LISA POV
3 MONTHS LATER
Timothy and I have been hitting it off for the past few months. We've bonded, got to know each other a bit more. He makes me feels safe and sound. But anyway, Timothy and I one day discussed something.
"So Timothy," I asked.
"Yes, baby?"
"We've been dating for a while now; I think it's time, you know, I meet your parents," I suggested.
"Umm.....yeah, we could set up a date with them; I haven't seen them in a while," he replied. "Let me call them up."
TIMOTHY POV
(PHONE CALL)
Timothy's Mom: Hello
Timothy: Mom
Timothy's Mom: Oh hello, how are you, dear
Timothy: I'm good, Mom
Timothy's Mom: So what does my son want
Timothy: Well, actually, I was wondering if I could visit the house sometime this week
Timothy's Mom: Oh, of course, I just need to clean up around the house a bit, does this Friday sound good.
Timothy: Let me check
"Hey babe, does this Friday sound good," I said away from the phone.
"Yeah, sure," Lisa replied.
Timothy: Yeah, Mom, Friday sounds good.
Timothy's Mom: Okay perfect, your father will be back home around that time
Timothy: Thank you
Timothy's Mom: Sweetie, one more thing
Timothy: Yes, Mom?
Timothy's Mom: I heard a female in the background, is something up
Timothy: No, Mom, nothing
Timothy's Mom: Timothy!!
Timothy: Okay, Mom, um....my girlfriend was wondering could come, she would like to meet you.
Timothy's Mom: You have a girlfriend?
Timothy: Mom, I'm sorry I didn't tell you.
Timothy's Mom: WELL, WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY SO? I WAS HOPING ONE DAY MY SON WOULD BRING A NICE FEMALE BACK HOME!!!
Timothy: So does that mean she can come
Timothy's Mom: Of course, I would be mad if you didn't bring her actually
Timothy: *chuckle* okay, Mom by, see you soon
Timothy's Mom: By sweetie
(END OF CALL)
"So what did your mom say," Lisa replied.
"She said it was okay," I said.
"Oh, really, I thought your mom was mad, you know, when she was yelling a bit," Lisa said.
"Yeah, she yelled at me if I didn't bring you," I said.
*Lisa giggles*
"So, how are your parents," Lisa asked.
"They are cool, my Mom is the best Mom ever, and well, my dad, I look up to him. My dad is a hard worker for a big company," I said.
"Well, your dad must be a busy man," Lisa said.
"But what makes me look up to him is he still manages to find time for me with all his hard work; it's not one of those dads who are busy with international work and doesn't have time with their kids," I explained to her.
"By the way is your dad coming," Lisa asked.
"Yeah, my mom said he'll be back," I replied.
FRIDAY
LISA POV
Timothy drove us to his parent's house and pulled up in the driveway.
"You ready to meet them," Timothy asked them.
"Yes, I've been looking forward to meeting them this week," I said.
"Okay, well, let's go," then we both got out of the car.
I held his hand as he led me up the steps to his house.
*DING DING*
*door opens*
"Oh Timothy," his Mom opened the door.
"Hi, mom," Timothy went to go and hug her.
"It's so good to see you," she said.
"You too."
Finally, they broke the hug, and his Mom noticed me.
"So dear, this is your girlfriend," his Mom looked at me.
"Hi," I replied.
Immediately his Mom greeted me with a hug. His Mom seems so sweet.
"What's your name dear," she asked me.
"My name is Lisa," I replied.
"Lisa, what a lovely name," his Mom complimented.
"Oh, thank you."
"Come in, both of you," then we followed her in.
His parents had a nice place. Very classy.
"Mom is dad home yet," Timothy asked.
"Yes, he is just getting ready upstairs; it should be soon. Come you too; I have made dinner already," she said.
We made our way to the dining table, and she brought over some hot ramen, fried rice, spicy chicken with Himalayan spices.
"Wow, this looks amazing," I said.
"I hope you like it," his Mom said.
We heard footsteps coming down the stairways.
"Oh, that must be dad," his Mom said.
His dad walked into the dining room.
"Timothy," he said.
"Dad," Timothy got up and hugged him.
"How are you," he asked.
"I'm good," Timothy replied.
"And you must be his girlfriend," his dad finally looked at me.
"Hi, I'm Lisa; nice to meet you," I held out his hand.
Once the 4 of us were all at the dinner table, we began to eat.
"So Lisa," his Mom started a conversation.
"Yes?"
"How did you and Timothy meet," she asked.
"Well, actually, we sat next to each other at a bus stop where we exchanged numbers. Timothy began seeing me at work, and that's when we started to date," I said.
"Where do you work, by the way, Lisa," his dad asked.
"I work at the cafe downtown," I replied.
"The famous one," his Mom sounded shocked.
"Yeah, what about it," I asked.
"Well, it must be very busy most of the time; I can't imagine working there. Timothy here gets to sit in an office all day and do nothing," his Mom teased him.
"Mom," Timothy groaned.
*chuckles*
"Well, you must be a charming woman, Lisa," his dad said.
"Thank you," I smiled.
His parents are sweet. After dinner, we put our dishes away, and his Mom showed me around the house. She brought out a photo album showing me Timothy when he was younger.
"Mom, that photo is embarrassing, Timothy said as his Mom showed a picture of him taking a bath as a baby.
"What, it's cute," his Mom said.
"Yes, babe, you look adorable in that photo," I teased him.
After a while, it was time for Timothy and me to go back home. I said one final goodbye to his parents before we left.
"Bye, it was nice meeting you," his parents said.
"Lovely meeting you too," and then we left.
When the both of us got back in the car, Timothy started to the car and pulled out of the driveway, then back to the road.
"Your parents are nice," I said.
"You like them," he asked?
"I like your parents," I replied.
"Well, since you met my parents, I think I should meet your parents," Timothy suggested.
"Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....................
