melanie finished banging her head onto her steering wheel, and stepped out of her car. as she locked it, she turned and saw the trio. hendery, yangyang, and xiaojun.
the girl smiled, and confidently walked up next to them. they were all friends. hearing their laughter about something stupid comforted her. "hello seniors and yangyang."
yangyang waved as he checked his phone, and seemed to look displeased. "good morning and goodbye.. i need to go."
he ran off quickly towards the school, and left the three of them confused. mel raised an eyebrow, looking at the two others.
"he's been acting weird, honestly. this morning he put ketchup in his cereal... sadly that is not unusual for him." xiaojun shrugged. "you're here pretty early."
"i know, i have just been trying to distract myself from school and somehow ended up to school earlier than i wanted to." mel shrugged.
hendery sniffed a bit, and then looked at the younger girl. "you smell like celery."
"excuse me?"
"maybe it's not you, but i definitely smell celery and only when you walked up. that couldn't have been an accident." hendery shrugged.
xiaojun furrowed his eyebrows, and then looked up to a group consisting joori, bella, jaemin, and jeno. "gotta go."
as he walked away, it only left hendery and mel. it wasn't awful, they were friends now. just friends.
"please don't tell me i'm the only one noticiing something weird going on there." hendery said, looking over as xiaojun greeted them all.
mel gasped, stopping him in his tracks. "i know right.. but i dont think it's a very good match. maybe we should find out some more."
"you're asking me, an angel, to meddle in my best friends love life?" hendery asked, and giggled as mel nodded. "okay, sure."
as her and hendery walked into the school, melanie remembered that the student body thought badly of her. "oh shit."
"hey it's fine, screw these kids." hendery whispered to her, obviously noticing her distaste for everyones stares.
"easy to say when you're leaving in three days, huh." mel groaned, still trying to ignore people who weren't even trying to hide their gossip.
hendery grabbed melanie's hand, and the girl widened her eyes. he was making things worse. "i said, screw these kids. they're just jealous you got me, i'm super hot."
melanie laughed, hitting him lightly with her free hand. "oh yes, that's totally it."
in the dark art room, yangyang sat in the dark with sooyoung. he kissed her once more, before checking his phone, "its time to go."
"what.. no. don't go. i just wanna stay here forever and never leave." sooyoung sighed, feeling annoyed at the situation.
yangyang chuckled, and helped her off the desk she was sitting on. "but then how would we get food?"
"i dont know.. eat paint? can we stay here for like ten more minutes. just you and i?" sooyoung pleaded, using her puppy face.
"in ten minutes there will be a bunch of first years in here trying to paint us." yangyang cocked and eyebrow, and sooyoung hurriedly grabbed her things. she did not want to deal with kids.
"we never get any alone time." sooyoung sighed, as they walked to the door. "you live with xiaojun and i live with sungchan. i don't want to risk anything, and sungchans like obsessed with melanie so we definitely can't be near him."
"xiaojun wouldn't say anything, i promise. but we can always try to go to the movies or an actual date." yangyang told the girl.
"or we can get a hotel room.. see you later." sooyoung smirked, cupping his face to kiss him. seconds later she was gone, and he was there left to think. sooyoung wants to be with him, that made him feel so odd.
ever since he was a kid, she is all he ever wanted. its like little six year old him fell in love and never fell out.
now yangyang isn't stupid, well not completely. he knows that he isn't sooyoungs first choice, or second, or probably third. he knows that she's lonely and going through a tough time, and needs some distraction. he knows that she craves male validation, that she will even stoop down to be with someone she doesn't like.
however, as selfish as it is, he really doesn't want her to realize she's too good for him. because that's what he thinks, that he is not even close to sooyoung's league.
compared to jaemin, xiaojun, and previous guys, he does not amount. yet, he holds onto the hope that maybe soon she will magically realized she loves him, the way he does her.
