(This is a short one/just a little flashback. The music just adds to it.)
Y/n's pov
One summer, when me and the guys were all in fifth grade, my parents decided to take us all on a week long camping trip together.
-flashback-
"The teepee structure is the best way to make a fire." Lucas said, setting up his little sticks.
"Uh, no, it's the log cabin that works the best!" Dustin fired back.
The pair kept arguing and knocking over each other's setup.
"Just pick one, you guys! I need to roast my hotdog!" Mike yelled.
"Where did you get that? We're not even having hotdogs for dinner-" I started.
"Michael!" My dad called, cutting me off. "Can you come hold this tarp for me while I tie it up?"
Mike set down his hotdog stick and walked up to my dad.
My dad handed him a string and he held onto it with some struggle.
"Don't let go." My dad warned.
About ten seconds later, the whole thing came crashing down because some random kids had been 'biking too fast' according to Mike, who was now busy standing by the road and yelling at them.
My dad sighed and went back to trying to get the tarp to stay.
Will had found some cool looking sticks and was happily collecting them off the ground, minding his own business while Lucas and Dustin were busy playing tug-of-war with a chunk of wood, claiming it was the 'perfect piece.'
Dusting tugged so hard that Lucas let go, sending Dustin tumbling backwards into Will, knocking him and his armful of sticks to the ground.
Will looked at his scattered sticks in sadness.
"I'm sorry." Dustin said, pulling Will to his feet as I helped pick up his twigs.
"Yeah, me too. Truce?" Lucas asked, sticking out his hand.
Dustin took it with a smile, just as Mike came running over with dirt on his face and a shoe in hand.
"Hey, guys! Look what I got!" He exclaimed, holding up the foreign sneaker.
"What is it?" Will asked.
"A shoe! Some kid threw it at my face!" Mike said, all too happily.
"I'm not so sure that's a good thing..." I said, trailing off as my mom came out from our trailer, holding a big bowl of Caesar salad and a plate of hamburgers.
"Kids! Dinner time!" She said with a bright smile as she set the paper plates down on the checkered tablecloth.
"Yes!" Dustin cheered as we all rushed over to the picnic table, Will's pile of sticks forgotten.
My mom looked over to my frustrated dad and sighed. "Honey, just leave it. We don't need a tarp." She said with a small smile.
"Yeah, dad. It's not like it's gonna rain." I said with a mouth full of Caesar salad.
He sighed and walked over to us as 'Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da' by the Beatles played on the radio next to our table.
That night, me and the guys all laughed and told scary stories in the small tent that we shared, bundled up in our sleeping bags, enjoying the night.
