| CHAPTER 11 : FIX ME |

After asking a billion maids where the stables are, I finally found Drew, brushing a horse's mane. I marched toward him and literally threw the book at his face. He caught it effortlessly mid-air before it could touch his face without even looking up from the horse.

"This did not explain anything and only wasted three hours of my precious sleep." I glared, "It only kept talking about Sahandred and Lucretia!"

He smiled without looking up at me, "I hope you had a safe journey from King Alpha's room since you're standing here with both of your legs intact. I suppose King Alpha wasn't awake when you read the book."

I glared, "Oh he saw me, alright. I had fallen asleep on his desk. He pushed me off the chair to wake me up!"

He finally looked at me. Deep blue eyes which appeared darker in the sun met mine. He furrowed his eyebrows.

"Did he see the book?"

"Yeah. No. I don't know. And I know books are knowledge and all but that book gave me no knowledge."

"Did you read it well?" He asked raising an eyebrow.

I crossed my arms against my chest, "Either you think I'm a malfunctioning witch or you think I'm a Royal. It's gotta be one of them."

His lips tugged up into a smile, "You're smart. Oui. That's exactly what I think. About the Royal part."

"But you called me human twice yesterday."

"That was before I saw your magic."

"I'm not a werewolf," I stated.

He shrugged going back to brushing his horse, "Malfunctioning witch it is then."

"Just tell me what you think," I demanded with a tired sigh.

"I think..." He leaned a hand against his horse, his attention completely on me now, "I think you're a Royal who doesn't know she's a werewolf yet."

"I know I'm not some Royal dog, thank you very much."

He gave a one-shoulder shrug, "You might be. We have points that add up. Magic, blue eyes, a brother who is a werewolf. The brother one is a solid point." He gave a firm nod, "King Alpha said you even reacted to his Alpha command which only affects supernatural creatures."

"Okay, say I am a werewolf, why haven't I shifted to some kind of a dog yet? Why didn't I know about you people until a few days ago? And why am I still seventeen when you all are centuries years old."

A furrow came over his eyebrows, "King Alpha said you're eighteen."

"Close. I'm two months away from being—King Alpha talks to you?" I frowned in confusion, "I thought he hates you."

He grinned. "He talks a lot more than he knows. Being alone made him forget how much he needs others' ears. One second he looked ready to rip my head off, the next he started chatting about his pity life."

"What do you mean?"

He shook his head, "Nothing. Let's just figure out what to do with you, okay? That mark still looks nasty which means King Alpha is still debating."

"Debating?" I asked in more confusion as my hand went up to my bandaged neck.

Drew's eyebrows shot up, "He hasn't told you?"

"No...what was he supposed to tell me?"

"I think you have no more than eight days. Max."

My frown deepened, "What?"

He opened his mouth to say something, then closed it, pursing his lips.

༺═──────═༻

I paced back and forth in King Alpha's room. Sometimes pulling at my hair or punching the wall. All I wanted to do was to scream out loud. First, he kidnaps me, then my brother gets kidnapped, and now he marks me to seal my death!

And worst of all, he didn't even tell me! Like yeah, sure, let's mark Ezlynn, she doesn't care about her life, she'll be merrily happy when she suddenly ends up dead in the middle of nowhere.

I refuse to end up dead in the hands of King Alpha. I won't let him be the cause of my death.

The clock displayed as 7 in the night meaning he would be back in his room anytime now.

I prepared a whole fussy speech in my mind that will blow him away - with my rage - once he enters this room.

This explains why he didn't care as to where I went and when I came. Because I was going to die in a few days. So he let me roam around his mansion like a happy puppy until my death came like a sudden boulder.

The door burst open.

My body jumped in its place. My eyes met his face and they widened. No matter how mad and angry I was, I was definitely not prepared for the scene in front of me.

King Alpha's fangs bared at me as his lips pulled back. Dry blood caked the corners of his mouth to his chin with his white shirt shredded open from the front as if someone had clawed it out and - oh boy, those abs could be considered for rocks or even mountains. His appearance made the room shrink into itself two times as he sauntered in and shut the door behind him.

I've never seen someone look so dangerous yet so beautiful and hot at the same time.

He irritably flung his keys on the table before frowning at them. Sighing, he positioned his keys properly in their place before finally looking up at me.

"Why are you looking like you've seen Hercules?" He asked angrily.

My mouth had been parted open with my eyes glued to him.

I quickly blinked and looked away.

What had I been thinking before?

Oh right, I was about to blow him away with my rage.

I faced him and opened my mouth but clamped it down shut when his eyes dangerously narrowed at something in the distance. That was enough to stun me to silence. Oh boy. He looks seriously angry.

He busied himself with organizing his already organized desk, completely ignoring me.

He stacked up pens in his hard calloused hands. The pens seemed to be screaming under his tight grip. I didn't dare open my mouth, looking at his silent killer expressions.

He isn't a normal person. He's a killer. A heartless killer who wouldn't bat an eyelash before snapping anyone's neck. A bead of sweat cascaded down his forehead. King Alpha went to wipe it and hissed when one of the pens stabbed his already bleeding cut on his forehead.

"Fuck." He held his forehead with his palm, looking more irritated.

He wasn't healing.

"W-what happened?" I asked, my voice visibly shaky and breathy.

His eyes briefly met my face, making me want to curl into myself from his intense gaze, before he looked back at his desk, putting the pens back in their place and snapping the one which stabbed him into two halves.

"You're not healing," I said voicing out my curiosity and folding my shaky arms in front of me.

"Well, that's what happens when you get stabbed with silver, blondie." He said in an irritated tone which made me somewhat flinch, "Boo-ya to them, I stabbed them back with their own silver and then chewed them good knowing that Mister Butcher pants was looking through his blue globe thing."

"What?"

He sighed in frustration, proceeding to unstack then stack his papers, "This crazy warlock has something against me and tried to attack me today with his minions having silver laced weapons. Foolish of him to think I'd scream at the sight of silver. They tried stabbing me, I played a game, stabbed them back and ta-da, here I am with this stupid bitch on my forehead." He brought his hand up to his chin and another flicker of irritation flicked through his face when his finger touched the dried blood, "And look at what they did to my shirt. This had come from Italy handmade, especially for me. Why am I even wearing this—" He slid his shirt from his body making my eyes almost pop out of my sockets looking at his magnificent, rock-hard body.

My breath got stuck in my throat and my eyes strained to keep themselves somewhere appropriate. Hard muscles bulged from everywhere. Not like Drew though. Drew was short and bulky. King Alpha had a towering height with a lean and muscular physique.

I forced my eyes to stray themselves, but it was impossible for some reason. My new high senses observed every little detail, every little aspect and every little element.

"Can I help?" I blurted, part trying to distract myself, part trying to busy myself.

"Sure, bring me a dead person. That might cheer me up."

I gave him a flat look, "I didn't mean about your mood. I meant about that blood."

He turned his icy narrowed gaze at me, "It won't heal."

I shrugged, "Your supernatural abilities won't always help. Sometimes, acting like a human works too."

"The only thing acting human brings me is plain boredom."

"Have you ever heard of a first aid kit or do you always rely on your abilities?"

He frowned, "I never needed a first aid kit."

"I hope your brain does," I muttered under my breath then widening my eyes when I realized he heard me, 'cause his eyes narrowed into slits, "I think I saw it in your bathroom - the first aid kit that is. I'll go get it." I rambled and made a quick escape to his bathroom, fleeing his intense gaze.

Once inside, I let myself take in a deep breath and blinked my eyes twice. I placed the heel of my palm on my forehead, feeling every beat of my heart pulse loudly.

Whatever happened to blow him away with my rage?

The heaviness of the situation in that room still weighed me down. With my body still stiff, I timidly walked towards the shelf where I think I saw the first aid kit somewhere in the corner.

When I came out of the bathroom with the first aid kit in my hand, King Alpha seated at his desk chair, his fingers drumming on the table with a serious look etched on his face, staring into nothing. Still shirtless.

A small shiver ran down my spine and I forced myself to not visibly tremble.

"I found the kit," I said approaching him and standing across him with the table in between us. I placed the box on the table and gave it a light shove until it was near him. My eyes followed up, and I almost went pale at how his gaze settled on me. He looked intimating without even doing anything.

I gulped and looked away, anywhere but his face and his icy cold stare.

A silence stretched out between us. My toes curled with me playing with my fingers as King Alpha's gaze still settled on me.

"Aren't you gonna do something?" He asked finally.

I looked at him, "What?"

"You wanted to help." He raised an eyebrow.

"Oh, you mean - you want me - yeah?"

He rolled his eyes, "I'm not very good with this." He waved a hand at the first aid box in front of him, "I've never done bandages and whatever more the hell is in there."

I frowned in confusion, "Never in your seven hundred years of existence?"

He shrugged, "I had doctors."

"Had?"

He shook his head, "Just do it. The cut is starting to sting."

Taking in a deep breath, I opened the first aid kit and took out bandages and what appeared to be rubbing alcohol, noticing how my hands trembled in the slightest bit. I first took a wet wipe and hesitatingly leaned forward, reaching out to wipe the blood from his forehead.

My heart thudded erratically in my chest when I still felt his gaze weighing on my face. It took all my willpower to not lock eyes with this dangerous beast. I focused on his forehead and wiped the blood, trying to gently clean it without accidentally thumbing the wipe on his open cut.

I struggled to keep myself upright, with my torso leaning and stretching over his desk, with a hand placed down flat on the desk to give me some support.

I remember how Collin used to clean my cuts when we were little. He would always first engage me with stories or things about what happened at his work and then clean the cut with me distracted so I don't start crying. I would sometimes pretend that I was distracted so I don't make it difficult on him while inside, I wanted to kick him in the face whenever he accidentally dabbed the wipe or cotton too hard.

Remembering him suddenly made me feel sad.

I've never been detached from him for this long. Never ever. A few months ago, I was one hundred percent sure that I would have strapped myself to his body because of my school problems and school pressure. He comforts. He always does.

A sigh came out of my lips without me even knowing.

I had zoned off for a while as my hand lingered in the air, no longer wiping his blood clean.

Clearing my throat, I began once again. Not yet ready to meet his eyes. The temperature in the room seemed to rise and I wanted to immediately leave everything in this room along with the tension and land myself in Antarctica.

When I was done cleaning his forehead, my hand trailed down where two streaks of blood dried on either corner of his mouth to his chin.

My eyes focused on his lips for a moment. Pink and beautiful. I quickly snapped out of my stare and cleaned his chin. My hands trembled further when his lips parted.

I finally gave in and looked up at his gaze.

All signs of breathing vanished with my heart pulsing loudly in my ears. His eyes pierced through mine. I didn't know if he was doing this on purpose or was unknowingly teasing me. Knowing him, he was definitely doing this on purpose.

"Are you done eye raping me?" He asked in the most casual way possible.

My cheeks flamed and I glared, looking away, swiping at his chin. His head danced over his neck from right to left as I harshly cleaned his face.

"Geez, calm down!" He leaned his head away from my hand.

I stood properly, pulling my hand back and discarded the dirty wipe on his table.

A wave of resentment flowed through me and I was no longer frightened right now. I was only angry. My expressions hardened as I thought about how much he has taken away from me and how because of that bad things started to happen.

His rivalry with the witches has absolutely nothing to do with me. Mate or not, he shouldn't have kidnapped me like this and then treat me the way he wants.

"I sense something boiling. Is it your head?" He remarked blankly.

I fixed my glare on him, crossing my arms.

A moment passed.

"I can't mind reading." He stated.

"You need to have one first."

"She speaks." A mock smile came to his lips.

"Why didn't you tell me that marking me means I'm gonna die?" I demanded.

"I forgot."

I took in a sharp breath at his sarcasm.

"You don't just seal someone's death like that and not tell them. Were you waiting for the moment till my head drops off my shoulder?"

"As entertaining as that sound, Nah, you'll just decease slowly."

"Fix me."

"Can't do."

"I know you can. Fix me."

"Or else?"

"You'll just prove how much of a coward you are."

A snort, "Sure."

"You'll be lonely all over again, having drunken chats with Drew who probably spills those to his rumba dancers. The scoreboard on your murder board will probably get your ass in hell too."

He narrowed his eyes, "Watch your mouth, stupid human. I'm still the King here."

"King Alpha," I said in a mock voice, "Where did you even get that cheap name? Don't tell me it was your parents. Or else someone has to give them some serious parenting classes."

His eyes darkened, "Stop talking."

"Oh right," I said, "your parents who were taken by the witches. What makes you so different from the witches then? You both kidnap innocent people and kill them. Just because things don't go your ways you don't just kill-"

He bolted up. Chair slammed into the wall behind him. Eyes, dark and deadly. "I said...stop talking."

My body immediately shrunk under his dangerous looming height. His eyes clouded with darkness, his hands clenching, looking ready to kill.

"Fix. Me," I said stubbornly, trying my best to hide the fear crawling through every surface of my skin. I hope he doesn't sense or hear the way my heart is slamming itself against my chest again and again.

His nostrils flared and he seemed to attract every shadow in this room. His muscles tensed, he stalked around the desk and towards me. Every ounce of my body screamed for me to run away. But I stood firm, hoping no fear traced my face.

I dared to stare back at his menacing glare, which weighed me down like a boulder.

I expected him to lash out, or even punch me. He looked like he was ready to tear into my flesh and finish me once and for all. But instead, a slow predatory grin curled on his lips.

Oh he was still angry alright, but also malicious now, "Listen you stupid, stupid, human," he spoke in a smug tone making my skin rise with goosebumps, "you really, really, don't know how lucky you are. Not many people get to see another daylight or even their fucking fingers before this face," he pointed a finger at his face with his fangs now out and pointed, snarling at me. I slightly flinched still trying to keep up with my strong demeanour.

His fangs retreated back into the same malicious grin, "consider yourself some kind of a princess. The witches made you my mate, meaning I own you. You're my possession and I can do whatever I want with you. It's not your fault if you want me to say to calm your fucking trembles. I kind of did want to keep you around for a while but if you hadn't opened your big fucking mouth then maybe you'd have been somewhat spared. Whatever. Anyways, you, Ezlynn Richardson, are in my possession now and I can do whatever I want with you without you even knowing. I can rip off your clothes without you even blinking, I can fuck you before you even take in a breath and I can kill you before the next second hits. So don't," His eyes grew darker, "test," his smug grin grew wider, "me."

"Who would anyone want to see their fingers before they die?"

He blinked. And again.

Then frowned, "I'm gonna pretend you didn't get that part out of my entire 'I'm dangerous' speech. Seriously? Do my threats ever affect you?"

It did. Oh boy, It did so much, I think I might pee.

"Was it an 'I'm dangerous' speech?" I furrowed my eyebrows despite my brain screaming at me to shut the hell up, "'because it sounded more of an 'I'm so freaking lonely, give me a pity hug' speech. Why don't you just admit that you'rr lonely and need a fucking friend or a family? At least keep a pet, an actual one instead of a human. It might help. Do you ever think for a second, even for a second, that may be the witches don't have to do anything with me being your mate? What if the gods are giving you a second chance at doing something right? Yeah, I know about your gods. Drew made me read a 500 pages fucking book. For once, maybe let yourself care about someone and think about how much of a sadistic you are."

He scoffed, "You want me to care for you?"

"No, thank you. What I'm saying is just stop being a sadist!"

"I think I told you to watch your fucking mouth."

"I forgot," I said in the same sarcastic tone he used earlier.

"You know what? I can't deal with you anymore," He grabbed my shoulders, making me gasp, and looked into my eyes. A golden glow glowed in his eyes, entrancing me, and before I could even comprehend, my mind faded into darkness.
