Some Ohio and Virginia angst
"Why are you talking to me?" Virginia asked, glaring at the other state.
"I was just wondering if you wanted something to drink?" Ohio responded.
"I'm not taking a drink from a mistake like you." Virginia responded, glaring even more.
Ohio knew those words all to well, he knew Virginia didn't like him. He wanted to have a good relationship with him, to be friends, but Virginia didn't want that.
"Bye!" Ohio said, leaving. Virginia didn't respond, he just watched the state leave.
Ohio still got hurt each time Virginia said those words. He didn't think he should be hurt, he had to be used to the words by now, right? Each time Virginia called him a 'mistake' or a 'failure' Ohio believed it more and more. He knew Virginia's words had to be true, why else would he say them?
Ohio went to find his boyfriends. He saw Indiana and Alabama outside playing. He approached the two.
"Hi!" Indiana greeted happily, hugging Ohio and smiling.
"Hey, how are you?" Alabama asked.
"Ope, I'm doing fine, how are you two?" Ohio responded, asking his own question as well.
"I'm doing good!" Indiana exclaimed happily.
"Same as him!" Alabama responded, wrapping an arm around Indiana's shoulder. Ohio didn't feel better, the words where stuck in his head, he just wanted them gone.
"Hi! How are you?" Ohio asked, looking over at Virginia.
"I was doing good, now you're here." Virginia hated seeing the Midwestern state. He glared daggers into Ohio's eyes almost immediately.
"Is there anything you wanna do?" Ohio asked, trying to be friendly.
"Why would I wanna spend to time with you? You're a fucking failure! I raised you and you turned out like this!" Virginia hissed, looking at Ohio disgusted.
"Not to mention this only happened when you left me, you went down the fucking drain after that. I knew you where gonna be a failure." Virginia added on.
"You should've never left me, I don't know why I raised you, you hurt me, you tried to kill me." Virginia finished. Ohio was taken aback, he had been so by Virginia's words before, but this was different. Maybe he does hate me. Ohio thought. He is right, I'm a mistake, a failure, I hurt him, I didn't want to hurt him. Ohio tried to get the thoughts out of his head.
"I'd be happy if you killed yourself." Virginia said.
"If that's what it takes for you to be happy with me." Ohio responded.
