"i used to be a cheerleader, like in second grade. the football games were too muddy, so instead i joined dance." bella explained, sitting next to joori, sungchan, chenle, felix, and donghyuck. surprisingly, donghyuck was quiet. everyone wasn't used to that. however, they respected that he was probably going through a tough time.
"bella as a cheerleader? i'd love to see that. give us a cheer please." chenle smirked, as the girl scoffed. as chenle tried to grab her to stand up, the lee siblings walked in with park jisung and shotaro osaki.
hendery quickly made his way over to mel, showering her in affection as joori giggled to herself while the others in that small circle got closer.
"what do you know, joori?" chenle smirked, the girl laughing some more.
"oh my god, they are so cute. a hot power couple, definitely." felix looked at the two and then back to the circle.
bella scoffed, "i knew they were going to get back together. mel is so in love with him."
"hendery hasn't asked her out yet, but i am so excited for when he does. i will personally start planning their engagement party." joori clapped, feeling excited for her bestfriend.
they then looked over to hendery back hugging melanie, as lucas began to explain to her the meaning of hot chocolate ping pong.
sungchan chuckled at the way they were all entertained, and then looked over to spot donghyuck. he forgot donghyuck and mel were a thing, and it made him feel like shit even if he had no part in it.
the tall boy got up, and tried to walk inside but was grabbed by someone who just so happened to barely catch him. "why are you ditching us so early? you have to come play hot chocolate ping pong!"
"jeno..." sungchan whined, but was unfortunately dragged to the ping pong table.
"okay! team one are melanie lee, na jaemin, and lee jeno. team two includes hendery wong, mark lee, and... jung sungchan! great!" lucas practically screamed, having his little assistant close to his side. "who do you think will win?"
"whichever team hendery is not on." renjun replied as if they were actually on a telethon.
mel caught on quick, it was basically just beer pong but with hot chocolate. one of the hot chocolates had hot sauce, and apparently that was the catch in the game.
yangyang was forced to come as well, but he stayed somewhat alone. he still felt awful about what happened with sooyoung, acknowledging thatt he was the one who was to blame. he pushed her to the edge.
"you keep crying about it but haven't even bothered to go apologize... not that you need to." xiaojun came from behind him, drying off his wet hands on his pants.
"i can't go visit her. i'll feel like an absolute asshole.. i'm way too much of a pussy." yangyang shook his head, and xiaojun just pointed at his phone. "she won't even read it."
"does that matter?" xiaojun asked, leaving yangyang to ponder.
when xiaojun went outside, he found donghyuck telling a story about his mother to the girls and chenlix, and then turned to see the chocolate ping pong game going on. it was tough deciding which to watch, but hendery's team was getting his ass beat and he had to watch that.
"get me a beer, dejun!" he heard lucas yell, and groaned but decided to roll the icebox over so everyone could get one as they pleased.

it was the middle of the night on a sunday, technically monday, as everyone sat on the dry grass. the only drunk ones were xiao dejun and zhong chenle, and that is cause they loved to have drinking competitions. everyone else either has a terribly high tolerance or hate the taste of beer.
mark lee sat next to shotaro and lucas as he scrolled through his twitter, stomach hurting from drinking the hot chocolate with hot sauce.
he also tried not to look up because across from him sat his little sister with his good friend, hendery. no one was really sure what was going on there, but they didn't question it. instead, they preferred to gossip about it to their other friends.
mel leaned onto hendery, her fingers tracing his hands again and again. "if you could have one superpower what would it be?"
the crew were so tired, they were just asking each other questions, and it was awfully relaxing. lucas grabbed his imaginary microphone, "i'm pretty tall so flying is useless, but super strength would be badass."
"really? i've always wanted to be invisible." joori smirked, thinking of her plenty discussions on this topic.
donghyuck, falling asleep, looked up around his friends, "is anyone scared of dying? i cant wrap my head around nithingness forever."
"i think i've made peace with the concept of death." renjun shrugged, picking at his nails.
mel smiled, "i used to have horrible anxiety attacks about this when i was a kid."
"i remember that. i just think death is the end of our individual consciousness. it's inevitable."
"no fucking duh." jisung smart mouthed mark, the older throwing a rock at him that he just barely dodged. "missed, bitch."
"we gotta stop giving the kids alcohol.." yangyang chuckled, sipping on his juice, "so uh.. how is everyone.. truly?"
"oh, shut the fuck up you complete sap!" hendery laughed, causing everyone else to laugh their asses off as well.
yangyang put his hands up defensively, feeling attacked, "i'm being serious! so many of yall are sad and like, sooyoung just tried to kill herself, whos next yanno?"
the atmosphere was killed, and yangyang cursed as he put his head down. "fuck.. im sorry."
"um.. so does anyone think they've found their soulmate?" renjun asked, changing the topic, "i think i found mine."
"me too." lucas giggled, grabbing the smaller one and smothering him in kisses. some growned, some gagged.
chenle widened his eyes at the question, somewhat looking at felix but not obviously. bella watched chenle, and laughed at him. he was not subtle at all.
mel tensed up, and hendery felt that. he just grabbed her arm and kissed her ear, ignoring the question.
"platonically.. all of you guys are my soulmates." shotaro smiled, everyone going absolutely crazy for him.
"okay fuck you all, if i said that i'd probably be a corpse in a hidden river by now." mark yelled, xiaojun rubbing his shoulders.
"ooh i got one, everyone here just say your favorite quirk about someone here. like me? god i absolutely love when yangyang talks. he has the perfect voice it makes me happy." bella smiled, and yangyang touched his heart.

"i love when i get joori pissed off and she does that stupid laugh that means shes going to cry later in anger." jeno giggled, poking her side to try and earn the mad laugh.
"i enjoy when i'm talking to jisung and he tries to make himself look smaller if he gets shy, trying to hide his giant body. it's the cutest thing in the world." jaemin clapped, fanboying over the baby.
"i like the way donghyuck smells?" lucas shrugged, getting laughs from everyone.
"i love how when chenle is talking about something he enjoys he raised an eyebrow, one specific eyebrow. and he doesnt even notice." renjun smirked, watching chenles cheeks become red.
mel looked over at sungchan, the boy was practically asleep but comfortably listening to everyone. "sungchan is pretty quiet here, but when its just him and i, he has this completely different energy. he brings the energy up, and hes so non judgemental."
"you guys are all so cool." felix smiled, watching as the entire friend group cheered, as if they wrapped up filming an entire movie.
renjun forced his boyfriend to carry him, and some decided to sleep over at lucas's home. melanie, however, decided to ride home with hendery.
she decided she would ditch school on monday and spent the night with hendery. it's what she felt was deserved after this long night.
