I placed my hands over the black briefcase placed in front of me. Hearing footsteps behind me only caused a sly smirk to form on my face.

My hands lightly skimmed over the weapon case, not bothered about the man behind me.

"I did not come to make a deal with a child," the mans thick french accent made it harder to understand him.

He was acting like I was some idiot and some part of me didn't want to blame him.

"Where is he? Where is silver?"

"If you want answers you're gonna have to try harder than that," I laughed turning on my heel to face him. "Now I advise you to watch your tone."

"Or else what? What's a little girl like you going to–"

The old man didn't get to finish off his sentence because a certain werewolf from behind him had hit him on the head causing him to pass out.

"Took you long enough," I scowl picking the case up and placing it in his hands.

"I was enjoying the view," Isaac smirked as we both bent down to the passed out man.

I rolled my eyes at him as we began to take off all the armed weapons our client was carrying.

I picked up the amateur pistol hidden in the belt of his pants and a shank in his pocket. I have a feeling he didn't just come for a gun deal.

"Enjoy the view after our lives are not in danger," I finally reply and he lightly shakes his head.

"Unfortunately I can't control what I see," he smiled and I shove him. "You can't blame me, Jenson."

I put each weapon he was carrying into a new case and we both take two cases each, beginning to walk out of the abandoned mill.

Argent is stood at the hood of his car rearranging his guns with the blueprints of the mill laid in front of him.

"Your right Lahey I don't blame you," I agree as we both walk towards the car. "I am a great view."

"You're also a tease Jenson," he retorted and I laughed nodding my head.

"Only for you Lahey. Only for you."

We walked to the other side of the car where Argent was stood, ignoring our usual bickering.

"Client was white french male, slightly overweight and clearly a misogynistic asshole who underestimated the power of Skyler Argent Jenson," I confirmed while doodling on the blueprint that was sat on the hood of the car.

"And her werewolf friend," Isaac added while stealing my pen to carry on the drawing.

"God I cant wait to get home. After the four gun deals we did today I think I'm gonna need a few years rest," I was being slightly dramatic but it would also be nice to not work my ass off when I'm meant to be enjoying the great sights of France.

"You guys did a good job and looks like you'll get your wish," Argent said in his calm tone not giving away a hint on what he was on about.

The both of us shot our heads up looking at him in confusion. Did I hear that correctly?

"You're being serious? What did we do something wrong?" I asked and Isaac tried holding back the laugh.

"After you almost burned down the building on your second deal this was a great success."

"Okay, you know what Lahey, I will burn down your ass if you don't get over that. It was a month ago. Give it up!" I exclaimed snatching my pen back off him.

"What about that time you almost burned Cora's apartment after you got angry at her because she was trying to teach you control?" He asked recalling my every flaw.

Clearly, this had to be with me being a tease. Hopefully, he knows I could still kick his werewolf butt.

"Listen Isaac! I may have full control now but just so you know if I wanted to, your ass would be burned down with that building," I was definitely threatening him.

"So why haven't you?"

"I enjoy the view," I shrugged with a smirk on my face and he laughs placing an arm around my shoulder.

Argent waited for us to finish as he picked up the gun and the duffle bag. "This may be our last deal for a while." He stated and we both still looked at him with a confused expression. "I'd say you get a good nights sleep after this."

"Why? Who died now?" I asked and he picked up his phone not answering me. Now that was rude.

"Why are we leaving?" I asked again going for an actual answer.

He held up the screen of his phone to me and Isaac and he was slightly smiling. Now that's a rare view.

I couldn't help but smile too. Here we go again.

"I got a text."

༄༄

"You're not coming?" I asked while packing up a few pairs of clothes into my suitcase.

Isaac was laid on our bed, relaxing.

"No, I'm staying in the apartment. Or I'll stay with Cora while your gone," he said and I raised my eyebrows, stopping myself from what I'm doing.

"I'm only going to be gone for a week Isaac," I said sitting down on the edge of the bed.

"Sky we both know you're not coming back for a while. Actually, we both know why you'll actually stay in Beacon Hills and it's not your love for the town or the school," he scoffed while playing around with one of my ring daggers.

"You know for someone who doesn't look like he cares you sure seem to be concerned," I let out a low groan while snatching the dagger off him.

He's Isaac. Knowing him he'll end up gauging his eye out.

"I'm just saying he–"

"I don't wanna hear it. So don't say anything," I interrupt him and begin to rush the packing.

"It won't be easy seeing him," he quickly stated and I stood still for half a second before carrying on with my packing. "Sky that's not gonna be enough clothes and you know it."

"And when did you become so great at this? Last time I checked the only good thing you were good at is pissing me off," I retort and he rolled his eyes at me but still managed to keep his grin on.

He stood up and walked over to my closet taking out more clothes.

"I'm only going to be there for a week Isaac. Like I said. No longer," I said firmly sticking to my argument. "So stay at the apartment. Cause you'll have my annoying ass back with you soon."

"And the nightmares?"

I froze for a second and looked up at him. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't been thinking about it. But it wasn't that big of a deal. I think.

I pressed my lips into a thin line and tried not to show how much that word affected me.

"I'll be fine," I said but my voice was laced with indecisiveness. "You don't have to hold my hand through everything Lahey. There are plenty werewolves in Beacon Hills for that."

"Who knows about them?" He asked, sounding like he wanted a serious answer.

I didn't give him one. Until he asked again.

"Who knows Skyler?"

"You. And Argent," I answered and his palms went to rest on my shoulders while he looked down at me.

"Sky, if you want me to come I–"

"No," I quickly wiped away the tear that was about to slip away from my eye. Close one. "No, I couldn't do that to you. After all the fun you're having here. I know you want to stay."

"It doesn't matter about what I want," he was persistent but we both knew how stubborn I was.

"Lahey shut up and take the offer of not suffering," I groaned and he laughed. "You've already done a lot. I'll be fine."

It fell silent for a few seconds before we both started packing my suitcase.

"She'd be so proud of you both," Argent emerged from the doorway and we both shoot our heads up to him.

"Yeah. She would," I couldn't help but smile widely by the memory of Allison.

God, it was gonna be even harder going back.

"She still is," Isaac added and I nodded giving a sad laugh. "You gonna be okay?" He asks one last time.

The things I have to do to make something stick in his head. I turn around and hug him tightly.

He still looked extremely unsure by my statement which made it even more tiring to repeat.

"Seriously Isaac. I'll be fine," I said and immediately hugged him tighter to assure him. "Besides if it does...get worse, I'll immediately call you."

"You promise?" He asked squeezing me while his chin rested on my head.

"Isaac when have I ever let you down?" I asked and he let out an ironic laugh. Wrong question. "Actually don't answer that."

"I'm gonna kill you!"

The sound of a young persons anger became louder as well as his footsteps. I was getting closer which meant I was getting a lot better.

His growling became louder too. And then there was Scott.

"This is your fault! This is all your fault!" The kid was sounding like he was about to kill a certain dog buddy of mine.

Suddenly there was a big flash of light in my right direction and I groaned pacing myself towards it.

Argent stood with his crossbow at the top of a hill. I was still hidden in the shadows making myself scarce while looking towards them.

I'm guessing the beta had run off because there were only two people there.

"How did you know?" I heard Scott's shocked voice and saw Argent helping him up.

"We got your text," Argent answered.

Scott looked confused and began looking around.

"We?"

"We," I stated while stepping forward and playing with the ring dagger in my hand while standing against the tree. "Miss me Scotty?"

"Skyler?" a wide smile appeared on his face. That was thankfully the reaction I was hoping for.

And there was no way I was containing myself.

I giggled and ran over to him hugging him tightly. He did not hesitate to hug back.

"I thought you weren't coming?" He was still out of breath and shocked.

I was shocked about the fact that he thought I wasn't gonna be here.

"Oh come on. After everything you think I wouldn't come back to see you fail at being an Alpha without me?" I asked and he pulled away from the hug still looking down at me. "New Beta huh?"

"It's a long story."

"It always is," I nodded and looked down at the small device in my other hand. The button to the transmitters we put around the forest. "Missed you Scotty."

"I missed you too Sky," he gave me a smaller hug. "We all did." His eyes went straight to mine.

I knew what he meant by that. I chose to ignore it because I knew it wasn't true.

"There's a clearing just north of here. All you have to do is corral him there," Argent explained and then looked to me. "The rest is taken care of."

"What are you going to do?" He questioned looking at the two of us.

Yeah, that's what he needs to currently worry about.

I've done already enough.

"He's your Beta, Scott," I scoffed answering his question in a blunt tone. "The better question is what are you going to do?"

"He won't listen to me," he sighed and I raised my eyebrows.

I'm surprised that's a problem since he's spent all of his life with me.

"He will if you start using your own words," Chris advised and I held up the transmitter and switched it on.

The sound of the kid screaming echoed throughout the entire forest and I cringed. The kids got a loud voice.

"Here," I threw the device at him and he caught it giving me one last look. I gave him a short assuring nod. "Go."

I watched Scott leave but the smile on my face didn't. Actually ever since we got into Beacon Hills I hadn't stopped.

But then the sound of the party was putting me in a lot of confusion. I wanted to see everyone but I also didn't want the feeling of her not being here with me every step of the way.

It didn't change the thought of seeing everyone again. Seeing him again.

Argent was looking at me as if he was observing my every motion. I turned around and furrowed my eyebrows.

"What?"

"You like being back here," he observed but I didn't deny it. "I think staying here a little longer to improve your hunting skills wouldn't be so bad."

"No," I objected but I was still facing towards where the music was blaring from. "No, I'm still gonna leave in a few days. Just seeing everyone wouldn't be so bad."

I looked back at Argent and slipped my ring dagger back in its cover that was hooked under my shirt.

"Hey, by the way, my hunting skills are great! Your forty years of experience just beat mine!"

Argent laughed as I began walking away towards the direction Scott went in. I could hear the sound of two tired werewolves.

I stared down at the two watching Scott take his place as an alpha.

He was crouched down in front of the beta. The kid was sat, crying to himself. And Scott was listening.

Scott was always a good listener.

"Liam it's okay," Scott assured but he was still sobbing.

"My parents, my friends. They can't see me like this," Liam sobbed and I felt that one hurt.

He didn't want them to see him as a monster. Like this disappointment. Everything but their child.

"Like a monster?" Scott said and stood up still looking down at Liam. "You're not a monster. You're a werewolf. Like me."

As soon as Scott's eyes changed to a violent red I felt the colour of mine change.

And Liam's beta eyes shone through.

I could get used to this feeling again. Feeling of being with a pack. Scott's pack. My friends.

"Yellow looks good on you," I stated while walking towards the two. I helped Liam up off the ground and looked at Scott smiling. "Great speech, you get it from the internet?"

Scott laughed shaking his head. "No. I just remembered what it was like when it was my first full moon. That's what I would've wanted to hear."

"How did you get through your first full moon?"
Liam asked looking at Scott.

"I didn't," Scott laughed but Liam widened his eyes.

"Yeah didn't you get hunted on your first night?" I chuckled and Scott nodded recalling the memory.

When everything was so much easier.

"But I had my best friends who found me on the side of the road the next morning and went out of their way to help me," Scott said while looking in my direction and I gave him a wink and looked at Liam.

"I'm the best friend by the way," I stated proudly and Scott nodded. "Yeah and there was that one time me and Stiles, we had to go with Derek to save him from dying because of this bullet and it was awesome cause Stiles..." I paused for a second because I realised now that I'm back I have to see Stiles. I coughed awkwardly trying to change the subject. "Just make sure you know we're here for you newbie."

"It's Liam." He added and I nodded my head.

"I know."

"She knows."

Scott and I said in unison and I grinned. Let the name-calling begin. I have about seventeen so far.

The party sounded like it was dying down and I stared at the bright lights coming from it. I knew it was one of Lydia's parties cause she did throw the biggest and the best.

The single thought of having Lydia by my side again only gave me an adrenaline kick. It was the thought of being supernaturally connected.

I just hope I got someone to miss me. Being away for two months didn't exactly reassure me that everyone's feelings towards me would stay the same.

I just hope Lydia is as welcoming to Malia as she intended to be. Cause I won't be.

The sound of Scott's phone going off stopped me from drowning deeper in my thoughts. He reached into his pocket to grab his phone and answered the call.

"Hey what's up?" Scott asked speaking to the phone. I could only hear mumbling but the sound of a high-pitched panicked voice helped me recognise Lydia's voice. "I also need to show you guys what I found. We'll be there in five."

He ended the call and looked over at me and then at Liam. "They want us back at the lake house. It's urgent. I'm hoping it's good since you just got back."

I raised my eyebrows still staring at the lake house. "Scott it's Beacon Hills. Nothing good ever happens when we're involved."

We began walking towards the lake house but I felt a pit in my stomach starting to grow bigger when we got closer.

"Whose exactly at the lake house? You know. Just for confirmation and there are no new additions to this pack of yours?" I questioned while walking behind the two betas.

It took Scott some long seconds to answer the questions. The anxious look on his face didn't make it any better. I'm loving the suspense.

"I know you guys haven't talked since–"

"It's fine," I interrupted Scott's long explanation/apology with a lie. I just didn't want to create more stress about how I left things. Definitely not stressed at all. "I'm, fine."

Once we got to the lake house a few kids were leaving in cars and some rushing out because of the potential curfew. But the place was a mess.

I felt the connection to Lydia become stronger and the temperature of my body began heating up. My eyes were changing but I was in control.

I was always in control.

"Lydia?" Scott called as he entered the place. I delayed myself a few seconds, letting the two-step in front of me.

I heard two sets of footsteps make their way down. Actually, they sounded like they were in a rush.

"Deadpool!" Kira blurted and it only made me giggle. Only took me three hours of being back in Beacon Hills for there to be a Deadpool. "The list. Lydia cracked a list and it's a Deadpool. Using Peter Hales money."

"I've been back for an hour guys, the least you could do is make sure that there wasn't another killing spree," I laughed emerging from the door and into the room.

The funniest part is watching Kira's mouth drop while a panicked Lydia with a piece of paper in her hand rushed down the stairs.

"Hey Lyds that Deadpool any interesting?" I asked and her head immediately turned to face me and pure shock spread on her face. "I've not gone that ugly, the least you could do is hide your opinion."

"Skyler!" I couldn't tell if it was her high-pitched voice that hurt or her squeezing me so tightly. I missed both. "You're really here."

"And you're really holding a Deadpool," I muttered glancing over at the hand behind my back that had a paper. "I missed you Lydia." I laugh while squeezing her back.

"Wish I could say the same," she laughs finally stepping aside and I feel my smile becoming wider.
"Perfect timing too."

I grin and then walk over to hug Kira. "Hey, new girl. Scotty treating you right?" She laughs and answers by giving me a nod while hugging me back. "The sword coming in use?"

"Yeah especially when we went to Mexico to save Derek. Malia and I went to go fight off something but we never got the chance–"

"Malia?" I interrupt her potential rambling and look at Scott. "Why did no one mention Malia? Where is my least favourite werecoyote?"

Kira scrunched up her face immediately regretting something and didn't answer. I looked over at Scott who rubbed his neck awkwardly and Lydia gave me a deflated look.

"What?" I ask looking around the room at everyone. Liam was the only one who didn't look nervous at all. In fact, he looked as weirded out like me. "What did I say something?"

"I'm never spending another full moon in that basement again," that was the sound of the werecoyote I was on about.

I hate to admit I was actually excited to see her.

My grin grew wider when I heard Malia's voice coming from the basement.

"I don't know you didn't seem to hate it as much when I kissed you," I heard his voice getting closer and closer. "I'm pretty sure the party's over."

I think I just felt my heart drop to my feet and my chest beginning to ache.

Never mind.

Both walked into the room hand in hand smiling. Until their eyes landed on me. All I could focus on was their intertwined hands.

I watch both of them stare at me.

Stiles and Malia.

Guess Lydia and Scott forgot to mention that part in hour hourly video calls.

But I obviously had to say something.

"Actually, party's just getting started."
