"So how's uni been since we haven't seen or heard from you since fucking summer!" Mya raised her eyebrows, scolding Naomi for their lack of communication.
Yes they had their group chat which became active every now and again, but besides that, work and Naomi being at uni caused the three of them barley to even see each other anymore.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, it's been hectic to say the least" Naomi sighed knowing what was about be asked of her
"So, are we going to get an update on yours and Theo's situation? The last you told us, you slept with him and decided not to believe me when I claimed he could of been getting you breakfast, as you said 'no, he used me, end of'" Leilani mocked
"There's been a lot that's happened" Naomi confessed
"SPILL!" Mya shouted
"Okay, okay calm down I'm pretty sure all of Leilani's neighbours just heard you" Naomi laughed
"She's right, with your loud mouth Mya" Leilani cussed
"Okay but tell us already" Mya urged, significantly lowering her voice
"Well, he came to see me the day I moved back in" Naomi started
"And..." Mya gestured for her to continue
"And we slept together again"
"Was it as good as the first time?" Mya asked
"I'm not even gonna lie, low-key better. He straight up got all that aggression over summer out" Naomi laughed
"Okay I don't care about the sex, if I ain't getting none, I don't need to hear about your sex life. So what's going on between you two now?" Leilani interrupted
"Well we argued, A LOT, over September, October and November and then we almost called it quits because I obviously didn't want a relationship and we were just hurting each other"
"So then I asked for space and he gave it to me. Three days. It took me three days to crack and I just wanted him back. So we met up and we restarted. So now we're getting to know each other and making this work" Naomi concluded
"Awww that's cute, but tell me about the sex. I'm not Leilani, I wanna know everything" Mya rushed out
Naomi laughed that the opposites in her friends and was just about to tell Mya about everything when her phone started blowing up.
Shit, it was definitely Theo.
Over the past two weeks he'd call her at least once a day and if not that, then then he'd call the next day. She liked him always checking in, but she just didn't want him to right now. Not with the girls here.
Turning her phone over so the girls wouldn't know that Theo was the one calling, Naomi attempted to resume the conversation as though nothing had just happened.
"Um excuse me what are you hiding?" Mya asked, watching her friend's suspicious movements
"Nothing" Naomi lied
"Mya you restrain her whilst I grab the phone" Leilani ordered
"No!" Naomi screamed as Mya grabbed her arms and Leilani reached for her phone.
"Wow, would you look at that, it's Theo. As in Theo who you hated in first year and then he confessed his love for you"
"He didn't confess that word" Naomi grumbled "He just said he liked me"
"Aww he wants to talk to you. He misses you" Mya gushed
"More like, he misses her pussy you mean" Leilani laughed
"Oh fuck off!" Naomi rolled her eyes
"Well I wanna meet him so I'm answering the call" Leilani told them
"Wait no!" Naomi tried to shout but Leilani had already accepted the call and Theo's face came through on the screen.
It wasn't that she didn't want the girls to meet him, but they'd definitely scruntisise him after everything last year, as well as tease her for having a man.
"Naomi?" Theo said over the speaker as he was met with a black screen due to Leilani accidentally flipping it whilst Naomi managed to attack her for the phone.
"Baby you okay?" He asked as he heard screams from her end of the call.
The three of them were on the floor wrestling for the phone, which was out of reach.
Somehow Leilani managed to flip Naomi over so now she was at the brunt of it all and the two of them laid ontop of her, stopping her from moving, in any attempt to get her phone back.
"Baby?" Mya and Leilani both gasped at the sound of the pet name coming through the speaker in the midst of their screams and grunts.
"Now I know Naomi did not just get called 'baby' this bitch hates pet names" Leilani shouted
"Well looks like she hated them" mya snorted, exaggerating the 'd' in hated.
"Hi I'm Leilani, Naomi's best friend" Leilani introduced herself as she ran downstairs to get away from Naomi
"Hi, I'm-" Theo started as Mya cut him off, as Leilani chucked her Naomi's phone because Naomi was already downstairs, attempting to grab Leilani again.
"We know who you are. I'm Mya, Naomi's other best friend and you are...Wow!" She paused
"Fucking hell Naomi, where's this white boy from? Cause we definitely taking a day trip up there if they all look as fine as this!" Mya drooled
All Naomi could hear in response was Theo's laugh coming through her phone speaker.
Wow, thanks guys, now you've just made him even more cocky and definitely boosted his ego.
"Give me that" Naomi gritted out, snatching her phone back from them. "Ignore them" she sighed as she looked down at her screen and found Theo staring back at her.
She noticed his smile got bigger as he found it to be her he was now talking to. But then she noticed this boy was there wearing grey joggers, and just a vest.
Fuck, he looked good.
"Nah, nah it's fine, they're funny" Theo laughed
"See that Naomi, your man likes us. No need to stop us from meeting him" Leilani pointed out
"Hmm, 'your man' yeah? So you've finally claimed me?" Theo smirked
"Don't gass yourself up. But I guess I kinda had to with the fucking anklet you gave me" Naomi admitted
"You still wearing it baby? He asked
"Always" she smiled as she flipped the camera to show it hooked around her ankle
"Good girl" he rasped
Naomi heard a squeal and immediately looked away from the phone. She quickly put herself on mute and looked up at the girls who were jumping around, whisper shouting about how her man had just called her 'good girl'.
"Fucking hell Naomi does he have a brother, a cousin, anything?" Mya begged
"A brother, no. Cousin, not sure but I'll find out"
"Now i understand why you couldn't help but sleep with him in first year" Leliani sighed, understanding why Naomi couldn't resist his charms
"Wait hold on, he's in hoe attire" Leilani pointed out as she pressed her head against Naomi's, looking down at the phone,
"I'm sorry what?" Naomi asked
"Hoe attire, you know, the grey joggers or grey shorts with a white vest and a chain" Leilani explained as they watched Theo staring back up at them, with a confused expression.
"Oh my fucking god he is!" Naomi laughed
"Looks like your man wanted to look good for you" mya joined as she pressed her forehead in as well, forming a triangle of the three of them looking down at the phone in the middle of them
"You do know I can read lips right?" Theo laughed through the speaker
Quickly unmuting herself, Naomi asked, using her best poker face, "what do you think we said?"
"Well I know Leilani said something about hoe attire and then Mya also said about me looking good for you"
Shit.
"You caught us!" Mya called out before Naomi could think of a lie
"I thought so, but yeah I did wanna look good for my girl" Theo confessed
"Theo stop, I'll never hear the end of this" Naomi sighed as she knew Mya and Leilani definitely picked up on him calling her 'his girl'
"Okay, okay, but can I talk to you in private, is that calm?" He asked
"Yeah, yeah I'll leave the room and go into Leilani's"
"Bye girls" Theo shouted through the speaker
"Bye Theo" Mya and Leilani sighed as they swooned over him
"So what did you want to talk about?" Naomi asked, concerned
"I opened your envelope"
Ohhh, Naomi thought. A smile came to her face as she saw the frustrated look on Theo's face.
"Fucking hell Naomi, I knew not to open it on Christmas Day because regardless of what it was I was going to want to call you, when I knew you couldn't pick up, so I waited. Then I forgot about it because we call basically everyday and then I opened it today... you are something else" he sighed
"Did you like it?" She asked
"Of course I fucking liked it. It's a Polaroid of your ass in one of the thongs I bought you, with a note saying for me to put it in my wallet so whenever I miss you I can just look at it"
Naomi hummed in response, biting her thumb at the thought of Theo's face when he saw it.
"Baby your ass looks so good in it" he confessed
"I'm sorry it couldn't of been something more, I'm broke" she apologised knowing that he had gotten her an expensive anklet and all she could give him was a Polaroid nude.
"Baby, I don't care for expensive gifts. That picture was enough. It's worth a lot more than anything you could of bought me" he husked
"Well you're welcome, how's London?" She changed the subject because she knew he was about to say some stuff to her which would mean that the FaceTime call wouldn't end anytime soon and she wouldn't be able to stay at Leilani's for any longer, she'd be making a beeline for her house to release some tension.
"It's good, but I would like it better if you were here" he sighed
"At Elijah's house, what?" She laughed
"You know what I mean, when are you heading back up to uni?" He asked
"I don't know, the girls keep complaining that they haven't seen me but I'll text you when I book my ticket"
"Okay I'll leave you to your girly catch up"
"Bye Theo"
"Bye baby"
As soon as the call was ended, Naomi smiled to herself, opening the door to Leilani's room to go back downstairs, when she found Mya and Leilani stood there with their ears to the door. As soon as they saw the door had opened they made a run for it.
"You bitches!" Naomi shouted after them, running to catch up to them.
Giving up, Mya and Leilani decided to just stop running around the house and finally settled down back in Leilani's bedroom.
"So... it looks pretty serious between you and Theo then" Leilani questioned
"I guess it is"
"So you gonna tell your mum and dad?" Mya asked
"I- uh" shit, telling the parents. Now that was a big step that her and Theo hadn't even spoken about.
"I don't know. Like my mum, you lot already know is calm with just about anything, because as she likes to say 'I can't tell you shit because I was either doing the same or worse at your age', but my dad. Ugh, my dad is another story and I know my mum will make me tell him"
"I don't get it, he's such a dick to her and yet she still tries to get me to have a father daughter relationship with him" Naomi sighed
"Oh yeah shit I remember meeting your dad back in primary school, proper Jamaican dad. I don't think-" Mya started
"...You don't think he'll approve that Theo's white, I know." Naomi finished off Mya's sentence already knowing what was coming
"But it's none of his business. He just doesn't have to know and I'll tell my mum soon, just not now, because I don't even think Theo's told his sister about me" Naomi decided. She was going to have this conversation with Theo when she got back
"His sister why not his parents?" Leilani asked
"It's a long story, but if anything I do want his parents approval, but more so his sisters, but that's a story for another day"
"Wait, so are you gonna tell your sister that you got a man?" Leilani reminded
"I should, shouldnt i?" Naomi asked remembering that her and her sister were close when they did meet up, but she never really spoke to her about boys because she didn't want her to worry about her being treated right but now she had Theo.
"Yeah, I wanna see Layla's reaction to your fine ass man" Mya laughed, as Naomi threw a pillow at her
