I got around 4 hours of sleep last night. But how could I fall asleep when he almost kissed me. As much as I wanted to believe that it had romantic intentions I could help but wonder if that was the reason. Did he have feelings for me or did he just get caught up in the moment? I eventually fell asleep only to be greeted a few hours later by the sound of my alarm clock. I silently protested to myself before getting up and getting ready for the day. Nick was still asleep, probably because he was up for most of the night at Karl's. I heard him arrive back at around 2 in the morning but I pretended to be asleep. He walked to his room with a stupid smile on his face. Luckily I managed to hold back my giggles until he left the room.
I got changed and went outside to see the bright smile of Niki.

I then remembered 5 minutes into the drive that I hadn't told her about last night.
"Oh my god, Niki I forgot to tell you about last night!" I said excitedly. She looked at me, excitement and wonder flashing in her eyes.
"What?" she asked, making sure to keep her eyes on the road and me.
"Ok so basically Toby came over last night!" I squealed. She let out a small gasp followed by a squeal.
"NO WAY! What happened?" she asked excitedly. I couldn't help but smile at her enthusiasm.
"Well basically he came over to apologise for all the stuff Maddie said to me and I forgave him and then, I don't know, I got this weird wave of confidence and asked him to watch a movie," I blabbered "He picked a horror movie so I snuggled into him and when the movie ended we almost kissed!"
Niki's jaw dropped to the floor as she started screaming.
"NO WAY, NO WAY, NO WAY!" she kept on screaming. Of course, I was pissing myself laughing. She kept asking me questions about it until we came close to the school and I had to get her to calm down. When we pulled into the car park, I immediately saw Tubbo talking to a couple of his friends. God, he looked so cute. He noticed me and smiled before walking over to me.
"Ooooo your boyfriend is coming over," Niki cooed. I felt myself start to blush as I elbowed her playfully.
"Shut up," I said, trying to hide the blush that was creeping onto my face. She winked at me before heading towards the canteen.
"Hey!" he said before giving me a warm hug. I smiled widely.
"Hi!" I said. He pulled away from the hug and looked me up and down. He blushed and looked at the floor.
"You look really pretty today," he said quietly. I giggled.
"Toby Smith, are you flirting with me?" I asked jokingly. He immediately turned beet red.
"No- I mean I- just meant-," he stuttered, clearly flustered. I couldn't help but smile at how nervous he seemed.
"I'm kiddinggg," I said "You are incredibly adorable when you get flustered though," He looked back at me.
"I wasn't flustered," he said defensively. I laughed at his lie.
"Yeah sure you weren't," I said, winking at him and turning around to walk into school. Suddenly I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist as I was being lifted into the air from behind.
"Tubbo! Put me down!" I squealed, practically pissing from laughter. He spun me round in circles and laughed at my attempts to escape his grip. Finally, the bell rang and he put me down.
"You're an idiot," I said, punching him lightly on the arm. He chuckled and we walked to form together. When we arrived I saw Maddie in a little group with her friends through the door. I immediately started to feel uneasy. I grabbed Tubbo's hand and squeezed it. I guess Tubbo was the same as he gave me a nervous look before we entered the classroom. Maddie didn't seem to notice us walking in and I sighed in relief. Then one of Tubbo's friends called to him across the classroom.
"Hey Tubbo come over and bring your girlfriend!" he yelled before all his friends burst out laughing. I felt my heart drop to the floor as I see Maddie's group turn to face us. She down at our intertwined hands then back up at me before giving me a look I will never forget. It sent chills down my spine. Tubbo pulled on my hand and we walked over to his friends. I squeezed his hand nervously as we sat down with them. He looked at me before realising what direction I was looking. He leaned closer to me.
"Don't worry I promise I won't let her hurt you," he said reassuringly. I looked back at him and nodded slightly. But I knew in my gut that she was gonna get to me. I just didn't know how.
Surprisingly the rest of the day went by pretty smoothly. Of course, Maddie wasn't happy that I ignored her threat but tubbo never left my side. She obviously liked Tubbo so she wouldn't dare touch me when he was around. She had no problem however giving passive-aggressive comments such as "Woah what did you have for lunch?" or "I can't imaging having someone cling to my arm for the whole day". I tried my best to ignore her but some of them really got to me. I knew that eventually, I would have to be by myself in school so I didn't react, hoping she would just let it go after a while. Of course, that was probably merely a dream.
I got a text from Nick at lunch saying he won't be able to pick me up so I would have to walk home. I, of course, started to panic at the thought of being alone at this time but luckily Tubbo lives around where I did so he agreed to walk home with me. I'm not gonna lie I did feel a bit stupid asking him if he could walk with me but he seemed excited. When the school day ended we walked out to the front when Tommy came running up behind us.
"Hey! Do you mind if I talk to you for a sec Tubbo?" he asked. Tubbo looked at me.
"It's fine I can be by myself for a sec I'll wait here," I smiled. He gave me an unsure smile before walking a few yards away with Tommy. I don't know what he wanted to talk about but it seemed important. I pulled out my phone and looked on Instagram for a bit when I heard multiple footsteps come towards me. I looked up and saw the not so friendly faces of Maddie and her wannabe friends. When I tell you she looked pissed I mean she was pissed.
"Alone are we now after spending the whole day latched to Toby like a fucking leach," she scoffed. Her friends giggled and nodded in agreement. I was speechless.
"I- wha- what do you mean?" I stammered, clearly nervous. She obviously was highly amused at the fact I was intimidated and started to laugh.
"Oh my God you're actually so pathetic!" she taunted "You can't even stand up for yourself let alone fight back," I looked down at my shoes in shame. She grabbed my chin aggressively and forced me to look into her beady, evil eyes.
"Now this is your last warning," she spat "You back off or you will regret it you slut," I didn't know what to do I was so shocked all I could do was stand there in silence, praying for this to be over. But it was far from that. She raised her hand next to her face, ready to swing it at me. I closed my eyes and waited for it to happen. But it never came.
I opened my eyes to see Tubbo, clenching Maddie's wrist.
Tubbo POV
"It's fine I can be by myself for a sec I'll wait here," she said. I gave her an unsure smile as Tommy dragged be away from her.
"So basically, I like Natasha," he said "And I want to ask her out but I don't know how to talk to her and I thought since you have a girlfriend you would know," My heart skipped a beat when he called her my girlfriend. I could feel the blush start to creep onto my face.
"Sh- she's not my girlfriend Tommy," I said quickly. He looked confused.
"Really, she's not?" he asked. I nodded and he shrugged it off and went back to blabbering about Natasha. Although I was listening to him, my mind was in a whole other place. I couldn't help but wonder whether she saw me as more than a friend. My thoughts were quickly interrupted by Tommy however.
"So how do I talk to her?" he asked. I sighed and started guiding him through how to talk to girls. Although I've never had a girlfriend, I've had plenty of female friends throughout my life so I was good at this type of shit. Once I had explained it to him he started asking all sorts of questions which I answered to the best of my ability.
"Anything else you need to ask me?" I asked. He shook his head.
"No, I think that's it," he smiled "Thanks man I really appreciate it but you don't want to keep your gir-," he trailed off as he looked in y/n's direction. I was confused at first but then I turned to where he was looking.
I saw y/n cowering in fear as Maddie and her friends surrounded her like hungry sharks. I could feel a mixture of anger and worry start to build up inside of me. I clenched my fists but then realised it probably wasn't best to fight her. Then my heart practically stopped as I watched her raise her arm. Without even thinking I sprinted over to them and grabbed Maddie's arm before it reached y/n's face. Tommy rushed over soon after and put a comforting arm around y/n. Maddie looked at me and I watched her smile fade into pure horror.
"T- Toby?" she stuttered nervously "I- I thought you left," The nerve of this bitch infuriated me. I threw her wrist back to her and looked at her dead in the eyes. I couldn't bear to look at her. Everything about her pissed me off. From her cakey makeup to her tacky hair extensions.
"Step away from y/n right now," I said, my voice was shaking with rage. I wasn't used to feeling like this but this was the last straw for me. She stepped back, surprised at my sudden change of attitude.
"It- it wasn't what it looked like, she started it!" she whined pointing her witch-like finger at y/n. I instinctively batted it away. To hurt y/n was one thing but to lie about it pushed me over the edge.
"I KNOW DAMN WELL WHAT I SAW!" I screamed, "NOW GET YOUR ASS OUT OF HERE BEFORE I FOLD YOU LIKE A FUCKING LAWN CHAIR!"
She and her friends quickly scurried away after that. I was so pissed off it took everything in me not to punt the bitch to the fucking moon. My attitude changed completely when I turned around to see y/n. She looked so frail and so vulnerable. I immediately engulfed her in a huge hug and thanked Tommy for keeping her safe. She cried into my shoulder and I stroked her hair calmly. I don't think I've felt that angry since that night at the coffee shop

Summary - Y/n doesn't get much sleep as she is too busy thinking of the night with Tubbo. When she waked up in the morning, she gets ready and Niki picks her up. She tells Niki about last night and they bond over it. They are at school and Tubbo comes to meet y/n. They flirt and go to form. Y/n grabs Tubbo's hand before going in. Maddie sees them and is enraged. The rest of the day is normal and at the end of the day, Tubbo and y/n are about to start walking home when Tommy borrows Tubbo for some advice. While she is alone, y/n is approached by Maddie and her friends who threaten and belittle her. Maddie lifts her hand to slap y/n but Tubbo grabs her wrist. He shouts at Maddie who leaves and y/n cries and Tubbo embraces her.
