loud noises echoed through the crowded halls of Raven High, hyunjin kept his eyes merely open when he pushed through the teenage students walking past them. some making out, some ready to take each other's souls, and some gossiping
neither of it phased hyunjin as all he was trying to do right now was make it out of this mess somehow in one piece, he let out a sigh through his nose when he felt the fresh air of the garden behind the school hit his face
it felt nice to be out of that zoo of wild animals who had zero intellect, well at least that's how hyunjin saw all of them. animals who had no brain to live with decency, their brains occupied by survival, mating, and hunting
hyunjin had divided the humans he saw daily into two forms, prey and predator. both being something to describe animals, he never put himself in that category it was just a way he saw the world
and it was safe to say he never liked either of the two.
he sat down on a bench glancing at his wristwatch, he still had some time before his class so he decided to listen to some music. he didn't like studying but he didn't hate it either, just like living. he didn't have any particular thoughts about life
he didn't have any plans for the future either, he was just simply existing. that was it
while hyunjin was sitting on the bench quietly listening to music peacefully he was unaware of the hazel eyes watching him through the window. a girl stood behind the window tucking her blond locks behind her hair 'so handsome' she whispered finding hyunjin unexplainably attractive
"riya, what are you staring at?" another girl with blond hair walked up from behind wrapping her hand around riya's waist "hm? nothing" riya mumbled glancing at her friend who appeared to be taller than her "let's go then. I'll walk you to class" her friend spoke running a hand through her long hair
riya smiled back at her, before shooting one last glance at hyunjin she held her friend's hand and walked away from the glass window

"thank you for the cake cutie" a man in his near 30s spoke to felix passing the tip, despite feeling uncomfortable felix smiled back "you're welcome sir" the man wiped away the frosting from the corner of his lips soon licking it off while felix picked up his dishes
the brunette boy turned around to walk away but he held his wrist with his large hands stopping him in the act "I didn't catch your name" felix sighed silently "lee felix" he spoke smiling. the had a rule at this job, no matter what the customer is saying. you always have to keep smiling and be nice
although it was no problem for felix as he always smiled anyway, but in situations like these he failed to hide the clear uncomfortableness in his eyes "what a pretty name" he spoke making felix nod and begin to turn around again so he can continue his job "are you free on Sundays by the way?"
his question completely threw felix off, "no, he's busy chopping dicks that day. why don't you try Monday hmm?" a girl with dark red hair spoke walking up from behind felix, she gestured him to walk away. the look on her face explained she'd deal with the man
felix showed her a nervous smile before disappearing from the scene "and you are?" he questioned, felix glanced back then shook his head walking into the staff room

felix groaned feeling his fatigue get worse and worse, he blinked away the tears that blurred his vision as he focused on his hands which were constantly working on cleaning the bar table. he had many jobs and all of them were of server or a barista, due to his lack of education it was impossible to get a job that paid enough
so he had to pick up plenty that consisted of the same path sometimes switching it a little in the direction of a grocery store. it was bearable until he saw red drops fall on the counter he gasped quickly throwing his head back knowing where the scarlet liquid was coming from. he covered his nose with the back of his hand as the tears fell down freely from the sides of his eyes
"God," he whispered to the air "what the fuck?!" he felt the owner approach him and he knew he was done for. he gulped looking down to stare at the owner who had angry eyes "I'm...s-sorry" before he could finish the owner shut him up by pushing a finger in front of his face
"Just shut it, shut your stupid mouth. fucking sick bitch shouldn't have pitied you, look at the disgusting mess you created!" he yelled feeling disgusted by the blood on the countertop "I'll clean it-" "just leave, get out of here and never come back" felix felt himself losing it when he heard that
but he didn't say anything quietly taking his hoodie and walking out the store, he sighed 'is this the end? maybe I should stop working so much...it wouldn't matter anyway, it's gonna be over in 2 months or maybe even quicker' he looked up at the deep midnight sky licking his lips
he continued to walk 'I don't need money for my treatment anyway'

hyunjin skated through the quiet lanes of the park finding peace in the dark. he sighed realizing how there was barely anyone in the park which made him feel better, he stopped his board getting off of it as he looked around holding to board in his arms. his legs were beginning to ache by balancing his weight on it for long
his eyes ran through the park but suddenly stopped at one thing "what's that?" he muttered to himself noticing a flashlight coming from the far side of the park. it was odd to see that as he knew nobody was in the park except for him
it was private property and he had sneaked in without the guard noticing. it was a surprise he had managed to go this long without being noticed by the watchman
hyunjin's eyebrows knit together as he continued to stare at the light he saw it moving so he decided he'll take a look. normally he would ignore it and go on about his night but this time something inside of him urged him to take a look at what it was
he walked and walked, getting closer to the moving flash by each step. and once he was close enough his curious expressions changed into a more annoyed one, it was the same guy from before 'was he following me? or is it just a mere coincidence?' hyunjin wondered now standing feet away from the said male
one thing he forgot it could be was fate, the boy looked up at hyunjin flashing his mobile phone's light right at his face which caused hyunjin to cover his eyes with one hand "oh" he muttered staring at hyunjin keeping the bright light on his face "will you get that thing out of my face" hyunjin groaned
"oh yea, sorry" he apologized quickly turning the light away "you'll attract the guard this way" hyunjin uttered irritated by felix as he snatched the phone away from his hand turning off the flashlight "so?" felix questioned softly as he stood up "this is a private property boy, and currently it's closed. which legally announces us as invaders and causing a felony"
felix stared at him with wide eyes, the moonlight being enough brightness for them to see each other "what? I didn't even know, I just came here to read a book" hyunjin clicked his tongue "seriously?" he couldn't understand the boy one bit
"fuck" hyunjin muttered hearing footsteps approaching them "hey you two! what are you doing here" a man taller than both of them was walking towards them with heavy steps lightning his hand light on them felix turned around to look at him
his eyes widening seeing that he had a metal rod in his hand, his facial expressions appearing to be very angry. his feet began to work quickly and it was like something came over hyunjin when he as an instinct grabbed Felix's wrist and they both began to run while the big man ran after them
"Stop right there you little shits!" he yelled at them causing them to run faster than they already were "he's running after us!" felix shouted when he looked back and saw the man running after them "no shit sherlock" hyunjin sassed at him, his grip over Felix's small wrist tightened when the jumped over the fence
well, when hyunjin jumped over the fence. felix stood there in panic when his hand was released from hyunjin's grip, he was already panting so hard. he couldn't jump over that high of the fence "fucking hell" hyunjin muttered glancing back when he noticed felix was left behind
he should run away leaving the brunette boy behind, so he did. turning around and beginning to run again not stopping
"oh no" felix muttered under his breath when the man ran closer to him, he stuck close to the metal fence watching the man come closer as he grabbed tightly to the fence behind him closing his eyes shut. it was until he felt someone jump beside him "get the fuck on now" hyunjin muttered holding Felix's hand and helping him jump over the fence over his back
once felix was safely on the other side, hyunjin jumped after him and they ran away into the empty streets of the unknown town
hyunjin dragged them inside a dark alley as they rested their backs against the brick wall letting out heavy breaths in the form of pants, they slid down the wall now sitting on the ground not caring about how clean or dirty it was
their legs were burning from the intense running, what was odd was that hyunjin still didn't let go of the brunette's wrist, probably too lost. felix glanced at his side watching as hyunjin rested his head on the wall, his mouth agape and soft breaths came out. he licked his lips as Felix's eyes traveled down to his neck where a single drop of sweat was traveling
hyunjin opened his eyes and turned to look at felix catching him staring at him, Felix's cheeks began to heat up as he quickly looked away avoiding hyunjin's gaze. but teh former didn't turn around keeping his eyes fixated on the pretty boy "m-my wrist" felix muttered softly after he had successfully regained his breath
hyunjin glanced at their hands and the size gap didn't go unnoticed by him, 'his wrists are oddly skinny' he wondered noticing how his hands wrapped around them as if they were one of a child. felix rubbed the area which hyunjin hed held seeing how his tight grip left a red mark behind
they stayed seated in the alley like that in silence for some minutes until hyunjin spoke up "why were you reading a book in a park at this hour?"
