Kim's POV..
"I'll have a tequila shot,please!" I say to the barman..
"That's your second shot,Kim" Esther says in a motherly tone
"I know mom" I reply rolling my eyes
We decided to go to a bar,one of Daniel's friends bars.. It's awesome..
I,Esther,Daniel,Stephanie and Jake are here.. We've decided to spend some time with each other these few days,but our other friends are occupied,so... We decided to come without them..
"Two shots shouldn't do any harm" Stephanie shrugs
"Yah right" Esther replies sarcastically
"Is Alex coming?" Stephanie asks Esther
"Nope,he can't make it!" She replies
The barman hands me my glass and we walk back to our table where Jake and Daniel are seated..
"We're back!" Stephanie says
"We can see" Jay replies stating the obvious
"Fun sponge"
I take the bottle of Vodka from the table and I drink a lot,it burns my throat but I ignore.. I just want a free night...no Ivy,no Sonya,no PTSD remembrance.... And,no memories of me being abused..I know my past is rough,but I'm better than I was.. At least,I'm grateful for my friends,they've really helped me..
Without thinking,I take another gulp of Vodka and I cringe at the burn in my throat..
"Kim!" Jake says seriously,grabbing the bottle from my hand
"What?" I ask irritated
"You haven't touched your tequila,and here you are,devouring a bottle of vodka,are you okay?" He asks
"Yes I am,now give it back" I whine
"You can always talk to me" he says seriously
"I know"
"did I do something?" He asks in a guilty tone
"No,you didn't" I reply..
"I think you should drink water" he says opening a bottle
"Why?" I ask
"So you won't get drunk,Kim.. You only over drink when you're depressed" he says..
"How are you able to love a girl with a broken,shattered and blurred past?" I ask.. The words slipping from my mouth before I could stop..
I'm glad the others didn't hear,Daniel is telling them the history of his football career,which we've heard for the millionth time..
Jay looks surprised at my question..
He clears his throat..
"That's because when you love someone,you're able to overlook their bad habits,flaws and even dark pasts," he takes my hand in his "you're not broken,Kim.. You just need a little more encouragement,you're frightened because you remember stuff that have happened to you,but you're getting better...when I knew you years back.. You had anger and trust issues,you were frightened by every little thing,but I must say that you have improved,and I'm so proud of who you were,who you are,and who you're growing into"
Jay's words sink into my head,and I must say I am shocked,I know he deserves better,he probably deserves to be with some rich brat with a British accent and who's heels make click noises from a distance,but I know I'm with him for a reason,and I'm happy about that...
"Thank you" I manage to say
He leans in to kiss my forehead,and pulls away..
"But seriously,Kim... You don't need this much alcohol in your system" he says seriously
"Fine,I'll only have a little more" I say childishly
"Fine"
"Now that that's over," Esther starts,clearly frustrated from hearing Daniel's story "what do y'all wanna do?"
I shrug..
"Dance?" Stephanie asks holding Daniel's hand
"Nah" Jay replies,bored..
"Fun sponge"
"Oh,sue me"
"Anyway," Esther starts "let's chit chat"
"What are we? Five?" Daniel asks annoyed
"We're not five,but.. You know,let's just talk to catch up" she replies with a smirk.. I know Esther will ask personal questions,nosy😂
"Fine,I'll ask um.... Kim a question" she says
"You said chit chat,not question and answer" I reply rolling my eyes
"Well,too bad... I changed my mind,bla bla bla" she replies
That evil..😂
"Fine,what's the question?" I ask
"Have you and Stephanie ever fought over a guy?" She asks
I scrunch up my face..
"What? No? Awkward!" I say
"Fighting over a boy with your friend is just weird and childish"
"Hmm,we've got some maturity going on" Esther replies with an impressed smirk
"Jake?" Esther asks causing him to look up from his phone
"Yes?"
"Have you lied to Kim to see a girl before,and what was her name?" Esther asks.. Honestly,this question doesn't get me annoyed,not anymore.. Jay and I are mature enough to talk things out,well.. In some situations..
"That would be me" A voice I know anywhere says behind us..
Sonya..
Jay looks shocked,but he's trying to keep it cool,everyone has their mouths swung open..
"Hey guys,nice to see you too" she replies giggling
"Hi,Sonya" I manage to say
"Oh,hi Kim.. So good to see you" she says sitting beside Stephanie
She looks gorgeous,she's in a royal blue knee length gown,black heels,a silver boe on her head and her hair is let down.. Her makeup is on fleek,truth be told..
I,on the other hand.. I'm in a silver sequin gown,black flats,my hair is also let down,and my makeup isn't enough to be mistaken for a masquerade,but it's cool.. Nothing too flamboyant..
"I've missed you so much,Kim.. I haven't seen you in ages" she says excited
"Yah,no kidding" I reply sarcastically
"I see Jay is happy now" she says and there is an awkward change..
"Of course,anyways.. How have you been?" I ask cheerfully
"I've been good,squeezing work,school,relationships,and the list goes on" she says dramatically
"Babe!" A guy walks at a fast pace,approaching our table.. Nearly breathless
"Oh,Michael.. Hi" she says waving
"Hi? Sonya,I didn't see you at the spot you initially were,I've been looking everywhere for you" he pants
"I'm sorry.. I just noticed Jake;my friend,so I decided to come to his table,and also spend time with his friends" she replies
"It's fine" he replies,sitting next to her
"Where's my cold water?" She asks
"Um,it became luke warm when I was searching for you,so I dropped it on a counter" he replies
"Gosh,I wanted that badly.. But,it's fine" she says..
Poor guy..
"Oh,where are my manners?" She says clumsily
"Lost in space" I whisper to myself
"Guys,this is Michael;my boyfriend" she says holding his hand..
"Nice to meet you,Michelle" I say deliberately
"It's Michael" he corrects
"Sure thing,Michelle" I reply
Jay shoves me playfully as a cue to stop messing with the dude's head..
"Anyway,I can always learn your name later" I say ending it with a scoff
Oh,Kim🤦🏽
"Do you play football?" Daniel asks
"No,cricket"
"Boring!" Daniel yells like a little kid
"Well,I'm Esther.. And I'm happy to meet you" Esther says politely
He and Stephanie also exchange pleasantries..
Michael has blonde hair,and he is handsome,he has green eyes,and his arms are well sculptured..
"She's my girlfriend,the one who treats me better than Sonya" Jay says introducing me to Michael..
Jay hasn't spoken since,but the statement he said is worth speaking..
Sonya looks angry,but she covers it up,Michael looks shocked at Jay's choice of words..
You ain't seen nothing,yet..
"I've met her,she seems nice" Michael says nodding
"She is" Jaycorrects
Jay puts an arm around my shoulder and makes himself comfortable..
"Shall we continue the game?" Esther asks
"What game?" Sonya asks
Esther explains it to her,and we're all ready to play..
"So,Sonya?"
"Hmm?"
"You and Jake's closest moment,from last month" Esther adds
"To be honest,we haven't spoken in the last month really often,let alone see each other" she says..
I'm so proud of you,Jay!
I lean in to peck him...
"Fine,three months ago"
"Umm.. It was raining,and Jake and I were coming back from dinner,so.. He crashed at my place,we had a bonfire when the rain stopped,we told secrets,we cuddled.. And, then we kissed-" Sonya starts
"That sounds fun" Esther cuts in
Jay tenses up next to me,and I can feel the tension.. This barely happens to Jay.. It looks like Sonya's mouth is the sibling of a broken tap.. She doesn't have to give us the details,he might be my boyfriend,but I respect privacy..
"Let's do something else" I suggest,trying to get out of this awkward game..
"Like?" Stephanie asks
"I don't know" I say taking a glass of vodka,yet again..
"Sonya,why don't you tell is more about you?" Stephanie asks
"OK... I'm the only child of my parents,I attend a medical school a few minutes from here,Jake and I were neighbors when we were young,but we became closer as we grew up... I love the colour pink so much,it's so vibrant,I love pasta,and my boyfriend's name is Michael" she narrates
"Cool history" Stephanie says impressed
"Thanks"
Glass after glass,it feels so good... The burning sensation I feel in my throat every time I taste this is nice.. The others have been talking,I just chip in a few words once in a while so they know I'm fine.. But honestly,I feel numb,I don't know if it's the fact that Jay is here with Sonya,or the fact I'm leaving college soon,or the fact I might have an episode right here,and now.. My head is spinning,so I decide to take a glass of tequila.. Not the best idea right now,but I hope it eases the pain..
Jay puts his hand on Sonya's shoulder and whispers something into her ear,she giggles shyly,and I just watch..
I'm not gonna get angry,they're just friends..
I drink a mighty amount of Vodka once again..
"Babe,you fine?" Jay asks facing me
I nod in response
"I gotta use the restroom" I whisper
"You need help?" He asks worried
"I'm finee! Have fun" I reply
"Kim"
"Shh,I'm not a kid,and I don't want you invading my privacy" I whine
"Fine,but you can always call me if you need anything" he replies cupping my face
I nod,and I get up..
My walk to the bathroom isn't altered by me,it's like I don't have control of my body again.. I feel dizzy,OK.. I need to sit down,I find a seat next to the bathroom door and I sit on it... I feel uneasy,like I wanna puke,I rush into the bathroom and I puke out everything I ate from breakfast till now into the toilet.. I hold up my hair and I continue to puke till I feel like my whole system is empty..
I wash my face with water,and I feel so weak from puking.. I sit on the chair again,everything spinning.. My eyes drift close and everything becomes blank...
Jake's POV..
Okay,it's official ten minutes,I set a stopwatch on my phone in case she isn't back by then.. I get up from my seat
"Dan,I'll be back" I whisper to Daniel.
He nods
"Hey,where you going?" Sonya asks holding my arm.
I look down at her arm with distaste..
I reluctantly get her hand off my arm
"I can't tell you my every move" I reply rolling my eyes
"Are you going to pee?" She asks
"Jeez.. No,and why would I tell you" I reply exasperated.. Why would she ask that?
"Sorry,but be back soon"
"Whatever" I whisper,walking away
"Weirdo" I mutter as I continue walking.
I head for the girls' toilet and I look inside,no one's here.. I start walking back when I notice a figure,sprawled on a chair,unconscious....
That bracelet..
That's Kim.. That diamond bracelet was her birthday gift from me..
I walk up to the chair,worried..
"Kim?" I ask gently tapping her..
She's unconscious,oh my.. She's had too much to drink..
I pick her up,bridal style and I walk back to the others. I put her arms around my neck..
"Oh my,what's wrong?" Stephanie asks worried
"She's just had too much" I reply sighing
"I'll take care of her,y'all should have fun" I say
"Fun? She's fricking unconscious. I'm coming with you" Esther yells
"No,the last thing we want is for her to be overcrowded,she needs air"
"We'll be in school any minute,man.. I'll take care of the bill" Daniel says
"Thanks,bye" I reply in a hurry
"Take care" Sonya yells as I start to leave..
I unlock my car and gently lay her down at the back seat,after making sure she's comfy,I run to the driver's seat..
I then,zoom off to school..

I bring her down from the car,and I carry her bridal style
"Doon't" she mumbles
"Kim?" I ask worried
She doesn't respond..
I run to my dorm,and I hastily unlock it.... I lay her on my bed,then I go to the shower to start running the water... I turn it to 'warm' and I help her get out of her clothes...
I just bathed for her for her(which wasn't easy at all), I'm looking for clothes for her.. I pick out one of my jerseys and a pair of adjustable jersey shorts..
I put the jersey on for her,followed by the shorts,it has an adjustable rope,so I make it her waist size.. I then lay her on the bed,then covering her up with my duvet..
I sigh,sitting at the end of the bed,tracing circles on her cheek..
She looks cute.. I just wish I could have prevented this..
"Dude?" I hear a voice from the other side of the door. It's Daniel's
"Come in,it's open"
He rushes in with Esther and Stephanie
"Kim? Are you okay?" Stephanie asks panicking
"She's fine.. She just can't hear you,for now" I reply
"She's going to have a bad hangover" Esther says
"Yes,that's why I need to be here" I say seriously
"You know,if not for that jerkish side of you,you're really a good boyfriend" Esther says nodding
"Thanks" I reply running my hand through my hair
"Why did she drink so much?" Daniel asks
"She was just overthinking" I say sighing
"Kim," Stephanie says sighing,moving closer to her "why do you think so much? I assured you that we're always here for you..." She ends as tears roll down her cheeks
"She'll be fine" I assure,patting her back
She nods
"Do you need me to stay?" Stephanie asks
"No"
"Me?" Esther asks
"No"
"I think I'll stay in Stephanie and Kim's dorm" Daniel suggests
"Your bed is vacant" I say
"I know"
"Suit yourself" I shrug
"OK guys,it's time to leave.. Thank you so much,and I promise she'll be fine" I assure
"Promise?" Daniel asks
"Promise,bro"
They all leave,and I lay beside Kim.. I turn my body to face her,and I wrap my arms around her waist,as I pull her closer to me...
The next morning..
Kim's POV..
This isn't my bed,nor is this my-
Ohhh... Jake's dorm.. Why am I here?
Oh my gosh.. There's a sharp pain in my head,it feels like my head is being cut to pieces..
Then,I feel an arm wrapped around me,I turn to see Jake,awnn- wait,I'm in his jersey.. I sit up,but I wince again,and I feel dizzy,so I lay back down.. I can't even break free from his hold on me,it's so tight....
I am not waking him up,that's inconsiderate..
I need some painkillers,but I can't get up..firstly,Jake is holding my waist,secondly,I fell so dizzy that I think I might trip if I try walking..
"Kim?" Jay asks rubbing his eyes
"Hi,good mo-ow" I groan in pain
"You okay?" He asks getting up
"No" I say honestly
"I'll get some painkillers,don't move" he says and gets up
Way to go,Kim.. The first thing someone does in the morning is get you painkillers.. I'm such a pain in the thigh🤦🏽
"Here" he says handing two capsules to me
"Thanks" I say receiving it. He stands there watching,in his morning glory..
I use the drug with a glass of water. He takes the glass from me.
"Missy,we need to talk when you're sober" he says putting a hand on his hip
"Sober?-oh.. I got drunk?" I ask innocently
"This is no joke,Kim.. I was worried" he replies sitting next to me
"I'm sorry.. And thank you for,you know.. Taking care of me" I say pecking him
"No problem.. But,you really need to talk to me whenever you have a problem,alcohol might make you feel better for a few minutes,but the side effects are deadly" he replies
"I know,I'm sorry" I say fiddling with a loose thread at the tip of the shorts I'm wearing
He grabs me from behind,cuddling me
"I love you" he whispers
"I love you too"
"Are you hungry?" He asks
"Nope,I still feel like puking" I say disgusted
"It'll wear out"
"I hope so" I reply
"Sonya has a boyfriend,now" he says
"Yah,Jake.. Just because I was drunk doesn't mean I don't have any memory from last night" I reply laughing
He rolls his eyes
"I just can't remember from a certain point"
"Yah,um.. Steph asked if she could come to see you,but I said you still needed sleep. I told her to come later" he says
"Thanks"
"You wanna watch a movie?" He asks
"I don't know"
"You want me here?" He asks with a smirk
"That's not a question.. You don't have a choice,because you're staying" I say
