Alice's POV...
"Can I come too?" I ask Daniel..
I'm having lunch with some of Daniel's friends,and they're discussing this resort vacation that they're planning.
"No,champ.. You can stay here with Carter" he says rolling his eyes.
"That's a sensitive topic" I say hitting his arm
"So,neither of you have confessed?" Kim asks biting a burger
"No,Kim.. It's gonna take a lot of gut to do that" I reply
"Well,you need to summon courage soon" Stephanie says
I just shrug..
"So,dudes.. How many days are we staying for?" Jake asks like he didn't hear what we've been talking about..
"I'm thinking a week" Stephanie suggests
"Y'all are gonna be gone for a week?" I ask surprised
"Yes," Jake says sipping his juice "I mean,we just wrote our final exams,and convocation day is coming,so.. That's more than enough reason to go on a vacation.. Our brains have been stressed out" he finishes dramatically
"And,Jake also needs to show off his rough coils" Kim giggles
I just roll my eyes
"Yup.. My new hair cut needs to be flexed" he replies
"So,are we taking individual cars?" Stephanie asks
"That'll be too stressful" Daniel sighs
"Yup" I chip in
"So,um.. My parents' friends own this beach resort,it's pretty cool.. I'll talk to my parents to inform their friends,we can also get some discount" Jake suggests
"That'll make things easier,thanks man" Daniel says
"Yah,no probs.. Kim knows the resort too" Jake says
"Oh really"Daniel smirks
"Yah.. We went there last summer,together"Kim says
"Oh,yes.. You told me about it.. Um,Platinum Beach Resort" Stephanie says stroking her chin
"Yes,they have everything" Kim says
"Or y'all could go camping" I suggest
Stephanie's fork drops on her plate..
"Camping? Me? Camping? How badly do you want me dead,Alice.. No shower,no bed. It's-"
"Just torture" Kim interrupts Stephanie's rant.. "We know,you say that every time we suggest camping"
"So,scratch camping out of the list" Jake says smirking
"The bears,the mosquitoes,no power supply,no-"
"We get it,dude.. We're not going camping" Kim interrupts with an annoyed tone.
"So,I'll talk to my parents" Jake says smirking
"Thanks babe" Kim replies
"Kim and I will talk to Shiva" Stephanie suggests
"I'll tell the others about it" Daniel suggests
"And I'll try to talk to Carter" I say rolling my eyes
"Yes,go for it" Daniel says
We eat up and everyone leaves,I decide to go to the field,Carter must be practicing.. After all,Daniel and the others are leaving college soon so a new set will take over....
I sit on a bench,watching Carter in all his glory.. He looks tired,but cute.. His hair is messy and I can see his abs from his T-shirt;that's because his T-shirt is sticking to his skin.. He's all wet,so his T-shirt is like glue to paper..
I don't wanna interrupt,so I'll just stay quiet.. I'm watching a movie on my phone..
Someone taps me
"Hey,Alice!" Carter says smirking
"Hi,how was practice?" I ask
"It's going good.. We ain't done yet,we're on a break" he says running his hand through his hair
That hair😌..
"So," he says sitting next to me "what's up?"
"Nothing" I say nervously
"You're gonna miss Daniel,right?" He asks
"Yes,I mean.. He's leaving college" I shrug
"Yah..I felt that way too when my sis was leaving" he says holding my shoulder... That sent shivers through me.
"Hey,it's getting windy" I say hugging myself
"Yup,and your hair is becoming a mess" he says in an amused tone
I gasp.. But,he runs to his bag.. What??
He comes back with his hoodie..
"Here,put this on" he says stretching it to me..
"What?" I ask confused.. This can't be happening..
"If you're gonna stay here to watch,then you're gonna have to put this on" he says
"Um,thanks" I say receiving it.
I put it on and it smells so much of him,natural with a hint of manly cologne..
"So,Alice" he starts in a serious tone "it's been months"
Drop..
Drop..
It's drizzling,it's gonna rain..
"Shoot,it's drizzling!" He says in an annoyed tone.
"Yes,what did you wanna say?" I ask
"If I'm gonna do this.. I'm gonna have to do it now" he says seriously
"What do you mean?" I ask as rain starts dripping on me
He gets on one knee.. Oh boy,no..
"Alice Richards,will you make this stupid egocentric jerk happy and be his girlfriend?" He asks smirking
"Oh my,Carter.. I wasn't expecting this" I say out of breath
Answer the dude😒
"Yes,I will.. I'll be happy to" I say giggling
He gets up and hugs me.. We're both so wet but I'm happy,this is the first time we've hugged and I feel the connection..
And here I am,ladies and gentleman..
I,Alice Richards just got asked out by my eternal crush-literally eternal... I can't wait to tell Daniel,ooh,and Stephanie,and Kim,and-
Carter coughs interrupting my thoughts..
"Sorry" I say through gritted teeth
"You're gonna get a cold,come into my car" he says..
I look at him with a shocked face
"I mean,the dorms are far from here.. It'll take years,and my car is just there" he says pointing to his car
"I guess I have no choice" I say
He holds my hand and leads me to his car,he opens the door for me and I hesitate..
"What are you doing? It's raining heavily now!" He yells concerned because the sound of rain is filling my ears.
"I'll mess up your seat,I'm dripping" I reply
"Just get in,Alice.. I'm less concerned about my seat. You're gonna get sick" he says
"But-" I try to argue but Carter cuts in
"I'll carry you in if I have to,now get your-excuse my language-butt in the car" he demands
I groan in defeat and I get in.. We both get in and he closes the door.. We're both breathing heavily..
"You're so stubborn" he says rolling his eyes..
I can't help but blush and he notices..
"Are you blushing?" He asks amused
"No,I'm just cold" I lie
"Well," he says turning his body to the back seat and grabs a duvet.. "The hoodie is useless now,so use this"
"Thanks" I say receiving it
"And,I'm sorry about your hoodie"
"Would you stop apologizing.. It's fine,Alice" he says..
I've never really gotten to see this soft side of Carter,he's really caring.. And,his car,don't let me get started on it,the interior... It's all so mature and the scent is amazing.. It smells like him..
"Alice" he calls my attention
"Yes?"
"I've liked you for a while now,and I just summoned courage to ask you out,if you wanna have a rethink-" I interrupt.. Oh,no.. I'm not having a rethink
"I'm not having a rethink,I've liked you too,but I was just afraid of getting turned down. You're popular and all,I didn't think you'd wanna be in a serious relationship" I end with a sigh
"I get your point,but my feelings towards you are genuine. I just hope Daniel likes me" he says
"Oh,no need to worry about that.. Daniel,his girlfriend and some of his friends love you" I say excitedly
Carter just chuckles..
"So,you wanna take over the captain title from Jake?" I ask changing the subject
"I guess" he shrugs
"Wow,the rain is stopping" I say looking out the window .
"Yup.. But you're staying till it totally stops.. It's either that or I carry you bridal style to your dorm" he says and a smirk grows on his face..
I give him a 'you dare not do that' look..

"Put me down,Carter!" I yell hitting his chest
Yes,rule one of Carter's rule book: I always fulfill my promises
"No,babe" he smirks.
Him calling me babe just gets butterflies in my stomach..
"We're almost at your dorm" he adds
"Hey,Ali-" Daniel stops walking... his mouth swings open..
I laugh nervously
"Hey bro"
"What is going on?" He asks seriously
Ah,Daniel can get overprotective..😥
"Put me down" I whisper to Carter
"No" he whispers back
"Alice? Care to explain?"
"Sure,I'm his girlfriend now" I blurt out.. Nice,Alice.. Just nice..
"Girlfriend? When did all that happen?" He asks confused
"I asked her out when I was on my break,she was on the bench,and I decided I had to do it.. She's really special" Carter says to Daniel
Daniel glares at him
"Carter,I really like you,but Alice is your girlfriend now.. And that doesn't guarantee you to hurt her," he pauses and has a wicked smirk on his face "we all know what's gonna happen if you do.. A wheelchair will become your closest friend"
"We know I won't lay a finger on her.. Ladies are delicate and I respect that,And as for Alice.. Well,she's an angel sent to me,so why would I hurt an angel who makes me happy?" He says and Daniel seems impressed
Um.. Hello? I'm still in Carter's arms..
"Well then,I'm happy for the both of you" Daniel bends down to peck me
"See you around,sis"
He gives Carter a fist bump and he walks away..
"You're crazy" I say
"About you" he finishes
I smile at him..
"Aren't your arms hurting?' I ask concerned
"Nah" he says
"So,milady... Let's head to your destination" he smirks and I remember he was supposed to take me to my dorm..

"Omg!!!!" Jasmin screams immediately she opens the door
"Carter... Arms.. You.. Door.. Carry.." She says
"What?" Carter asks confused
"She's just surprised" I say rolling my eyes
"What's going on?" She asks finally being able to steady her breathing
"Well,Jasmin," he starts entering my dorm. "I made her my girlfriend today"
"Wow,Alice!!!! I'm so happy for you" she giggles
"Yah,thanks," I say to Jasmin. I turn to face Carter. "Can I come down now?"
"Not until I say so". "One,two,three,four ,five" he counts and gently puts me on the bed
"You're something else.. You didn't wanna put me down when I said so" I say shaking my head
"Exactly,babe.. I love doing things my own way and at my own rate" he smirks
"So,Alice.. How,when,and how did it happen?" Jasmin asks excitedly
"You asked how twice" I say scratching my head
"I'm just excited"
"Fine,I'll tell you when I'm all dry" I say
"Right" Carter says. "Alice,take a warm bath,should I make some hot chocolate?"
"No,there's no need for that. You probably have stuff to do" I reply
Rule two of Carter's rule book: Respect and listen to the ladies
"If not for rule two,I'll have stayed" he says in defeat
"Yes" I say grinning
"So," he leans in to peck me. "I'll be back later,take care of yourself"
"Thank you,Carter!" I say
"Enough with the thank yous,now go freshen up" he says.. He winks before leaving..
Jasmin gives me a 'you have to tell me the details' look..
