"So, the letter said that Avery was moving his treasure to the ship, do you guys think the treasure's still in the island", Elena asked, the three running down the stairs
"I don't know", Ella replied
"I think it doesn't matter anymore", Nate stated, the three reaching an iron gate, as Nate turned the crank and opened the gate, the three carefully maneuvered under the gate
"Looks like Avery built himself a panic cave", Elena stated
"Yeah, I wonder where this goes", Nate asked, a few seconds later, the iron gate slammed shut, "ah, crap",
"No going back now", Ella said
"This place doesn't look very stable", Nate said, the three moving forward, Nate guiding the way with his flashlight, not long after, the footprints were back, following the footprints, Nate's flashlight began to die out, but Nate was able to get it back on, not long after, a rumbling sound was heard
"What the hell was that", Elena asked
"My money's on Nadine's men, they'll use any excuse to use dynamite", Ella stated
"They'd have to be pretty dumb to use it in here", Elena said
"Yeah, they're pretty dumb", Nate said in a matter-of-fact tone, not long after, the three found a room with wooden boards, in the middle of four boards were symbols
"Some kind of deathtrap", Elena asked
"Yeah... minesweeper in real life", Ella stated, looking down at the spikes, some of Nadine's men were impaled, looking under the wooden beards, some explosive barrels could be seen
"Sam and the others somehow made it across", Nate said, looking at the boards, muddy footprints were around, "follow the footprints",
"This wouldn't be so bad if it didn't creak so much", Elena said
"I agree, just focusing on not breaking the boards... or blowing up", Ella muttered in worry, not long after, the three were on the other side, following the footprints once again, the three were over by a collapsed tunnel, forcing the three to find another way, and unfortunately for them, Nate's flashlight died, leaving them in darkness
"Damn it", Nate muttered
"Nate... you still have Sam's lighter", Ella asked
"Yes, good idea", Nate said, pulling out the lighter, as tried to turn it on, nothing came out, it was empty, "of course he used it all up, smoked like a goddamn chimney on the boat ride over",
"Relax, I brought some matches", Elena reassured as she lit a match and lit a torch, later lighting two more, finding a way forward, the three were greeted with an unpleasant sight of skeletal hands, hanging from the ceiling
"The hands that stole from me", Nate read out loud, after lighting up the room, "wow, Avery's not even pretending to be sane at this point",
"I don't like this place", Elena said
"Me either", Ella said
"Me three, let's get out of here", Nate said as the three moved forward, out of the room and down the pathway, not long after, the three found a pathway with mummies, as Nate walked onto the pathway, the mummies lit up
"NATE, GET OUT OF THERE", Ella shouted as Nate quickly rolled away as the mummies exploded
"You two ok", Nate asked
"Yeah, I think so", Elena said
"Are you ok", Ella asked as Nate nodded his head
"What was that", Elena asked
"Trap, Avery really didn't want trespassers down here, watch your step", Nate stated as the three continued forward, only to run into more exploding mummies
"Well, now we know what caused the explosion we heard earlier", Elena said
"Yeah, no wonder so many parts of this passage have caved in", Nate stated as the three entered another room, skeletal ribcages hung from the ceiling this time, lighting the room, another sign was there.
"The hearts that hardened on me", Ella read out loud, as the three left the chamber, and getting past more exploding mummies, they were back on Shoreline's trail, following the footprints and bodies caused by the exploding mummies, the ended up being ambushed by Shoreline, only for the ambush to be ambushed by exploding mummies
"Well, for once, I appreciate Avery's exploding mummies", Nate said
"Come on", Ella said, the three dropping down, and grabbing flares, however, they were in another chamber, skeletal jaws hung from the ceiling
"The mouths that spoke ill of me", Elena read out loud
"I'd hate to see this guy's Christmas tree", Nate stated
"I don't like this", Ella muttered as the three ventured forward once again, on a different route, encountering skeletal bodies of both Avery and Tew's men
"Hello", Nate greeted, picking up a key
"Some kind of key", Elena said
"But to what is the question", Ella asked
"What's that note", Elena asked as Nate picked up the note
"it's from Tew to his men... we can use the key to get out of here", Nate said, flipping the paper over, "there's symbols on the back",
"I've seen those... on the death minesweeper trap", Ella stated, "by the looks of it, it's a clue to help us forward",
pocketing the note, the three continued forward, encountering another minesweeper death trap, the not helping them forward, and not long after, the three were officially on the other side, not long after, the three were outside, only to find hanging skeletal bodies
"Are those the rest of Tew's men", Elena asked
"It's gotta be, you know how Avery likes to make an example out of his enemies", Nate stated
"He like's making exploding mummies", Ella added, looking at the mummies in the room
"Yean, let's... tread carefully in here", Nate said as the two reached a locked door, "Keyhole... key",
"Wait... it could be a trap", Elena said
"Yeah, but we really don't have much of a choice", Nate stated, "But... I have a good feeling about this one",
"Be careful", Ella said as Nate unlocked the door
"You see", Nate said, only for he and Ella to be trapped in a net
"Nate, Ella, you two ok", Elena called out
"Fine... we're fine", Ella called out
"Well, at least we didn't get blown to bits", Nate said, only for the exploding mummies to begin exploding,
"You jinxed it", Ella said
"Elena, get out of here", Nate said
"But...", Elena began
"We'll be fine, just go", Ella said as Elena ran through the door, looking around, the two noticed a sword, swinging the net back and forth until Nate grabbed the sword, cutting themselves down, the two began sprinting past the exploding mummies until both were blasted out.
"Thanks, Captain Avery", Nate muttered, "Just like old times, huh, Ella... El", Ella wasn't moving, her eyes were closed, "Ella, come on, please just tell me you hit your head on something, come on", Ella groaned, her eyes slowly opening
"My... hero", Ella said letting out a laugh
"Oh no, you didn't do that", Nate said as Ella began laughing hard, "that's not funny",
"You've done much worse", Ella retorted
"God, you gave me a goddamn heart attack", Nate stated, laying down on the ground
"Let me listen", Ella asked, putting an ear near Nate's heart, "still beating... sound's good to me",
"You realize... we are now even for everything I've ever pulled, alright", Nate said as Ella looked at him, "yeah, like ever",
"Not by a longshot, may I remind you of the list, mister", Ella stated
"How long is it now", Nate asked
"Now a quarter of the way gone", Ella said, the two looked at each other before laughing
"Guys", Elena called out, running up to them, "You two ok",
"Never better", both Nate and Ella said in unison, not long after, gunfire could be heard
"That's gotta be Sam, come on", Nate said as the three ran out of the cave and into a ship graveyard.
