She would rain all day couldn't wait for her sun to shine
And you made it shine

Yeonhee didn't know if was too harsh, if her words hurt Mark but what she said wasn't wrong. He was an idol and he can't risk being caught...just one of the restrictions in potentially having a relationship with an idol.

She had stopped crying now, the pain behind her eyes blooming and spreading across the expanses of her head. Seated at the swing with her head against the cold rail, feeling numb but everything at once.

Blank eyes staring ahead at the view of the grey clouds interwoven through the everlasting canvas of the velvet black sky.

Was it even worth telling her all of that?

A sigh left her lips, rubbing at her eyes as she stood up with her legs trembling slightly and her lethargic steps were slow while walking back to her apartment.

The fluorescent lights around her only agonised her head more, thumping surging through her in strikes of pain.
It was colder now, the first few droplets of cold rain drizzling down but Yeonhee didn't have the heart to rush home.

Her tear stained cheeks were becoming wet with the rain droplets cascading down her skin, her hair becoming darker in tone.
The rain fell faster as it synced up with her pained heart, a heaviness she couldn't overthrow or a hurt she couldn't ease.

"How was the birthday party?" She heard a warm, comforting voice ask interestedly, lifting her eyes to see a Mother fondly running her fingers through her daughters hair as she held an umbrella over them.

Yeonhee's eyes lingered on them from afar as they talked amongst each other, arms linked with a bond that could only explain a maternal love.

Her jacket was only thin, doing little to nothing against the rain without a hood to over her head but her focus couldn't stay on that. Instead she wondered if she was being dramatic, second guessing everything again.

A sniffle escaped her, the tip of her nose and her cheeks flushed red from the cold as she reached the stairs of her apartment complex- trudging steps to the elevator.

Silence consumed the atmosphere around her, a sullen depressive mood settling over the heartbroken girl.
As she was pressing in the code to her apartment, Yeonhee pushed the door open to walk through it then letting it close behind her.

As soon as she emerged through the doors, the anxious figure on her sofa shot up and was in front of her within a split second. Half catching Yeonhee off guard but her eyes were still lined red with a flush of the cold creating a hue of red which dusted across her face.
Rain droplets clung to her skin, trailing down her hair.

"You could get sick in the rain you know? It's cold out too, you should have taken an umbrella with you at least or picked up my calls I was like worried something happened-" Mark's slight ramble was halted as soon as her eyes met his, the furrow between his brows easing when he looked down at her glassy eyes that peered up at him.

It was nice
She admitted to herself, feeling the raging pain settle at an eased pace
To come home and have someone worry about you...to have someone wait for you

Mark wasn't sure of what exactly to say to make her feel better, a mental block of the things he practiced while having Milo curled up next to him on the sofa.

"Hyunjae told me the passcode." He informed as she began to peel off the wet jacket from her skin, thankfully her clothes weren't too soaked. "You know, you should uh take a warm shower or bath or something before you get sick." Yeonhee hadn't said anything, just giving a nod as she slipped her shoes off.

She noticed Milo was curled up in his bed, fast asleep in ease and then she began walking towards the stairs.
"I won't be long." She briefed, her steps ascending up the flight as Mark watched with a conflict of what he was supposed to say.

It was that long after when Yeonhee emerged from the bathroom- walking over to her own room in a simple black tshirt and light grey sweatpants with a towel lightly drying her hair.

Her eyes flickered to Mark who sat on the edge of her bed, looking at the ground in deep thought.
"Why are you here anyways?" She asked, not having asked him why he was coming here in the first place.

Mark's head lifting, meeting her eyes as his hand reached into his back pocket with a slight scrunch of his nose- pulling out the object.
"You dropped your wallet and a staff member picked it up- I came to give it back."

Eyes dropping to the sleek object he was holding.
"Oh, thanks Mark." She said, walking over to grasp it from his hand to place on her desk as she faced her mirror- his eyes trailing over to follow her.

"Why...um why were you crying earlier?" He asked tentatively, picking at the loose thread of his tshirt.
Yeonhee halted her drying action, sighing when she let her towel hang on her hand which was down by her side.

Wordlessly, Yeonhee sat besides Mark on the edge of her bed which gained his attention to look over at her. Her hair was still a bit damp, towel discarded on her lap as she stared in front of her.

"I called my mum," she began, thinking over the details. "I just got everything off my chest and I guess I felt emotional." She shrugged, running her fingers through her hair.

"Oh...do you feel better?" He asked hopeful which elicited a thoughtful hum.
"I feel better I got it out but I don't know, I didn't really give her chance to speak but I think I was kinda scared of her response."

Mark hummed softly, trying to think of the right words to say.
"What did you tell her?"
Maybe a bit too invasive

Yeonhee was trying to dry her hair, arms getting tired as she huffed.
"I hate having long hair sometimes." She grumbled, Mark's eyes flickered back and forth between the towel to her hair with a slight hint of hesitancy.
"Here, um let me do it." He said, hand on the towel and she raised her brow.
"Really?"

"Yeah," he nodded as she smiled thankfully due to her tiresome arms.
She angled her body so the back of her head was facing him and soon she felt the towel softly drying her hair.

"Thanks. I just told her some of the things I wish I could do with her and how I felt. Sometimes I wish I could do simple things with her like going to the shops together or helping her cook or clean. Even just having a laugh when watching Tv you know?" She began to speak, eyes closed as the therapeutic feeling of his gentleness conveyed through helping her dry her hair.

"...I'm sorry Yeon." He began, the thought of her experiences were unimaginable. An anger sparked from the mistreatment towards her, unable to understand why her parents would neglect a girl like Yeonhee. "You didn't deserve that."

"It's okay." She replied, feeling the towel leave her hair to which she reached over to grab her brush and run it through her hair.
"But," he began in protest, shaking his head. "You're not okay with it...shit man I'm so bad at comforting people." He muttered, rubbing the back of his neck in a slight glimmer of guilt.

Yeonhee turned around to face him, her amused eyes flickering between his ones that held a slight dejection.
"Hm, yeah you are."
Mark's eyes turned up towards her, his eyes narrowing at her.

She laughed, lightly pushing him with her hand.
"I'm joking Markie, you're not bad at it. I'm smiling now aren't I?" Yeonhee flashed him a dramatic toothy grin that he could resist from laughing at- gazing down at her with his usual sparkling eyes.

"But seriously, are you okay?" He began, searching her eyes for any indication of her emotions.
That's when it switched, something had shifted in the air as soon as his usual susceptible brown doe eyes met her guarded ones that were painted over with gleams of feigned happiness

For the first time under his soft gaze, a skin crawling vulnerability prickled over her as she felt completely barren and the feeling pierced through her steady falling chest.

It was as if the perennial layers of stone she had spent her lonesome years building up around her had started to scathe. A sharp coldness chilling to her bones, the sudden sink of her heart down to her gut that began to twist on accord of the suffocating emotions capturing ahold of her.

A heat pushed itself against her eyes, causing her façade to crack and her eyes cast away to the ground.
"I don't know." Admittedly she whispered into the silence of the room, her words hanging in the air as if it became to key to the locket around her caged heart.

"I thought if I'd tell her how I feel that...somehow everything would magically reverse itself and it would be fine. That we could start being what a Mother and Daughter should be- supposed to be like." She began, her voice feeling strained at her dry throat. Scaling up it, clawing with reminiscent tingles causing her to swallow down the emotions beginning to stir. "Sounds pathetic now I think about it."

"It's not." Mark began, his voice a murmur. "It's not pathetic." He repeated in a more affirmative tone. "You just want her to reciprocate what you want from your relationship...there's nothing pathetic in that."

"It's pathetic that nothing changed. Ever since I was younger, I'd make excuses up for her. My Dad was barely around as it was and I could live with that but her...I don't know why I took it harder than expected. I had everything- money, clothes and my brother who looked after me. If anything, he should be the one feeling like this because he had no one to rely on when he was left alone with me."

"But you don't care about the...the materialistic things." He started, finding the right things to say as his eyes trailed over her side profile while she stared down at the ground. He couldn't help but feel a little helpless, feeling like a bad friend to her in this situation.

"You know Yeon, you out of all people deserve to have that...to be cared for by the people who are meant to care for you. But uh, I don't know if it's any help but you should know there are people who do like come on you're Y2TRAPPY- who wouldn't. You know like, you're a funny girl who is sometimes nice I mean you do threaten to hurt me at least a hundr-"

Mark was cut off by Yeonhee pushing him by his arm with a roll of her eyes.
"Shut up. Here I thought I was getting a heartfelt compliment." She grumbled, huffing and he couldn't help but smile, his lips curving up at the sight of her sulking.

"But really, you're really like...pretty, I mean anyone can see that but even though you're always there to cheer people up, you also good at comforting too. Honestly, I was like skeptical of you at first but you're really just a fun and a kind hearted person to be around. Man, I think we laugh a bit too much when we're together too. Maybe you're like some kind of all rounder hey?"
"Mmm, am I an ace now?" She inquired with a grin forming on her lips and he nodded.
"Yo of course man, the ace."

Yeonhee looked up at him, her eyes flickering between the two of his own which cast down on her under the slightly dim lights with a soft smile gleaming on her lips with a gentle sincerity in her eyes swirling with adoration.
"Thank you," she said quietly, unable to still believe how lucky she was to have someone like him in her life.

Her once steady heart had completely flipped as the familiar butterflies swarmed inside her, tightening her gut with nerves while their eyes met, pulse thumping unstably at her ribcage.
It was like her breath had hitched at her throat, a giddiness inside her surfacing everytime she was with him.

Everything just felt right. With him all her worries disappeared even with how cliche that sounded- it was true.

Mark nervously shifted, the words on the tip of his tongue but the moment was rising in the tension that he kept backing away from the opportunity.

Because under the soft lights which created a seraphic glow on her skin to the way her eyes held a warm emotion in them, Mark couldn't help but have the single question pushing against his lips threaten to spill.

"Um," he began, eyes unable to stay focused on her own ones as his ever so often would trail down. "Uh, I...can you I mean. I wanted to like...wait. Can I like...um,"

Yeonhee was silently watching him with amusement fleeting through her at his nervous attempt to spit out his words. She had a ghost of an entertained smile as he continued to fumble around with nonsense spilling from his lips.

That was until a small, soft yet present hand took place on the junction just below his ear on his heated neck that caused his mind to halt but there wasn't enough time to process it.

The sudden sweet scent of conditioner infiltrated his senses, a blur of the moment before passed in a split second because now Yeonhee was inches away.

Sure it was no secret they both liked each other, the complete opposite actually but they hadn't yet pushed upon that confession until that very second.

Her fingers lightly placed on the nape of his neck while her thumb was pressing slightly on the back of his ear.
It felt like a daze, a slow motion of events which contrasted his erratic heart.

Gently slotting in between his slightly parted lips was Yeonhee's bottom one- pressing hers against his with a soft yet evident motion.
Her skin erupted with goosebumps like wildfire, a heat on her skin when his hand rested instinctively on her waist.

Though the sudden moment was short lived, there were still tingles on her lips when she pulled away to see Mark's stunned face.
He was definitely experiencing a mental block but affected greatly by the kiss shown through the blush dusted on his cheeks and tips of his ears.

Through his momentary malfunction, his eyes darted down to her lips which had been against his a few seconds ago.

"Wait," he breathed out, unsure if he was overstepping but there was an erratic palpitation against his chest that he couldn't ignore. "Can I...can I kiss you again?"

Yeonhee felt like a giddy school girl, her stomach twisting and cheeks ablaze with heat- a slightly dizziness from the overwhelming feeling of a simple- yet long awaited- kiss.

"Only on one condition," she began, causing a slight confusion to flash past him.
"What is it?" He asked, though his nerves were still skyrocketing from the affect this girl had on him.

"Only if YM2TRAPPY can be official."

If Yeonhee could replay his reaction again and again, she definitely would. His eyes widened, lips parting in shock.
"...yo I was going to ask you first." He murmured, slightly dejected by his lost chance of being the one to ask her out.
She let out a little laugh at his reaction before calming herself down. "Like, I had this whole plan of asking you like the whole thing of setting up a-"

"Just shut up and kiss me before I change my mind."

And of course he didn't need to be told twice because his hand had already taken it's gentle place on the side of her face- thumb on her cheekbone as he leaned towards her lips joining once more.

It felt unreal, the moment they were sharing as her hand rested on his shoulder and his cupping her cheek, lips rejoining in the action conveying the feelings they shared.

Even though it didn't last a long time, it was sweet and ethereal when they pulled away with both of their faces flushed and hearts pounding erratically.

When their eyes met, a single second passed before laughter filled the air- the tone ringing past them both after the intimate moment.

"Also I'm joking, I wouldn't have changed my mind." She said to which he chuckled.
"Well I'd hope not. I guess YM2TRAPPY is really a duo now."

The sound of tiny feet pattering into the room caught their attention as Milo jumped onto the bed- running in circles.
This made the two of them laugh before Yeonhee gasped at Milo biting down on her teddy bear capturing it between his teeth.

"No Milo, leave Eddie the teddy alone." She whined, taking it from his mouth and Mark laughed at her reaction- leaning back to lay on her bed as Milo walked onto his stomach.

"Leave Eddie the teddy alone." He copied in a dramatised British accent.
Yeonhee scoffed at him, turning her head to see Milo walking up on his chest to lick Mark's face.

She laid down following suit, Eddie the teddy resting in her hand while she watched Mark grimace at the feeling of Milo lovingly licking him.

"I think he's jealous of YM2TRAPPY, you trying to steal Mark from me?" She questioned Milo who barked in response. "Yeah, you can have him."

"Wow~" he laughed out, shaking his head in disbelief. "Shortest relationship of my life."
"You've never been in one before, it's your only relationship." She countered.
"Oh yeah."

Yeonhee burst out laughing at his sudden realisation, unable to stop the growing smile on her face. Mark ran his fingers through Milo's fur while playing along to his antics and Yeonhee turned her head away to look up at the ceiling with a content sigh.

Who would have known this was the outcome of an idol accepting a fan's message?
