I'm back at the safe house and I'm waiting in the living for Elias and the rest of the men to show up while Leo is tied up in the basement. It's been a few hours and now I'm getting worried. The man I was with is standing on the other side of the room also waiting for everyone to show up. I never caught his name because we haven't spoken a word to each other. Whatever. I'm sitting on the couch, bobbing my leg up and down because it's been too long. What if something happened. Was I not stealthy enough? Did Leo have men there as well? God I feel sick.
Wait I actually feel sick.
The bathroom is too far so I run to the kitchen sink to throw up. After hurling everything, I wipe my mouth and look up to see the man looking at me. I throw him a glare and run upstairs to wash my mouth and brush my teeth. Finishing up my business upstairs, I hear the front door slam open and chatter fills the air. I run back downstairs and I see everyone. But Elias.
"Where is he?!" I yell at the men. They all stop their chatter and look at me, but no one says anything. So I ask again. "Where. Is. He." I say through gritted teeth.
"He's outside." One man says. "But you need to stay in here—" I ignore him as I run out of the house to the van. I stop short when I see him with a familiar woman. A familiar woman that I want to kill.
Antonia.
I start walking up to them and I can hear Elias cursing at her as she just laughs. "So you know nothing huh?" He says to Antonia and she just shrugs like she isn't about to die right now. I stop next to Elias and he finally notices me. He stops what he's doing and let's me take my turn.
Being the petty bitch I am, I pull Elias' face to mine and kiss him harder while keeping eye contact with Antonia and shoot her a wink, to which she loses it and tries to attack me. I break the kiss just to laugh because she's restrained and can't move. "You look good tied up." I say cheekily. She just smirks and says, "It brings back memories." She coos and looks to Elias. "Doesn't it baby?" I slap her so hard I bust her bottom lip. I yank her hair back so that she's facing me. "So. You were at the party tonight? Bad timing." I blow a kiss to her and take the knife from Elias' pocket and slash her collarbone. She cries out in pain and Elias pulls me away.
"As mush as I would like to watch you kill her, I need her alive. If she dies then a war will happen." Elias says as he slowly removes his arms from my waist. I turn to look at him confused. "But we killed Luis. Wouldn't that cause a war?" He just smiles and runs his thumb over my bottom lip. "Fortunately for us and the Romano's, they have a second son, so he will be the new heir. Now as for Antonia, she is destined to marry into a family to build an alliance, and since she's the only daughter, if we kill her then a war will definitely happen." I nod in understanding and turn to glare at Antonia. "So what are we going to do with her?" I ask not looking away from the crying bitch in front of me.
"I'll take care of it." Is all he says. I back away and start walking back into the house. "Hurry up before I start on Leo without you." I say without looking at him.
I see Stefano when I make it inside and I start walking up to him. "Take me to Leo." I tell him. I'm not patient enough. I need to see him now. He looks back outside to Elias and then back to me. He doesn't say anything and I grow impatient. "If you don't, then I'll have someone else." I threaten and he groans and starts leading me down the basement.
Once we hit the door to the basement, Stefano stops me from opening it. I look at him with both anger and confusion. "You're not stable right now Mia. Let's wait until Elias gets back. Trust me." That just makes me even more angry. I shake his hand off my wrist and open the door and slam it behind me, locking it. It's pitch black and I can't find the light switch, but I don't need light to know where he is in the room, because he calls out to me.
"My angel has come for me." He says in a whisper. I chuckle and start walking up to him. I find a light above him and pull the switch to ignite the darkness. I stare down at him as he looks up at me. "More like the devil." I snarl.
I move back to the torture table, as I like to call it, and pick up my favorite weapon, a sharp knife. I slowly but deadly walk back to him. He's watching my every move as I am his. He tied up, but he's smart and will find a way to escape. "Come to kill me angel?" He tsks. "You wouldn't." I tilt my dead to the side. "No?" I bring the knife down on his shoulder. He hisses but doesn't scream. "Are you sure about that?" I whisper in his ear. I take the knife out harshly and give his other shoulder the same treatment.
"You've caused me pain for years, Leo. This is your last day on earth." I tell him as I wipe away the blood from the knife.
He laughs and shakes his head. "Oh my sweet sweet angel. Then how will you find your mother." I halt my movement and turn to glare at him. "You know nothing of my mother!" I snap out. He laughs yet again. "Oh, but I do. In fact, you've meet her."
What?
"What are you talking about?" I walk up to him and drop the knife and punch him. He faces me again and licks his bottom lip of blood. "Remember Lily don't you?" I freeze. No. "I've had her with me for quite some time. I don't even think your own father knows that she has been with me all this time. She was originally with my father but then once I came of age, she became my second. She's been quite the sidekick. She's the one who told me that you were pregnant. If it wasn't for her then your...that thing that was inside you would still be alive. Pity." He grimaces.
I punch him again. "You're lying!" I yell and punch him again and again. I hear banging on the door and Elias' voice calling my name but I shut it all out. I grab him by the throat and face him to me. "Tell me the truth." I spit out. He smiles, showing all his bloody teeth. "I am, angel. She knew who you were and didn't care." He laughs. "Hell, it was her idea for me to have you when you were sixteen." I let go of him and take a few steps back. I slip and fall on the ground as tears fall down my face.
No, he's lying.
"Where is she?" I whisper, too afraid to raise my voice.
"Well I'm not sure, angel. But if you want to find her then you need me." He says with a cheeky bloody grin.
I wipe my tears away and rise to my feet. "I don't need you. I will find her on my own." I go to pick up the knife I dropped, but Leo gets out of his restraints and grabs it before I could. I scream when he prances at me. We both fall to the floor with him on top of me. I scream when he tries to bring the knife to my throat, but I hold his wrist up. I can hear Elias' voice getting louder and louder and the banging of the door grows harsher and harsher.
"I love you my little angel, but I will kill you if I have to." He says and brings the knife closer to my neck.
"No!" I scream out. I knee him in between the legs and he drops the knife and falls on top of me with a groan. I take the knife and start stabbing him on the side of his body. Not stopping until he is unmoving. I'm crying now. The tears won't stop falling down my face.
I hear the door explode behind me and I scream, "Get him off me!" Three men grab Leo from on top of me and Elias pulls me up into him. I'm covered in blood and my eyes are filled with tears. Elias holds my face and examines my body. "Did he hurt you." I'm not looking at him. I'm not looking at anyone. I'm simply looking into the darkness of the corner of the room. That corner reminds me of myself. Pure darkness. That's my life. I've never had anything light in my life, and when I did get it, it died. Only the ones who have hurt me lived. Expect for Leo. He's finally dead. And then I look up to Elias, he's now my light. He fills my darkness. He brings me peace. He brings me love.
"Mia! Did he hurt you?!" He says again shaking me. "N-no. He didn't hurt me. I k-killed me. He's gone." I say in between breaths.
I can't believe he's finally gone.
Elias pulls me into his arms and kisses the top of my head. "I heard you screaming. I thought he hurt you." He says breathlessly. I look up to him and see a single tear fall down his cheek. I wipe his away with my bloody thumb, but he doesn't seem to care. "Elias there's something you should know—"
"Well well well. Look at this mess." We all turn around to see a middle aged woman standing in the doorway of the basement with several men behind her. I know this woman. Lily.
My mother.
"You've gone and killed Leo." She looks from Leo's dead body to me. "Good. I hated him. It was annoying pretending to be his second." She said. I scoff. "You told him to have me at sixteen you bitch!" I march towards her, but her men point their guns at me and I stop. Then, Elias and his men pull their guns out and aim it at them.
Lily puts her hand up and her men drop their guns but my men keep their guns pointing at them. "I did no such thing daughter. You can't believe everything that comes out of the man's mouth." I'm fuming now. "He raped me! Several times and you were with him this entire time. Both he and my father—your ex husband— had taken turns beating me and you let it happen! I am not your daughter." Tears are falling down my face again and I feel Elias walk up behind me. Lily looks from him to me and smirks. "Well. I'm sorry that happened to you. Truly." She brings her hand to her heart. Fucking bitch. "But, now that he is dead, I have no business being here anymore." She turns to walk away but stops to face me again. "It was a pleasure meeting you Mia. I hope we can meet again soon." She smiles at me before walking out with her men.
"Fuck you!" I scream out and drop to the floor crying. All the men behind me are just staring at me while Elias holds my breaking figure.
Once I've calmed down, we all head upstairs to see that Lily is no where in sight. Elias takes me to the kitchen and grabs me a glass of water. I feel sick again. I rush to the kitchen sink and throw up once again. Once I lift my head up, I see Elias giving me a puzzling look. "Mia." He puts the glass down and walks up to me. "Are you—"
"No way!" I cut him off. "I'm not. I'm just stressed, I'm okay." I smile at him and stand up straight, but immediately fall down on the floor and pass out.
Well fuck.
