Nat's POV
A week after getting the invitation for the wedding, officially this time, Y/n and I were asked to be Pepper's bridesmaids. She didn't really have any female friends and from what we gathered she didn't have any close family either. Of course we both accepted, very thankful she considered us close enough to be her bridesmaids. She took us to get our dresses and asked Y/n if she would do a speech at the reception. We went on a small hen night the weekend before the wedding, a nice spare night in a luxury, private spa. It was a little weird for me but we surprisingly had lots of fun.The day of the wedding came and we were getting ready at the compound with Pepper. I couldn't help but smile as I watched Y/n silently pick out her jewelry. We were both wearing the same dark green dress. She picked out a pair of my ear rings, small silver hoops that would compliment her dainty necklace. I rubbed my wet hair with a towel having just come out of the shower. "I can't believe Stark is actually getting married." She said, turning to look at me. "Crazy, do remember how upset he was when they were on a break. Gosh who would have thought." I replied. "Who'd have thought."She mumbled, turning back to the mirror to look at her hair. There was a knock at the door and Banner poked his head in. "Sorry, but you guys don't know where my tie is do you? Only I haven't seen it in a while and-" He asked hurriedly. Y/n moved her fingers and a black tie flew out of the wardrobe and hit Bruce. "Thanks." He smiled before leaving. "Why do we have his tie?" I asked, frowning at the wardrobe. "We were using it." She said cooly. My eyes widened when I realised what she meant but I said nothing. She got up from the seat at the vanity and disappeared into the small walk in wardrobe to get her dress on. I took a seat at the mirror and began to blow dry my hair. The blonde was growing out slightly but my roots weren't that noticeable. Y/n had told me to try curling it loosely and then pinning back the front so it was out of my face. I tried it, burning my fingers now and then on the curling irons as I wasn't concentrating. Y/n had put on her playlist and was singing quietly from inside the wardrobe. I smiled at her lovely voice and tried to put my focus back onto my hair. Y/n returned from the clothes, dancing slightly as she approached me. I was struggling to hold both pieces of hair back whilst I found a few pins. "Let me." She said softly and I let her put up my hair for me.
"See, beautiful." Y/n smiled at me through the reflection of the mirror. I kissed the hand she had resting on my shoulder and picked out a lipstick colour. She watched me, still dancing slightly to the music. The next song was more upbeat and she grabbed the hair brush as she began to boogy around the room using it as a pretend microphone. I couldn't help but laugh. Pepper came back from having her own shower in my's old room. She had stayed the night at the compound, keeping the tradition for the groom to not see the bride before the wedding. Pepper had already dried her hair and came in wearing a white satin robe.
"Ready?" I asked and the woman nodded. Her wedding dress was hung on our curtain rail, waiting for her. Y/n helped her with her hair, curling parts of it and pinning up others into a classy updo.
"Where did you learn to do formal hair so well?" Pepper asked her.
"Well dad often had formal meals or parties with work that I would often have to attend so I learnt to do my own hair. I don't really know, I just learnt over time." She smiled, stepping back to admire her work. "Thanks." Pepper beamed. I handed her a glass of champagne as we continued to sing along to the music. Next was her dress. It was quite the challenge to get it on but with help from Y/n's powers it was done without messing up her hair. I did her make up for her and we had a second glass of champagne in the process. Once we had finished getting dressed Y/n made us a peanut butter sandwich each for the car journey. Happy was picking us up in one of Tony's blacked out sports cars. He wanted his future wife to arrive in the best car, after all he never did anything on a low scale. We were all waiting in the car, talking about small things as Y/n ran back inside to get her phone. She jogged back out to the car, trying not to break her ankle in the process. She got in the car beside me and we smiled at Pepper. "Excited?" She asked. Pepper nodded her head but she was also looking a little pale. "Just a little nervous." She admitted.
Y/n's POV
We eventually got to the venue after a few little games to take Peppers mind off her nerves. We had to enter the passcode for the security gate but then we were free to drive down the pretty driveway that led deeper into the woods. The venue was a large clearing in a forest. We watched excitedly out the window as we pulled up to the building. There was an outside archway with rows of well decorated wooden chairs. The reception building looked like a fancy wooden cabin. We pulled up in the car park and got out. The car was parked just out of sight so that Tony couldn't see her. Happy went off to tell Tony that Pepper had arrived. I looked around the corner quickly and could see Rhodey and Tony stood at the front. Rhodes was wearing the same suit as Happy and his tie was the same. Clearly the two of them were groomsmen. A boy around Peter's age came jogging out of the side door to the building. He stood slightly aside to the crowd of people. The ceremony was only going to be small with close friends and family. To my surprise Tony had wanted quite a simple wedding, perhaps Pepper was rubbing off on him. Nat fussed about with Pepper's long train, making sure she looked perfect in the gorgeous dress. Happy returned quickly, puffing for breath. It was quite unconventional but Happy was going to walk Pepper down the aisle, they had been friends the longest and he was almost like a brother to her. "Are you ready?" I asked, handing her the bouquet of flowers. She nodded, taking a deep breath. "Just like practice." Natasha reassured her and she nodded. I gave Rhodes a quick thumbs up and the soft music began to play. Happy linked arms with Pepper and Nat and I took our position behind them. "Do I look ok?" Pepper asked quickly. "You look stunning Pep." I replied, it almost made me emotional just looking at her. Tony and Pepper sort of felt like my adoptive parents to a certain extent and to see Pepper so happy was really nice. She gave the final nod and we slowly proceeded towards the aisle. Everyone rose from their seats as she reached the start of the aisle. Slowly Happy walked her down, everyone watched her with a smile. I'm pretty sure I even saw Bruce wipe away a tear. I smiled at my friends as we passed them. At long last Pepper stood behind Tony. Nat, Happy and I took our positions on the respective sides. Pepper tapped Tony on the shoulder and he let out a relieved sigh. He turned and tears immediately swelled in his eyes as he looked at her. His face shone with happiness as he smiled at her. The boy to the left of Rhodey was holding the rings, waiting for his time to hand them over. Nat and I exchanged glances, I looked at her for a moment, I loved her so much. Rhodey was leading the ceremony and cleared his throat ready to begin. "We gather here today to celebrate one of life's greatest moments, and to cherish the words which shall unite Tony and Pepper in marriage. We have come together to witness the joining of these two lives. For them, out of the routine of ordinary life, the extraordinary has happened. They worked and grew together, fell in love and are finalizing it with their wedding today. Romance is fun, but true love is something far greater, it is their desire to love each other for life and that is what we are celebrating here. But today is also a celebration for the rest of us, for it is a pleasure for us to see love in bloom, and to participate in the union of two people so delightfully suited to one another. And to have a couple of cocktails in the process!" He read to us.There was a small cheer from me and Nat as well as a few people in the crowd. Tong laughed lightly and winked at me. "A good marriage must be created. In marriage the "little" things are the big things. It is never being too old to hold hands. It is remembering to say, "I love you" at least once a day. It is never going to sleep angry. It is standing together and facing the world. It is speaking words of appreciation, and demonstrating gratitude in thoughtful ways. It is having the capacity to forgive and forget. It is giving each other an atmosphere in which each can grow. It is a common search for the good and the beautiful. It is not only marrying the right person -- it is being the right partner." Rhodey continued. He gave the pair a nod and they turned to face one another, taking hold of each other's hands. I felt Nat's hand close around mine as we watched. "Repeat after me. I, Tony Stark, take you Pepper Potts to be my wife, my partner in life and my one true love. I will cherish our friendship and love you today, tomorrow, and forever. I will trust you and honor you. I will laugh with you and cry with you. I will love you faithfully Through the best and the worst, Through the difficult and the easy. Whatever may come I will always be there. As I have given you my hand to hold, I shall give you my life to keep." Rhodey said to Tony, Tony repeated each sentence after Rhodey. The whole time he looked deeply into Pepper's eyes as tears fell down her blushing cheeks. Rhodey turned to Pepper. "I, Pepper Potts, take you Tony Stark to be my Husband, my partner in life and my one true love. I will cherish our friendship and love you today, tomorrow, and forever. I will trust you and honor you. I will laugh with you and cry with you. I will love you faithfully Through the best and the worst, Through the difficult and the easy. Whatever may come I will always be there. As I have given you my hand to hold So I give you my life to keep." Pepper repeated after Rhodes. "Tony and Pepper, I would ask that you always treat yourself and each other with respect, and remind yourselves often of what brought you together today. Give the highest priority to the tenderness, gentleness and kindness that your marriage deserves. When frustration and difficulty assail your marriage - as they do to every relationship at one time or another - focus on what still seems right between you, not only the part that seems wrong. This way, when clouds of trouble hide the sun in your lives and you lose sight of it for a moment, you can remember that the sun is still there. And if each of you will take responsibility for the quality of your life together, it will be marked by abundance and happiness." He read out from the cards in his hands. Tony took a deep breath as the man continued. "Tony do you take Pepper to be your lawfully wedded Wife?" "Yes, yes I do." Tony smiled."Do you promise to love, honor, cherish and protect her, and be faithful to her?""I do.""Do you promise to take out the trash and pick up your clothes off the floor?""I... well... Fine, I do." Tony chuckled."And Do you promise to love her even when she is cranky?" "I do. I do that anyway!" He added in a whisper. "Hey!" Pepper laughed."Pepper do you take Tony to be your awfully wedded Husband?" Rhodey looked to Pepper. "Awfully wedded husband? Yes I do." "Do you promise to love, honor, cherish and protect him, and be faithful to him?" "I do.""Do you Promise not to whine at him when he forgets to take out the trash or pick up his clothes from the floor?" "I suppose I do." She joked, earning a few laughs from the audience."And do you promise to love him even when he spends nights in the workshop with his suits or when he recklessly disappears on alien spaceships?" "I do." She said, looking at Tony with eyes full of love. "There are the rings of marriage. The band of eternal love and happiness as you share your life together. If you would repeat after me please." Rhodey took the rings from the young man and handed the first to Tony."I Tony, take thee, Pepper to be my Wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer, in joy and sorrow, and I promise my love to you. And with this ring, I take you as my Wife, for as long as we both shall live." Tony repeated and slipped the ring over Pepper's finger and she smiled."I Pepper, take thee Tony, to be my Husband. To have and to hold, in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer, in joy and sorrow, and I promise my love to you. And with this ring, I take you as my Husband, for as long as we both shall live." She slipped the ring onto his finger and they both looked to Rhodey. "To make your relationship work will take love. This is the core of your marriage and why you are here today. It will take trust, to know, that in your hearts, you truly want what is best for each other. It will take dedication, to stay open to one another - and to learn and grow together. It will take faith, to go forward together, without knowing exactly what the future brings. And it will take commitment, to hold true to the journey you both have pledged to today. By the power vested in me, though I'm not really sure what power, I'm not the one with magic. But I now pronounce you Husband and wife. Tony... You may now kiss the bride, I can see you're very eager!" Rhodey finished. Tony lent in and kissed Pepper softly, she pulled him in deeper. The audience applauded loudly and there were cheers from Nat and Happy. "I would Like to introduce the happy couple!" Rhodey called.
