I can home to a silent house. Dropping my bag on my bedroom floor I went to my computer. I held my breath while I signed on to Facebook, praying I could avoid the awkward conversation. Of course he happened to be on. Before I can sign off he started talking to me.
Ryder: I saw you today.
Me: I know.
Ryder: Do you always drop your books?
Me: Yeah. I’m a huge klutz.
Ryder: So Jason says you have something to tell me. What might that something be?
I stared at the computer. Trying to figure out how to say it. I took a deep breath and hit enter.
Me: Um you are really good looking.
Ryder: Your joking right?
Me: No. Why would I be joking?
Ryder: Because I’m not good looking.
Me: Have you looked in the mirror?
Ryder: Yes.
Me: You’re good looking.
Ryder: No.
Me: Yes, and that’s final!
Ryder: Fine. You’re good looking too, but you must already know that.
Me: You think I’m good looking?
Ryder: Yes.
Me: Bruises and all?
Ryder: Bruises and all.
Me: You really think so?
Ryder: Yuppers.
Me: Is that even a word?
Ryder: It’s my word.
I glanced at the time and realized I had homework to do. I really didn’t want to stop talking to him, but I forced myself to say bye.
Me: I have to go do homework bye.
Ryder: Bye.
Doing my homework was more difficult than it should have been. My thoughts kept drifting to him. In an attempt to get him off my mind I took a shower and got ready for bed.
