behind my back. Then I saw Watson come to my side where I was facing.
"Any last words Ran...?" I heard him speak in a sad tone.
"I have two things to say. Tell Jackie that even if we never got to know each other well, I was glad to meet him." I said as Watson remained quiet but his face looked like he was going to cry but all I could do was smile sadly.
"And the last thing I wanted to say was to his majesty but I know he doesn't want to listen to me but she told me to tell him that she was glad to have a great brother like him. Please tell them all this." I requested him as I saw tears running down his face as he nodded.
"Of course, kid." He said as he unsheathed the sword he was given as he got ready to strike.
"Goodbye Ran." He said lastly.
"Goodbye Watson. I was glad to meet you." I said as his hand shook but he went for it.
"I love you too, Y/N." I said inaudibly as I closed my eyes feeling a sharp pain in the back as I slowly went limp and then everything went black completely.
Third Person Point of View~
When Ran had opened his eyes, he found himself laying on the ground. When he got up and looked beside him, he found that he was laying in a field filled with flowers. He saw that he still had the maroon coat over his Victorian shirt that he had wore but the stab wound was not in the back but it felt like it was there.
Then, he heard humming. It was a sweet yet beautiful voice as smooth as honey. That's when it hit him. He quickly turned around to see a female figure. Y/N. His Y/N standing in the middle of the field. The stab wound at the back was no longer there. The flower designed crown you had worn was still placed perfectly on top of your head. Your dress flowing in the wind.
"Y-Y/N...?" Ran breathed out with a feeling of shock.
You stopped humming after hearing someone saying your name. You turned around and there it was. You and your beautiful smile. The rose he had given you was still in your hands as you held onto it.
When Ran saw it was you, all of his emotions had piled in on top of everything as tears started running down his face as he picked himself up and ran after you and quickly hugged you. He cried even more as you hugged him back slowly to comfort him.
He continued to cry as he held onto you. He thought he would never see you again after everything but now here he was. With you but not in the real world both of you once lived together in.
"I-I'm so sorry Y/N... I'm sorry that I k-killed you..." Ran said apologizing between tears.
"It's okay Ran. I understood that you had to do it. It wasn't your fault. Please don't blame yourself." You told him as you tried reassuring him.
Ran knew whatever you said were true but he couldn't even forgive himself after everything has happened to him so far. The only thing he could do was try to move on which will be very hard to do right now.
You both pulled away form each other's embrace as you used your hands to wipe away his tears. Ran felt slightly happy to be able to feel your warm hands on his. He felt slightly better. After you were done, he hugged you once more as you buried your head in his chest while hugging him.
"I love you, Ran." You said. Those four words were enough to make him feel happy once more and nothing else had mattered to him other than you, who was now with him once again.
"I love you more... my Angel." He said lastly.
Many people would say that this ended beautifully and happily with them being reunited and not separated.
But to me?
I would say that it had ended both beautifully and tragically for the two of them.
But they were reunited now and in each other's embrace.
Nothing else mattered to them now.

Author Notes: I'll be honest and say that this was the most saddest thing I have ever written which led to two main character deaths! :'(
I would have published it yesterday but I was procrastinating so much while doing other work that I left it for today!
In the end, I am glad this came out well!
