It was two days before the battle and most of the vampires that had been staying with them had gone far away to hunt. The only ones in the Cullen residence were the Cullen's and the Denali's, seeing as they had hunted the night before.

Isadora looked like she was on the brink of death. She didn't have enough strength to walk for to long, so to save her energy, Emmett carried her everywhere. She was staring at the painting she did a few months ago, when everything felt perfect. When Edward was there.

Isadora didn't have favourite siblings, but Edward and Isadora shared a bond stronger than hers and Carlisle's. Edward was the real one to save her. After that night when they got her out of there, Edward talked her out of every Suicidal thought that crossed her mind. He was the one to suggest little space to her, helping her to cope with the trauma in which he had seen through her memories.

Isadora heard voices around her, a familiar one, but she didn't even look up to see who it was. That was when Edward sat in front of her. She remained still, but when he went to speak, she went to stand up, she struggled and stumbled, but regained balance and she slowly walked to her room.

"This is the worst she has been." Edward sighed

"No wonder. You just up and left. She hasn't eaten, spoken and has barely treaded into her little space, she has been up until god knows what hour of the night screaming at her memories, all because you didn't tell us where you were going, but I bet you went to see Isabella swan. Didn't you?" Emmett seethed at Edward, who looked utterly destroyed

"I did see Isabella, to try and nip this in the bud-"

"How did that work? Oh right. It didn't." Rosalie spat at Edward, who averted his gaze.

"Not only did you make this worse, but you have asked the Volturi to come to our home, where we have the Romanians staying here and a human who lives here. They are not going to let that slide." She snarled

"I know, but we need all the help we could get."

"And getting the Volturi here would help how?" Jasper asked

"Caius has experience with wolves and his mates will not allow him to be alone."

"When are they coming?" Carlisle asked

"Tomorrow morning" he informed

"Well, we'll be hunting, so you, Alice and Isadora will be here to greet them." Esme stated Edward nodded.

"I'm going to check on Dora. I'm sure she wants to talk to someone." Carlisle said and went to her room.

Isadora was sketching when Carlisle found her. That was the first time she had done this since Edward had left.

"Sweetheart, can I sit?" Carlisle asked. She nodded

"How are you feeling?" he asked.

"Scared" she answered honestly

"Why are you scared, love?"

"I don't want to die, dad. Not yet." Isadora sobbed

"You aren't going to die, I promise. I will not let anyone hurt you."

"Don't make promises you can't keep. You can't guarantee that the wolves wont hurt me, or the Volturi I know they will most likely kill me." she cried, her voice was raspy as she hadn't spoken in a while.

"Aro won't kill you. Besides, he owes me a favour." he responded. Isadora's heart leapt as the name left his lips

"And this isn't him doing you a favour? asked the teary eyed girl

"No because I didn't ask him to come here. Edward did. Speaking of Edward, do you intend to talk to him?"

"I just can't. He hurt me. A lot. He knows every thought I have, knows every memory and he still left. Just like my mother"  Isadora sighed.

"Just talk to him. I'm sure he wants to explain himself."

"I'll do it tomorrow" she concluded. Carlisle nodded in satisfaction.

"Come on, lets get some food in you're system." he said, extending his hand. Isadora shook her head no, but Carlisle wasn't having it today.

He picked her up over his shoulder and ran to the kitchen.

"You look and smell like death. I'll make you some chicken noodle soup." he said as he began to cook.

Isadora heard her siblings arguing in Carlisle's study, it escalated more as she heard a shatter.

"I'll go deal with them." Isadora said and moved to go, but was stopped by Edward who had appeared and had his hand on her shoulder.

"Eat." he hissed, Isadora's face turned pure white. Edward had never spoken to her like that. like her father had when she was a toddler

Rosalie groaned, knowing that Isadora would just refuse now.

"Let me put it this way. If you refuse to eat while I am present, I will force feed it to you. You know I will."  he snarled.

Isadora only had ten spoonful's before moving away, but was stopped by Edward's tight grip.

"The whole thing." he hissed, his grip hardening. Isadora yelped in pain as his grip got to tight, he let go only to find a bruise.

"Dora, I'm sorry, but you need to eat the whole thing."

"Edward, she hasn't eaten in a month, she cant eat the whole thing, she will be sick." Alice stated to her brother, who looked guilty. Isadora darted for her room once Edward had released her arm.

That wasn't Edward. Isadora's Edward would never ever talk to her or hurt her like that.

The next morning, Isadora woke up and threw on a pair of leggings and a jumper, her new favourite outfit before going downstairs.

Edward looked guilty as he seen his sister's puffy eyes and the black bruise on her shoulder that he caused.

"Come on you two, they are nearly here. Dora, don't look so nervous." Alice said to the girl, who was playing with her fingers

Just as the trio made it downstairs, there were a group of eight vampires standing outside. Three men stood out to Isadora, she could tell they were the leaders as they held themselves with so much confidence. Confidence that made Isadora want to curl up in a ball and hide away forever.

"Hello Aro, Marcus, Caius." Alice greeted.

"My dear, dear Alice. How wonderful it is to see you. You as well Edward." Aro said to the two vampires standing side by side. That voice was so familiar to Isadora. She had heard it before and it gave her some sort of comfort.

"Forgive me for making such a bold assumption, but is that a human we can hear and smell?" the man asked, snapping her out of her thoughts, Isadora remembered that these vampires hated humans and wouldn't hesitate to drain her dry.

"Our sister. We rescued her from her abusive father and his brother when she was six. She has been with us ever since." Edward explained with guilt as he remembered the frightened look on her face all those years ago. It matched the one she wore now when she looked at him

"How dare you house a human without consulting the Volturi!" Caius yelled out, red with anger, not knowing where this mood swing had come from.

"Amore, calm yourself." Marcus, the tallest one said and took his mates hand as Alice's eyes glazed over.

"No." is all Edward could hiss out to Alice, who rolled her eyes.

"Isadora, come and say hello to our guests." Alice encouraged the short girl, who had a blotches of paint on her leggings

Isadora emerged from behind Alice and Edward to greet the Volturi. Marcus walked over to her, leaving Aro and Caius confused and growling, but they stopped once they seen him take her hand and kiss it.

"Il nostro pezzo mancante.(Our missing piece.)"  Marcus smiled

"la nostra anima gemella? (Our soulmate?)" Aro asked, to which Marcus nodded

"Come puoi essere sicuro? (How can you be sure?)" Caius asked

"Guardale negli occhi e puoi sentirlo. Inoltre, il legame non mente mai. (Look them in the eye and you can feel it. Moreover, the bond never lies.)" Marcus replied as he held his mates bony hand.

"Hello la mia bellezza. I am Marcus Volturi. Those two are Aro and Caius Volturi, our mates."
