Chapter Four
I know I took a long time uploading and I am deeply sorry L . I have had serious writers block. But here is chapter four. I hope ya like it. Let me know what ya think about it.
Ariana's POV
(After School)
Any other 17 year old would have been excited to have the house to themselves while their parents were away. But I wasn't.
It had been three days since my mom went on her international meeting. She was the only person who I could talk to, besides Lexi. But I wouldn't dare tell them about the voice in my head.
And to top it off I hadn't seen Jason or heard the voice in my head.
I was forlorn as I drove home school, my brother went out every night since our mom left. It was a good thing my car was fixed, so I didn't have to borrow Romeo's car anymore.
When I got home, I could faintly hear the phone ringing as I got out of the car. I ran to get it but wasn't able to make it in time, the answering machine picked it up.
"Hey guys it's mom, I guess you haven't made it home yet. I just wanted to let both of you know that I might be here longer than a month. But as soon as I know all the details, I will let you know".
"Oh and Ariana, please take care of your brother, remember what happened last time I left, okay I love you both!" she finished right before the machine cut her off.
A part of me missed her but the other part kind of wanted her gone so I could do what I wanted.
But I was the responsible twin, like my mom mentioned she couldn't trust Romeo while she was gone. I remember last time she had left for about 2 months,
(Ariana Flashback) 1 year ago
When she had come home she automatically knew my brother had thrown a party, the whole house was trashed.
I was in my room still asleep when I heard her screaming my brothers name. While she stomped up the stairs, and stormed passed my room. I got out of bed walked to the door opening it slowly and walked out to the hallway.
My mom and I had the biggest shock in our entire lives, when she pushed Romeo's bedroom door open. There on Romeo's bed was Romeo with two really tanned blondes, one on either side of him with just a sheet over them.
My mother was so furious, she walked to the foot of the bed and grabbed the girls by their feet and pulled them out of the bed.
My brother had woken up from both girls screaming at the top of their lungs, and my mother screaming all kinds of profanities both English and Spanish.
She kicked them out of our house and then dragged my brother to the doctor's office so he could get tested for anything. When he came home, I started laughing at him. He just glared at me.
But he still didn't learn his lesson. But we had both gotten "The Talk." My brother had gotten 3 months supply of condoms, while I had to get on the pill. But I wasn't sexually active, but I still took them.
End of Flashback
I proceeded to the kitchen and grabbed a hot-pocket out of the fridge. After I popped it into the microwave, I grabbed a coke and waited patiently for my food to be ready. As soon as the timer went off, I quickly grabbed the hot-pocket and put it on a plate.
I rummaged through the cabinets for a bag of chips. After getting what I wanted, I headed to the living room and plopped onto the sofa.
I sat there munching away watching some old TV series.
When all of a sudden the doorbell rang,
I had no idea who it could be, I didn't expect anybody, I thought to myself as I walked slowly to the door.
I could hear the rain outside as I opened the door, only to get the surprise of my life.
Right there on my doorstep was Jason soaking wet.
"Ja-Jason, what are you doing here?" I asked him my eyes wide
"I had to see you Ariana" he replied simply.
I continued to stare at him completely dumbfounded,
"I didn't expect anybody, let alone you" I stated scratching my head a little annoyed.
"I'm sorry, but since I don't have your number, how was I going to contact you" he said a little annoyed too.
"Well, can I come in?" he asked me
"Uh- yeah, of course" I said letting him in at last.
I closed the door after he stepped inside and locked it.
"Could I borrow some of Romeo's clothes?" he asked me sheepishly
"Yeah, let me go get something." I replied while I walked passed him.
I raced up the stairs to Romeo's room, and quickly grabbed the first thing I could find. Which was a black shirt and a pair of washed out jeans. After getting what I wanted I raced back downstairs.
Jason was still standing in the exact same spot, but this time he had his eyes locked on me.
I made my way towards him slowly, hands outstretched.
"Umm, here try these on," I told him giving him the clothes.
"Okay, thanks, where is your bathroom at?" he asked me
"Right over there second door on your right" I answered gesturing with my hand where the bathroom was.
I decided to sit back on the couch and continued to eat chips.
I was so engrossed on what was on the TV. I didn't notice Jason walk passed me and sit down beside me.
"Thanks Ariana" he said softly breaking the silence at last.
"Sure no problem" I replied not taking my eyes off the TV.
We sat there in silence for another 10 minutes, it was my turn to break the silence.
"So, are you going to tell me why you're here?" I asked him eyes still glued to the TV.
"I wanted to ask you out again" he said simply
That made me turn my head slowly to look at him.
"I already told you no, Jason" I said sadly
"But why?" he asked me
"I already told you" I answered
"Why do you care what people think" he shouted angrily standing up now.
"Don't you yell at me" I shouted back equally angry, as I stood up also.
"I'm sorry, its just that the kiss we shared was amazing" he replied softly
"Well, I'm sorry too, but don't worry because it will never happen again" I stated
"Can't you just say yes, it can be a friendly date if you want?" he asked me with hope in his eyes
"I already said, no, why can't you understand that" I stated
"Because your answer is ridiculous, who cares what people think" he exclaimed.
"I don't have to explain anything to you!" I screamed.
"Fine, but I'm not giving up" he said.
We just stood there facing one another, the tension was so thick you could cut it with a steak knife.
"Its late and we have school tomorrow" I stated.
"Okay, I'm leaving but heed my words Ariana, I will take you out on a date" he replied confidently
I walked behind him as he made his way to the door slowly.
But before he opened the door to leave, he turned around quickly catching me off guard, causing me to stumble backwards. I felt myself falling, but then I felt a pair of muscular arms around me.
He was hovered over me, his face mere inches from mine. My mouth suddenly felt dry, which caused me to lick my lips slowly. Which I instantly regretted when I saw his eyes locked on my now wet mouth. The desire in his eyes scared the hell out of me.
I stood up quickly and opened the door gesturing him to leave.
He slowly made his way outside stopping to whisper in my ear, with a smile on his face,
"Goodnight my sweet Ariana"
And with that I was left alone again. I slowly made my way upstairs to my bedroom. I took a long hot shower remembering what he had whispered to me. After pondering a while, I realized that his whisper sounded exactly like the mystery man's voice in my head.
But I shook the idea out of my head, there was no way it was Jason.
Or was it.
The next day
Continuing Ariana's POV:
I got out of bed reluctantly the next morning when I heard the alarm clock. I got dressed quickly, black t-shirt, white cut up skinny jeans, and some black stilettos. I straightened my hair and applied light makeup.
I walked downstairs to the kitchen but then thought twice and decided to skip breakfast. I grabbed my keys and walked outside it was really cloudy again.
I drove like a person possessed to school as soon as I parked my car the bell rang. Everybody was heading to the building.
I quickly got out of my car and grabbed my stuff and practically ran to the building. The shoes that I decided to wear weren't exactly ideal running shoes.
I hastily grabbed my book for 1st period and speed-walked to the classroom. The second bell rang as soon as I was safely inside the classroom.
I went and took my seat beside Jason who was staring at me, with a pleading look mixed with the same desire he had in his eyes yesterday. To my surprise I blushed a deep red, and he winked at me as I sat down slowly.
I knew he kept staring at me the entire period. I could feel his eyes on me. Not once did I turn to look at him, my eyes stayed glued to the teacher.
My eyes began burning, because I was staring at the same spot for a really long time. So I decided to look out the window for a little while, then returned my gaze to the teacher again.
Finally the bell rang ending 1st period. Everybody got up and hurriedly walked outside.
As I began walking out the door Lexi grabbed my arm,
"Ariana you look amazing" she complimented me.
"Thanks Lexi you look good too" I said smiling at her.
"Not as good as you" she replied honestly
"Seriously you look good too" I stated.
"If I'm so hot then how come Romeo doesn't notice me?" she questioned me sadly
I looked at her for a second before speaking again,
"Because my brother is an idiot"
"And all he wants is a booty call, and you deserve to be treated better." I finished.
"But I flirt endlessly with him, and he flirts back but he doesn't take me seriously. If I were to act and dress like the girls he's into, he would notice me, Ari." she said hanging her head
"He isn't the only guy here, Lexi, try dating around, maybe you'll find someone else." I told her.
"I don't know, Ari, from the day I laid eyes on Romeo, I instantly fell in love."
I didn't know what to say, I knew she was in love with my idiotic brother, there was no changing that.
I just gave her a hug, and then she walked off to her next class leaving me alone in the now empty hall. I didn't feel like staying here anymore right now.
So I mustered up some courage and walked outside, got in my car, and drove home.
