I know that there's an art to starting over again.
"So this is it then?" He asks me. He's sitting on the bench and staring out into the clear blue water of the pool. His hair falls over his eyes and I ache for him.

His eyes are red; a combination of the chlorine and his tears.
I want to comfort him, I want to take him into my arms and kiss away the tears. It's my first instinct, to protect him from any pain. But I can't, not this time.
"This is it." I say softly.
