Madison: hey, are you busy?
Unknown: um kind of. who is this though?
Madison: oh sorry. I didn't mean to bother you while you're busy. I will leave you alone.
Unknown: no, it's okay. what's your name?
Madison: madison. you?
Unknown: dominic, but you can call me dom. did you need something?
Madison: i just needed someone to talk to. my mental health is going to shit right now and i don't want to be alone.
Dom: well i'll definitely be here for you. can you tell me what's going on?
Madison: i just need someone to tell me its going to be okay. that i will be fine and i will make it through this.
Dom: maddie, you will make it through this. you're already reaching out to someone, even if it is a stranger. that takes real courage. you're so brave for that. i have so much faith in you. you will be okay. maybe not now, but you will be one day.
Madison: it just gets so overwhelming. my head is in such a dark place. i don't even remember the last time that i had a positive thought.
Dom: i understand, believe me. it may not feel like it right now, but someday you will have nothing but positive thoughts. and when that day comes, you will be saying you don't remember the last time you had a negative thought.
Madison: i hope you're right. i would give anything to have that kind of mindset.
Dom: i know you probably don't want to talk about it right now, but if you ever do, i am here to listen to you. sometimes all you need is an ear. and i have two of them.
Madison: i really appreciate that, dom. hopefully someday i have the courage to actually talk about it instead of just keeping it all inside.
Dom: keeping it all inside will only drive you mad, love. its not healthy. that may be why its so overwhelming for you. how long has this been going on?
Madison: about two years now.
Dom: i can't even imagine what that must be like. im so sorry you're having to go through this. you're not alone, no matter what your mind may try to make you think. you have me always.
Madison: im so glad i texted you and not someone who would have told me to fuck off.
Dom: only a major wanker would tell someone in a crisis to fuck off.
Dom: are you going to be okay if i get back to work?
Madison: yeah, i will be okay.
Dom: okay, good. if anything changes, please text me right away. i will stop what i am doing.
Madison: you don't have to do that, dom. you have already helped me so much.
Dom: it's really not a problem. i don't want anything to happen to you and me not know about it. that would defeat thw purpose of you coming to me.
Madison: okay, i will let you know. thank you again. from the bottom of my heart.
