"But why? You will just hurt me even more!" Katara said heartbroken as those words
Aang sighed on the other line
"s-sorry it's for the b-best" Aang said, hurt evident in his tone and tears on the edge of breaking
Katara covered her face, trying not to break down and yell at him for being selfish for no reason
"look Aang, this is not the solution, I'm fine with the relationship being distance-"
"but i feel guilty Katara! i can't see you suffer anymore, its for the best!" Aang said, rasing his tone frustrated
Katara was about to speak but Aang hang up and she silently cried in the palm of her hands
"why Aang...? you just made things worse" Katara mumbles as she cried louder in her arms

As I hang up the phone slowly
I put my phone beside me as I sit next to my dying father's bed as he struggled to even breathe
I look at his weak state and break down
I cup my face with my hands with tears as they poured like rainwater
I can't put on a fake face anymore...

I sat there, hopeless, crying and crying, at this point time disappeared, it felt like my heart had been shattered and it ached in pain
"Katara...your friend...is here" i heard Sokka knock gently on my door for the sixth time
"g-go a-away" i mumbled as I buried myself even more
"sis...please...everyone has been worrying" Sokka said, hurt in his tone
I turn my head, not facing the door and look at the picture frame of me and my friends

"you s-said you w-wouldn't t-tell a-anyone you p-promised!" I yelled mad
"well sooner or later, it had to be spilled" Meng said emotionless
I stared at her in disgust
"all because of Aang huh?" I said solving the cause of this problem, I always knew this would happen
"so you weren't dumb after all" Meng said frowning
"I was never that dumb " I argued back
"well you did tell me your secret" Meng said like a smart as
"you think this is a way of getting back at me, but hey I am getting out of school soon so it wouldn't even matter and this will only end up breaking you Meng..." I deadpanned or cursed to her
"I d-don't r-regret i-it" Meng said trying to muster like she regretted some of her actions but didn't say her mind
I sighed, disappointed, "this really isn't you Meng" I try to reason
"HOW DO YOU KNOW? DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO ME?" Meng yelled making me freeze in shock at her actions, never would i think a happy girl be like this, broken in front of me
I stood there dumbfounded

I knock over the picture frame, making it stumble to the ground, seeping the crack filtered on my face, symbolising something
"Katara?" I heard a different voice
"go away Zuko" i said coldly, knowing that tone
i could feel Zuko frown on the other side of the door
"it's not just Zuko..." another voice beamed
This time I realised it was Suki, my friend...
I cried even louder

Everyone outside was hurt by Katara's painful cries and after having enough suffering for them and her, opened the door and all ran to hug her
"Katara...please we know what happened...we're all so sorry" they all said at the time
Katara cries soften at those heartfelt words and the comfort she got

Katara was still heartbroken, whatever hit her way was flooded back with memories
even the bookstore remained empty without their signature costumer, "her"
Katara stared blankly at Aang's profile and the name that she used to name

"what did you put my name to?" Katara teased, linking her hands with Aang
Aang chuckled and turned to her
"well just Katara..." he joked
Katara frowned at the sentence and Aang noticed this and smiled
"I'm kidding, I named you my beloved girlfriend" Aang empathised
Katara punched him lightly playfully
Aang laughed and tickled Katara and she laughed
it was her favourite memory

" and still i miss you Aang...so much..." Katara mumbled as she then looked at their cute pictures
"I really need to move on" Katara mumbled and slammed her head lightly
Katara then heard a knock outside her door and deiced to go outside and answer it
"hello Zuko here-" Zuko waved awkwardly
Katara stared confused
"um sorry! i just- was not expecting you to open the door...how are you?"

"are you really moving on?' Zuko asked as he ate the sides on the dish
Katara nodded slowly
"I know your not..." Zuko said like any friend
Katara looked at Zuko with sad eyes, eye glistening
"it's hard...Zuko...it really is" she tried to muster out

"I'm here for you" Zuko said cupping Katara's hand

Katara stared puzzled as Toph's tactic won the game
"see?' Toph flexed
Katara smiled for the first time in months
"HEY LOOKS GUYS!" Toph yelled

"look at the fireworks!" Suki pointed
everyone looked at the booming fireworks
Katara stared amazed and frowned...it was another memory of course
Zuko smiled at such a reaction

"what?" she mocked
"well...glad to see you smile" Zuko commented
Katara scoffed and blushed at such comment
"maybe i have moved on a little..." Katara said

"maybe you need a boyfriend" Zuko teased
Katara shook her head, " Aang is really-"
"look, I know this is hard but you always talk about Aang but I really wanted to ask you something" Zuko asked blushing
Katara nodded in response as she was listening
" look, I want you to see me as a man, so please on a date with me and see if you fall in love with me first to move on with Aang, and if you disagree, i am fine with that " Zuko mustered
Katara stood there shocked but hesitated at her answer
