~Tejus~
After walking out the door I decided to go back quickly.
"What are yo-" I grab her and dip her down into another kiss, making her giggle into my mouth. Fuck she drives me crazy. I don't want to leave her right now but I need to get this out of the way. She breaks the kiss, wincing and putting her hand to her head.
"Princess?"
"I'm fine. I just have a headache or something. Go." I don't think she realises she's doing it still but sometimes she says things out loud and sometimes it's in my head.
"You can always reach me now, no matter how far. So if there's anything, anything at all. You call me OK? I'll be beside you as fast as I can."
"OK. Miss you already" She smiles. And I think man I'm a lucky bastard to call her mine.
"Love you" another quick kiss and I really leave this time hearing
"I love you" I get out the front door and dissipate to Decan's territory. I walk through the double doors and he's nowhere to be found. So I shout
"DECAN!" A few minutes later he comes out of a door to the right
"No need to yell. But I told you to stop turning up without warning me first. What do you want? Have you completed your task? Are you ready to transfer the bond?" He asks casually.
"No. And I'm here to tell you to stay away from my family, especially her. I can and will stand against you to protect them. Just stop this now. And I won't tell the others of your plans."
"And why would I do that? I told you from the start, she's mine. I've been after her for 30 odd years now. And an Insect like you will not stand in my way! Why do you all of a sudden care about keeping her safe?"
"Just fucking stay away Decan. She's not yours. She's-"
"Don't tell me you've actually fallen In love with her!" He mocks me
"Just stay away from her Decan. I mean it"
"Oh for fuck sake. You have, haven't you?! I paid you, Prince, to trick her into thinking you were her mate and with your gifts it should have been easy. I need her away from them all and you to transfer your fake bond to me. THAT'S WHAT I PAID YOU FOR!" He roars
"I don't care and I won't let you trick her. I won't let you anywhere near her. Stop this now. It's over. She's mine and I won't let you touch her."
"Did you manage to mate with her" he asks in a low and sinister tone
"Thats none of your busin-"
"I wonder how she will feel when she finds out that you tricked her. That the bond is false. You betrayed her trust when it wasn't so easily given. "
"You wou-"
"Oh but I would. I had plans for her since I knew of her conception. She is the power I've been craving. She will make me invincible. I won't let you, her mates or anyone else, stand in my way. I had enough of that with Alpha Thomas. I'll kill you all if I have to. Starting with YOU!"
I have to keep it together. I can't let him know she's my true mate, he could use that against me or her. I have to protect her from him. I need to get more information.
"Who is Alpha Thomas? And what's he got to do with anything?"
"Well I paid him to find her In the first place. He was supposed to bring her to me on her 31st birthday. But he took liberty's with what was mine and decided he wanted to keep her. I let it slide with him to begin with. But you. You're not leaving here if you think you will stop me. I can now see you were the wrong choice. You are just the strongest of your kind and had the skills I needed, but never mind. I already have my plan B in the works. She will be mine" He says with a sinister smile
"Over my dead body" I shout in anger. So this whole time it's been about making her feel a bond with him so he could try and mate with her. He just needed me to help it along with my mind control abilities. I need to know what plan B is so I can stop it.
"Well. Yes. That is what I just said isn't it? But I'll give you one more chance to do what I asked" He says, sounding bored.
"What's plan B?"
"That's for me to know and you to figure out. What will it be? Hand her bond over or die?"
"Neither" I yell, as I run and throw a dagger at his heart but he catches it. And my ankle is pulled. I hit the floor and look to see vines growing out of the ground trying to wrap around me. I take out my other dagger and slice it off, freeing myself. He's laughing hysterically as I run-out the door. I have to keep her safe at all costs.
"That's right, run. It's no matter. I will inform her of your treachery and she won't trust or believe a word you say every again! And she will break your bonding, for you are not one of her true mates. And that will work in my favour just as well as killing you, so go!" That stops me in my tracks.
"You're wrong!" I say. I can make her listen, understand why I did what I did. It was to protect my family!. She will be hurt about it yes but I will spend the rest of my life earning back her trust.
"None of my kind will be able to help you trick her either. They aren't strong enough so if that's your plan B. It won't work either" I say with complete conviction
"We will see. But I don't need one of your kind. I can do that myself. You've shown it can be done and I'm almost as strong in that department as you are! I'll be seeing you and her real soon. Good luck." He laughs. How can he do it? He's just a lowly Alpha wolf
"What do you mean you can do it?"
"Oh, I'm much more like my soon to be mate than anyone realises. oh and remember, I WILL be killing you soon. If you fail to fulfil the task I set for you."
"How are you like her?" I need to get back to her and explain before he fucks things up for me.
"Why would I reveal all my secrets to you? I've already told you more than I should. Just know that it's why I want her." he says in my head. My eyes widened. How can he do that? That's a sentry gift.
"I won't let you escape again so go before I change my mind"
I get out the door and dissipate back to the house. Fuck. I see no one is about and I'm starting to panic a little. I need to find her and tell her. I hope she doesn't hate me, or try to reject me. I'm in way over my head here. I need to talk to Caleb. He will know what to do.
"Caleb?"
"What's up?" He laughs
"What's so funny? And I need to speak to you"
"Zander is trying to use witch magic. It's hilarious. He's getting angry that he's not getting it right. And when teleporting he keeps landing upside down. Haha. Can talking wait? Kylie has been helping us practice and she thinks she can do what you can. She's been getting really bad headaches with what she's saying is like a constant white noise or hundreds of bees buzzing in her head. So she needs your help with that as it's getting worse" He sounds amused but obviously at what he sees
"It's urgent, Caleb. I did something out of fear and wanting to keep my family safe and I don't know if she will forgive me, but I need to warn you as well so we can keep her safe" He appears right in front of me with an angry expression on his face
"What the fuck did you do that she would need to forgive you, Tejus. And why do I have a feeling it's not just her that's not going to like it? Why are you only telling me now?" He snaps at me
"I was going to wait until I'd dealt with Decan and I didn't know how to tell her! I thought he was just a wolf but he could do what I do, Caleb. He said he's coming for her and that he will kill all of us to get to her. He doesn't know she's my true mate-"
"Is she? Or was it a trick from the beginning?"
"You know she is! She was getting the jitters and-"
"For all I know, you made her that way too. And before you say about us being OK with it, how do I know you haven't been in our heads and planted that too!?"
"For fuck sake Caleb, would I be telling you if that was the case? I need your help, Caleb. He offered me money first which I turned down, I didn't want to do that to anyone and I only agreed when he threatened to kill my mother and sister. And that if I agreed he would still give me the money and leave my family and kind alone. I was doing it to protect them!"
"Fuck! You need to tell me everything you know and now! Who is this Decan and where is he?"
"I only have the coordinates, I don't know any more than that. And that he goes by Alpha Decan. He wants to mate with her so he can gain her powers or something. He did hire some Alpha called Thomas or something to get her, but he kept her for himself. Until she found you I guess. I don't really know anymore about that. And like I said he could speak In my mind. Luckily I have a permanent block up so he couldn't read my thoughts. But he wasn't happy I had mated with her. And told me he has a plan B in the works in case I failed. I don't know anything else!"
"You need to show me where this place is so we can plan an attack. And pray that she forgives you. You have no idea what you've done. Hopefully we can deal with this before she finds o-"
"Caleb! Somethings wrong with Kylie. She was holding her head and then she screamed and well we can't fucking see her as there's like a tornado going around her. And none of us can get to her" I look at Tejus who looks just as worried as I am. We both travel there using our gifts and can feel the force of the wind and we're being hit with small pieces of debris flying around. Then there's a crash of thunder and lightning.
"Kylie. Are you OK? What's wrong?" Caleb asks her. She doesn't answer but I can hear as sobs start coming through the link. And then torrential rain starts coming down. I'm soaked through in seconds.
"Princess. You need to calm down and stop this. You could hurt someone or get hurt yourself. What's wrong?"
"I trusted you! And you've been lying to me this whole time. You should have told me from the beginning. Just leave. I don't want to fucking see you. Go and find some other female to lie and trick" She screams and sobs. How does she-
"Know? I tried telling you this morning. When you lied to me about where you were going. I have so many voices in my head, it hurts. And I knew the moment you got back. I could feel you and your turmoil like it was my own. And then I heard Your and Caleb's conversation and thoughts. I know what you did. And I don't forgive you. Now leave before you get hurt." How did she hear all that from that distance and my thoughts as well as our verbal conversation.
"Princess, please. He threatened my family. What was I supoose-" I fall to the ground in agony and am dragged by an unseen force right through the tornado. I put my arms up to protect my face as I'm hit from all directions as debris cuts and tears into my skin. Then I can see her, her hair flying around in the wind, her eyes flashing multiple colours so fast it's hard to tell what colours I'm seeing. Her face with tears pouring down the angriest scowl that I've ever seen. Her eyes lock in on me as she screams in my head
"YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO TELL ME AS SOON AS YOU THOUGHT I WAS YOUR TRUE MATE! INSTEAD YOU LIED TO ME" another sob escapes her and I grit my teeth as I feel like I'm being crushed, so much so that I almost can't breathe. And I can't move or dissipate. I'm completely at her mercy right now.
"Princess. I. Can't. Breath." She screams so loud it almost bursts my eardrums and I feel like my heart has literally been torn apart and my emotions are all over the place. I want to cry and scream and break things. I want to hurt myself. I need some relief. What the fuck. I grab at my chest to try and stop the pain and try to rid myself of the emotions ragging through me that are not my own. Then all of a sudden I can breathe a little better. Looking at me in defeat and a voice full of anguish and despair she whispers
"Do you feel It? Do you feel betrayal? Anger?.... pain? It won't stop. You will feel everything until I don't feel those things any more. I suggest staying away from me." I do feel it. I feel it all and I hate it. She has every right to feel that way. I should have told her at the beginning. I was scared to though, I didn't want to lose her before I even had a chance to have her. But I've lost her anyway. I will make it upto her, if it's the last thing I do. But she has to forgive me, I'm her mate and I love her. She falls to her knees and her eyes start rolling in the back of her head. I try to move and catch her but I'm still pinned to the ground.
All the chaos stops dead. Dropping to the floor to reveal the others who dive forward and catch her. Caleb looks at the state I'm in and looks at her sadly as he says
"She knows, doesn't she? The strongest, bravest, fiercest person I know. She was unbreakable. And I think you just broke her. You made your bed. Now deal with the consequences" Zander stands with her in his arms and they all walk away, throwing me.dirty looks. I drop my head back and feel as the crushing pressure lessens to bearable. Must be because she's unconscious. And if she's not feeling it much because of that, neither am I. What the fuck am I going to do?
