A car comes to a halt in front of the infamous Hyakuya Orphanage where those with nowhere to go can find a new family even before finding adoptive parents. A true paradise for orphans... or so, that is shown.
"Hey!! Lemme go, you old fart!!" A black-haired kid yells after being taken out of the vehicle.
"You don't have to tell me twice." A slim, tall man replies, still releasing the young boy from his tight grasp on his scarf.
"After all, you've arrived at your new home." He finishes, holding the kid off the ground as he struggles and looks up in anger.
"I don't have a home!" He yells out.
"True. Your old home did go up in flames. Not to mention you are now so hated, even your own parents tried to kill you." The man cruelly replies with no remorse.
The kid glares, having been silenced by the sentence.
"But it's all okay now. In this Orphanage, you'll find friends who're just as unwanted as you are. You'll have a big, new family."
Finally breaking free, the child crosses his arms and wraps himself in his warmth as the snow falls on his warm clothing.
"Hmph! I don't need any stupid 'family'."
"Needed or not, this will be your new home. It's the only place you can live in. Welcome... to the Hyakuya Orphanage... Yuuichiro Amane."
•Present/Sanguinem•
Children run around, playing with each underneath Kyoto, in the underground Vampire Capital.
Meanwhile, a thirsty, blood-craving vampire hides in the shadows, watching.
"Blood..." He breathes out, unable to think of anything else.
Before he can lose control, a hand sneaks onto his shoulder, bringing his attention to the high-ranked vampire.
"You're thirsty, aren't you? Why don't you quench your thirst for once?" Ferid begins with an evil smile, hiding bad intentions.
Although, Mika stays silent, fighting his instinctive urges.
"Because you have yet to drink human blood... your body still ages. Yet, you are still the age that I find most beautiful... just barely anyways." Ferid continues, watching the younger 'livestock' with an eagle eye.
A boy with light hair runs past the violet vampire at an unfortunate time, as Ferid yanks him away from his friends, and holds him in front of Mika, watching the two struggle.
Ferid digs a sharp claw into the boy's neck, letting blood drip.
"How about drinking human blood... and halting your growth at its best spot? You'll feel much better."
"Urk! Ngh..." Mika mutters, watching the fresh, oozing, red blood slowly lean down the boy's neck.
Mika, in turn, refuses the dying urge to give into the vampire side of his life. He grabs Ferid's wrist, making Ferid drop the boy into the ground.
"Let the boy go. Drinking directly from a human is against vampire law." Mika says.
"Aha! Aren't we the serious one. Oh, well."
The boy glares at the two vampires, running away while carrying the disgust of being ruled over by them.
Mika watches the kid, reminded of his siblings, (Y/n) and Yuuichiro, who looked at vampires the same way as the poor victim.
"Why do you try so hard to avoid drinking human blood? Don't tell me it's because you hold out hope that one day... you can be turned back into a human?" Ferid ridicules Mika.
"Get lost, Bathory." Mika responds, closely with his back turned to the older vampire.
"Or maybe... you're afraid? Do you think your beloved Yuu and (N/n) would hate you for drinking human blood?"
And with that, Ferid leaves behind his lingering words.

"Hff... Hff... Damn it. I need blood. I need Krul's blood, now." Mika breathes out, trying hard not to snap.
He stumbles through the city to find the one he desired the blood of, finding her in the typical spot. Her throne room.
Mika strides into the room, sweat rolling down his face, and breathing unsteadily.
"Oh, Mika. You're here. I thought you might be running low on blood soon." The young-looking vampire smiles as she pours blood into a tube, from her slit wrist.
"What perfect timing. I'm making another vial-"
She's interrupted by the blood-thirsty cries made by Mika as she's yanked towards him, with a small squeal.
The vial breaks, splashing the blood across the floor.
Mika bites into the Vampire Queen's neck, lifting her up to reach him.
"Ah, I see. You were that thirsty. Sheesh, you're such a handful, aren't you?"
Mika's eyes widen, coming back to senses. He shoves Krul away, caught up in the situation.
"Oh... I-I'm sorry, Krul. I lost control." Mika panics, wiping his mouth of any spilt blood.
"As I saw. Are you yourself again, now?" Krul's asks.
"Yeah, I'm better. Sorry."
"It's okay. Anyone would do as you did, if parched for blood. Unlike humans, a vampire desires only blood."
"Given all that, do you think you could... please give me a slightly bigger stock of it?" Mika turns away from Krul, embarrasses to ask.
However, Krul smiles kindly.
"Well, you've already broken one vial... because you were so rough with me."

"Well..." Krul continues, "Report. You were part of the attack on the Shinjuku humans. What happened?"
"About that. I think you owe me an explanation. That Progenitor Council meeting the other day. What were you all talking about?" Mika works up the courage to ask.
Krul's eyes slim and her eyebrows furrow, clearly annoyed by the question.
•Flashback/The Progenitor Meeting•
Ferid Bathory stands in the middle of the room, facing several screens, and standing before Krul as Mika stands on the side.

"𝙴𝚗𝚘𝚞𝚐𝚑 𝚏𝚘𝚛𝚖𝚊𝚕𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚎𝚜. 𝙼𝚊𝚔𝚎 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚛𝚎𝚙𝚘𝚛𝚝 𝚘𝚗 𝚠𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚑𝚊𝚙𝚙𝚎𝚗𝚎𝚍 𝚒𝚗 𝚂𝚑𝚒𝚗𝚓𝚞𝚔𝚞... 𝙵𝚎𝚛𝚒𝚍 𝙱𝚊𝚝𝚑𝚘𝚛𝚢." One Progenitor demands, baring his fangs.
"Well then, allow me to explain what happened. I have already handed in a written report that recounts most details, if you would care to glance at it. But if I were to summarise... humans are horrible." Ferid starts as Krul sits on her throne, watching blankly.
"Humans are a defective race, driven by greed... to delve yet again into research on forbidden subjects. That is the gist of it, at least. Now, if you would please turn your attention to this video..."
A new hologram screen displays a video of Yuu going crazy during the battle of Shinjuku, where the monster inside him took over for a short period of time.
Mika watches, trying to keep a straight face, attempting to twist into anger. That is until Yuu cries loudly and painfully after being hit with an attack from (Y/n). Mika, unable to hide it, shows his worry.
The video ends, leaving doubt to spiral among the Progenitor council.
"Wh-What was that?"
"That looked almost like..."
"If they manage to stabilise that thing, the world will-"
"They have one of-"
"Ladies and gentlemen. I know how you must feel... but if I may please have your attention." Ferid spreads his arms wide and faces the entire council.
"What you fear is correct. The humans have once again delved into that forbidden magic... and are on the verge of successfully weaponising the Seraph of the end! This is a very grave problem for all vampire-kind. They have a half-vampire and an incomplete Seraph of the End on their side, building up their empire."
"𝙷𝚘𝚠 𝚌𝚊𝚗 𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚜 𝚋𝚎? 𝚃𝚑𝚒𝚛𝚍 𝙿𝚛𝚘𝚐𝚎𝚗𝚒𝚝𝚘𝚛 𝙺𝚛𝚞𝚕 𝚃𝚎𝚙𝚎𝚜 𝚏𝚘𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚍 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚙𝚕𝚊𝚗... 𝚠𝚑𝚎𝚗 𝚜𝚑𝚎 𝚍𝚎𝚜𝚝𝚛𝚘𝚢𝚎𝚍 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝙷𝚢𝚊𝚔𝚞𝚢𝚊 𝚂𝚎𝚌𝚝 𝚒𝚗 𝙹𝚊𝚙𝚊𝚗." A Fourth Progenitor expresses their worry.
"𝚃𝚘 𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚗𝚔 𝚊 𝚟𝚊𝚖𝚙𝚒𝚛𝚎 𝚖𝚊𝚢 𝚑𝚊𝚟𝚎 𝚌𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚝𝚎𝚍 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚑𝚊𝚕𝚏𝚕𝚒𝚗𝚐... 𝚆𝚎 𝚖𝚞𝚜𝚝 𝚐𝚎𝚝 𝚛𝚒𝚍 𝚘𝚏 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚖!" Another Progenitor suggests.
"Correct. Eight years ago, I eliminated the entire Hyakuya Sect. Every last one of the guinea pigs in the Hyakuya Orphanage... who bore the Seraph gene... I killed them with my own hands. As for the halfling... they were an experiment by another facility, who went by the name 'Lamda-7124'. They no longer exist after the incident 8 years ago." Krul affirms, letting doubt die down. Well, almost all doubt.
Mika looks at Krul with sweat rolling down his face, and shock and fear breaking through.
"Oh, how interesting! To think Lady Krul knew about an experimental facility that successfully created a half-vampire! And! She was under orders to do such a thing to those Seraphs? I had no idea! So... you destroyed all of them by hand? Really." Ferid says, slightly looking at Mika.
"I did." She affirms once more.
"I see. I see. How interesting."
"𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚗 𝚑𝚘𝚠 𝚑𝚊𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚑𝚞𝚖𝚊𝚗𝚜' 𝚛𝚎𝚜𝚎𝚊𝚛𝚌𝚑 𝚊𝚍𝚟𝚊𝚗𝚌𝚎𝚍 𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚜 𝚏𝚊𝚛? 𝚂𝚎𝚝𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚊𝚜𝚒𝚍𝚎 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚑𝚊𝚕𝚏𝚕𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚏𝚘𝚛 𝚗𝚘𝚠, 𝚊𝚜𝚒𝚍𝚎 𝚏𝚛𝚘𝚖 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝙷𝚢𝚊𝚔𝚞𝚢𝚊 𝚂𝚎𝚌𝚝, 𝚒𝚝 𝚠𝚊𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚘𝚞𝚐𝚑𝚝 𝚗𝚘 𝚘𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝚘𝚛𝚐𝚊𝚗𝚒𝚜𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗 𝚒𝚗 𝙹𝚊𝚙𝚊𝚗 𝚑𝚊𝚍 𝚖𝚊𝚍𝚎 𝚊𝚗𝚢 𝚜𝚒𝚐𝚗𝚒𝚏𝚒𝚌𝚊𝚗𝚝 𝚙𝚛𝚘𝚐𝚛𝚎𝚜𝚜." A Second Progenitor accuses.
"True, but humans have become harder to take lightly these days. In fact, in Europe... yet another league of spellcasters was experimenting with the Seraph of the End, correct?" Ferid asks.
"𝙸 𝚍𝚎𝚜𝚝𝚛𝚘𝚢𝚎𝚍 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚖 𝚖𝚢𝚜𝚎𝚕𝚏. 𝙷𝚘𝚠𝚎𝚟𝚎𝚛, 𝚒𝚏 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚑𝚊𝚟𝚎 𝚖𝚒𝚜𝚑𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚕𝚎𝚍 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚖𝚊𝚗𝚊𝚐𝚎𝚖𝚎𝚗𝚝 𝚘𝚏 𝙹𝚊𝚙𝚊𝚗... 𝙺𝚛𝚞𝚕... 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚗 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚠𝚒𝚕𝚕 𝚋𝚎𝚊𝚛 𝚊 𝚑𝚎𝚊𝚟𝚢 𝚋𝚞𝚛𝚍𝚎𝚗 𝚘𝚏 𝚛𝚎𝚜𝚙𝚘𝚗𝚜𝚒𝚋𝚒𝚕𝚒𝚝𝚢 𝚏𝚘𝚛 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚏𝚊𝚒𝚕𝚞𝚛𝚎." Lest Karr, Third Progenitor, says with all seriousness.
"Silence, Lest Karr! Are you picking a fight with me?" Krul yells out to him.
"𝙸 𝚖𝚊𝚢 𝚋𝚎. 𝙸𝚏 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚍𝚞𝚝𝚒𝚎𝚜 𝚊𝚛𝚎 𝚝𝚘𝚘 𝚐𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚝 𝚏𝚘𝚛 𝚢𝚘𝚞... 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚗 𝙸 𝚠𝚘𝚞𝚕𝚍 𝚋𝚎 𝚖𝚘𝚛𝚎 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚗 𝚑𝚊𝚙𝚙𝚢 𝚝𝚘 𝚝𝚊𝚔𝚎 𝚘𝚟𝚎𝚛 𝚊𝚜 𝙺𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚘𝚏 𝙹𝚊𝚙𝚊𝚗." He says.
"Silence, child. Remember your place." Krul growls at the German Vampire King.
"'𝙲𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚍'? 𝙰𝚑𝚊𝚑𝚊! 𝙸 𝚊𝚖 𝚊 𝚖𝚎𝚛𝚎 𝚝𝚠𝚘 𝚌𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚞𝚛𝚒𝚎𝚜 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚗𝚐𝚎𝚛 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚗 𝚢𝚘𝚞. 𝙰𝚗𝚍 𝚋𝚎𝚜𝚒𝚍𝚎𝚜, 𝚠𝚑𝚎𝚗 𝚒𝚝 𝚌𝚘𝚖𝚎𝚜 𝚝𝚘 𝚙𝚘𝚠𝚎𝚛, 𝙸'𝚖 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚜𝚝𝚛𝚘𝚗𝚐𝚎𝚛 𝚘𝚗𝚎-" Lest goes off.
"𝙼'𝙻𝚘𝚛𝚍, 𝙼'𝙻𝚊𝚍𝚢, 𝚙𝚕𝚎𝚊𝚜𝚎 𝚌𝚊𝚕𝚖 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛𝚜𝚎𝚕𝚟𝚎𝚜. 𝚆𝚎𝚕𝚕 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚗, 𝙻𝚊𝚍𝚢 𝙺𝚛𝚞𝚕 𝚍𝚎𝚜𝚝𝚛𝚘𝚢𝚎𝚍 𝚎𝚟𝚎𝚛𝚢 𝚕𝚊𝚜𝚝 𝚑𝚞𝚖𝚊𝚗 𝚌𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚍 𝚠𝚑𝚘 𝚋𝚘𝚛𝚎 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚂𝚎𝚛𝚊𝚙𝚑 𝚐𝚎𝚗𝚎 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚐𝚘𝚝 𝚛𝚒𝚍 𝚘𝚏 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚏𝚊𝚌𝚒𝚕𝚒𝚝𝚢 𝚝𝚘 𝚙𝚛𝚎𝚟𝚎𝚗𝚝 𝚖𝚘𝚛𝚎 𝚎𝚡𝚙𝚎𝚛𝚒𝚖𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚜. 𝚃𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚒𝚜 𝚘𝚏𝚏𝚒𝚌𝚒𝚊𝚕 𝚒𝚗 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚎𝚢𝚎𝚜 𝚘𝚏 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝙲𝚘𝚞𝚗𝚌𝚒𝚕, 𝚌𝚘𝚛𝚛𝚎𝚌𝚝?" Another Progenitor says to keep peace and avoid disarray.
"I do not fail. Ever." Krul confirms for the last time.
"If Lady Krul says so, then it must be true. Now then, how will we deal with the humans and the halfling herself?" Ferid asks.
"Our official stance will not change. We will deploy our full army... and kill every human and the vampire child who stands under the banner of the Japanese Imperial Demon Army!" Krul announces, taking a dramatic stand.
"𝙴𝚡𝚌𝚎𝚕𝚕𝚎𝚗𝚝. 𝚃𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚠𝚒𝚕𝚕 𝚍𝚘. 𝙱𝚎𝚐𝚒𝚗 𝚊𝚝 𝚘𝚗𝚌𝚎. 𝙱𝚢 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚠𝚊𝚢, 𝙵𝚎𝚛𝚒𝚍 𝙱𝚊𝚝𝚑𝚘𝚛𝚢. 𝚆𝚑𝚘 𝚒𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚌𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚍 𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚋𝚎𝚑𝚒𝚗𝚍 𝚢𝚘𝚞?" Someone asks.
Krul looks wide-eyed to Mika while Ferid looks calm and unchanged.
"Him, M'Lord? He is my most favourite servant as of late. I can't bear to have him leave my side." Ferid smile.
"𝙷𝚊𝚟𝚎 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚕𝚘𝚜𝚝 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚖𝚒𝚗𝚍?! 𝚃𝚑𝚒𝚜 𝚒𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝙿𝚛𝚘𝚐𝚎𝚗𝚒𝚝𝚘𝚛 𝙲𝚘𝚞𝚗𝚌𝚒𝚕! 𝚄𝚗𝚍𝚎𝚛 𝚗𝚘𝚛𝚖𝚊𝚕 𝚌𝚒𝚛𝚌𝚞𝚖𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚗𝚌𝚎𝚜, 𝚊𝚕𝚕 𝚝𝚑𝚘𝚜𝚎 𝚛𝚊𝚗𝚔𝚎𝚍 𝚕𝚘𝚠𝚎𝚛 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚗 𝚜𝚒𝚡𝚝𝚑 𝚙𝚛𝚘𝚐𝚎𝚗𝚒𝚝𝚘𝚛 𝚊𝚛𝚎 𝚋𝚊𝚛𝚛𝚎𝚍-"
"𝚂𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚗𝚌𝚎. 𝙷𝚒𝚜 𝚏𝚕𝚒𝚐𝚑𝚝𝚜 𝚘𝚏 𝚎𝚌𝚌𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚛𝚒𝚌𝚒𝚝𝚢 𝚊𝚛𝚎 𝚗𝚘𝚝 𝚊 𝚛𝚎𝚌𝚎𝚗𝚝 𝚍𝚎𝚟𝚎𝚕𝚘𝚙𝚎𝚖𝚎𝚗𝚝." The Progenitor interrupts the previous one.
"Oh, but I am always very serious about everything. Aren't I, Lady Krul?"
Krul only glares at the Seventh Progenitor.
"𝙸𝚏 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚒𝚜 𝚊𝚕𝚕... 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚗 𝙸 𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎𝚋𝚢 𝚌𝚘𝚗𝚌𝚕𝚞𝚍𝚎 𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚜 𝚜𝚎𝚜𝚜𝚒𝚘𝚗 𝚘𝚏 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝙲𝚘𝚞𝚗𝚌𝚒𝚕."
All the Progenitors begin to log off, one by one.
"Bastard. What the hell do you think you are doing?" Krul begins, confronting Ferid.
"Me?" Ferid answers, sarcastically.
"Why did you bring Mikaela here? And that video you showed... Are you trying to dethrone me...?"
"Never! Why, if I tried that in this city... you would have killed me in an instant!" Ferid laughs off the tension.
Krul, in anger, swipes her arm, destroying the ground.
"I could kill you right now." Krul growls at him.
"Eep! How scary! But... you can't. Not anymore. If I die now, you will the first one everyone will suspect. No, you've been unable to kill me for some time. After all... I might have been playing for my secrets to reach the Progenitor Council upon my death. Who would've thought that the Vampire Queen... has stained her hands with the taboo of the Seraph of the End? What could Her Majesty possibly want with something like that?" Ferid goes off on a long monologue.
Krul glares harshly at the violet vampire, almost as if trying to kill him with looks.
"Ahaha! Please, don't glare at me with that adorable face. It makes my heart flutter. Of course, it is my fault that little Yuu and (N/n) escaped. If they discover that, I will face even worse punishment... Oh, wait! Wait, wait! Then doesn't that mean... You and I are actually partners in crime? We share the same secret, after all. Yay! Now we can finally be friends! Take my hand. Submit to me... Krul Tepes."
Silence echoes through the grand hall, with anger simmering from Krul and Mika silently witnessing the scene play out.
"Just kidding! Anyway, I think that's enough for today. I'd hate to be wrong and wind up dead. But I'll be back later." He say, pushing Mika towards Krul.
"Next time, we'll be the best of friends!" Ferid smiles before taking a glorious leave.
•Flashback End•
"The humans... No, the people who ran our orphanages... were using me and Yuu as guinea pigs in their experiments. That's what you told me. You said they were horrible experiments that would destroy the world... so you came in and saved us. Right?" Mika asks, as Krul looks away from the young vampire. He continues.
"But according to the council... you were supposed to kill us. So why let us live? It jeopardises your position. What in the world... do you want with us? I mean, (N/n)... is half-vampire...?" Mika glares at the petite, old vampire queen, fearing her response.
"That... is something you do not need to know." She replies, clearly angering Mika as he yells at her.
"Don't toy with me!! If you're trying to use Yuu and (N/n) for your own ends, then-"
"Then what? What could you possibly do to me?" She challenges, reaching out her arm and grabbing Mika's fist. She clenches it, causing immense pain.
She brings Mika to his knees while he tries to take his fist back however, it's pointless.
"I can easily extinguish a life as puny as yours. Behind that, you are dependent on my blood. How could you possible defy me? Are you going to say you'd rather die than be my tool? What would happen to Yuu or (N/n), who's been used by those foul humans? Will you abandon them?" Krul slowly looses her hand, but not letting him go easily.
"The countries that have experimented with the Seraph of the End are one thing... but human foulness is not limited to any individual or group. Will you abandon Yuu and (N/n) to their fate?"
"But you're just as terrible. I can't follow you anymore." Mika says, in pain.
"Goodness, how selfish. Didn't I already tell you that you can't defy me? And besides, I am not that terrible. I like you and your friends, Yuu and (N/n)."
"I can't trust that-"
"Believe it. If it weren't for me, all of you would have died years ago in Shinjuku. I am your saviour... Your surrogate parent... your owner. If you really want to know... then I will tell you why I spared your lives. And why I need the Seraph of the End and our little vampire halfling." Krul allows.
"Wha...?"
She brings Mika closer, and whispers in his ears, watching his eyes widen at the despairing news.
"Are you serious...?!" Mika panics, backing away from her finally.
"A very good question. Well, then, now that I have finished appraising my self-centred, little son... I suppose I shall go about my orders from the Council. It is time we deployed our true army... to massacre all of the humans in Japan. Let the vampire-human war begin."

"You, Mika... will conveniently get 'lost' in all that fuss. Hide from both vampires and humans... and use that opportunity to find Yuu and (N/n). Go find your family members. Understood?" Krul commands.
"Understood. I'll save Yuu and (N/n) from both humans and vampires."

"Do you know the plan?" Krul asks, not facing the cloaked visitor.
"Of course, we went over this the other day. I am to bring (Y/n) Gracefield to your protection during the great battle while Mikaela is distracted with his little Yuu." The cloaked figure says in a sleek, male voice.
"...Excellent. Now leave before she notices you're gone." Krul dismisses him, turning to face him as the cloak falls to reveal a lock of purple hair vanishing with the figure.
"Goodbye, Sister."
