"Good Morning, Sunshine!!" Harry grinned, bursting into Draco's bedroom at the crack of dawn with a tray of breakfast in his hands. He still had bed-hair from the night before, strands of brunette locks bouncing in every direction. He wore his usual baggy 'H' initial jumper and sweatpants as well as ridiculous fluffy brown slippers
"Merlin, Harry. What time is it?" Draco muttered, half drooling into his pillow at the sudden wake up call
"6:30" Harry beamed, placing the tray on the end of the bed cautiously
"6:30? You woke me up at 6:30 on my birthday?? I am actually going to kill you for that when I wake up more" Draco moaned
"Someone's a little grumpy this morning!" Harry teased
"It's my birthday, I'm allowed to be grumpy"
"Drama queen" Harry tutted "Look, I brought you breakfast!"
Draco rolled back over and opened one eye at the tray sat by his feet, then closed it again and slumped back onto his pillow
"Come on! I made it extra special for you!" Harry chirped, shaking Draco's leg excitedly
Draco groaned, pushing himself up onto his elbows and sat back against the headboard, rubbing his eyes tiredly as Harry placed the tray in front of him. Draco opened his eyes once more to see a plate with a stack of pancakes piled high, it was decorated in the style of a smiley face, with strawberry eyes and a whipped cream smile
"Oh my god..." Draco exhaled at the plate of pancakes smiling up at him
"Happy Birthday!" Harry beamed. He squashed onto the side of the bed next to him
"You made it into a smiley face? What am I, five years old?"
"You're never too old for smiley pancakes, Draco." Harry laughed, grinning with pride
"I'm nineteen today, Harry"
"I know, and that's why you wake up to your favourite breakfast, which I know is pancakes because I am the best boyfriend ever" Harry grinned smugly "So either shut up and eat your pancakes or you'll be wearing your pancakes!" he smiled through gritted teeth
"Oh you would love to eat whipped cream off of me, don't deny it" Draco winked
"Maybe I would" Harry teased
Draco broke his act of pretending to be irritable and cracked a smile, picking up his fork and stabbing a strawberry eagerly
"Thank you for this" he smiled
"Sorry for waking you so early, I had to get down to the kitchens before anyone saw me" Harry explained, stealing a piece of strawberry
"Did anyone see you?"
"Filch" Harry rolled his eyes "Tried to chase me up the stairs but I threw a pancake at him"
Draco almost chocked on his food "You did what??"
"Ah he was fine! It was like a frisbee! Went right over his head and hit the wall instead"
"So there's a rouge pancake somewhere in the castle?" Draco asked, bursting into laughter along with Harry who was nodding at the incident
"See! The trouble I go through for you" Harry teased, nudging Draco
"What are you wearing on your feet?" Draco asked, looking disgustingly down at Harry's slippers
"Oh these?" Harry kicked his leg up pulling one slipper on the bed "Hagrid made them for me for Christmas, they're funky aren't they"
"Draco chewed the rest of his pancake, looking down at Harry's slippers with wide eyes, he swallowed and gave a pitiful smile "They're... um...."
"Hideous, I know" Harry laughed "But i knew you hate them so I thought it would be funny to wear them around you"
"Oh, gee, thanks!"
"You're welcome, it's my job as your loving boyfriend to tease and embarrass you" Harry gushed, loving getting on Draco's nerves
"Great, I'll remember that when It comes to you picking out a suit for the graduation ball" Draco said
"Pick whatever you want, I look good in everything baby" Harry winked, tossing another strawberry in his mouth and smiling smugly at Draco
"Come here, I want to kiss you" Draco said
Harry smiled and leant in, closing his eyes to meet Draco is a perfect kiss until he felt a cool hand connect with his cheek, smearing whipped cream across Harry's face. Harry gasped at the unexpected touch on his cheek and Draco burst out laughing
"You did not just do that!" Harry gasped, his tone was sharp but he was laughing underneath at Draco being so sneaky, dragging his finger through the cream on his cheek and licking it off
"It's too early to be as cocky as you're being, I needed to take you down a peg or two" Draco teased, taking another bite of pancake
"I look good in whipped cream too" Harry joked, raising an eyebrow and pouting playfully at Draco, purposefully winding him up
"Oh shut up!" Draco laughed, lobbing his pillow at Harry as it hit him square in the head and he tumbled off the bed onto the floor. Draco began howling with laughter as Harry crawled up from the floor, his glasses askew on his nose
"I'll allow that only because it's your birthday" Harry smiled

Harry and Draco entered the common room later that morning after returning from breakfast to find their friends all huddled together in the centre of the room holding gifts and cake
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"
Draco froze at the door in shock "Wh-what is all of this?"
"It's your birthday, you melon" Blaise said
Pansy darted forward and grabbed Draco's wrist excitedly, dragging him into the centre of the room "Come on, you! We wanted to do something special for you"
"But... why?"
"Is he dumb?" Ron asked receiving a nudge from Hermione
"Because we're amazing friends now stop questioning us and sit" Pansy scoffed, forcing Draco down onto the sofa with both her hands. Harry came over and joined them, taking a place cosily next to Draco as the others sat around on the bean bags
"Pansy and I tried making you a cake... but... it seems that magic baking is actually a lot trickier than muggle baking" Hermione stated, holding out a lop-sided cake with yellow icing and the words "Happy 19th!" bleeding into the frosting becoming barely readable. Pieces of chocolate poked out from the sides and cherries splattered across the top haphazardly "Sorry it's such a mess"
Draco took it and placed it on his lap, laughing at the terrible decoration but adoring the thought behind it "I-I love it guys, really. I've never had a cake before"
Everyone's eyes went wide with surprise "Never?" Harry asked
Draco shook his head, oblivious to the sympathetic looks he was getting across the group, he was too engrossed in his first ever birthday cake to notice
"Well, now you have one" Hermione smiled sweetly
"and I will be taking a nice big slice if you don't mind" Ron added
"Ron!"
"What? I did help bake it!"
"You stood to the side and complained that we weren't adding enough chocolate every five minutes" Pansy pointed out
"Someone cut Ron a piece before he starts shaking" Harry teased
"Ugh, anyway we have gifts too!" Pansy beamed, holding out a small blue gift bag
"Wow guys... you really didn't need to do all of this" Draco gushed taking the gift bag and opening it up. He pulled out a little black box and opened the lid to reveal a small silver pair of cuff links with snakes engraved on them, their eyes were tiny emerald gems and they were both engraved with D.M. on the back
Draco looked back to Pansy and Blaise who were nervously smiling, anticipating his reaction
"Wow these are so nice! Where did you find them?"
"We saw them down in the jewellery shop in Hogsmede and instantly thought of you" Pansy explained
"We thought you'd appreciate the snakes, after all you've always been a proud Slytherin" Blaise added
"and we figured you could wear them at the graduation ball in a few weeks too" Pansy smiled
Draco placed the cuff links back in the box and went over to hug Pansy and Blaise, the three of them squished together in an embrace
"I love you guys, really. Thank you"
"We know" Blaise winked as they released, exchanging smiles
"I just did not expect this at all" Draco said in disbelief as he returned to the sofa, Harry placed a hand on his leg and they turned to face each other
"So, I do have something for you... but I'm still sort of in the process of getting it" Harry grimaced, feeling bad for not preparing better for his special day
"Harry you didn't have to get me anything... having you is enough" Draco smiled
"Well, I think you'll like what I've got planned, but it'll take a while to get it for you" Harry smiled, but Draco silenced him with a peck on the cheek
"We have something too" Hermione chirped up, holding out a big parcel wrapped with paper and string
"Seriously? You two as well?" Draco looked at Hermione and Ron surprised at this act of generosity
"We don't hate you that much, Draco" Hermione winked
"I didn't really have any say in it to be honest" Ron moaned, but Draco knew from his previous heart to heart with Ron that he wasn't really as bitter as he made out to be. He smiled and took the parcel, unwrapping it carefully
He passed the string to Harry and pulled back the paper, opening it up and pulling out a green hand-knitted woolly jumper with a yellow 'D' embroidered in the centre. As he held it up into view, a small piece of parchment fell onto his lap. He unfolded the letter apprehensively, the entire room had gone silent with anticipation, as Draco felt nervous about what was written below
Draco,
Happy 19th Birthday, dear
Ronald and Hermione mentioned to us that you have found yourself in a warm, loving relationship with Harry, who as I'm sure you know, is like a son to us too
They informed us that you have come a long way from the troubles you previously faced growing up, that you have shown true remorse for your behaviour and that this year has been a real turning point for you
Harry is very important to us, we have welcomed him into our family as one of our own and so we are writing to you to extend our blessing for your relationship, we are so pleased that the two of you have found one another and are blissfully happy
Any partner of Harry, will always be welcomed with open arms into our family

Draco was totally speechless. Holding the letter in front of him, he felt tears welling in his eyes at the gesture
"Well, what does it say?" Harry asked, peering across as Draco looked him straight in the eyes with fresh tears
Harry took the letter and read it, looking back at Draco with the same expression of surprise once he was done. They then both turned to Ron and Hermione, unable to form words
"We thought you might like it" Hermione said softly
"I-I- don't know what to say" Draco breathed
"You don't need to say anything... Happy Birthday Draco" she hushed
Draco looked across to Pansy and Blaise who both grinned with excitement and he assumed they already knew what was written on the letter
"You've finally got your own Mrs Weasley original!" Ron exclaimed
"Welcome to the club!" Harry laughed, wrapping his arm around Draco and squeezing him close "No more stealing mine"
"Oh no, this ones all mine, you're not taking it" Draco joked, grabbing his new jumper and pulling it over his head, adjusting the sleeves and looking down at it as it fit him perfectly
"Actually, can I put in an order for a new one? Mine's got lots of holes now" Harry asked
"Mum doesn't take orders" Ron laughed
"I thought you we're fine with your holes! You said you'd wear it down to the last thread!" Hermione pointed out
"Well that was before I saw Draco's brand new one and now I'm jealous" he teased "you look adorable in knitted jumpers by the way, far better than expensive designer silk"
"That's because it's a Molly Weasley original and they're extremely rare to find" Draco joked
The group broke off into separate conversation, Seamus, Dean and Neville explaining that they'd each buy Draco a drink next time they were down in Hogsmede. Pansy cut the cake into slices and handed it out to the others, Ron's eyes lit up at the chocolate deliciousness presented before him. Draco finally caught up to him and Hermione, taking them to one side away from the others
He held up the letter "This is unbelievably thoughtful" Draco said, feeling guilty at the huge gesture when he felt he hadn't earned it at all
"You deserve a fresh start, Draco" Hermione said, placing a hand on his shoulder
"and you deserve to have a family that cares for you" Ron said, finally breaking his reluctance and showing a spec of warmth for a change "Don't get me wrong I'm still pissed that I have to see you all the bloody time now"
They all shared a laugh and Draco looked down at the letter in his hands "It's too much, guys. Really, I was so awful to your family before, my father was awful too. How on earth are your family ok with me being around?"
Hermione and Ron shared a look and turned back to him "We explained everything, how different you've been this year. Your apologies, your changed behaviour, your changed views and how remorseful you are now" Hermione shared
"Plus, they always ask about Harry, anyone would think he's their favourite child!" Ron rolled his eyes "We told them about your relationship and how much Harry loved you"
"They're so happy for you both" Hermione added
"It's sickening really" Ron joked, receiving a nudge in the ribs
"After seeing how happy Harry was with you, we didn't want you to be going back to your father and the death eaters, or being by yourself either. Everyone needs to have family around, family that support you and love you regardless" Hermione placed a hand on his shoulder
"I mean... they don't exactly love you just yet but I'm sure as long as they see you treat everyone right they'll welcome you in with open arms" Ron added
"Only if they're totally, completely sure? I swear they must still hate me" Draco stammered
"Some of my brothers might take more convincing than others, but mum and dad wanted to do this for you, and for Harry."
"Only if they're really certain they want me around"
Ron put a hand on Draco's shoulder in support "Trust me, if you piss any of us off I'll be the first to kick your arse, ok?"
"Cheers, Weasley" Draco smiled
"No problem" Ron winked
They broke apart and Draco returned to Pansy and Blaise, squishing onto the sofa next to them.
Harry approached Ron and Hermione and without saying a single word, pulled them into a tight embrace, crushing Ron's neck and squeezing Hermione in the ribs. He held them tight for a long time, unable to form words and if he did, he knew he'd begin crying
Eventually they broke apart and Harry looked at them both with nothing but gratitude. "Thank you" was all had to say, smiling sweetly and returning to the sofa, overcome with emotion at such a thoughtful act of kindness his best friends, feeling so happy to finally have their blessing
