Y/ns pov

We were back up from the cellar and we were utterly worried now.

Dart escaped and Dustin and I were now paired up with Steve Harrington, asshole of Hawkins high and former awesome babysitter of me.

Yeah, he used to be awesome when he babysat me. I hope he still is.

All of a sudden, we were pulled from our thoughts by the sound of a car pulling up.

Good thing Steve hadn't parked directly in the driveway.

"Shit, Y/n. My moms back." Dustin said to me.

"Uh, okay, kids, you listen here." Steve said firmly.

He then went on to very quickly explain the plan for tomorrow and we all shared a nod of agreement before Mrs. Henderson yelled through her house.

"Dusty!!" She called.

Without another word, Steve slipped around the side of his house and back to his car as Dustin and I pretended to look around.

"Y/n?!" Mrs Henderson called.

"Dustin!" She said.

"Out here, mom!" Dustin yelled.

"Oh!- what're you two doing out here?! You're gonna catch a cold!" Mrs. Henderson said, rubbing her arms as she shivered.

"We're looking for Mews." I said.

I felt so bad lying to her, making her think her beloved cat could still be out there when really it's dead in the ground underneath Dustin.

"Well, it's a bit late for that, don't you think? Come inside, I got you kids some movies from radio shack!" She said, holding up a small brown paper bag full of VHS's.

"Thanks Mrs. Henderson!" I said as she handed me the bag.

"Anything for you, dear." She said, kissing the top of my head.

She was a very affectionate woman.

"Come on, dust." I said, motioning for him to follow me.

"Awe, that's such a cute nickname! You two are even more adorable when you're with each other." Mrs. Henderson gushed with a boisterous giggle.

We both turned crimson red as we walked inside.

"I can not believe we just got ourselves into this." I said as I flopped onto Dustin's bed.

"I know. It'll be okay." He said As he flopped down beside me, the both of us staring up at the ceiling.

"So you and Max are friends now, huh?" Dustin asked.

"Yeah, she's really cool." I said with a smile.

"That's good. I'm glad." Dustin said, and I could almost hear the smile on his face.

We laid in silence for awhile, and it was nice, comforting silence.

We hadn't turned the lights on, there was just a small lamp on so I started to get tired, and before I knew it we had both fallen asleep, soft snores escaping Dustin every once in a while and Mrs. Henderson taking about a hundred photos.
